  1. You posted this thread shortly after I watched this build here: The PK RUM is such a spicy tech. I would bring up the case that Mathematician can easily be used for a DARK Link2 like Overclock or Space Insulator and ladder into Bardiche from there, but if it is not really needed, then no problem with not adding it. Also I see the Extra deck space is tight but if you can Rank4, a play I saw in a different Deck is Evilswarm Thanatos + PK RUM --> Azzathoth during the opponent's turn. Since Thanatos' effect is Quick it gets rid of its materials quickly.
  2. But... he wants the last effect to be spell speed 2. It needs the "During either player's turn" clause then.
  3. Alright, will add 1 more: 4. Trickstar Candina (Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains)
  4. Why bother with Moon Mirror Shield when you can load it with ATK-boosting Equips and go for an OTK? Moon Mirror Shield would shift this card's ATK to the attacked monster's ATK + 100 and thus disable OTKs. I don't like how this is pretty much an OTK from a single Isolde. Regardless of the power levels of the formats, it is unfair as heck.
  5. In a vacuum the Rank4~8 are still a Drident. Indeed, Drident got support from its archetype as well as Beast-Warrior support, but at the same time these get Dragon support, and the type got plenty of it, including a Rokket engine (Level4 Rokkets + Quick Launch), the relatively recent Guadragons and maybe Wyverbuster/Collapserpent, which most likely would do wonders for them. You bring up Roar but funnily enough I wouldn't rely too much on it. I would rather keep the materials on the Xyzs to maintain suppression. If anything, I would run it as a 1-of when going first for Ignition Wyvern to grab it if I drew into the right cards to get a 3-material Charger Dragon. I wouldn't rely on the RUM either. By the time I get a Dragover with no Xyz Materials I most likely would have been able to drop a new one ready to keep the stun.
  6. Oh right, this is bound to the EM Zone. Sky Strikers should have little trouble getting Kagari and Shizuku with some dedication or techs like Magnet Reverse, but they may struggle with the middle-up marker.
  7. Guadragons may want a word with you :v Seriously now, with their Links they have little trouble marking a Zone with 3 Links, which means this gives them an accessible face-down-banish nuke.
  8. Kind of remember this one. I liked it a lot, and I like this one too. It should do its job of deterring big monsters just fine. Was gonna remark on how it could be Level 2 for more Level 2 appreciation, or Plant, but nothing wrong with Level3 EARTH/Fiend. After all, it is an underused typing. I like the sneaky Squire stats xD Ironically, it's named chaos but is it neither DARK nor LIGHT.
  9. The maindeck and Spell look good. Really optimized for swarming and Rank4 plays, and the bonus effect when they are attached to Dragon Xyzs add some flavor, making the more spiced than, let's say, tellarknights. It's the Xyzs who are the problem, though. The Rank4 is a less potent Drident by effect but with solid stats, but it can Xyz evolve into the Rank8, a better Drident. As if that wasn't enough, the new Xyz can further evolve into a field nuke on demand if you, let's say, use3 materials for the Rank4, attach 1 more through its effect, then evolve into the Rank8 then into this. Admittedly, it needs the extra steps but once you do it's undeniably such a power play. 5000 ATK is a lot for a card that can be accessed through such manner, too. I do like that the Rank8 is relatively splashable. Rank8 decks may be able to access it by overlaying the Galaxy Dragon monsters.
  10. Elf looks like trouble to me. Stratos-like search power + revival of s Blue-Eyes dragon? Too much for a single card, IMO. By the way, the name is Elf, but the hard OPT clause says Queen. Mixed feelings towards Paladin. Dova already addressed the OTK concerns which IMO would be more amusing if it only applied on "Eyes of Blue" monsters to turn the little ones into beatsticks for a turn, but also the draw effect keep me thinking, as once you get multiple copies of BEWD out it translates to big draws, especially if you have means to Summon it a couple more of times in the following turns. IDK, could be an snowballing effect that derails or spawns variants of "mill BEWDs ASAP, Summon this to draw 3 cards". Dova already pointed out how Soul is yet another card for Blue-Eyes that depends on another.
  11. The thing is that Quick Effects is a type of monster effect, according to the YGO wikia, and thus Spell/Traps cannot have until Konami does it first. You can use the good old "during either player's turn", though. Anyway, with the fix it is no longer an FTK of course. you would have find a way to banish the rest of your hand face-down first and not only AFAIK there is no such way to do so, also we would be speaking of a 2-card combo at least.
  12. I'm in. Lightray Diabolos LIGHT/Dragon/Effect/Level 7 2800/1000 Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by having 3 or more LIGHT monsters in your GY. Once per turn: You can banish 1 LIGHT monster from your GY, then target 1 card your opponent controls; if that card is Set, reveal it, also place it on either the top or bottom of the Deck. This effect can be activated as a Quick Effect if you have 5 or more LIGHT monsters with different names in your GY.
  13. +1 Ash Blossom +3 Called by the Grave +X Snow Rabbit, Ghost Belle or more Effect Veiler depending on the competition. -1 Back the Front, or at least that's my rule of thumb with revival cards. Solemns into the the side. Consider Offerings to the Snake Deity instead. I don't fully grasp how much they rely on Normal Summons. If they don't so too much, then Lilith could be an amusing tech. Needless to say, fill the ED. DARK and Reptile support may be interesting to consider, namely DAD, or even Ananta if the archetype doesn't really mind the banishments.
  14. Basically, this is a tournament where each participant is allowed to submit 1~3 custom cards, and run up to 3 copies of each like with normal cards, to play with. That means up to 9 custom cards in a deck. That way you can make some of your dreams come true, like taking your favorite archetype to top tier levels, test splashable tech cards, and so on. However, there a couple of details I want to discuss with players who are interested: - A power level should be determined for the custom cards. If broken cards were allowed, they could derail the tournament by reaching ridiculous levels of power. On the other hand, only allowing cards that are too fair may make things stale and potentially pointless. For this, I would like to determine the acceptable power levels for the custom cards, as well as have the support of at least 2 peers who assist with reviewing, fixing if necessary, and approving submitted cards for the tournament. - The cards you submit will be available to all participants. This is intended to work as a balance filter since, if you make anything too appealing, you have to be wary of the possibility for your opponents to play them in their decks and thus against you. In a way, all custom cards get added to the cardpool for this tournament. - Finally, would like to discuss and establish a banlist for the tournament. It would be silly if efforts are made with making custom cards only for the same decks that are currently topping in TCG or OCG to end up winning anyway. On top of the current hits that TCG and OCG did separately, I'm thinking on hitting cards they both are missing, namely Gumblar and even Rhongo. But ideally I want to reach an agreement with the participants. Proposed banlist so far: January OCG banlist + Forbidden: Number 86: Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad Topologic Gumblar Dragon Limited: Armageddon Knight Semi-Limited Destiny HERO - Malicious That ought to kill most of the currently relevant decks, preventing them stealing the show, while shortening the amount of power the decks-to-support need to climb through custom cards. I'm not sure if we should try to cut on the hand traps and try to devolve the game to be more backrow-oriented, or keep hand traps around and allow for their creation, as well as activable-from-hand Traps. I would like to discuss too cards that may be considered as overly potent such as Needlefiber and Isolde. Participants: - Spinny - Kano - ... Once you are accepted, please post the cards you intend to submit here for their evaluation. Members interested more in reviewing and approving the custom cards than submitting and participating are welcome to support as reviewers. However, you cannot submit cards if you are not participating as a duelist. Reviewers: - Kano - (Parenthesis)? - Draconus? - ... Questions? thoughts? suggestions?
  15. Can't Simochi/Reficule turn any LP you gain into damage? Anyway, pretty sure the drawback is to discourage the player to use the effect carelessly, like playing it too early before the opponent Summons anything for the sake of being preventive.
  16. Spent around 60 orbs already and no Rank5 yet. Already spent the tickets from the Bonds event. I will roll some more as I get more daily and quest orbs, I want at least 1 Rank5 from the banner to make use of the increased rate. Ideally want Leanne but Tibarn is 2nd pick. I have enough decent greens so Reyson has less priority. I do have a bunch of colorless too but... Leanne is so beautiful.
  17. I like the concept. It occurred to me you could push it a bit more by making the monsters in this card's column become unaffected by cards in other card's columns. That would make the column battles much more intense. IDK if it may be too much though, because then you can use it to protect one of your big bosses.
  18. Huh, isn't this a 1-card FTK? Go first, open this, play it, banish all your hand since the first effect isn't OPT, then banish itself, win. If you opponent didn't open Snow Rabbit or PSYFrame Delta, it lost. By the way, Spell/Traps don't use the (Quick Effect) clause.
  19. Indeed. Psi Reflector now looks much more viable as a deck core for Link laddering or Synchro Summoning, or even as an engine.
  20. Of course, Reptile can work too. Again, it's just a nitpick. It can be a DARK/Fiend just fine, but personally I give priority to less used typings xD Also didn't think of Dangers! either although I do know other DARKs that like the GY. Should be fine then, IMO. I wouldn't worry about it being too restricted.
  21. I skipped the post withe Noisy Serpent. I like to see more Reptiles. It being a WATER but working with FIRE and WIND is rather amusing. At least it doesn't look as awkward as Fire & Ice Dragon and Desert Twister, although wish it had their same stats for a theme consistency.
