So I beat Doki Doki Literature Club on a whim with the Natsuki ending, and honestly, it's pretty good. It's a neat experience, didn't feel too strongly one way or another about it, but I still appreciate it in that it's a cool little gimmick story.
Also here's a cool MMD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpV_xL2FrGA

I googled pokemon and one of the first results that showed up was that the switch emulator yuzu now runs LGPE almost perfectly, it's just missing shaders. I'm pretty sure this is literally the first time a pokemon gen game was(likely) emulatable right on release.

THQ Nordic recently did an AMA that they announced on twitter... on 8chan. You can guess how it went, it was 80% shitposting, but honestly good on them for trying.
-
I saw that and didn't know what 8chan was, but guessed it was like 4chan, so it didn't look like a great idea, but didn't really mind it, then I saw what the site is like, and I couldn't believe any company would even get close to a site like that. It isn't redeemable in any way, yet they chose to do it there still, despite there being so many other options to choose from.

Pewdiepie getting Elon Musk and Justin Roiland(both the rick AND morty voice) to host his meme review and then elon musk laughing hysterically at a dead drowned deer is the most "right timeline" thing ever.

You know, I really wish medicines would give a simple layperson explanation of what they do to your body on them, all the info on them is always between "Anti-Inflammatory" or "Anti-Depression" to online/on their website where it's "oh it releases dihydrogen monoxide into your bloodstream thereby causing a complex chemical process by which your deoxy type-6 messenger proteins convey it to the body parts displaying the most symptoms of dehydration and inflammation, rerouting their production to whatever and leaving you refreshed", like, you lost me, even just a simple "it induces your body to make more dopamine and serotonin which makes you feel good" level explanation (antidepressants) would be interesting enough and make the difference.

Breaking: MIT researchers warn that by 2025 almost half of all status updated will be by me.

So Devotion(a highly top selling taiwanese indie horror game inspired by silent hill/fatal frame about backwards chinese traditions) is getting review bombed on steam by the chinese and went from 10/10 to 5/10 on steam because it has a poster that says "Xi Jinping Winnie the Pooh Moron". Xi Jinping is the murderous dictator-for-life of china and has banned comparing him to winnie the pooh.
Edit since it's delisted: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1006510/Devotion/

You know, I say this all the time, but Maplestory 1 is legitimately one of the best games of all time IMO, like it has so much content and it's all so likeable and fun, so many character classes, so much ability to minmax your stuff, and it also has one of the best OSTs of any game, like, victoria island themes and especially henesys' theme has been in my head since 2005, and more.
I would definitely recommend anyone play it even if you're playing it singleplayer and don't care about interaction with others, just pretend it's a castlevania game with lag or something.

Dungeon Fighter Online is getting a huge full-3D sequel and it's internally names "Project BBQ".... HYPE! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RG8Y254L5Q

Also seriously, this game's class system is awesome, like I can legit describe the job advancements for the male gunner as choosing between being "Featuring dante from the devil may cry series", "A localized gundam, but actually has even more guns than one", "A localized Red Alert 2 War Factory" and "Squall from FF if he was dual-wielding magic gunblades"

I don't think I've seen a game go from extremely loved/considered a masterpiece to extremely cynically looked back on/disliked faster than KH3 since like, Heavy rain in 2010, maybe. Even then, KH3 is like a 2 week-old game but it took a while for Heavy Rain's whole "the new age of vidya storytelling" hype to fade away.
What went wrong?
-
I haven't gotten it yet but I'm sure it never would've lived up to the hype. However, is that from a community standpoint or from critics as well? Because I thought the reviews and stuff were good?
I tend not to look to the general internet to see their opinions on stuff because it's a terrible idea.

What's more exciting: A horde survival where the survivor who killed the MOST zombies gets killed at the end of the day, or, one where the survivor who killed the LEAST zombies gets killed at the end of the day?
The first one has the tension of making the group more and more uphill and tense every day they survive, but the second one has the dynamics of the worst performers wanting to sabotage each other and take their weapons and so on to not be the last one.

This is like, one of my favorite artworks ever, like it's so perfectly between "wants to look hot" and "will still pulverize you if you try anything shady": https://i.imgur.com/p72x5pY.jpg

So with no 3DS games announced for a while and none on the horizon other than the swan song Persona Q2, the 3DS is probably done. The 3DS was so so great, like seriously, it had so many extremely good games like SMT4, Zero Escape, Bravely Default, FF Theatrhythem, KI: U, RF4, Luigi's Mansion 2, games that created a whole fandom on their own like Fire Emblem Awakening and Senran Kagura, redefining sequels like the new Pokemon games, great ports like XB and others and just awesome new/unique sequels to longrunning series's like Monster Hunter, Metroid, Etrian Odyssey, Zelda, Mario, Kirby, Ace Attorney, Metroid, Warioware, etc, etc, like it just did so much of everything and it did it all super well.
Fire Emblem Awakening is ESPECIALLY big, bringing back a whole series that was permanently niche and releasing many further sequels that are also liked and spawning a huge fandom with how 10/10 just one game is is the stuff of legends.
-
I love the 3DS, and I still feel like I haven't gotten nearly enough out of its library. Fire Emblem Awakening shows what a powerhouse the system was, and after the Wii U flopped, it was great to see that Nintendo tried to give some games new life on the 3DS. I've said this a bunch of times, but the dual screens are a huge part of why I hope the Switch doesn't completely supplant the 3DS. The dual screens really need to be retained somehow.
Just checked that Persona Q2 will be out in June, and yeah, that looks like a fine swan song. While the system will likely be discontinued either some time this year or the next, it's had a pretty great run.

So in a scene in jump force, Izuku Midoriya(Deku) from MHA instantly assumes Piccolo from DBZ is a villain when he sees him, and Piccolo replies he's no villain, he's a namekian. It's gotten memed really hard with jump force players to show deku beating up, bullying, or just generally being a dick to piccolo.

I posted everything that happened at the anime con, I hope you all like it as much as I did: https://neocardmaker.com/forum/index.php?/topic/708-me-and-nour-went-to-the-only-anime-convention-in-egypt-and-it-was-awesome-also-the-japanese-embassador-was-dressed-as-super-mario/

So I just came back from the anime convention in egypt(2 hours ago, really) and it was the best thing ever. Like legit, it was so much fun and we got so many things and did so many activities and saw so many great cosplayers, the Embassador of japan to Egypt, Masaki Something, showed up cosplaying as mario as the opening ceremony and it only got more stereotypically japany and full of cosplays from there. There were lots of cosplays and random gimmicks for many things there, Joker from Persona 5, the sword from transistor, 9S and 2B from Nier, Himiko and Midoriya from MHA, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the carribean, the PUBG guy, 3 people cosplaying Cells At Work! stole the show. There was an overwhelming amount of Fortnite, PUBG, Naruto, One Piece, League of Legends, MHA, Tokyo Ghoul(this was almost as popular as Naruto there, unironically). There were tons of things on sale for astronomically low prices, like neither me nor nour(my sister, who I went with) expected all the merch and posters to cost as little as they did and be as varied as they were, and it was awesome. I will post a write up with many photos tomorrow, or the day after(when the cosplay show is uploaded, basically, so you can see how much was on display).

Going to an anime con with Nour tomorrow, my mood is somewhere between https://i.redd.it/39cc9dq38jo01.jpg and https://giant.gfycat.com/HarmfulFirmErmine.webm

Breath of the Wild's weapon degradation system docks it like 20 points on a 5 out of 5 rating system, how did anyone give it beaming reviews on switch without the infinite durability mod? Especially since the reward for many things is weapons which degrade, and it makes many battles that wouldve been big challenges gear checks/makes even small encounters need to be avoided sometimes.
