  I mean there are pokemon that actually do fuse together. Like Slowpoke and Shellder to make Slowbro or Slowking, Magnemite to make Magneton, Diglett to make Digtrio, Necrozma fuses with Solgaleo and Lunala, and Kyurem fuses with Zekrom and Reshiram. Also, Shelmet and Carablast. So fusion is a thing in pokemon already. It just matters if you can spot it.
