  1. To anyone looking to purchase Sword and Shield digitally tonight or in the morning, DO NOT DO IT. There is a glitch right now that seems to be connected to Sword and Shield digital copies, where it deletes ALL data from SD cards when the game crashes.

Some speculation that it's tied to the type of SD Card, exFat or something, but we aren't entirely sure if it's only happening to those or what's causing it yet. Either way, better to play it on the side of safe rather than sorry. I'll update if I find out more about what's causing it.

Some speculated that autosave caused it, but it seems like turning off the auto save feature won't stop it entire either.

I just read about this, and this is some fallout 76-level of bugs

from what I gathered, it seems like the problem is, ultimately, on the Switches OS since the error seems to be tied to a failing NAND read and the switches exFAT driver. The reason Pokemon SWSH seems to be triggering it specifically is because of how it accesses the NAND in a way that is, from what I gathered, unique. There's speculation that its because of autosaves and background content downloading.

Another thing thing I saw is that people seem to think its related to homebrewing and hacking, but as far as I know that's been disprove.
