  1. added a draft of the character app and a list of potential Event Duels
  2. It's once again time for the annual World Duel Nexus, a month long festival where duelists from around the world gather in teams to compete in specialized dueling tournaments, from Fusion and Xyz specialists to Entertainment and tag duelists, there's sure to be an event for everyone, all coming together in a team battle royal where points earned from winning events can be used to earn special cards to aid you and your allies. This year, to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of the event, a special set of cards has been released exclusively for competitors including the zodiac themed "Astrograhm" monsters, an archetype of low level monsters that can be discarded to summon a monster of the same attribute. A strange man has been seen challenging those seeking to collect the Astrograhms to duels and asking them to join his team for the festival, claiming to cover any travel expenses as well as entrance fees, but can a team of strangers really compete with company and country sponsored teams? and who is this mysterious man putting together "Team Fortune"? the RP would consist of two main halves. first a series of "Event Duels" where team representatives compete in specialized duels with unique rules and/or win conditions designed to best bring out the event's theme aspect of dueling. i these Event Duels winning the duel itself isn't nessecary, intead duelists are scored based on various aspects of their performance such as number of turns, resources used, combo's, ect. the second half would be a series of team action duels where action cards are "purchased" using points earned from winning previous Event Duels, any team member can use Victory Points to gain Action Cards so teamwork is key, who needs the additional resources? and when should they be saved for? a particularly selfish team member or unwise choice could lead the whole group to defeat.
  3. "How did we end up like this?" Sanwitch thought as they sat quietly in their seat, stuck between the feathered wings of an angel and that monstrous hunk of metal Melanie called a tool. "Every time there's a vehicle we end up stuck in the middle seat. Every. Single. Time. It's probably our size. Serafine was taller." they reasoned, looking at their "other body" sat on their lap until it was suddenly thrown forward by the vehicle braking, dragging their attention to the soldiers escorting the group. "Checkpoint 7-b's empty. I don't like the looks of this." one of them spoke into the intercom, irritating the druid to no end as it most likely meant more time stuck in the cramped transport. when the opportunity arose Sanwitch nearly jumped out of their seat to escape the confines of the overdrive, even if it meant they'd have to partake in removing whatever roadblock had stopped them. They were barely able to grab their staff, figuring they could use some sort of plant's roots to dig through the rubble and dirt, as they were nearly pushed out the vehicle by the return of their least favorite begrudging ally, Gardna, from his meditation. "I will follow. What shall you have me do?" the living shield's voice was magnificent, not so much that he compared to Kelova, but enough to stir memories of memories they couldn't quite place to Serafine or Sangan; and that left a bitter taste in Sanwitch's mouth. Tapping their wooden staff against the shield to garner his attention, much like a child would to a parent, Sanwitch quickly explained their plan "We were hoping to plant roots to ensure the ground beneath us was safe in the least but to cover such a large area will take some time. We also hoped if a surprise attack occurred you might warn us and protect our vessel until we're finished." They gestured towards the floating furball next to them, which in turn gestured to the air mimicking Sanwitch.
  4. it appears not, a couple of the participants seem to have lost interest or forgotten about it
  5. completely reasonable, I figured the growth spurt ability was a bit of a stretch anyway and only really included it as a nod to the card's effect. in terms of the transforming abilities i can certainly get more specific with how they work and which forms can be taken. honestly i kind of didn't even think about time/energy limits because of how i intended to have him use the power (in sudden instant bursts) and that was probably near sighted. I'll rework it and have it back in a couple days at the latest
  6. it would be helpful, just so i don't have to look up a list of cards every time i wanna see what's on your field to plan Asters move, but if your character explains what their cards do in IC I guess you wouldn't have to
  7. not a problem, i've had similar issues, i'll hold off on replying until everyone says whether or not they still want to continue though. also if you could pleasse in spoilers put the cards on your field (with effects and what not) it would be much appreciated
  8. "1 Tuner + 1 or more Negative Monsters When a monster is Synchro Summoned using only this card and other Synchro Monsters as Materials Special Summon the other Synchro Material Monsters. This card's Level is always treated as -5." I wanted to try for something that, while difficult to use with Link monsters being a thing, can theoretically be splashed into any deck seeking to quickly fill the board with synchro's, more specifically for when you don't have enough zones to get out materials and you don't want to lose the Synchro's you already have. I also really wanted to come up with a name who's acronym is "GAS" how about a Fire monster?
  9. Duel Monsters is at its peak in popularity, it’s the standard form of resolving conflicts, in many countries it is considered the most popular sport, and there are even pricey private schools to train for the pro circuit. For those that seek the fortune of a professional duelist without the fame, those who desire the funds to go pro, or those simply seeking a thrilling duel “Duel Castles” are the way to go. Places for duelists to come and participate in high stakes duels, often with their own twist or mysterious puzzles, these businesses offer an experience unlike any other and draw in duelists from across the globe in hopes of conquering the castle of their choice and earning whatever prizes lie within! The United States "Las Vegas Duel Castle & Casino" has opened it's doors and duelists, professional and casual alike, are quickly making their way to the tower and working their way up it's ten floors. It is the coveted top floors “Jackpot Duel” that yields the highest rewards, a battle royale fusion between Duel Monsters and Poker that few qualify to participate in, will you climb the castle walls and win the jackpot or crumble under the pressure and go bankrupt? basically players will be in a race to amass enough "LifePoint Chips", both the gambling currency and the measure of your lifepoints during duels, in order to qualify as a "high roller" to reach the tenth floor where the ultimate duel and grand prize for conquering the castle wait. each floor has it's own gimmick and rule change that participants will have to contend with in order to be victorious. but unique duels isn't all, the building is also full of other ways to earn the needed "LP Chips" by gambling on every game imaginable. the higher up the tower you travel the larger the minimum bets become, resulting in an escalation of risk and reward that will either propel your character forward or bury them in debt.
  10. yeah, kind of, I couldn't do much since Raven never responded to start the duel
  11. I put all of them in a spoiler at the top as well as replying to with them to the original post (Light/Dragon/Negative/Effect/8/2800/2400) "This card is always treated as a "Ying-Yang" monster and "Light and Darkness Dragon", This card is also treated as DARK-Attribute. This card cannot be Summoned except by it's own effect. When "Light and Darkness Dragon" is sent from your GY to your Deck you can Special Summon this card. Once per chain, during either players turn, you can shuffle one "Ying-Yang" Monster or "Light and Darkness Draogn" from your GY into the deck, negate the activation of a Spell, Trap, or Monster effect and destroy that card. This card's Level is also treated as -8." for some reason that was the first thing I thought of, anyways how about the "false god" from Lystêrns card as an upgrade for it
  12. giant monster fights are always fun, noting interest
  13. I got this one "When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 Negative monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck, in face-up Attack Position. This cards level is always treated as -4" And how about next something that isn't Light or Dark.
  14. my bad, thought it was self explainitory, it's just any monster who's Level/Rank is/has the capability of being a negative value
  15. not a super big deal but Luna's a boy (i know it's a more feminine name), the girl of the group is Elenor
  16. "Not so fast" Sota adjusted his glasses, finally taking his turn to address the crowd, and opened a folder he'd brought with him "This duel is a showcase of the rules for the event." he explained, pulling out six squares of cardboard. "These your lives, they can look however you want as long as you have no more than three." Luna, bored of all the talking, snatched the squares from Sota and ran off, handing three to Aster then three to his chosen opponent. "You need to bet these when you duel, when you run out you lose." Elenor continued while Sota glared angrily at the hooded boy. "Since this is just a showcase our two volunteers will only be betting one each." "Enough of that boring stuff though, let's have a bit of excitement huh?" Alex grabbed Aster, grinning for the crowd as he led the smaller boy to the dueling fields. Aster tried and failed to adjust his Duel Disk's strap while he waited for his opponent, an older silver model he got from his brother, his mother had offered to get him a new one for his birthday once but he refused, saying his brothers disk was good luck. after giving up in frustration he looked through his deck, a toy rabbit jumping on clouds, a stuffed bat with a single button eye, a plush looking toy chest, until she arrived. he stared at her, she'd been just as nervous as him in class, "Maybe this'll go well" he muttered. "You can go first, if you wanna . . ." his voice wavered making his fears apparent as he turned on his duel disk, the display orb in the center glowing blue and displaying "4000" and trying to link to his opponents newer model. his hand was ejected as the display changed "Duel Start!" Miss Chara looked to her lingering student quizzically "Is that so mister Tor?" She put her finger on her lips in a way she tended to do when thinking of something interesting before flashing a quick grin ad taking a seat behind her desk "I suppose it's only fair isn't it?" She grabbed a a spare sheet of paper and began drawing with a pen, a rough but not all that terrible drawing of what seemed to be a sorceress surrounded by runes. "You may not be aware but I just so happen to be the school writing club's Chaperone, you can probably imagine English is my preferred subject." she explained, handing Jacob her finished picture. "Although I do have a soft spot for the other creative arts, Duel Monsters being a close second." She looked over Jacob, noticing the crowd at the hill just out the classroom window. "But I'm sure you'd much rather see what your fellow classmates are up to than waste your recces in here, hm?"
  17. OOC (Please Read) Miss Chara added yet another check to her clipboard as the last of the students finished, silently taking note of Alex Solomon's return. "Wonderful everyone!" she checked the clock before continuing "Now that did take a tad longer than expected so we're going to run through the class rules real quick then it's off to recces." She quickly erased her own drawing from the blackboard before writing down something from her desk "I'm not as strict as some other teachers you may have had but there are is one rule that even this class has to follow, firstly, while I myself am a duelist, trading cards and playing duel monsters, along with any other disruptive activity during class time, will result in a punishment based on your offense and your history of disruptions." she turned to face them, a wide smile on her face as she linked her fingers together. "That being said, when you go outside you'll notice the playground has three dueling fields which you're welcome to enjoy." The group, having been informed by Alex that Jacob was no threat, eagerly stood at the hill waiting for the class to gather, a few of the more eager kids already waiting with duel disk in hand. Once everyone who seemed interested were together, including the guest of honor, Eleanor stepped forward. "Students of Miss Chara's class one o' four, you've been promised a duel monsters tournament by myself and the others beside me." she tried to sound as authoritative as possible, imagining her father on the phone with an employee. "We intend to give a full explanation but first we need two things, a volunteer and the person responsible for all of this. . ." Alex pushed in front of her, pointing towards the groups target, nothing but malice in his gaze "Aster Yutsu, this is all thanks to you!" Aster, who had been listening with excitement, his own poorly fitted duel disk sliding off his arm, jumped at the meanest boy in his grade calling him out. wanting to avoid angering him Aster quickly shuffled up the hill. "Cool, you brought you're stuff, that'll make this way easier!" Luna grinned, more sincerely than Alex or Eleanor, forcibly shaking hands with the boy. "this is gonna be awesome I bet!" "Thanks Luna." Aster replied, a bit confused at his classmates friendliness. "Oh, oh! El, let Aster pick!" Luna insisted, tapping her shoulder until she nodded in approval. "Umm, okay then. . . ." Aster scanned the small crowd of raised hands until his eyes settled on someone, a girl who seemed to have just arrived. "I pick . . . her."
