  1. The spooky season has ended, but let's do a bit of necromancy and raise this project and thread from the grave. I don't want to jump straight into mapping and technical stuff, so I'm gonna take a couple days to focus on party member dialogue in inn rooms/the tower's common room. To get back into the swing of things. This will also be a good opportunity to do something I realize I should have done a while ago, which is change out every instance of a character's name in dialogue/etc with aliases. Of course, this means having to check everything I've written. I'm gonna talk briefly about that to give this post some actual substance and a quick look at how RPG Maker MV works. So, aliases can mean a couple things in coding and idk what they all are, but in the context of me using RPG Maker's engine, what I'm talking about is a string of text that pulls an element of the game. Let's use Merudy as an example here, since if anyone's name gets a spelling change, it'll probably be hers. \N[x] is a string of characters you can put into most text boxes, and when you do, the game will grab the name of whichever character is in actor slot x and replace "\N[x]" with that name. So, in Merudy's case, she's actor 6, meaning "\N[6]" will become "Merudy" in text boxes shown in-game. Like this. I used this trick a LOT in the previous incarnation of Yui RPG, when Tove was the main character who could be re-named at the start of the game. You can't change anyone's names in this game, but if I change the spelling of someone's name, or even give them a whole new one, I can use these so that I don't have to correct every instance of it manually. Also there was a plugin I was using that let me do some small stuff when characters leveled up, and that broke, and Yanfly isn't gonna update the MV plugins I think, so that's gone. Fortunately, all this cost me is a minor QoL feature that I'm sure I can re-enable somewhere else somehow, and needing to change how Xun's weapon works, which I can tackle later.
  2. JUNE 11TH, 2030, 2:00 P.M. LOCATION: CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY FAIRGROUNDS, MAIN STAGE "Attention all guests," a man called out, the use of a microphone and amplifiers ensuring his voice carried across the event at large. "President Jack Roosevelt will now make his appearance." THE PRESIDENT As the crowds gathered for the main event of the day, the front hatch of Air Force Zero opened. And - in the company of two bounty hunters serving as his personal bodyguards for the day - out stepped the President, with a firm stride that spoke of both the confidence of a man who knew he had the power of an entire nation in his hands, but also the humility to not brag about it. As he stepped up to the microphone stand, he casually switched the microphone off, put it to the side, straightened his tie, and began to speak. Despite the microphone not being on, his voice easily was loud enough that the entire crowd could hear him. "Citizens and guests to the United States alike, I would like to thank you all for attending today's festivities. Now, all of you are surely eager to return to the rest of what this centennial anniversary has to offer, so in the interest of saving time, I will try to keep this brief." Roosevelt began to pace along the stage's length, casting his glance across and throughout the crowd as he did so. "On this day, one hundred years ago, the very planet we live on was nearly ripped apart at the seams. The Crisis ended on this very day, and while many of us may take it for granted, it would be negligent to forget that it did happen, or to take such a catastrophe lightly, despite the distance time has put between us and it. Untold lives were lost, either as casualties of unexplainable events that occurred during The Crisis, or in many cases, victims simply ceasing to exist. The sea level sunk lower and lower, and land moved in ways that defy our modern understanding of plate tectonics, affecting the economy, climate, and geography of the entire world. Nations rose and fell in the ensuing chaos, but the United States of America has endured." Behind the President, a map unfurled from the stage's support beams, showing the modern layout of the United States. "However, this resilience should not be mistaken for invulnerability. Just one century ago, our nation was a union of forty-eight states, but today, only thirty remain. Six states disappeared entirely during The Crisis, and another twelve were lost in decades of war against our neighbors to the south, the New Aztec Republic. The last hundred years have not been ones without hardship for America, by any means. And yet, here we are." "It has been a honor I can't very well describe to serve as this great nation's President these last few years. And I do not want to see another century of hardship for her future. It is for this reason that I've striven to see our lost states returned to us, without further bloodshed. It is for this reason that I have worked tirelessly, spending many sleepless nights talking to scientists and advisors, to try and discover the root cause of The Crisis. The future is a tragically uncertain thing, but I believe that in that very uncertainty, one may find for themselves the ability to shape the future, if one is brave enough to look. That is why I stare the future dead in the eyes, and why I promise to use every resource I have, and every power within my authority, to ensure that by the time I am forced to step down from my office, the United States will enter an age of peace an--" BANG! The sound of a gunshot rang throughout the fairgrounds, stopping the President's speech dead in his tracks and causing the crowd to break into a panic. Not even stopping to feel around on his body for wounds - though he would surely be thankful to not find any if he checked - Roosevelt took on a firmer tone. "Everyone, remain calm. Please follow our security detail away from the venue in a swift, but calm manner." Turning around to his two personal bounty hunters, Roosevelt spoke at a more normal volume to them specifically. "You two, time to work. Try not to kill anyone." His eyes seemed to want to look more at Magpie as he said that last part, but they refrained from doing so. Back in the crowd, meanwhile, everything was already going to shit. While many within the crowd were doing as they were told, trying to get out quickly - though not always calmly - it seemed some within the crowd had plans of their own. "♥☺►¶§↕♣!" From within the crowd, a man's voice called out in what certainly didn't sound like a human language, causing a pair of large, spectral arms to erupt from the ground around him, grasping at crowd members trying to make a break for it. "↕♣♀♣☺‼♣!" The arms swung around, before throwing their captors at the main stage, using them like human projectiles with which to assail President Roosevelt. Those who managed to avoid the arms, however, may have found themselves tripping as they continued to make a break for it. Those who tripped looked beneath them, to find thick, thorned roots that weren't there before, wrapping around their feet, only to be approached by a red-haired woman. "Rotten luck, attending this festival. Sorry about this, but peace isn't an option these days, so sit tight and watch Roosevelt up there eat shit, alright?" And then there was - between the two of them - another young woman. One who seemed just as shocked at this sudden development as the rest of the crowd, if not more so. But rather than escape, her attention was fixed purely on the stage and those standing upon it. Suddenly, from beneath the stage, what could best be described as skeletal arms made of a black mist erupted from under the stage, grabbing at and crushing the beams holding the thing together, trying to tear the whole stage down over Roosevelt and those standing near him. "This way, this way!" A woman within the masses called out, gesturing for others to follow her in a direction not covered by the three assailants. "I know a shortcut out of here, so let's not waste any time and get the escorting over with, okay~?" Further still, already breaking away from the rest of the crowd, was a young girl, who stopped only briefly to look back at what was happening before continuing to make her getaway. Those near her, or otherwise with an observant eye, would notice the object hanging from her waist. A gun. "One of 'em's escaping!" Magpie called out from atop the stage, leaping into action and pursuit, chasing down the girl with the gun.

  5. "Man, it really does heat up around this time of year, huh?" Sita for one didn't mind hot summers, but it was hard for her to not think about them as they were happening. She much preferred this over a cold winter, though! More exciting things tended to happen in summer, such as these annual festivals, and more importantly, trekking across hot, dried-up dirt was MUCH easier than across the ironically hellish substances that were snow and ice. And all she had to do in exchange was be a bit more aware of hydration, and tie her jacket around her waist. Normally, Sita would have done the mental equivalent of throwing a dart at an atlas and going to the anniversary event hosted in wherever it landed, but this time, she made a point to come to the US's festival. And just by looking around, she could tell that they were going all-out this year. A hundred years was a big deal, after all! Getting here had been quite the trek, though. Her boat from Australia got delayed, and then she still had to make the rest of the journey, most of which had to be done on foot because her scooter started having issues shortly after reaching solid land and she somehow couldn't find a mechanic. Her feet were sore, her legs were tired, and Sita just wanted to sit down for a bit. Luckily, she was here now, which meant she had plenty of chance to do just that. She could just sit down on the dirt, leaning against her scooter, and enjoy the lemonade she'd picked up on the way in. It was a refreshing drink, and while it didn't un-sore her lower half, it did make her feel better. With the drink drank, she could just relax until it was time for the President's big speech. And so, restless type that she was, Sita proceeded to not do that. This was a big event! She wanted to enjoy it! Sita looked around for something interesting to do. Her eyes settled on one of those dunk tanks. Looking at the sign, Sita was suddenly interested. For one buck, you got three shots to try and hit the target and send the heckler sitting atop the tank on a quick trip to the water beneath. Based on which throw you hit the target on, you could get your choice from a few different prizes, too! Based on his very dry appearance and the very full shelves nearby, nobody had gotten him yet. Which struck Sita as a bit odd. Handing over one dollar and stepping up to the line, she picked up a tennis ball from inside the nearby basket, took aim, and threw it at the target. Perhaps one of her fingers had slipped though, because the ball veered off-course, harmlessly bouncing off the wall of the tank instead. "Strike one! Won't hit shit like that!" the man atop the tank jeered. "Hey, am I allowed to use psychic powers?" Sita asked. "Course not! World's fulla people can do shit like throw things with their brains, you think I'd let 'em pull that shit here!?" "Yeah, my bad." Sita took care to aim her shot this time. She'd done enough hunting in the wild that she was quite proud of her marksmanship, and while it didn't perfectly translate to throwing a ball, it did mean that from this distance, hitting that target should have been a piece of cake! She took careful aim, took into consideration what little weight a tennis ball had, and made what seemed to be a perfect pitch! ...only to watch in utter disbelief as it suddenly swerved away from the target, before dropping to the ground. "Strike two! Sheesh, woman, how'd you even find your way to the pitchin' line with that sorta aim!?" Something was definitely up. Sita picked up her third and final ball for the one dollar she was willing to pay, and took a deep breath. Two could play at this game. Sita felt around on the ball, making sure it wasn't weighted or something before confirming that no, it was perfectly normal. Awesome. Overhead, the bright summer sun shone down on Sita and the villain of the minute, and as if looking for some sort of advice, she turned her head upward to take a look at this planet's parent star. "Say, there's an idea! Blind yerself! Not like you'd be able to aim much worse afterward!" Inside the dark, hollow interior of the tennis ball, where nobody could see, a bright light began to shine, occupying the inside. It wasn't able to break through and cause the ball to glow or anything, but the hot light inside did leave the ball feeling a bit warmer than normal. "Hurry up, lady, clock's tickin'!" One last time, Sita took aim, and threw the ball, directing her orb of light straight to the target. "STRIKE THRE--" SPLASH! The plank holding the heckler suddenly folded down as the ball impacted the target, sending the man straight down into the tank of water. When he grabbed the edge of the tank and resurfaced, he was met with a very smug-looking Sita, satisfied with her success. "Looks like I win," she smirked. "Yeah, yeah, whoop-de-doo. Third shelf, get your prize then get out." The third shelf seemed to not have anything impressive. Little toys and knick-knacks that even a light traveler like Sita would be able to keep around. Awfully convenient that this was when she got the prize, then. Sita picked out a little bag that had a sticker of a penguin and a wooden sculpture of the same creature. Now she was in the mood for ice cream. Slapping the penguin sticker on the front of her scooter and tucking the wooden penguin in one of several bags hanging from it, Sita took herself in that direction, dragging the scooter along with her.
  6. "Ahem, I see. I suppose if that is the case I will, uh, just have to strengthen the seals binding my dark power. And, uh, seal it away until we next get a chance to bring down this beast. ...So yeah I'm gonna go over here now. I-I will just be here, sealing and stuff, if you need me!" "You've got this," Abby said, giving Sabrina what she hoped was an encouraging thumbs-up as the local dragon kid went off to further seal the beast within. In the meantime, however, it was time for a brief strategy meeting! Marshall had brought up an important point: There were four Exalted left, and all four of them were melee combatants. And the good conductor already had a plan to change herself to a ranged fighter to make up for that. With the speed and mobility she'd exhibited before, maybe it was best that she be the team ranger out of everyone, too. “How about you? Have either of you chosen to develop your tools consciously? Or are you simply allowing your spirit to shape your growth? Given how River spoke of change, I doubt there should be any problem with either matter; but I am curious to know what your plans are.” "The only change I was thinking about was an outfit change," Abby answered. "Hitting stuff with a giant hammer's more fun than I thought it would be, and it seems to work, so I'll be sticking to that." That said, it was getting dark. And more dark, as well. The mighty elephant then squatted down, and Abby felt the first droplets of water fall onto her head. The warning to be careful when it rains here was still fresh in her head, remembering it like it was yesterday because it was. Last night's phenomenon was a marvel to look at from indoors, but being in the open for it didn't sound all that great. Which meant the Exalted had a new top priority. "...maybe I'll hold off on the outfit change," she commented, pulling up the hood of her raincoat. She leaned over, calling out to Sabrina. "Hope your power's good and sealed up, 'cos we've got a new priority," she said. "It's starting to rain, and that's bad news for us." "Oh, yeah, it is isn't it." She glanced back at Abby. "I guess most of us aren't really dressed for that are we..." she frowned. "I wonder if the rain makes fire magic weaker..." "If I died any other time than when I did, I wouldn't be dressed for it either, believe me," Abby sighed. "But that's a different problem. I was thinking we could try busting into one of those animal burrows for the night. Anyone wanna help me give it a shot?"
  7. (maybe a logo here someday, if i feel like it) OOC JUNE 11TH, 2030, 10:42 A.M. LOCATION: AIR FORCE ZERO, OVAL OFFICE High above American soil hovered an airship like no other. Armed to the teeth, heavily armored, and perched atop the flying fortress, the White House provided an unmatched view of the nation below. Moreoever, gathered within the room were two bounty hunters, both assigned to one specific task. Today was the centennial anniversary of The Crisis, and while previous ceremonies simply hired your average security contractors, this time around, President Jack Roosevelt spared no expense, collecting the best bounty hunters he could find to ensure this event went off without a hitch, and entrusting his personal safety to these two in particular. "I'd like to speak frankly for a moment," a young woman said. "Go ahead." "You're hiding something from us." Getting up from her seat and gazing at the festival grounds below from the window behind the President, she explained "It's unusual enough to hire bounty hunters for something like this, paid in full up-front at that, but I in particular am even more of an anomaly. I've earned my fame and fortune by being the very best at tracking down and killing a target. Monsters, criminals, terrorists, even a few politicians, I'll admit. This... is the exact opposite of my type of work, and I said as much when you contacted me. So for you to not only insist on hiring me to stand around glaring at people, but choosing to TRIPLE your initial offer when I first turned you down? It doesn't take a genius to find that strange." "Especially when you've gone to the trouble of hiring what I can only assume is a monster that can rip people apart with its bare hands," she concluded, glancing back at the third figure in the room; an unnaturally tall man made of muscle, and currently her partner for this job. "Quite the specimen, I must say. If you were expecting some sort of assassin, you could have probably just used him as a meat shield, since there's definitely enough of him to go around. And yet here I am as well. Why is that?" "I would appreciate you not trying to pick a fight with the rest of my security detail, Miss Harper." Removing his glasses and wiping a stray piece of dust from the lens, Roosevelt matter-of-factly answered "However, you have the right of it. I'm not proud to admit it, but I've been witholding information from both of you. Mr. Go, the door, if you'd please." Without saying a word or getting up from his seat, Íroas B. Go reached his arm behind him. With a flick of his finger, a blast of air was sent out of the office, closing the doors in its wake. "Alright, both of you listen up, because I'm not going to repeat any of this. And none of what I'm about to say leaves this office. A lot of good people could get killed if the people I'm preparing for know that I know any of what you're about to hear..." JUNE 11TH, 2030, 1:57 P.M. LOCATION: CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY GROUNDS, JUST OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS Hot afternoon though it may have been, excitement and happiness was in the air today. While the first few anniversary events of The Crisis were more solemn occasions meant to reflect on a recent reality-altering catastrophe, over the last hundred years, the tone had gradually shifted as the new world it had brought became the norm for more and more people. Today, the anniversary was more of a cause for celebration, meant to remember what had happened in the past, but also to wonder what limitless possibilities the future held. Aside from the inclusion of some special official events, the event had become akin to one big festival. A change that some hardcore traditionalists weren't all too fond of, calling it "a glorified carnival." To anyone who didn't have such objections, however, it was definitely an event worth attending. A direct address from the President was scheduled to start in a few short minutes, but until then, as well as for a couple of hours afterward, the grounds had all the makings of an otherwise-normal festival type event. Stalls selling food and drinks, live music that was just now wrapping up for a brief break, and various other little things to keep guests entertained until the big moment. Activities such as mazes and dunk tanks, machines meant to test your strength, bb gun booths, and more, all with a few prizes to be won of course. Just outside the designated area of the event were others looking to ply their trade, but who couldn't get the permit to work in the centennial proper. Arists, fortune-tellers, and more had gathered just outside the grounds, hoping to make a quick buck from those entering or leaving this major event. Attendance was easily within the tens of thousands, and as two o'clock got closer, some turned their eyes toward the stage of the event. Just behind it was the aerial fortress known as Air Force Zero, now landed for the time being. Men in suits were gathering on the stage, clearly security detail for the President's impending appearance. But most either didn't think about it, or only planned to pay it mind during the President's address. With so many things to do, and people to meet, there was no shortage of ways one could spend the minutes leading up to the main event of the day. All one had to do was seek it out. HOST NOTES
  8. Alright, put down your pens & pencils, time's up, I'm going over the apps now. Wide toolkit, versatile, I like the personality and the bio you sent me. You're in. Quite possibly my favorite bio in the roster, which is ironic since you notoriously hate writing those and nobody else is gonna see it anyway. Being the only non-psychic of the cast is interesting as well. I'd be a fool to not take this one. I'm not usually as pleased with my app work as I am with Sita. Her being accepted is a foregone conclusion I just wanted to share that previous bit of info with the rest of the class. Interesting power! Got some good balance of character traits in the personality. Also your biography is longer than everyone else's combined. I checked. Accepted. So... I don't know if you tried to DM me on Discord and didn't notice I have my security settings locked up tighter than the average hair metal singer's pants, or what, but I never actually got a bio from you. That, and I could've sworn I said we'd tackle the question & answer of the plasma beam at a later time, which maybe we had some kind of misunderstanding, but I didn't mean to put it in anyway and we'd work out the mechanics of it later. The app is quite fine otherwise, but for these two standout reasons, I can't bring myself to accept it into the RP. Sai we talked about a fair bit in private, including the nature of his powers. Quite pleased with what you've got on him. Accepted. Tsurumi is some much-needed gremlin energy. Like the personality, like the bio you sent in, she's good and in. I'll get all these up in the OOC shortly. I've been putting off writing the bulk of the IC until I knew what exactly our cast entailed, so now that I can do that, expect the thread possibly sometime this week? I don't have a concrete date for this tbh.
  9. After the showing that was her getting thoroughly walloped by what seemed like a perfectly ordinary person, anger issues aside, Joanna made a point to be careful crossing the street. If this kind of lunacy was possible in this world by someone with their bare hands, who knew what they were capable of with tons of steel at their command? Fortunately for her, between her spider-sense and the people of Metro City being surprisingly respectful drivers, she could have gotten across the street unscathed with her eyes closed and her hands behind her back if she really wanted to. She didn't particularly want to. She just wanted to get into this place that she assumed was a restaurant, despite the architecture being somewhat foreign to her, and as she got closer, she doubled down on that assumption based on the chicken-y smell coming from within. When she stepped inside, it was something much more like what the Joanna from about ten minutes ago would have expected when she heard the words "sent to another world". The inside of this restaurant was unlike anything she'd ever seen, though a restaurant it certainly was, based on all the food being doled out. Mostly soup, by the looks of it. In fact, only soup! What seemed like some sort of wrestling was going on in the center, with two big guys trying to push each other out of a circle. Like tug of war, but backwards, and with much larger participants. Joanna was a practiced boxer, but she loved to watch two guys throw down every Monday night just as much as the next person. It was then that she was met with yet another big guy. He dressed similar to the men in the ring, but with a bit more clothes. Between that, the red face paint, and him just being bigger in stature than the others, Joanna could only assume this guy was the boss of the other men or something like that. He kind of reminded her of Kingpin, but trading some of Kingpin's sheer size for having hair. "Well, well, lost your first fight around these parts, have you? That's always a shock for newcomers here at Metro City. Well, there's only one solution for that! A nice serving of Chanko stew!" With the most powerful gentle push she ever felt, the mysterious sumo wrestler herded Joanna to a table. "Go on, eat up! Enjoy the show!" "Huh, wait, what's chanko?" As Joanna found herself herded into a table, sitting down on a cushion in clear view of the sport of the day, she soon figured out just what chanko was. Some kind of stew, and 100% the source of that chicken smell Joanna detected earlier. It just so happened she was rather fond of chicken, and a few other things that seemed to be in there, too! "Wow, lotta protein in there," Joanna commented, getting a couple scoops of the stew from the center of the table and putting it in the bowl before her. Then there was the chopsticks. Joanna had used these a few times before; while she was usually more of a pizza type, some nights she just really wanted some Chinese takeout, and sometimes while on the clock as Spider-Girl she just happened to be in Chinatown at around lunchtime. "Hold on, how much do I gotta pay for a seat here?" Joanna asked. Wait. Is my money even any good here!? "How about you eat first and we'll figure that out later?" "...good idea." This was a restaurant after all. You typically paid for those after eating. That guy from earlier must have hit her harder than she thought to get her all scrambled up like that. Joanna took her first bite of the stew before her, and was immediately impressed! This wasn't something she'd eat every day, but "chanko" was definitely going on her list of delivery foods to order at night, if such places did delivery. Gesturing toward the two big guys in the ring with her chopsticks, Joanna asked "So what's going on in there? I've seen two big guys try to pin each other to the floor, I've seen two big guys punch the hell out of each other, but two big guys pushing each other out of a circle's new to me." "Oh? Don't tell me. You don't know what sumo is?" "I can't say I do." "Oh ho, well, you came to the right place then, little lady!" The man laughed heartily as he folded his arms over his chest. "Sumo wrestling's a pure sport! There ain't any weapons in sumo. Hell, there's barely any clothes! Sumo is pure, undiluted martial arts, plain an' simple! A meeting of muscle for ring supremacy!" That explanation was... technically an answer. But it didn't really answer Joanna's question. She could figure out the objective more or less by watching those two sumo go at it, but that a quick glance at the ring was more helpful than this guy's enthusiastic explanation was a little disheartening. Still, she just didn't have it in her to deny his enthusiasm. So she gave the big man a nod, a smile, and responded cheerfully. "I see! Sounds like a pretty tough business to get into, if you want to be the one doing the wrestling." She had to admit, she did like the atmosphere here. A show of martial prowess center-stage, a bowl of good food in front of her. ...was this how people at gladiator shows felt? Minus all the bloodshed?
  10. There's so much wrong with this post that I don't know where to start. So let's start from the top of the post! So, right out the gate, there's a problem with your proposal. A very serious one. Torm owns the website, and he lives in the UK. So if the website was to cease operations in the UK, its operations as a whole would not be far behind unless he passed ownership to Yemachu and just continued footing the bill himself or something? Seems like a lot of hoop-jumping over what will likely amount to nothing. Furthermore, you flat-out admit you haven't done your own reading and research (you're basing your post off information from YouTube, ffs), and I hate to sound like I'm gatekeeping, but one should never present an issue as prevalent as you're making this one sound without doing their own research first. This sort of thing is exactly how misinformation gets spread around. So I took the time to read the Online Safety Bill's exact wording myself. Neither you nor the YouTube video linked back to anything showing the actual papers, by the by, so I had to do that myself, too. For shame. I'm pretty sure I legally need to clarify at this point that I'm not a lawyer, I've never been to law school, etc, and I've also never set foot in the UK, so someone who meets at least one of those criteria would be a better authority on what all I'm about to say. Not to mention a lot of this referenced other laws/documents but didn't say what was actually written in those. Anyway, assuming I've read all this right, the act does exactly what's written on the tin: Looks over the web and tries to make it less harmful toward children and animals. A noble goal, but that assumes that's all they do with it. Now, being American myself, I live in a country where there's no shortage of laws that also look over the web and what everyone posts on it. That being the case, I can say with full confidence that unless you've been posting content that involves the abuse of children or animals and live in the UK, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Your belief that this will have a profound impact on NCM is, however, frankly ridiculous. Not only do you need to be thirteen or older to register for this website, with most if not all of its userbase being fairly past twenty already, but NCM is such a small middle-of-nowhere site that's only tangentially related to Yu-Gi-Oh at this point, that anyone looking to make a move on/against this site would have to go out of their way to even know about it in the first place. You basically illustrated in great detail for us the amount of mental gymnastics you had to do to turn this particular molehill into the mountain you did. How, pray tell, would this internet equivalent of a middle-of-nowhere gas station town with exactly five buildings, come to the attention of the UK government, and why would they care if it did? Are you gonna tell them yourself? Have you been posting content that would get their attention? To summarize, your information sounds unreliable, the situation you've outlined is absurd, and your solution would mean shutting down the website as a whole since it's owned, run, and paid for by an Englishman (not Yemachu, who is a coder that does work on the cardmaker and possibly some behind-the-scenes stuff I don't know about). Now, I must again clarify at the end of my post that I'm not in the UK, and have only read the Online Safety Bill in a vacuum. If there's further context or information that I'm missing, I'm very open to that possibility, but based on what I've read both here and there, I could not disagree more with your entire proposal for so many reasons.
  11. Putting a due date of October 1st on remaining apps. Anyone who hasn't finished yet, you've got a week and some change. I am, however, open to talks about extending this by a couple extra days once we're closer to the big day, if someone's almost done but needs a bit more time. This announcement has also been posted in the RP's Discord server (with the forbidden everyone ping at that!) to ensure maximum visibility and transparency.
  12. "O-oh no, the draconic power in my arm, it's calling out for battle, I do no know if I can hold it back!" Abby knew that tone of voice. It wasn't exactly thinly veiled, making Sabrina's true intentions quite clear. She wanted to beat the hell out of that elephant, perhaps to test the newly enhanced abilities of the group? Abby wasn't exactly one to shy away from taking a risk or two, but she also tried to avoid physical confrontations when she could. And the elephant promised one hell of a physical confrontation, if its looks and the way everything else - up to and including lions - ran away from the mere sight of it were any indication. At the same time, Abby was never one to tell someone "no" unless it was a matter of life and death. "...Alas, Miss Draconis, but that Monster is far above our current rank; the rest of us would be wiped out in an instant. As for you, to give into your draconic blood now would spell the end of your sanity, as you fell victim to its curse; you'd become a mindless demon, a slave to your ancient blood's needs." "M-Maybe we should listen to the train conductor...she's making good points here! Y-You just saw that it literally...ATE...whatever was walking besides it! I know we're Exalted and whatnot...but something tells me it'd still probably have us for dessert...m-m-maybe we just wait until we actually come across the Accursed?" Playing along never hurt anybody. "I'm no expert on dragons," Abby mused, "but as far as I know, they're not creatures to be denied. I'd rather not fight that thing, of course, but if that power of yours can't be held back, I'm here to back you up." Although, this did beg the question of how to deal with the thing. There was of course the giant protrusion on its back, though Abby wasn't sure if that was just protection from the area's lightning, or if it also served as some sort of weak point. Wasn't that how creatures with obvious features like that worked? Hell if she knew.
