Team Karaoke, Alpha "but, well, I trust you and Lok and really you could've asked me to help any time." Gwen felt relieved about most of what Nine said. Except for that part. She couldn't meet the Houndoom's eyes. No, she really couldn't have asked any time. She didn't even know she had something that she wanted his help with until they got here. But would he understand if she told him that? So she just gave him a small smile. "Well I suppose it all worked out anyway. I thank you...Honestly, I was worried. I should have gotten many more to help yet it seemed that I couldn't keep more than one with me. I really messed this up didn't I?" All those people who were supposed to be her allies that had abandoned her along the way. The fact that only one, not counting their most recent addition, had come along this far really showed her the nature of the people here. She let out a gasp at Shaymin's sudden departure. "W-wait, no, you don't have to...fight..." She said, arm outstretched, but the girl had taken off. Lok went after her but Gwendoline hesitated. She glanced back at her father and the Enforcer, both with grim expressions, and then back towards where Shaymin was running, a look of fear in her eyes. Kayla was already on the move as Shaymin began to run. Easily able to keep pace with the Legend and even getting out in front of her without being noticed. Until she decided to reveal herself, a couple dozen feet in front of the girl. "Um. Hold on....please." The girl said, practically under her breath. Team Alola, Trailsau Allie grimaced as she saw the face under Nani's mask. "And they call me a monster." She muttered, recoiling slightly. As Marie's water attack struck the back of her knee she cursed and buckled. Just barely forcing herself to stay upright instead of falling to the ground. The hit left a burning feeling on her leg and she figured that she'd be feeling that for a while. Then Nani kicked her in the same place again and Allie felt a rib crack. Cursing again she went to slam her fist into the girl's ugly face but paused. She turned towards Randy swiftly and, as the Incineroar came down with a Brick Break, created a shield out of her Stone Edge. The attack cracked the hastily made weapon and broke through. Allie's eyes widened slightly in surprise as she pitched herself to the side. Landing on her side, and crying out in pain, she rolled back up to her feet. "Shit, shit, shit." She muttered, stumbling back into a combat stance. She kept her eyes on Randy and Nani, dark aura surrounding her body, as she attempted to steady her breathing. Things were getting worse for her but she didn't plan on backing down. "I've still got enough fight in me to take you down." She snarled. But what about after? She bit her tongue. She'd worry about that after burying these guys. Team Showdown, Skuldafn "We are but humble servants of his Greenne-...his Highness. He has demanded that we seek council with your Elder, for guidance with the upcoming battles he faces. As you could plainly see, his almighty Twister is what brought us to Skuldafn." "As my friend said, we have been sent here by Lord Rayquaza himself." Isole wasn't surprised to see Scarlet bowing but something about Taiga did it just made her stomach curl. It seemed so disturbingly unnatural that Isole had to stare at the girl for several moments to be sure that it was, indeed, Taiga there. The Druddigon looked to her and she didn't meet their eyes. She regretted having spoken up in the first place so she just bowed her head and muttered. "What they said." They looked towards each other, uncertain. "I did think that the Twister felt like it contained great power." One of them offered. "Yeah, their story might be true...I don't get why he didn't send a Dragon though..." "I'll go get the elder. Stay here with them." And with that one of the Druddigon left. The other watched the three warily as several minutes passed. And several more. Isole was getting more anxious as she felt the Dragon's gaze linger on her and she tried to keep her calm as to avoid the chilly air around her from spreading. Finally there was movement. But it wasn't the other Druddigon, nor did it look like any sort of elder. Instead it was a tall girl with a horn and long tail. "Lady Lysa!" The Druddigon said. "But, the elder..." "My father is communing with the spirits." the girl said. "I decided to come see the strangers myself." She looked at the three and shook her head. "Stand up straight, I will not have anyone enter our city bowing and scraping." With a gesture for the guard to remain at his post she started her way back up the steep path leading towards the mountains. The path curved towards the right, then left, leading them between a pair of mountain peaks, until finally they ended at the top of a hill. From their position they could see the entirety of the city. It was much smaller than Isole had expected, compared to other cities, with what seemed like less than a hundred buildings. They all were made of stone and were without roofs. The city itself was nestled between more mountains. Surrounded on all sides except for a single path by the menacing landmarks. From their position they could see that the one area that looked different from the others was built into the side of the mountain at the far end of the city. A place with several faded statues of draconic warriors. On the mountain itself seemed to be a large, circular, door. Lysa gestured down at the village. "This is Skuldafn, it is a place that not many of non-Dragon origin have seen. I will bring you to the elder if you wish but remember. If you come here to cause any trouble even the weakest among us would be more than a match for any of you." She said it proudly, with complete confidence she was right. Team Mac, Ogren "I just hope that we'll be ready, and that nobody gets hurt. But I know...some people are gonna get hurt anyway." "Well that's easy." Mac said, rolling her eyes. "All we gotta do is make sure to beat up the bad guys right? Doesn't matter how big a fight it is if we win before anyone else can be hurt." She looked Ari up and down and mentioned. "Say, have you gotten taller since we first met? You look...I dunno, bigger somehow." "So, what do you wanna do? You wanna rest until morning, or go wandering now?" "Ew, who'd wanna rest after all that excitement?" Mac said. "Come on let's see if there's something else to do! Plus I bet your mom wants to hear all about how you beat up a bad guy." She grinned at Kazo. With everything calming down Tornadus took their leave and the group got out of the way of those going around cleaning up the mess left behind. As they went through the city they'd notice the adults looking warily at them, as if unsure what to think about the strange group anymore. However the younger denizens of Ogren were a different story. As they walked around they slowly picked up a herd of kids following them. It wasn't until Mac spun around to confront them that they said anything. After arguing among themselves who was going to step up. "Hey. Uh. So you guys fought with The Great Green One right? What was he like? How'd it feel? Did he teach you any cool moves? Why did he let you help him if you're all so small?" After the first moment of hesitation the kids swarmed them and began asking all sorts of questions revolving around Tornadus. Team Neo Not Dark, Merm Palace Dora seemed to forget her suggestion of a picnic once Brooke picked her up but Phione had latched onto the idea. "What is...a picnic?" She asked. "Is that what you are bringing me to?" Upon deciding to head out Dora declared that she would lead them back. Then, realizing that she was being held, corrected herself. "Brooke will lead us!" Then she proceeded to give directions to the woman by way of pointing with her head. Behind them Doug called out, responding to Brooke, "Oh that's all right." as they left. Dora started to lead them directly towards the sound of voices with the logic of, "If there are people there then the people here should go to the people there." Once told this would be a bad idea she remembered where they were supposed to go. "To the 'go away' place!" She called out and led them back to the throne room. There they found that the throne was slid to the side and a stairway could be seen under it. Standing in front of it was a Kingdra, one Easter had seen earlier. He looked at the group sadly. "So, this is how you were going to do it then?" He positioned himself in front of the stairs. "I don't know why the queen let you take Dora, maybe you tricked her, or convinced her using her kind nature, but...I'm told the king has ordered us to keep her here. So...just give up now so this doesn't have to get violent."

Oh, damn right. If your opponent chooses to give you the draw, then it's barely better than Jar of Avarice, except for the spell speed 4 that won't let either player follow up the chain with effects of lower speeds xD You may be onto something then. Bet Counter Fairies would prefer this over Jar of Avarice, at least.

Got no idea. Even if you were to reduce the card draws to 1, and limit it to Spell/Traps or monsters, it would still be better than Dark Bribe/Recall, which still see some use, although at the moment they are mostly outclassed by the Solemn Traps.

IIRC I have seen custom cards with a similar effect or intent: to force the opponent to drop its monsters from the hand, not only neutering most hand traps, also giving you the chance to pick on them before they turn into combos. Not sure if I like it because depending on the match-up it can be devastating for the opponent, or for you. Thus, it's a meta call at best, which is not a bad thing, but makes its effectiveness dependent on the format.

Quick fix: When your opponent activates a card effect: They can have you draw 3 cards, otherwise negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. Anyway, not a fan. I cannot think of any situation where the opponent would rather give you 3 card draws, even if they would have to forsake their combo starter like Knightmare Mermaid and whatnot, because chances are the 3 draws will provide tools to counter whatever follow-up it has. Thus, this is practically a better Solemn Judgment because it has no LP cost, and unlike Judgment it can stop monster effects anywhere.

Belle stared at Dennis blankly. While he really did remind her of herself before, right now he didn't at all. She had never had this much trouble talking to somebody, she just...never wanted to talk to people. But he seemed constantly nervous and on edge, and now he was turning red at that. Was she really that scary? Her expression darkened. Well, other people seemed to think so. Ignoring the thought, and the emotions it brought, the girl watched as Ivan, reluctantly, apologized. He seemed more willing to apologize to the Haunter than Dennis, which Belle didn't really understand, since it was the Haunter who had used Hypnosis on him Still, whatever floated his boat. "Now that we're all fine and dandy can we get out of here?" "But I'm not done," Belle looked up, tone flat as usual, and held out the comic book as a demonstration. "Yeah, we can get going now." Shooting a look over to Belle, Jacklyn said, "of course, you can't go exploring sitting down, so let's get up Belle! And don't steal his comics. That'd be rude." Belle stared at the ground reluctantly, unwilling to rise just yet. After all, getting up meant moving, which meant exercise, which meant they would have to leave, which meant she couldn't finish the comic book. Finally, she sighed, pressing both hands to the floor as she lifted a leg, setting her foot down on the floor, and then the other one, slowly rising up as she did so. "Ugh, fiiine. Here ya go," she said, giving the comic book back to Dennis. "Alright gang, let's get ready to get to more adventure!" Giving a wave to Dennis the purple-haired girl said, "later." And with that, the girl headed down the ladder. "Bye," Belle said. "It was fun. I'm glad I got to read some Gligarman." She really wished she could have stayed longer and read more of his latest exploits, but those were the breaks. She paused, unsure if she should say more. The cartoons always had another step during goodbyes, like a hug, but she was no good at those. Still, a pat on the shoulder wouldn't hurt right? Leaning up a little, she patted the boy awkwardly on the shoulder. Turning to the Haunter, the girl decided that that thing did not deserve a pat. So instead, she said, "Bye," before following Jacklyn, and Ivan if he had already left, down the ladder.

Yue was hoping that Rona would agree, and then they could return to the camp and hopefully forget that Yue didn't really get much, that she had made a mess of things in front of the person she looked up to most here in the Iron Falcons, but no. Rona wanted to go deeper into the forest. Which sounded like a really, really bad idea. "I-I don't think that's such a--" but the girl had already turned around and began to walk. Pausing, Yue thought about heading back. After all, the smell of freshly-spilled blood would no doubt attract predators if they lingered here, but the idea of leaving Rona to herself was...abhorrent. Or some other word for a terrible, no-good, and very bad idea. Or maybe that was what following Rona was. Still, she couldn't leave her alone in a forest she didn't know either. Rona was good at many things, but she didn't know woodcraft like Yue did. So, with a heavy heart, the archer followed. And it turned out, Yue was right. There was something odd about this forest, this atmosphere. Because there was a dead bear in front of her. The girl frowned. Bears were apex predators, and not much could take them down aside from human beings or another bear. But as they approached it became apparent that neither had taken down the bear, but instead, monster hounds. Both hounds and bear were covered in bite marks. It looked to have been a bloody battle, but there was a particular set of teethmarks that was even more suspicious. It was larger, the wound cauterized. "This wasn't done by a natural beast." Rona muttered. "Something dangerous is out here." She hesitated. "Well, I didn't hunt it myself, but no point letting this meat go to waste." "I-is that safe?" Yue asked. Still, the blood looked clear and red. There probably wasn't any venom involved, but you never knew with monsters. Though...the one wound looked less venomous and more... "This isn't good," she murmured. "Why here...in a forest? That's the worst kind of place for..." she trailed off, shaking her head, before looking up at Rona pleadingly. "We're going back, right?"

Stella went to take a sip of her drink as Vivian gave a response with her usual enthusiasm behind it. The girl wasn't entirely sure what her roommate may have been expecting, and outside of food and she supposed showing Vivian a cityscape - one different from the array of tree houses that were in her head - she didn't really know what they would do once they were there. It wasn't as if Stella even really knew what sites to see or what to do in her free time, spending most of her time indoors anyway. No. That was more a job for Kelsey if anything. As Stella started to drift in her own thoughts, the girl was soon pulled back as Vivian had asked pictures of her. Oh. That was a much simpler way of figuring out what Vivian's home was like. Of course, the other girl had asked her first, and so rummaging through her pocket, the girl picked out her phone. Scrolling through it for a bit she said, "no worries. Here. Like I said, it isn't much - really, it might be even less than what you're expecting. But well, it's probably much different than what you're used to." Scrolling through the pictures, Vivian would see that most of the scenery was that of an urban center. Steel and concrete buildings that shot high into the air, some into the skyline. Paved roads decorated with street lamps and filled to capacity with cars. A small block of grassy area sectioned off from the rest of the city, with its only real similarity to the rest of the images being the amount of pigeons that gathered around. The roads and buildings themselves seemed poorly maintained, yet still functional. There were also a few other things of note that Stella herself realized, much to her embarrassment, as she scrolled through these photos. Firstly, there weren't many of them, and she had very nearly scrolled through her whole library in almost no time flat. Stella was not a habitual photographer after all. Secondly, nearly all of the images in some way either included either herself, Kelsey, or both. The only exception to this being one from the day she had gotten her phone, a picture with her and her father smiling over a birthday cake. Blushing a bit as she scrolled into this image, Stella cleared her throat saying, "well, that's about it. I'm sure Kelsey has more photos if you asked her." As Stella moved to put her phone away, she then paused for a moment. Scrolling out of her album and instead to her messages, the girl seemed disappointed for a moment before putting it away. Remembering what she wanted before, she looked back to Vivian saying, "oh um, right. I also can't really picture where you live. Or, well, I think I'm way off the mark."
