I thought about this last night while I was aimlessly driving around the walcmart parking lot.

Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes, and Dark Magician are all based around very popular monsters that have existed for two decades now, and they only have so much support because they've been peppered with it constantly over all that time. Archfiends are an enormous mess that combines the first take of them being Chess RNG, the second take that tries to make them a proper archetype, and a helluva lot of random cards that just happen to have the name (including a ton of Summoned Skull retrains).

Dark Worlds and Lightsworn are both archetypes that Konami has done multiple takes on, so that's why they got so many cards as is. Stardust is weird in that it isn't really much of an actual archetype, just a bunch of support for Stardust Dragon.

Blackwings (and Performapals definitely) are just a giant fuck. They just have way too many cards what the fuck are they even doing.

If you're really set on making a whole entire 20 cards, then do so for an archetype that doesn't have just one playstyle. Something like Nordics since they have 3 boss monsters but they all are summoned using completely different combos. That way you can support all 3 bosses, maybe make them mesh better with one another.

I can agree with this. Just trying to avoid a big mess of an archetype. Hence why I'm not willing to make a full deck of one-offs for an archetype. I can do it but it more works when it's done in a way that is fluid and allows the player to switch up their strategy based on their draws.

Then why are you saying you will make 20 cards? 20 cards is a big mess of an archetype.

I decided a long time ago it was Clear Vice Dragon and I have no real reason for it to have changed.

Sure thing, Cow. That's likely all it is. Honestly mean no ill will towards anyone. But finding a way to communicate that might be easier said than done. I'll figure something out though. Thanks for the input and thanks for your opinion. I'm likely just the monkey in the middle breaking my brain trying to get everyone to get along right now. Yeah, I've changed my objective since taking time off. I still have 26 days to figure out how to get everyone to get along. Also, trying to accomplish this without help from mods/admins. Thing is, while I feel I made the right decision, it seems like I just can't get my friends to get along. I'm just trying to bring my friends back together. My goal is to be here for everyone. Gentle reminder that this isn't OTHER FORUM and bringing stuff up from there isn't appreciated. A side comment or something of that like is passable, but this type of status just engages those who are "targeting" you to engage and bring the situation from OTHER FORUM to here.

We aren't going to act like OTHER FORUM doesn't exist, but we can separate their issues to the best of our abilities.

Sorry about the rant. What I said applies to both forums. I want to be here for the community as a whole if possible. Can't do that if I'm never present here. I get the point of stocking up. But say I have a 20oz Dr Pepper in my fridge and I go to the store to buy a 20oz Dr Pepper only to go back home and drink the one that I just bought. (This is more the discussion that we were in)

Again, not sure what the dilemma is here. If you feel like buying the same drink and drinking that instead of the one you already have in the fridge, then that's your decision, but you don't have to if you find it unnecessary. I have no reason to explain to you why you would in the first place, nor why you should.

Yeah. It's just one of those odd things that people do. But I have done it too and I often ask what purpose did this particular action serve and what made the drink in the fridge so damn special.

I'm talking mechanically, not just for flavor. Even though the dex entry for Slowbro in Yellow mentions it'll devolve if the Shellder detaches, the fact that it can't happen in the game means it's just flavor rather than an actual mechanic, considering Slowpoke just evolves into it at a certain level and not when a Shellder bites it in game. Same goes for Magnetron and Dugtrio; they don't become those from 3 of their predecessors combining, just by reaching a certain level.

That'd be an interesting concept, though, rather than literally putting two Pokemon together to fuse them, they just evolve into a different variation if you have certain Pokemon in your party, and it consumes it in the process.

Actually no, it wouldn't need to consume it, just be exposed to it in some way. Like maybe have an item equipped to both, then when the affected Pokemon evolves, it takes on the form of the other wearer. Then you keep the other one and keep raising them as you please.

I mean I understand why pokemon just makes the process instant even though most pokemon would technically grow into their larger evos naturally. That being said, going in order of the dex, the first evo stone we are exposed to is the Thunderstone.
