  1. Ok sooo umm... This is something I have wanted to try out for a long time but it's definitely not my style or strength at all... Even knowing my limitations it still surprises me that I've been working 4 hours on it and now I have to wake up in like 2 more to go to work xD The hair was a nightmare and I swear I wasn't trying to do a duckface or anything, I wanted to make one of those cute angry anime expressions.
  2. Despite the history of the site over there, I kind of wish he did honestly... if it meant people looking for the card forum would come here instead. It is honestly so much better... it just lacks a bit more people that'd spend more time in the card-making (and art) sections.... and I've heard some members say the font of this site's card maker could be better.... but other than that it is almost not worth it to look for a fight over there when the admin is so focused in being this big bad unbendable "leader" that it could very well end up destroying his own site without realizing.... *shrugs* I just wonder why now? He surely had a working staff trying to communicate more tamely since almost a decade ago and YCM had 2 years of almost complete anarchy, and nothing really outrageously bad happened... there even were less nasty bot spammers that I could find than the last year prior to NCM, almost as if they had been there on purpose. Then now that Flame Dragon decides to give us 2 mods over there, YCMaker decides he's gonna take all possible actions on the forum in his own hands? Was he really working on a new card maker all this time since he announced it almost 2 years ago? Was he pretending to be Falling Pizza that one time? IDK.... I thought he had left the forum for dead permanently since "the card maker makes all the money"....
  3. Ah, don't be scared xD I make the claim that everything here is merely suggestions and I won't get pushy about if you want to take any or not, and it is completely cool regardless. It also probably got lost in all my rambling but I liked the archetype. I think this is good, and I gotta say it is probably better to be too careful than too reckless and your cards are on the careful side for the most part [thumbs up]. Trying to elaborate a bit on the things I meant: -Xyz Monsters are the black cards with black stars in them. Since their stars are called "Ranks" instead of "Levels" they are impossible to Tribute for a Ritual Summon that needs to fill in a quota of Levels. -Link Monsters are the other blue card templates in the game, and have absolutely no stars of any kind to speak of, nor do they have DEF stats making them impossible to affect with any position changing effects or anything that'd flip them face-down at all. On top of being non-compatible with Level-based mechanics like Rituals or Synchros.... Some of the effects I've seen (links upcoming): -Herald of the Arc Light- Ignoring everything else, the last effects says it searches for a Ritual (monster or Spell) from your Deck when sent to the GY, and it works even if sent there directly from your Extra Deck, which nowadays there's a number of ways of doing just that. -Preparation of Rites- This recovers your Ritual Spell and searches either one of your first 2 Rituals, all in an easy +1 Normal Spell. errr yes, "control no cards" includes Spells/Traps as well. Aaaaand if the banish part is because of flavor, then I think I should rework my suggestions, because I do like it when flavor plays a roll into card design, it'd be better to think of a work-around that keeps that. Even if it strives away from the easiest way to balance them for me, I think it is important that they keep their soul and sometimes it leads to more interesting workarounds... hmmm I have nothing off the top of my head but we'll see xD and yes, double pierce heh.     To The Members

    I had already given a like to this in the morning but I gotta say I am extra grateful to this little speech as one of the only beacons of positivity after all the events that have transpired today online. Thought it'd be good to let this thought out. To be honest back in the mod thread of the other site I let myself get annoyed by Horu's randomness and as a result I ended up venting out a private matter for a user that was just... there, with no votes or influences or much else to do with anything. An ad hominem that Dae was right to call out on along with all the hell breaking loose over there. Contributing to all that ruckus is something I still regret, and this time around I'd rather not go back in the gutter again. I don't even care I didn't win anymore, as I think I stopped deserving to the moment I did what I did anyways. Coming back to this thread relaxes me a bit so I'm using it as a sort of confessionary while I'm at it. It reminds me that there is this spot of the internet we have here, and although I wish it had the same traffic as the other place, it is still a space to be thankful for. It makes the issues and drama on the other side look smaller, and for members that came from YCM to make themselves a place over here, NCM should be "it" right? As much as I think YCMaker is pretty questionable to say the least, we should be able to look at things from a distance and with a more calm and collected approach. After all, Neo is home now, not YCM, isn't it? Now, I say this as somebody that has kept lurking on both sides and is dragged most to where my art buddies hang out (which has been like 90% YCM and discord this year) so I don't believe I deserve to include myself in this, but I do really wholeheartedly wish this place flourished a lot more and I could convince my friends to come here... Sorry for the aimless ranting, and let's hope we have a brighter year ahead of us....
  5. Do you remember the status you wrote enough to replicate it here? I'm curious. I've had my head inside a hole for a few weeks with my pals of the art groups doing a Christmas thing mostly on Discord (it's been a lot of fun btw, thanks for asking) The YCM status kinda already moved on to Dae getting turned on by Hina posting in there so I came here instead...
  6. I like the cycling potential it provides. Being a +0 Monster Reincarnation and potentially triggering Serpentine Princess. The Ritual support bit is a little random and pretty unreliable considering you have to shuffle something into the deck before drawing (so no stacking strategies) and only grabs from the Deck which demands some devotion to Rituals that most decks aren't gonna get... on top of just adding 1 of the Ritual Cards. Kinda wish it was "Add up to 1 Ritual Monster and/or 1 Ritual Spell from your Deck and/or GY to your hand". THEN it'd feel like you did the jackpot. I'm also tempted to suggest moving the draw effect to before you shuffle the field target into the Deck, so said stacking strats would work, because even if the Ritual search was boosted up into my suggestion, it'd still be kind of a roundabout way of getting Rituals on board and one attached to a hard OPT clause at that. Although even as is it is at least a +0 but it'd be hard to find a good spot for it.
  7. Unfortunately I think the card is a bit of a clash for the archetype. This card itself cannot be changed to face-down Defense Position along with the other Ghostrick monsters, so it cannot hide behind the field spells like every other Ghostrick monster. Sure it can negate 1 attack but that's not gonna be enough. To add to that, it requires 3 materials which is a bit much for Ghostrick capabilities (Ghostricks having a hard time getting a lot of face-up monsters onto the field without relying on reacting to opponent attacks and waiting). Not only that but all 3 have to be Ghostricks so there's no alternate engine of cards that could help you bring this out, and all of them have to be different names further making this needlessly complicated to drop. My suggestions are the following~ Make the materials into: 2+ monsters, including a "Ghostrick" monster. I even suggest something like: You can also use "Ghostrick" monsters that are face-down on your side of the field and/or attached to Xyz Monsters you control as material for this card's Link Summon. Then give it some better protection capabilities. I suggest this: If this is the only face-up monster you control, it cannot be attacked, but does not prevent your opponent from attacking you directly. After that, I'd say just keep this effect: Your opponent cannot destroy "Ghostrick" monsters or face-down Defense Position monsters this card points to, or "Ghostrick" Field Spells on the field by battle/effect, and they cannot be targeted by your opponent's cards/effects. ^I fused them into a single effect, and added protection for the Ghostrick field spells while at it. I think that's about all my suggestions, the attack negation and battle reduction is kind of weak and unneded IMO as you have Jack O Lantern and Specter helping you with it already and Mansion, and Bloody Mary wants some sort of damage to get in to trigger too, and so does Ghostrick Parade.
  8. My suggestions are the following... Reasoning and design notes in red under each: - - - - - Nightmare: Shared Insanity Ritual Spell This card is used to Ritual Summon any "Nightmare Denizen" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or up to 1 monster your opponent controls, whose total Level equals or exceeds the Ritual Monster's. Technically it cannot touch face-down monsters, or Xyz Monsters, or Link Monsters, but since it says "equals or exceeds" in the effect it can go overboard and eat up all Level-holding monsters in one go. Now I wouldn't suggest changing it to exact Level requirements as that'd pretty much kill its usefulness against like 90% of opponents. It also lacks a hard OPT clause but when it can be nuke in a single use it doesn't really matter xD My suggestion here is to just be able to take 1 opponent's monster per use, and from there whatever else you are able to cycle within the same turn with all the Ritual support out there is on you. All those Herald floating effects and Preparation of Rites and whatnot xP - - - - - Nightmare Denizen: Shattered Doll DARK Level 5 [ Zombie / Ritual / Effect ] 2000/0 Can be Ritual Summoned with a "Nightmare" Ritual Spell. If you control no cards OR control a Zombie Ritual Monster, and your opponent activates a Spell/Trap (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate that card's activation, and if you do, destroy it. Once per turn, if your opponent activates a Spell/Trap (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 card; negate that card's activation, and if you do, destroy it. -I don't think the self-banishing drawback at the end is needed at all. Well, unless you want it to combo with something that wants them banished that is... Otherwise they are fine. -The hand-trap effect (self-discard) is too generic and live all the time, so my suggested change is that you can use it when your field is empty (so after a nuke or from your opening hand turn 1) OR by using this theme you have going on (as opposed to in every deck in existence because of how good any S/T negation +0 out of the blue is). -The negation effect on-field has another change I did not put in my rewrite of the card because to be honest there are a few options I'd like to suggest. 1 ) You could keep it once per turn, but without needing the discard. 2 ) You could keep the discard requirement but then it'd be fine if you wanted to just burn your hand on it 3 ) aaaaand a little drawback that can be used regardless of which of the above 2 you'd go for, and that also could potentially ease your mind regarding me suggesting the self-banish effect to get axed: Once per turn, if your opponent activates a Spell/Trap while you control this Ritual Summoned card (Quick Effect): . . . - - - - - Nightmare Denizen: Boogeyman DARK Level 7 [ Zombie / Ritual / Effect ] 2300/0 Can be Ritual Summoned with a "Nightmare" Ritual Spell. If your opponent's monster declares an attack: You can discard this card; negate the attack, and if you do, you can change that monster to Defense Position. If this card declares an attack: You can change 1 monster your opponent controls to Defense Position. If it attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts piercing battle damage. Part of the rewrite is that if you change the position-changing part of the self-discard effect to "you can" I'd be 100% sure you can still negate the attack of Link Monsters, otherwise I don't really know if the game allows them as legal targets knowing beforehand they won't be able to get the full effect. My rewrite otherwise just deletes the self-banish effect at the end. Although I'm inclined to suggest a boost for the on-field effect. Something along the lines of: While you control this Ritual Summoned card, it gains 500 ATK, and can attack all Defense Position monsters your opponent controls in the same Battle Phase. or If it was Summoned by the effect of a "Nightmare" Ritual Spell, it inflicts double piercing battle damage instead. Also, it gains 500 ATK. Stuff like that xD You say you don't have a ton of experience with the IRL game so just in case and for the record : Yes double piercing is a thing (Chaos MAX Dragon, Metalfoes Orichalc, and I forgot what other cards had that) xP - - - - - Nightmare Denizen: Insanity Beast DARK Level 9 [ Zombie / Ritual / Effect ] 2800/0 Can be Ritual Summoned with a "Nightmare" Ritual Spell. If you control no cards OR control a Zombie Ritual Monster, and your opponent activates a monster effect (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate cards/effects until the end of the Damage Step. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: Your opponent discards 1 random card. Same extra requirement as the first Ritual because well...... IRL we got Effect Veiler still being used fairly well (negates monster effects only during your opponent's Main Phase, and doesn't destroy the card or anything). Then we got "Infinite Impermanence" that needs an empty field on you to be live from hand, but is not tied to a single player's Main Phase and if used from field it also negates an extra card in a column... and still doesn't do removal. Your card is probably a better (more flexible) version of those so some condition was in order I think.... Still, if used in conjunction with the rest of this archetype, the "condition" might as well be free. The discard I made into a random one because otherwise your opponent will choose their most convenient discard. Be it anything that triggers like Shaddolls or Dark Worlds, or setup for their next plays. The "unstoppable attack" bit is good. We already see something like that in "Utopia the Lightning" and some of the last Ancient Gear monsters we ever got. I think its fine as is. Especially because it seems it only works when you are the one attacking which is actually weaker. Unlike something like "Meteorburst Dragon" that flat out says "Your opponent cannot activate monster effects in the Battle Phase". . . . hmm come to think of it, you could change "if this card attacks" for "if this card battles" and still be fine IMO. - - - - - All in all it looks like a pretty solid concept. For a moment it reminded me of Nekroz, and in fact, you could probably afford to give your Ritual Spells some sort of clause that lets them cycle each other like the Nekroz Ritual Spells do (btw, did not address your first Ritual Spell because I think it is fine as is. Did not forget about it xP )
  9. Thanks once again n.n The green extends underneath almost up to where the real black starts, then I blended from the black towards the girl 3 shades of gray. Was trying to make a brighter aura but when I realized the effect that was worming I ate up most of the green with grays and was like "this isn't exactly what I was planning.... but it's better xD "
  10. Thank you = ) The marker's have a brush tip that helps a lot. The background has the marker strokes that visible because it is meant to have more layering going on. I get what you are saying with the digimon vibes xD

  13. So I have these in hopes I can make an archetype after I gather enough drawings. They are meant for card art and I pretend for the cards to be a gift for a member that I don't think look around in here very often xD The theme is FIRE Rocks and only have 2 so far. I was suggested that I should offset their colors from each other at the very least but like in all my drawings, I take suggestions and stuff here too... or in this case, ideas are welcomed xD

  15. Thanks xP Yeah, it's a weird aurora.... I've always struggled making auroras (not actually my first or second take on one xD ) I got the green I needed now, after this drawing was done.... maybe I can still apply it because it's a darker green but still thinking about it heh.

Made about a week ago for the sake of having something of the season in time xD I had no idea how to go about the background once I had the character made, so I kept adding violets, purples, blues, vaguely resembling a cave-like pattern and after enough time I grabbed a pen and have what you see here.... I think the green is a bit too light and lime-y but that's what you get when you YOLO it and hope it ends up well hahaha....
  17. Sooo I have this art club here (in private). I wanted to settle in the same way I did the club at YCM but like, a few years ago the idea was implemented and shot down kinda quickly and as a bystander I just decided to not follow through xD I'm looking into if there'd be any interest for me to settle with it nowadays.

      I guess the way Clubs were implemented on this site were more awkward than what was done in Yugioh Card Maker. So many people quickly lost interest in clubs.

      tbh clubs in general don't do super well.

      iirc on YCM there's one (yours, ayy) that still is on-going and that's it

      Best I can tell most people don't see a need when discord groups work for clubs especially well. Individual threads have their merits, as do Polls, and there are still things forums can do with advantages, but Club in specific seems especially outdated to organize things.

  18. Honestly I don't main this anywhere. It is a bit unreliable to bump into at 1 and just generic good stuffs from old times, and the board wipe is a bit less good when the format of the past half a decade has been composed of disruptors that could stop it, floaters that don't mind or even welcome it, or monsters that have some sort of protection against destruction. It's not all we got but it's a pretty common thing we got. I've tried using it in decks and I also surprise myself taking this out every time in favor of anything else. I honestly would rather consider other stuff before it. There's Kaiju Slumber if you run Kaijus that also is a searcher. There is Lightning Storm if you want the option of being Raigeki or Harpie's Feather Duster (though even that card is not exactly an absolute staple in decks). There's Dark Ruler No More, which doesn't directly get rid of the board or even allow you to OTK from there, but it seems like it'd enable the rest of your deck to do so better (and it is at 3 so it is a bit more to be relied on during a game). If Raigeki was at 3, I don't think I'd necessarily jump on the opportunity to even side deck it.... and yes, I also find that jarring xD
  19. This is the best xD Dark Scorpions is one of my favorite themes of all time. I actually tried to make them work during the Xyz era and it kinda worked out decently enough for its time xD The card gives them a much needed boost and Menae can search it out just fine. And even better is that it doesn't have the annoying clause some cards of this nature get where you can only have like 1 copy of it out at any time. Here you can put the Dark Scorpions pretty close to Blue-Eyes's range of power. At first I was worried about giving them the mill effects but banishing them face-down fixes that issue. EDIT: Actually, could you make it so it gets a little boots? Opponent cards that leave the field or are sent to the GY by "Don Zaloog" or "Dark Scorpion" cards, are banished face-down? this would boost up the effect so that Cliff's S/T removal, and Gorg's spin, and Chick's bounce all also banish when it comes to opponent cards (and still recycle your own).
  20. This sounds interesting. The card is like something you'd see out of a GX episode and I can't really think of something beyond Ultimate Tyranno or Superconductor Tyranno. I think the early eras of the game could have used something a Level 8 vanilla 2800 Dino considering compared to dragons dinosaurs were the next biggest thing. Guess they had Black Tyranno back then (with protagonist stats iirc). Kinda don't dig the "burn + nothing" effect but well... I guess that's the OG Time Wizard for you.... Man I hate it when thematic reasons pull things down this much but can't be helped xD Btw, the art is very cool. Gotta love that face and uniform xD

  22. That is fun when one thinks of stuff like D.D. Crazy Beast + Amazoness Sage, to make a 2800 ATK beater that banishes what it kills and destroys backrow every time it battles, or Hayabusa Knight + Injection Fairy Lily for a 4400 ATK double attacker, and stuff like that. Though then you get to the territory of having small monster getting the effect of bosses your opponent tries to take down. Like, they bring down Chaos MAX Dragon only for you to create a bigger version of it with an extra effect. Or if your opponent Snow Rabbit's your Dark Armed Dragon, you just keep going xD Hmm what else.... Oh, the effects of monsters that name themselves. Like "Your opponent cannot attack monsters, except Dupe Frog" and then you have a monster that is NOT named Dupe Frog but inherited the effect. Jajaja xD

Ghost Ogre's searcher is called Sangan xD If E Tele was at 3, didn't pop my search at the end of the turn, and allowed Snow Rabbit response when needed (it can only work preemptively or it'll miss chains there). I don't think adding Equips (garnets) for an Isolde engine in a deck that otherwise runs 0 Warrior related themes (well, BLS, but does that really count?) is gonna do much good.... and the suggestion made me recall that meme from when Dangers were brand new "ese deck apesta! sacale todo, metele Dangers". You are basically saying something like that but for the Isolde engine xD
