  1. Hmmm, first -anime- I watched without it being just cuz it was on TV? I want to say it was Naruto. Which is sadly, the boring answer but well I'm glad it got me into the medium. And it's an excellent starter anime that taught me when someone tells you to skip a large section of episodes, you -listen- to them. It was not fun to sit through 101-219. It was nothing short of torture and I now understand why you listen to people when they recommend things. Another show I actually went out of my way to watch relatively early on was Chaotic. Bit of a strange show but I definitely enjoyed the worldbuilding of it even if the animation was typically... meh. It was never ugly just felt a bit box-cutter with it's animation style. And beyond that the only other anime I think I really actively went out of my way to watch when I was younger was Black Butler but that was definitely after Naruto. And to this day I have not touched some of the other popular anime surrounding Naruto due to being terrified of getting stuck in that filler rut again, as I'm someone that feels they -have- to see every episode if they enjoy a show. Which is why I have not seen Bleach or DBZ, even though I've watched DB Super. xD
  2. Jin raises an eyebrow at the rather odd question, "Didn't know there were those of us that didn't know how to do the soulblast thing..." She watched as Aki simply walked up and soulblasted some poor spirit, "You do that. Weird, feels like it got a bit more intense." She shrugged the feeling off, though her instincts seemed to be telling her something had changed. "I'm going to an upper floor, don't follow me unless you know how to handle yourself around firearms." She slipped a long-barreled custom pistol outside of her armored coat, a revolver clip that had been hollowed out and fitted with a single slot rather than the typical 6-shooter setup. She gave a reach into her pocket, slipping out 13 rather large capped bullets, each coded with a different color. "I'm going to be loud and I'm not going to stop if there's an injury. If you're fine with that and don't think you'd get in the way feel free to follow me." She rolled her shoulders a bit as she began to trek up the stairs. __________________ Jin and anyone that followed her would find themselves walking past hanging bodies of what appeared to be spirits. Anyone with a sense for them could tell they were weak, floating gently around the 10PPL and lower mark as arrows jutted from anywhere from their throat, head, stomach, or the like. They all maintained one thing in common though; they were all pinned to the wall by an arrow. "Hmmm... spirit that likes picking on weaker spirits..." She readied her gun, holding it steady as she inched forward. She found another being rounding the corner, an arrow nocked to a bow as it turned to look at her and gave a rather creepy grin. It looked to be a skeleton dressed as a rather eery Robin Hood, but she didn't have much time to think about that before quickly pulling its bow up to loose an arrow towards Jin and diving behind cover! Jin let out a quick yelp before holding up her hand with her palm out, holding open one of the small boxes she had pocketed on her way in, before diving behind cover herself, "Good thing I brought those with me... well... salt's definitely not going to work... Let's try letting out my own soulblast and see if it can stand up to that!" She opened the cartridge of her gun, unloading the firearm before pressing her palm to the opening, a quick pulse firing into it before she lifted her weapon and fired in the direction she had seen the walking spirit go towards! A rather loud 'BOOM' emanated from the practical hand-cannon that Jin carried, causing her to yelp and shoot a hand to her ear, "Gah, I knew I forgot something!" The skeleton seemed to have managed to keep behind cover for enough time as it darted out from its position to loose another arrow towards her, sailing overhead and piercing a computer screen with a rough 'CRACK'. "Hey hey, no wrecking the office you overgrown calcium complex!" She growled, slipping open her gun's cartridge once again before loading another round. Of course all she was met with was another 'SCHWICK' of an arrow sailing past her head and piercing another spirit's body on the wall. "Ugh, of course I had to find a spirit that knew how to use a weapon..." She kicked over a coffee table, putting herself behind it as cover!
  3. 8:00 AM, Megalopolis Apt. Complex, Room 2 A girl tossed and turned in her sleep, a nightmare attacking her mind. A powerful, incredible spirit as screams were heard through the entire street she found herself wandering. Yet she found herself continuing to walk towards where people were running from. It was as if she had no control of her own body, but, when had she gotten out of bed? She didn't recognize this part of the city. The screaming continued to grow in pitch the closer she got, before she saw an open mouth. She thought its tongue was lulling out before realizing, that was no tongue. It was a jaw. It looked towards her, something dripping from its face. There was a sudden silence. And then it grinned, filled with unbridled power, and opened its maw in an ear-shattering screech. ________________ Jin gasped, finding herself in a cold sweat as she shot out of bed, "Shit... that was a dream... just a dream..." She rose a hand to steady her heart, taking in breathing exercises she had learned. "I wonder if this job is starting to get to me..." She glanced to her alarm, 8:32. "Piece of junk didn't go off again... I need a paycheck to get a new one." She groaned, pulling a tablet out of a pocket and starting to scroll through jobs that had been posted, "Boring, boring, boring, oh, uuuh... a meeting today? For... oooh maybe this is worth considering." She hopped out of bed and gave a stretch, yawning to herself, "Well if I'm gonna deal with that..." She got herself dressed, moving to some type of storage room as she picked up a few containers of different sizes, "I guess I don't technically need these but it's nice to keep everything sorted..." She slipped them into the armored trenchcoat's pockets she had on. She sighed before slipping a small, cheap firearm that was a mere single-shot out of her other coat pocket, "At least this ability is good for staying on the cheap end with this stuff. If I could get my hands on something with auto-fire I'd probably go through it waaaay too fast though." She gave a small chuckle to herself before looking down. "Ah... who am I kidding, there's nobody here to laugh with me any more." She walked out of the apartment, giving a last look behind her before locking the door. _______________ 12:00 PM, ToSoftware HQ Jin found herself listening to the job description, "So a simple vengeful ghost, shouldn't be too hard if someone here knows what a PPL is. Multiple people it seems like. Doesn't mean any of you should get sloppy though, even a low PPL can be a threat to someone who doesn't know what to expect." She smirked, holding up a simple, plastic water bottle. "Though man, if this takes too long I might need a smoke, hopefully you're exaggerating on that three hour time." She took in a deep breath, her armored coat flapping slightly as she shifted, "What are the capabilities of this 'Boss Monster'-." She blinked as the suit left the room, "Ah, right. Suits. Only wanting to save their own hides. Gotta hate dealin' with them." She rubs her temples, "Alright, well, at the very least for anyone here who shall actually remain important for longer than the next 5 minutes, my name is Jin Nova, Ex-Private Investigator. Pleasure to meet those of you who matter in any capacity. To the rest of you, if you stay, hopefully there's not a family that will miss you."
  4. I'll throw up interest myself as well, modern psychics sounds like it's a fun idea
  5. Takehiko's clones steadily paced around Page Master, giving him space as he started to move forward. The clone holding the stick seemed to be eyeing the Pro Hero for any openings, "I do have to admit, us fighting a relatively unknown hero makes it difficult to find information to plan a coherent attack." He moved the stick slightly, seeming to notice that Page Master was wary of it. The hero J'adoube took a deep breath, "But we're heroes, we can overcome that." The stick-holding clone glanced to a nearby building, where another clone seemed to be portraying the battlefield through a pair of binoculars, speaking into its headpiece, "J'adoube King, reporting to J'adoube Knight and Team. Mr. Storyboreding has focus on the stick. Reposition and support Ren. We're going to have to take the heat of goodboy and try and change it to advantage." The clone with the stick gave a wide smirk, "Nah, it's all or nothing now!" The weapon-wielding clone darted forward, seemingly throwing caution to the wind, "If I get hit I just disperse, so we can swamp him!" He attempted to swing with as much force as possible at Page Master's feet, aiming to seemingly trip him, "Ren, Kio, follow up on a counter!"
  6. Personally in the actual world I'd likely fall into the role of Contestant, although unexpectedly, for the Toughness contest! Still such a shame that mechanic was removed... Barring that, well... likely a leader for Steel-type Pokemon, as the massive cuties need lots of love! A bit curious what @Blake and @Kazooie would think of me though personally, it always feels so strange trying to identify what you yourself would be! Even if @yui is able to know his niche and bloody sticks in it, hehe!
  7. Started a forum post about jank in MtG Card Discussions, it's strange as I feel nervous about posting in the forum for once lol. But... well, I decided I wanted to try supporting the site a bit more myself instead of just kind of snoozing on the sidelines, especially after I've seen how much you all care and I think it's legitimately a community I'm pretty happy I was introduced to!

  8. This is the first thread I've started here and honestly I just think it might be fun to have a place to discuss more Jank cards and strategies. Obviously everyone has differing opinions on what's considered Jank, so I'll define my own opinion on what I find Jank as. Strange, niche, and cards that experiment with the mechanics of the game are what I consider Jank. I welcome any discussion of cards here as these are some of the most obscure types of cards in the game, and can always add that bit of fun spice as your opponents across the table stop, laugh, and go 'Wait, that does -what-?' It's always enjoyable to watch your opponents make a new discovery of something they might not know about. I even personally have a Norin the Wary commander deck full of some fun strange cards, and am currently thinking of improving it to have Zedruu the Greathearted at the helm. While not necessarily Jank themselves, they have a certain creative lucrative nature when it comes to brewing more Jank-y decks. For now I'll start with 3 cards I suppose, a nice small number to start discussions for anyone who thinks they'd enjoy brewing these types of decks that tend to be around power level 2-4 out of 10. I know it's not a very common appealing thing to brew but there's just -so- many cards that are just interesting and would be such a shame to never see play. And as such, let's start this wonderful show and point out enticing interactions to wow everyone at the table! Mages' Contest is one of my favorite red counterspells. Red's take on counterspells tends to be things like Redirect or Deflecting Swat, but the flavor of forcing your opponent to put their life on the line to get their spell through means that you can manipulate them into a more squishy health total for yourself to aggro down or even burn. It's still fairly strong even in higher-life formats such as Commander, and this is definitely the fringe of what I'd consider Jank, as this card is most definitely still powerful in its own right. Grip of Chaos is... to put it lightly, I feel the single most infuriating card I've seen from friends across the table when I've dropped it. The best game I've had with it I warned everyone beforehand I was wanting to play my Chaos Norin deck, and another friend decided that his Kaervek the Merciless deck would synergize perfectly. Well... it definitely did, a little too well! Grip is a card that makes you have to read each cards exact wording, and of course I'm sure there were plenty of mistakes we made while this was on the board, but it also enabled incredible interactions. It's synergy with Kaervek being in a commander game was definitely something eyecatching and makes me happy I was able to play in. I noticed this little list was getting a bit too red for my taste, even if there -does- tend to be a lot of jank in red. But have you ever wanted to build a pinger deck or find a use for those board swathes that might only do 1 or 2 damage? Well this might be the funnest way to go that's in black. And if you're in some other colors you might be able to use Prodigal Sorcerer and Coumbajj Witches to tap and untap your way into slaughtering your opponents' board states with measly pingers. It's able to be built into a kill engine for any creatures around and once you can find other pieces lets your pingers have enough functionality to become kill cards. Those are just a few of my favorite jank cards, even if one of them is clearly on the verge of it. And of course all of these cards being jank is just my opinion, as there are even mainstream cards I could easily see arguments being made for being jank. I hope I might have introduced some cards that possibly were a bit lesser-known! And if not, well... suppose I'll have to post again soon! Can't wait to start this discussion with all of you and being introduced to cards for my own decks, makes me wish more people designed strange and wonderful cards!
  9. Kind of curious if anybody would enjoy me talking about Jank cards. Sounds like a fun idea, I'm just not sure there'd be enough people that enjoy that type of stuff to warrant starting anything with it. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, as Jank is some of my favorite stuff when it comes to card games.

Definitely recommend doing things, and also jank cards are great.

I'm sure that somebody out there will be interested in it. Heck, I even started a blog talking about generic Tag Force 1 characters, something I thought not a soul on this site would even bat an eye at initially, and it turns out people enjoy that. Definitely give your jank cards a try!

edit: I just woke up lol, just saw you went ahead and posted like right before I did. I'll give them a look

  10. "Well, if that's all the questions, I guess it's time to start this!" Dreadbolt reached out a hand to lean on a signpost, which promptly fell apart and to the ground, causing him to lose his balance and fall as well. "Just uh... Ignore you guys saw that, gahaaa..." Dusting himself off, he handed small maps to each of the four groups. "Here you guys go, this should show where each of your exams are being held. Try not to go in guns-blazing, I think the teachers might want to say something before the fight starts. They are educators, after all." Takehiko gave a small nod to Dreadbolt as he passed, donning his hero costume that was a rather simple blue outfit, not unlike what one might see on a male idol he supposed. It kept an earpiece but he felt it made him look more approachable, even as he made his way to the test venue with his team. “Students...while I’m not obligated to say this, I will remind you that you are to come at me with everything you have. Do not hold back on my part...otherwise...” Page Master closed the book loudly before adjusting his glasses slightly, the light glaring off the lenses as he addressed the students he was needing to deal with. “...you will fail this exam. Plain and simple. Now, if there are no further questions or concerns...” Page Master paused before opening the book once more and immediately pulling something out from the pages. “Pop-Up Style: Hounds of Baskerville!” J'adoube instinctively felt himself get into a more defensive position, watching as the hounds materialized in paper form although there seemed to be no attacks incoming as of yet... That's when he spotted that the briefcase currently in the clutches of his teacher, "Damn... there went that idea..." He seemed a bit annoyed at the teacher holding the objective on their person, as though he hadn't expected it. He tapped his earpiece for a moment, muttering something before returning his gaze to the objective. In the shadowed corner of a nearby building another J'adoube glanced around the corner, tapping back before slipping back into the building, as though searching for a way to higher ground. Before long Takehiko glanced to the rest of his team, "I should have immediate information if he leaves to another vicinity as long as my Pawn can spot him from a building vantage point. I thought he'd be guarding it somewhere behind him but looks like he's comfortable keeping it on his person... Ah, damnit, makes this a lot more stressful. I don't know if -I- can take a hit, so try to protect me to keep flow of info incoming, yeah?" He'd give a smile to the other members of his group, as though he were trying to insinuate this one speaking was a Pawn. He'd just have to hope they could catch on he supposed. "God it sucks going into this knowing the enemy has perfect info. Alright Page Master, let's see if you've read the Art of War against Team Rooking Memories!" He grinned as 7 pawns gathered around him, making a defensive wall with each one moving in front of the others. The one directly in front as the first line of defense having equipped itself with a rather large stick! "We'll poke for openings, get in attacks while he's distracted!"
  11. Takehiko nodded to Kio as he copied his quirk onto a disc drive, "Huh, so that's how you make them. Interesting that it's on a storage card, that definitely has... implications." He gave a small chuckle, glancing between them, "Ah, actually, I had my own idea as well..." After class had ended, Takehiko pulled out his phone to check on the status of his hero costume. It was relatively simple but he requested a frequent back-and-forth just in case the one making his costume needed any input or questions on how things should work. Although he noticed a small status saying it was done, so after a quick message went to go fetch his costume! ___________________________________________________________ Before too long, Takehiko found himself with the rest of the class on training field Epsilon, in front of their homeroom teacher. "I was told to promise you all that there won't be any robots in this exam. I am not really sure what that means, but Glory said it would make more sense to you all. This is the field you will be using for the exam. Each of your teams will be squared off against a mock-villain, AKA your own teacher! All four tests will be conducted simultaneously, but don't worry, we won't miss anything. There are cameras planted all over the testing area so that we can better evaluate your performance. Orikami and I will be observing over the cameras, though she declined to meet with you all today. She emailed me something about having lost her voice? Pretty funny for a lady so soft-spoken, eh? GAHAAAHAAHAHA!" Straightening himself back up, he did his best to address the youths with a serious tone, "So, do any of you have questions before this starts?" The Chess Hero looked to the rest of them, a small briefcase on his person as he was geared up in his costume. It looked as though it was modeled between a mix of a military commander and a male idol! It was a deep blue color, adorned with an earpiece, and various metals on his chest in the shape of medals. His glasses seemed to have gotten a bit of an upgrade while in-costume as well, now outfitted with what seemed to be a scanner, kanji constantly updating in one of the corners whenever he turned his head. In the city it seemed to merely be 'stone, metal, wood' if anybody paid enough attention to make it out. The Chess user gave a nod, "How does the faculty plan on guaranteeing our safety? And as well... what's their own win condition? I doubt it's as simple as simply knocking us all out." Dreadbolt gave a mighty guffaw, "Your teachers have been given the go ahead to use as much force as they deem necessary! Just be glad you aren't against Ruby Heart, I've heard she can be a stone-cold b-" He stopped abruptly, nervously adjusting his suit jacket, "A stone-cold bastion of peace, yeah!" "And your teachers win by incapacitating all four of you! Might that be by knocking you out, or immobilizing you in some other way!" Takehiko gave a small grimace at that, "Hm... well, I suppose we should make them misjudge the amount of force they need..." He turned to his two teammates, "I'll activate the button if the chance comes across, but fight to your heart's content. I'll try to place myself somewhere so I can coordinate our actions without being seen." He made sure to say that last part rather loud, as if he was trying to make sure more than just his team heard him.
  12. "I'm not good at explaining things with words. So I'll just explain it as best I can with pictures! That should work, right?" Takehiko glanced over the picture he saw Kio pushing into Ayane's face, grabbing it and holding it, turning it in all sorts of directions, "Well, from what you've... attempted to display, your sound rises over something, before transforming through some sort of command into kinetic energy that you can use to barrage things with soundwaves? Did I get it or am I way off?" He shrugs before placing the paper back on Ayane's desk. In the meantime, he noticed Kio had turned to speak to him, rather rudely if he was honest, though he supposed he could excuse it for the time being. After all, this was a test and likely to get his teammates nervous. "You. Start explaining your quirk in detail, now. I want access to all of your pieces as well, so make sure you give me the nitty gritty of each one." The Chess user gave a small hm, "Well, I suppose you were kind enough to divulge those two discs you have, if you're taking this seriously and willing to give out important information, I should be as well. I only know how to utilize two abilities of my Quirk, although my doctor informed me that mine shows semblances of a Multi-Stage Quirk and there are likely other abilities I know nothing of. Perhaps I'll figure out more of it through this test." He takes in a short breath, closing his eyes for a moment as he seems to concentrate on how to describe his abilities. "But anyways, my Quirk's Stage 1: Pawns. I'm able to form cognitive copies of myself that seem aware enough to be able to take tactical commands, write, and even act on their own through loose commands. The downside is that sometimes they may 'decide' that your instructions aren't correct, as I'm sure you've both seen me having difficulty with them from time to time. Utilize them carefully, and I can make a set amount of 8." "Now for my Quirk's Stage 2: Knight. I can utilize metal in the environment to wrap around myself in protective armor. While wearing that armor I gain enhanced agility, and enhanced reactions. I have to be able to see what's coming of course but it's almost like the world slows down for you alone to an extent, but if you use this mode I think I'd warn against trying to use heavier metal, it would merely slow down any bonuses the mode gives. I'd say Aluminum is probably the best type I've been able to find for common things, although I imagine there are rarer metals that may perform better." Takehiko gives a small frown, leaning back and rubbing the back of his neck, "I can try to answer questions you may have Kio but that's likely the best I can do for you for more in-detail explanations. Ah! I wonder if the Pawns would be able to utilize different discs of yours at the same time?" He nods to himself, closing his eyes and starting to think again, "And then we have the issue of Page Master... I think it's fair of me to suggest that none of us would be able to take that type of Quirk with ours, which I guess to an extent is the point?"
  13. Takehiko pushed up his glasses as the substitute teacher talked to the class, doing his best to appear as a proper student. He kept his hands folded in front of him over his desk, still thinking to himself why he had gotten interference. He was suddenly snapped out of his thought process by the substitute, tuning in to listen to whatever news they were about to be given. "It says here that you all are going to be facing off in teams of four against staff of the school… that seems a bit excessive… But anyway! I'm gonna go ahead and list off the teams now, so that you all can get to know each other better ahead of time, and make plans for the end of the week!" 'Teams? That's definitely odd for us to do... Are they concerned about our ability to work together?' "Next in line is Kanda Takehiko, Sanada Ren, Akagi Kio, and Ukemei Ayane! You four will be facing off against your literature teacher, Page Master!" Takehiko glanced to each student as he heard their names mentioned, paying more attention at his group. Crap. The only one he even remotely knew would have to be Ayane and even then that was only in passing. Maybe putting so much effort into developing specific relationships had been a mistake. He'd have to try and get to know them rather quickly if they were to take down... Page Master? "Wait. I don't know who that is. Do the others? Gah another group is fighting Ruby Heart, at least they have access to easy information. Being up in the popularity isn't exactly an advantage... I wonder if the other pro's realize that and is why they keep themselves under wraps? Hopefully I can find something on Page Master... ugh, otherwise I need to ask him..." Takehiko had begun whispering to himself, opening up to a new page of his journal past... around 5 pages of drawings his pawns had gotten to, "How do they even get ahold of this thing?" "Sir, could we maybe change seats for the time being, so that we can sit with our groups? It feels a bit, uh, [cacophonous] to be yelling across the room, when we could discuss amongst ourselves." "That's... probably a good idea. Did everyone hear Seigi? Move around so you are beside your teammates, okay?" Takehiko gave a glance up as he heard them ask to gather with their teammates, "Ah, that would likely be the best idea." He'd move over to Ayane, hoping there was an empty seat around. If not he could always stand, "Suppose we'll be working together eh? All I really remember about Page Master is his power is reliant on book's he's holding so... any of us have quirks to abuse that particular weakness?"
  14. Takehiko was minding himself as he chatted up Sun, before frowning as he put his hand to his ear, a loud crackling echoing into his ear, "What the...?" "Everyone, please make your way to the bus immediately! This is an emergency!" Takehiko found himself shocked as he heard the heroes calling for an emergency leave. Was there really that much of a rush to warrant it? Then... that static may have been something! He ordered his pawns to stay behind and hide in some of the rubbage in order to attempt to spy for what was going on. Hopefully his teachers had already been led to believe he was too much of a goody-two shoes to utilize them in that way. With a satisfied smirk he drifted off to the land of sleep, hoping he'd be able to glean together some of what was going on. ________________________________________ The next day he found himself deep in thought as he walked into school. He hadn't dismissed his pawns and was hoping they hadn't been caught. Usually they wouldn't listen but this was a rather important task he'd given them. Once he got to the classroom he not only found a substitute teacher, but a new student! He gave a small sigh, as someone that didn't know him or what he'd led people to believe was a small issue with skirting around things. Ah well, more practice for bringing heroes and civilians together! He... didn't even notice if eyes turned towards him as Takehiko was, admittedly... quite a bit late, his hair a bit disheveled and not looking as prim and proper as usual. "Ah, hello there! My name is Takehiko, pleased to make your acquaintance!" He gave a small, polite bow before going back to sit at his usual seat near the front. He folded his hands in front of his face, seeming to be rather deep in thought as he closed his eyes.
  15. Takehiko rubbed his chin as the newly introduced hero introduced herself and asked them to perform beach cleanup. That wasn't so bad, he hadn't planned on swimming anyways! He nodded along to a few of the topics she brought up. After she sent them off he made his way over to the water, wading through it and using his clones to check for anything dangerous. "Alright, once we're in deeper water we're going to practice breath training as we go, this is a perfect oppurtunity to train for rescuing someone underwater!" He gives a grin, wading into the shallows along with his clones. Every once in a while a clone would suddenly flounder and go under the murky depths, never to rise again. After about 40 seconds or so, Takehiko would let out a deep sigh, "OKAY, REGROUP. WASN'T EXPECTING THIS TO BE AN ISSUE FROM MULTIPLE OF YOU!" Takehiko's clones would gather around him, watching as he pressed his hands to his nose, "When you are grabbed by an -incomprehensibly- small crab, thinking it's guiding you to it's nest, do -not- follow it. Thankfully your idiocy in this case is useful for breath training, BUT STOP LETTING CRABS -ACCIDENTALLY- KILL YOU. YOU ARE GIANT MONSTERS COMPARED TO THEM, ACT LIKE IT! AND FURTHERMO-!" Takehiko blinked, looking back towards the beach as he saw the student known to him as Sun dragging a truck to a mountain of garbage, "Hm, something interesting might be happening..." He maneuvered himself over to the truck, completely ignoring his clones now, "Yo, Sun! You got a truck from somewhere? There's still some wildlife stranded in the shallows over here, think we could use the truck to transport them out of the more wasted parts? If we clear it enough we might be able to yank out garbage through a net and not have to worry about catching wildlife."
  16. Takehiko calmed down from his small attempt at rallying the other students, slumping as it didn't seem to have the intended effect. He gave a small sigh and scratched the back of his neck before starting to listen to Orikami, dutifully taking notes and keeping in mind what was expected of them. Once they were given out to the rest of the classes meeting all of the heroes seemed to go by like a blur, easily absorbing information, and seeming to excel in mathematics once they got there. He thought he was getting along for the most part with all of the teachers unless he was using his Pawns, although... he didn't want to say it but just being able to use them made him rather enjoy the school regardless! He took some time out of his days to try and hang out with Sun if he could ever catch him before he went home, although he... often tried to be a bit secretive about inviting him places, but had let the boy know he would always be welcome in his household should he wish. The first week seemed to fly by after that for Takehiko, constantly moving and working on things before his parents noticed a slip he had completely forgotten to take out of his jacket, "Oh! Yeah I uh, may want to get that signed if I want to go on this!" He grins a little as his dad took it and smirked, "Beach, eh? Hope ya got some cute gals in your class!" Takehiko let out a small sigh, "There's a couple but we're going to that school to focus on Hero Training, dad. I'm not going to belittle someone down to just how their body looks." His dad gave a snort, "Oh please, you and I both know you can think a girl is pretty and think about them in that way without being... eeeeh how do I put it? Skeevy?" Takehiko shook his head, "Even then what if that damages what other pro's may think of me in the future? And besides, I know you're just trying to get me on your side to get pictures!" He sighs and shakes his head, fanning his hand over his glasses, his father's eyes lighting up in excitement, "That's my boy, pleeeeease? I'll teach you... the recipe." Takehiko glances up towards him, eye twitching a little, "I know what you're doing, and I don't like it. If I take any pictures with the girls they will be sensible. Now would you please just sign the form?" He sighs, watching as his own father pouted and went to sign the form, before his mother walked in! "Oh, a beach trip? Get plenty of pictures of the boys and girls for me!" Takehiko frowned and rubbed his temple slightly, "I wonder if there's a way I can stay out of this..." _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Once the day of the trip came around, he noticed the bus was slowly filling once he managed to get there, "I need to get better about sleeping in..." He rubbed the back of his neck and gave a small stretch, glancing around before taking one of the second-row front seats. "I wonder if that Diana girl is around, I might need some help making sure my dad isn't an idiot..." He flicked his glasses up, before pulling out a cloth and starting to wipe them, "Idiot is gonna get himself hurt if he tries to do something like that." He placed the glasses back on his face, waiting for Diana and flagging her down to sit next to him once she stepped on the bus. "I understand if you're uncomfortable sitting with me, but I may require your aid in ascertaining the location of an individual who I shall refer to as an 'undesirable' in relation to this trip. He is a good man but mislead in the fact he asked me to attain photos of my own classmates and as such I believe is deserving of a light-hearted prank. I decided you'd be the best to talk to since you might be the most... well there's no polite way to say this, but, uncomfortable with your body?" "...[Aaaaand] you need me why?" "Because I need help keeping an eye out in case the idiot decides to try and show up. Especially if this becomes something dangerous from what you said I think I'd trust you to be the one to get him out so he's still alive when I give him an earful."
  17. Takehiko got ready to charge along with Sun, before seeing him beat him by a wide margin and smash into the T-rex, "Well... I suppose as long as the threat is dealt with..." He'd give a small unnoticeable pout as he went to go back inside, "Ugh, this armor is so heavy... I wonder if I could get a costume that can adapt the material faster so I don't have to keep wrecking things." __________________________________________ After Takehiko returned to the classroom he looked up and waved to the new teacher, taking his seat near the front. "My name is Sessho Sadako, but I would prefer if you all referred to me by my hero name. Paper Hero - Orikami. I was brought here by the Hero Public Safety Commission to teach the Traditional Heroics course here at U.A." she paused, silently surveying the room full of youths, her gaze seemingly to pierce into their very souls, "This means that, while the other teachers here will be handling your standard education, I will oversee your progress toward becoming true heroes." With a snap of her fingers, the blackboard behind her opened up, revealing several screens behind it. On them, various clips of footage of the students' battles with the machine's played. "I will be transparent with you all, class 1-B completed the challenge in approximately one fifth of the time it took you all to do so. The student who encountered the Thunderjaw managed to defeat it on her own." Orikami smirked subtly, carefully gauging the students' reactions to such a revelation, "However, this means your class was able to display something that 1-B was not afforded the opportunity to: teamwork." The screens showed looping clips of each of students' attacks toward the giant machine, and how they wove together to take it out. After Orikami watched the videos with a silent smile of pride, she turned back to the class as the videos cut to Yasha and Rei running from the security bots. However Takehiko had basically stopped listening, his armor having been discarded outside training area as he utilized his pawns and had them each pull out a notebook as they started reviewing seperate tactics in the video to utilize later. Each of them appeared to be writing on a seperate subject to those who looked closely, and to those who looked even more closely 3 of the clones were simply pretending to write. One even going so far as to draw Takehiko's face with devil's horns coming out of it. Takehiko himself however would give a small clap, "Congratulations are well warranted for you two, you definitely deserve the praise. However..." A small glint shown in his glasses, "We're all in the belly of the beast now, and you've shown yourselves to be the one's to surpass to make it. And I'm going to make that promise now that I'll make -sure- I'll be even better! Isn't that right Sun? We can totally do better! You were slacking!" His voice came off as kind of a tease but... he wasn't sure if Sun would get that. "Now then, Miss Orikami, was it? My only request... no, demand I'd say is more fitting, train us into the best heroes all of us can possibly be so that well all meet beyond your expectations. I also want to personally say I think Sun at least deserves some acknowledgement, he's a bit foolish in regards to how he handles himself but he definitely acted towards more of a hero than I thought was completely necessary and even if you don't acknowledge him yourself I want to at least let him know that I do." "While he did make efforts to protect you, it seems that you were not in much need of protection. His efforts are commendable, but not remarkable." "Oh, and, one more thing. I'm sitting in the front of the class to make everyone behind me know they're chasing me, so don't fall too far behind! I'd hate to leave jewels covered in my dus-" His eye twitched as he seemed to see something out of the corner of his eye, turning to his clones as one of them had suddenly vanished, "You're all dismissed and you are not allowed to send memories to me, fanart of myself in the teacher's hero costume is impermissible." He held his head in his hand as he swore he felt a migraine coming on.
  18. <ALERT! ALERT! TOTAL OF 16 VILLAINS DETECTED IN TRAINING COURSE ZETA! ALERT! ALERT! LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES COMMENCING! MUST EXTERMINATE!> Takehiko heard the sirens starting to blare even from the center of the training ground, "Villains?" He tilts his head before hearing, "DON'T WORRY SMALL BOY! THE MONKEY KING IS GOING TO SAVE YOU!!!" the *CRUNCH* of metal tearing apart to accentuate the scream! The minotaur-bot's leg snapped at the knee, causing it to keep over to the side. The second it hit the ground, he jumped up onto it once again, grabbing hold of its right arm and tearing it clean off. Bringing it back down toward its owner's head, he crushed the robot's central 'brain' in a single swing, as the horns embedded in his makeshift club, making an even better improvised weapon for his next bout. Turning toward the 'helpless' boy he rescued, he grinned, propping the robot's arm against his shoulder, seemingly unfazed by its weight. "Hi! I'm Sun!" Takehiko gave a small sigh, slipping the 'helmet' of the knight armor off of his head, "Yeah, I know that Sun. While I appreciate the save why exactly are you introducing yourself to me when there's something to be more worried about? I promise ya I can take care of myself." He gives a small smirk and re-equips the helmet, latching it in place, "Although, with you here... Maybe we can utilize our quirks together to take care of those villains that were announced? We both seem to have pretty advanced reactions at the very least..." He crossed his arms before glancing towards where a rather loud roar could be heard, "What... is that noise?" He frowned as he turned towards it, eyes widening as he saw a rather large T-rex crashing through the training ground. "Sun, go check on what's going on there if you can, I'm gonna go wide and search the 8 directions to make sure everyone's okay." He'd activate his quirk as all of the armor fell off of his body, a useless discarded phone booth now, "Mode:Pawn!" His body shimmered for a moment before shifting into 8 clones, the small communicators on their ears being activated as Takehiko tapped at it, "Pawns advance for Rescue Duty, check any rubble to make sure nobodies been collapsed on, maneuver: Cardinal!" The pawns nodded before starting to dash off in every direction except for the T-rex. "And that leaves me with you, Sun, take the lead!"
  19. Amely glanced towards her set card, giving a small gulp, “My turn, draw!” She ripped the card out of her duel disk, flipping it to give it a glance before turning it around, holding out her hand to the card on the field, “I activate my spell card, Advanced Ritual Art! It allows me to send 1 normal monster from my deck to my graveyard in order to ritual summon a monster that meets that exact level. And so, my honorable opponent, I send the demented warrior: Dark Warrior to his deserved place in the afterlife to bring forth Paladin of Photon Dragon!” “Next, I shall tribute my new comrade in order to summon a more worthy dragon for the title of knight: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!” She grabbed the Paladin off of her disk before slipping it into her graveyard slot, the Galaxy-Eyes shooting out of her deck and into her hand as she placed it into the field. “I now activate my spell card, Fulfillment of the Contract, in order to return my honorable knight, Lord of the Red, to his dutiful service!” Her life points drained down from 2500 to 1900, giving a small wince as it did before Lord of the Red was summoned from a burning tablet that appeared on the field! “Now, Lord of the Red, attack!” She smirks as Lord of the Red was surrounded in a giant blaze before slamming forward and into her opponent, “And now for the roar of the galaxy!” Batteryman D jumped in place, trying to avoid the charge, but ultimately, it was doomed to explode into sparks. She holds an armored hand forward, Galaxy-Eyes Photon dragon rearing back before spewing a beam of spatial energy! “And with that magnificent attack, I end my turn!”
  20. "Alrighty then! We've got about a week left, so we should get as much practice in as possible, yeah!?" Amely gave a small giggle at Vega's excitement, shifting around in the 'outfit' she typically wore to these meetings, a custom-fitted suit of armor. She only ever wore it when she was dealing with the card game but... it was still pretty frequent! "I do believe it would definitely be in our best interests to practice as much as possible." "We also don't have a team name yet, but I'm sure Ms. Eda can whip something up for us, even if we don't quite get one in time. So I was thinking... Whyyy don't we pull sticks and duel against whoever? Y'know, instead of sticking to the others who know our style best. I even have some popsicle sticks ready! I marked two of them with blue, to face off first, another two with red for second, and left two of them unmarked. Sounds like fun, yeah?" Amely seems to blink for a moment as she pulls one of the red sticks, looking over as... Kendra pulled out yet -another- sugar drink. She gave a small sigh, reaching into a slip in her armor that could be used as a pocket and writing something. "Kendra, it appears that we'll be the one's facing off in combat for this session! Although..." Amely puffs her cheeks out, "If he wasn't here already I'd suggest a re-draw because we all know Matt would totally be late and hold the rest of us up! But I suppose if we're doing it immediately it's not a massive issue..."
  21. "Oh so you made those! Good job! They were delicious!" Kio slammed his hands onto the boys desk. "Surely, if you're too tired, you could use some assistance! I gotta see how you made them for myself!" Just then, a sudden shaking seemingly began to rattle the school. Most of the other students were also alerted by the shaking. He gave a nod to Diana, "You're fine, I'm not expecting to be known completely by day one." Takehiko gave a smile and opened his mouth to respond, before feeling the shaking begin as a woman walked inside, a woman named Epicenter! He felt himself feel a bit wary, a small bead of sweat going down his cheek. He takes a deep breath before they were led outside, trying to keep closer to the front of the pack! ____________ "This is where we'll be introducing ourselves, our quirks, AND our hero names to each other! Please state your name to the class, and head on inside! There are tons of training robots running around here, kinda like your practical exams! Don't be afraid to go all out against them either. And don't take it too easy, because they won't do the same for you. You won't be aiming for points this time around, but everyone has to destroy at least one robot before exiting, is that c-c-clear?! If you have any questions, I'll be all ears. I'm excited to meet you all today!" Takehiko watched the girl he had been talking to clench her fist before speaking up. "[Yo ro shii coo! Wadashi no Diana Seigi!] Sorry if my Japanese is a little messed up, but I'm sure I got this next part right! I'm gonna be the [Seigi no Hiiro - Artemis Justice! Ganbare miinah!]" He gave a nod as he watched her charge in, sighing and adjusting his glasses somewhat before turning to address other students. His mouth opens his mouth before he's rushed past by Yasha, his eye slightly twitching as the guy loudly yelled out. After he headed in, Takehiko once again adjusted his glassess. "It's my pleasure to meet you all, my name is Kanda, Takehiko, and my own quirk is simply Chess. I can pull in things from the environment to emulate game pieces. Hero Name of J'adoube!" Takehiko walked inside of the city-like training ground, going up to a phone booth before going inside and putting his hand to the metal box. "Mode: Knight!" His body caused the metal to nearly liquefy as it remolded itself around his body, forming a bright red armor with a closed visor before a longsword formed in his grip, "Knight Technique: Skilled Footwork!" Right before a rather bulky robot seemed to slam it's fist where Takehiko was, there was a loud 'CLANG' as Takehiko's sword found itself embedded in the space between the robot's fingers! Takehiko gave a small smirk, "You poor fool." He gave a twist of his sword, ripping the robot's hand off before he decided to be a bit more showy, dodging the electrical sparks that showered out of it while he gave a quick swipe of his sword, smoke starting to rise from his sword as it burned a bright red from the intense heat focused on the tip of the sword, gathered from the flying sparks, before he gave a quick thrust forward, "Knight Technique: Eyes J'adoube!" His sword found the tip slicing around the ankle of the robot exactly enough to cause it to groan and topple onto it's back, before he finished the human-sized robot by stabbing the heated tip into it's throat.
  22. -April 16th, 2000- -10:30 AM- -Diluculo Branch 25, New Jersey- Akiko held the bridge of her nose, doing her best not to let her annoyance show. She was quiet for the most part, but responsive to her teammates should they ask her anything. She gave a small nod to the major as she made her way over to the cafeteria, grabbing a few things to eat from what she could manage to scrounge together, mainly fruits. She could still be found in the cafeteria after she ate, seeming to be in... contemplation for the most part. If those types of people that were willing to get themselves killed existed maybe she should be around to make sure they didn't hurt themselves. "Ugh, that's such a soft take... Why don't I just become the big damn hero while I'm at it..." She gave a small chuckle, holding her head in one of her hands, "Liars can't be the big damn hero anyways...//Lies are just evils that everyone utilizes..." She froze for a moment, "Ugh, why does it sound so weird when I do it to myself...? Like an overlapped recording..."
  23. Takehiko looked up as more of his classmates piled into the room, happily letting them go after the snacks he had brought, although his smile cracked a little at a few of the more... vulgar of his new classmates. He sighed, "Not everyone has the same tastes I suppose..." He adjusted a small headset a bit, muttering something incoherent into it to those who weren't close to him, "C3 you were supposed to warn if anyone with dangerous quirks came in?! How stupid are you!?" He seemed to sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose, "Ducks? You got distracted by ducks...? No, no, it's fine, just... uuuugh you're dismissed..." He groaned and leaned back slightly, "Well here's hoping I can do better than them." Takehiko looked as he noticed the classroom was quite full now! He gave a glance over to the girl on his left, she seemed upset about something, "Ah, hey, are you okay...? I'm sorry I got a bit zoned out taking care of something..." The guy hadn't even paid attention there had been a chainsaw murderer-like hero only just seconds ago! "Oh, did all of the Monaka get eaten? Hopefully I wound up bringing enough... I uh, don't know if I have the energy to make more..."
