I held such guilt over failing to catch the killer, and suffered such persecution, that I began to doubt my innocence myself. Alas in the end this was my undoing as I die, alone, thought to be a killer by all. While the true killer escapes and frames me. My legacy is now that of a killer. Where once upon a time I was hailed as a hero I now die a villain. Tis a cruel twist of fate indeed.
