With some sense of resolve to look out for Cross, Noibat was ready to blaze a trail on the second floor for everyone. Except that as she looked around, just as with the previous set of stairs, she was surrounded by all the other Pokemon who had gone up the stairs after her as if they'd all arrived at the same time. This time it was even more confusing for being in the front of the pack. To alleviate the mental disorientation setting in, her ears fired off a ping to get a feel for the new room. And knowing it was more of the same was sort of relieving. She knew exactly where she sat in the room and that was about the most sure she could be of anything today. Further grounding her was knowing exactly where everyone else was. All fourteen of them exactly where they should be. "Fourteen? How many Falinks are there again?" Noibat thought as she turned around to see she was practically surrounded by three more Cleffa, with several Staryu and a Minior. That explained the count. Others in the group around her sprung into action engaging in fights with the aggressing Pokemon in the room. "Thanks for the wall....s" Noibat said to the six-fold friend that had immediately taken to the frontlines. "Hate when games pull this crap, ambushing you out of nowhere." She grumbled to no one in particular, not even herself given she couldn't remember the actual gameplay of the games that came to mind, before finally getting airborne to take stock of the battle. Hector was exchanging blows with all of the Cleffa until the Clobbopus threw one away and into the water. Z. was busy with one and Es had been trying to attack the now thrown and defeated Cleffa. With one Cleffa out already Noibat's confidence was soaring to unearned highs given her uncertainty if she could even reproduce another Gust let alone figure out what other moves she had. But for now she took to getting away from the fairies that she was sure would have mugged her had not the others moved so quickly and moved to intercept the only currently open path to Cross who was staying in a corner of the room. "I'm a bat now what do bats do" Noibat asked herself as her attempts at mustering another Gust only proved to destabilize her flight. Then it clicked. "Right I probably know Bite!" She declared with a smugness that did not fit the obviousness of the statement. As it happened Noibat did not know Bite so she simply latched her mouth onto one of the Staryu's pointy ends and attempted to dig into its hard shell of a body to no effect. Come to think of it this was the worst target to try this on in the room except perhaps the sentient rock. There were nice soft Cleffa in the room her teeth probably could have pierced Bite or no. Her confidence dashed, she almost panicked before remembering vampire bats were a thing so maybe she could suck it's blood out. Kind of gruesome for a kid's game but this was life or death. While completely ignorant of her status as a fruit bat, the idea was not without its merits as Noibat began to feel a strange sensation. Not blood but energy seeping out of the Staryu and into herself. Except it abruptly stopped just as soon as it started. Trying to capture the feeling again while continuing to cling to the target the flow of energy started once more this time really getting going. Rather than think herself some kind of actual vampire, Noibat knew enough about Pokemon games to call this for what it was. "Gigadrain? Am I part plant?" A confused Noibat asked incorrectly naming her Absorb through a mouthful of starfish. She'd have to try photosynthesizing if they ever got out of the endless caves. She'd get a leg up on the plant theory soon as the Staryu readied and fired a Water Gun at her. She'd definitely never felt water move like that with how it nearly knocked the wind out of her. It wasn't the worst thing she'd ever felt but that wasn't appreciated. It was enough she'd let go of the thing with her mouth and climbed back a bit higher into the air.

"It wouldn't be a fair competition if only one of us had luck on our side." Elita took a little breath as she took a few steps away from the exhausting manchild preparing to destroy the titan. Perhaps she had been a bit curt there, but there wasn’t much time for her to fully explain the depths of fear coming from whoever was in there. With the Tower starting to turn away from her, this gave her an opportunity to breathe, along with continuing to neutralize some of the stray animations as she focused herself. “This fear… It connects to each creation and gives it the ability to move, fascinating… If only I could learn how to do this myself…” It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to experience what the purity of emotions can do, even one as basic and innate as fear. Unfortunately, she couldn’t take the time to study how this fear is really connected to anything. Right now, she had a task to do… And no way to actually do it. "I can get us in," A voice, not the man from earlier though. "Not afraid of heights, are you?" She waited as Sei prepared for them to take off, her eyes scanning the large tower as she focused for a moment. Most likely, she would have to follow the strengthening feeling of fear inside of the titan… Which had the added benefit of meaning the connection to anything animated inside the tower would be much, much stronger. It was unlikely she would be able to dispatch them quite as easily as she could down here, a sad side effect of strong emotions. "I like the sound of that. Name's Sei, and I'll be your personal pilot and security for this job." Elita braced herself for the rough, jerking motion of being launched into the air, one arm holding onto the purse slung over her shoulder. She had no intention on leaving it behind as the two of them took off, before speaking again, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sei. It would have been preferred for it to be under more pleasant circumstances though.” Elita kept herself focused as they soared into the air, swallowing gently as they were ascending far above the situation below. “...It would be a wonderful view, if not for the chaos…” She briefly heard Sei’s warning to brace herself, a deep breath being given as she nodded her head and awaited their incoming crash. She brought her purse up to shield her face as the duo crashed through the glass, a deep breath escaping her once again, as she stood up now that they were in the belly of the beast. “...The fear is a fair bit deeper. It’s connected to the Titan itself, which means we need to be on our guard.” She brought her hand to the wall next to her, noting that her dress had been ripped in a few spots from the glass as she closed her eyes, “...It’s animating many things, including the walls. It’s remarkable that it can still give life to things on the ground as well. I'll disable what I can, but as we get closer, it will get harder for me." "Then we'll have to go deeper," Sei observed, the wings on her back fading as the skin over much of her body noticeably became rougher. "Among other things, I can put up barriers to protect us. I do this kind of thing for a living, so don't worry about getting hurt or killed in here." "...I do the protecting people thing," Sei clarified, upon realizing that it may not have been clear. "Not the breaking into buildings thing. Or whatever this all counts as. Protecting people. That's my day job." She didn't mention that the walls being animated meant that they were probably going to make the trip more confusing... But she figured that went without saying anyway. She began to follow the trickle of fear coming from deeper, deeper, yet deeper still as she tried to trace each strand near the two of them. It took more focus than she was used to expending. Her hand fished inside of her bag for a moment, lingering there as she mumbled gently, "Stop moving." She knelt down, taking a look at the rug on the floor ahead of them, "It's animated. One of the simple ones, but it likely would pull from underneath us." She placed a hand on it, keeping calm as she forced her own emotion through the fear connecting to the rug, "I... Cannot say how many objects are connected. The projection is so strong and reaches all over the tower. Be prepared for the worst as we move."

“Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.’” -Genesis 1:29 (NIV)It was decided. They didn’t even have to vote Fen as the team’s leader as nobody really stepped up to oppose her, and it was for the same reasons, that same apathy, that caused Melissa to take the mantle as the primary caretaker of Bartleby the Slakoth. It took a few moments to lug the beast on her back up to her room and then come back down for the box Fen had made, plus adding a mental note to get a proper bed for it on the shopping trip (or when she got back; she had the technology for that now), not to mention all the normal “getting ready for the day” stuff that still needed to happen. Eventually, though, everyone together set off in search of whatever groceries they could find. They found one rather quickly. The large crowd queued outside probably had something to do with that, though Melissa couldn’t quite fathom why so many people needed food so early in the day. She rationalized it by imagining everyone was trying to beat the rush, which ironically created more of a rush than there might have been otherwise, though when someone ahead of them said something like, “How many drawings do you think they’ll do? There’s gotta be an exact optimal ratio of DC spent versus tickets entered and I want to be the one to find it” that it all started to fall into place. Well, at least they weren’t the only famous ones. Really, Melissa and the others weren’t even the most famous ones in line. She thought she spotted a familiar face up ahead in the crowd, lying on some sort of dog or wolf, when suddenly the wolf started bounding towards them all in big leaps. More specifically, it was bounding towards Fen, a fact that had two caveats attached to it. The first was that it didn’t show any signs of stopping any time soon, and the second was that, by the time Melissa realized where it was going, her options to react were sorely limited, and they decreased by the second. She ended up choosing the most direct. With a “Look out!” Melissa shoved Fen out of the way of the charging beast, putting herself in the way of the thing instead. It did stop, then, skidding to a halt with a few feet to spare, but it clearly wasn’t happy. There wasn’t any growling, but its head was low and its hackles were raised. Did we not just talk about throwing yourself directly into things last night? the angels said. Melissa couldn’t sigh out loud without drawing more questions, so she just mentally did one, and thought, “Okay, but this is different. You have to admit this is different, right?” The dog’s lowered head gave Melissa a clear view of exactly who was riding it. “Hi, Dora,” Melissa said. “Glad to see you’re hanging in there.” She looked down at Dora’s mount again. “Do I smell like Slakoth still? I had one all over me this morning. Is that what you’re smelling?”
