One of my parents' labradors unfortunately passed away.
She reached a respectable age of 14 years.
-
Been playing around with an AI that turns a "rough" sketch into something better looking.
Picture shows the initial sketch and a few iterations.
-
Eurovision song contest 2022 has started.
-
Recently came across a site that uses AI to generate images of new "Pokémon".
-
Given there is quite some variation in art styles between different cards (i.e. "Burning Abyss" vs "Live Twin"), I reckon you could just look for AI that generates images.
- Dall-E generates images based on a prompt, but it requires a subscription. It does provide a 3 month trial period, with a free credit taht is worth about $18.
- Artbreeder lets you select a few images and have it generate another one based on it, or tweak some parameters (such as age) to create a different image. An account is required, and any image you generate (upload?, not entirely sure; be careful wih copyrighted works) can be used by anyone.
With some other, more specialized options out there (focussing on creating paintings for example).
Also once ran into an AI that turns text to speech using famous voices (FakeYou.com), such as: Spongebob, Yami Yugi, Obama, etc. You could recognize the voices, but there was little control over which parts to emphasize.
-
Just finished playing the main story of "Bug Fables". I found it to be quite an enjoyable game. If you are a fan of the old Paper Mario games, you'll probably also like this game.
The theme has been implemented quite nicely (though the texturing has some room for improvement).

Got some very nice results on the Legendary Remix banner on the way to the guaranteed 5 summon (Fire Emblem Heroes):
- Siegbert: Future King
- Ryoma: Supreme Samurai
- Lyon: Demon King
- Robin: Fell Vessel
- Hríd: Icy Blade
- Ephraim: Legendary Lord (guaranteed 5)
Also got 2 "Knoll: Darkness Watcher", only one more is needed for him to reach +10.
-
Already had a +10 Lyon, who has a similar stat-line (and preferred weapon), so Knoll doesn't really do anything special for my barracks. Not that it matters; I like the Sacred Stones cast, and he could still be useful for modes like Arena Assault.
Building a green mage would have been more practical, as I don't have any merged beyond +3 (Boey), but most do not really stand out to me, and the ones that do tend to be 5-exclusive or seasonal. Might finish Boey. Also I'm planning to merge Orochi, but I don't have any copies to merge (yet). And with a bit of luck a nice other option drops soon.
-
(Fire Emblem Heroes:) Got a "Lucina: Brave Princess", "Ike: Brave Mercenary" (4-star focus), "Yarne: Timid Taguel", and "Edelgard: Adrestian Emperor" from the golden week celebration summoning tickets. Very satisfied with those results.
-
A colleague recently linked a cool AI that performs speech synthesis using famous voices such as Spongebob, Yami Yugi, Sonic, etc: vo.codes
So you can make them say anything you want, though the quality sometimes leaves something to desired.
-
(Genshin Impact:) The Acquainted Fates from levelling up characters, as part of v1.2, yielded me my second Diluc. (The first one was a weird looking Klee.)
-
Trying to get either a Halloween Tiki & Ninian, or Halloween Grima hasn't been going well so far. 2 Selkies, and a Gatrie have shown up instead.
-
Finished a +10 merge project in Fire Emblem Heroes today: Felicia.
So I now have a +10:
- Kana (M)
- Marisa
- Matthew
- Lyon
- Cormag
- Tethys
- Felicia (mentioned above)
Now to decide who to work on next. I could use some green units…
-
Sacred Stones was my first entry in the series, which could be part of the reason for liking it. There are some other units from that game I'm working on, but I don't have enough copies yet; Ross is currently stuck at +5.
I'm sort of curious which other units you have built, and if they indicate a preference similar to my units.
-
Originally planned to celebrate my birthday with family the coming weekend, but it will have to be postponed due to a certain pandemic.
-
Today I got enough Divine codes to get the third unit of a path; I went for Awakening/Fates.
Now to decide who wants Owain's "Blue Flame" and "Wrath". I'm thinking either giving it to Sharena, or my +10 Marisa.
-
Came across a Kickstarter for "Kindred Fates", a sort of Pokémon clone. It looks interesting.
According to the planning it will take some time before it will get released though.

The card maker has been updated, so it better integrates with the design of this site.
You should still be able to access any automatically saved card you were working on, by heading over to the "old" site.
-
The incorporation of the card maker into this site is being finalized, and should be ready for the site's anniversary.
As some code has been changed, it not unthinkable that issues might occur. Clearing the cache might sometimes work in that case.
-
Recently been thinking that the card maker needs a mascot of sorts. It would be featured on help pages, warning/error messages, and potentially serve as logo.
Don't really have an idea what it would look like though.

Hosting a competition to determine a mascot could be a fun way to get the community involved with the card maker. As I'm planning to bring back theming to the card maker, some top picks could each get their own theme. My only fear is that the community picks a mascot that I feel is hard to incorporate (far too detailed for example).

Card maker update: Longer effects should now suffer less from large jumps in font size.
The font size is now decremented in smaller steps to try make it fit. As a result it might find a slightly larger font size that still fits.
As the steps are made using absolute value, relatively large jumps in font size can still occur. But at that point I'd argue that your effect gets too long.

Today I got trapped inside the bathroom (of a vacation bungalow) because the lock on the door malfunctioned. The hinges of said door were removed to open it the other way.
Luckily help was nearby, so the entrapment didn't last too long.

The card maker can generate a random serial number for your card.
Furthermore, a rarity option is added for card with "gold" lettering.

Recently been playing with the Godot Game Engine.
It supports the creation of cross-platform 2D and 3D games, and has a decent editor for graphical user interfaces so it could also be used for "regular" applications.
So if you some of you are interested in creating games, you might want to check it out.
I'm unfortunately drawing a blank on what to create with it.
