  1. Rush Duels only use Rush Cards, which are going to be the standard going forward. Old cards aren’t applicable unless reprinted.
  2. New Master Rule As of April 1st, in the OCG ONLY, Fusion, Synchro and Xyz monsters will be summonable to the Main Monster Zone in addition to the Extra Monster Zone. The rules for Link Monsters will remain the same. You are not limited to 1 of each. For Pendulum monsters, they are almost identical, with one small change: Face-down pendulum monsters in the Extra Deck such as Nirvana High Paladin can be summoned to any zone the first time, but when pendulum summoned back to the field from the face-up extra deck they still must be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone, or a zone a link monster points to. The name for this update will be “Master Rules (April 1st 2020 Revision)” (not Master Rules 5 or 6 or New Master Rules 2). ----- Rush Duel Info The main concept about Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens is focusing around Rush Duels. But what are Rush Duels, exactly? From the brief Q&A held at the JUMP Festa with the main cast, “Rush Duel” is a new concept created by the protagonist, Yuuga. Apparently he doesn’t like the concept of “rules”, but rather building his own road forward (of course “road” being a pun on his own name). However, we quickly learned that from April 2020, Rush Duel will also be introduced as a new product for the OCG, as in, the physical card game. As explained in this schedule, on the right side of the “April 2020” red bar in the middle, the product branches into the existing 11th product season of the Official Card Game (with Rise of the Duelist being the first product of the season) and Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel (with an unnamed product). This also matches the premiere of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens anime, as well as the application of the Master Rules April 1st 2020 Revision. The three characteristics of “Rush Duels”: 1) Uses specialized cards. New cards that are easy to interpretate and very attractive are introduced! 2) Continuous Summoning. You can Summon any number of monsters per turn! 3) Mass drawing. Each turn, you draw until your hand becomes 5! For the first point, as you have probably seen in other articles, the cards look clearly different from standard Yugioh cards: Seventh-Load Magician/Seventh-Lord Magician Rushdragian Dragian For the second point, the stream clarified that for example, under the existing rules, you are only allowed 1 Normal Summon or Set per turn. In a Rush Duel, as long as you have monsters in your hand, you can keep playing as many as you want. If you have a Level 5 or higher monster, you can Tribute Summon it as usual in the same turn. The third point replenishes your hand after playing several monsters from your hand, by drawing cards in each of your turns until your hand size becomes 5. ----- Credit to YGOrg for translations and compilations.
  3. I am cautiously excited for all of the changes coming to Yu-Gi-Oh!... except the Anime. That looks far from promising.

On the one hand, I thought the aesthetic of the shows ever since Zexal (Technically started with 5D's, but were especially noticeable since Zexal) needed to be reined in, and I've wanted literally any other kind of art style.

This… is way too much in the other direction, however.

I know. Without Studio Gallop at the helm, it really feels they had no confidence with the existing media, and just decided to emulate every other TCG anime. Even the original Toei studio anime looks better.

I do so hope the rumours of Gallop working on a separate Yu-Gi-Oh Anime for the 25th anniversary are true. We'll find out tomorrow.

  4. "Do not worry about it," Omnimon patted Wormmon softly before standing back up. "I'm here because we were searching for any human survivors or stray digimon so we can lead them to safety," He folded his arms. "However, all we could find so far was all of you." "I-I see," Wormmon muttered, blushing a little bit. Mackenzie resisted the urge to give a little smile by how chuffed the digimon seemed, hugging it tighter. As they went along, Henderson explained all about the Digital World and Digivices, to the best of his ability. "So... I can help you... Grow bigger?" "Um, kinda," Wormmon shuffled around in Mackenzie's arms, "Like your teacher said, it's temporary... And there are different ways of going about it. Who knows what you need? Especially when I'm so small..." "... It will be okay," Mackenzie held the worm tight, pecking her on the head, "We'll figure out whatever it is." "We don't know. We just know it's somewhere in Colorado... and yes, it's so big we can see it from any where in the... 'United States'." "Psst, Mackenzie," Wormmon whispered, "What's a Colorado? Or a United States?" "Well... The United States is the country we're in," the girl spoke softly to her partner, so no one else could hear, "It's over 2500 miles wide, and that's just one ocean to the next... And Colorado is one of said states, almost all the way to the other side of the country." "A-and we can see it from here? That's insane!" Nodding, Mackenzie looked at the giant structure. It made her feel uneasy. Something that massive just didn't feel right. "Alright kids... find your houses, and get essentials. We'll meet at the train station in half an hour," Mr. Henderson said as he walked down the school stairs, looking for his home. "... I don't have anything," Mackenzie spoke quietly, face unmoving, "So I'll just wait here. Omnimon said no other humans were around, so it'd be a waste of time..." She trailed off a bit as she cradled Wormmon. The Digimon could tell something was wrong, but bit her tongue. Clearly it wasn't the time to press the issue.

For sure, soft theme is far better than a hard theme.
  6. Alright everyone, there's less than a month remaining in the Year of Rebirth! How will events go next year? Come chime in!

    Events in 2020

?YEAR OF REBIRTH? Suffice to say, the Year of Rebirth is drawing to close, with only one event left to remain, which is SOON, but that's another matter. What we're here to discuss is... What would people like to see for 2020's theme? Remember, it doesn't have to be specific. Rebirth was focused on celebrating new life here, though... it didn't exactly go off without a hitch. Sorry about that. It has sure been a year. But yeah! Please use this thread to discuss different event ideas for 2020, plus a theme (think broad, not specific), and anything else related to events going forward! I want to see what the community can come together to do, and I don't want anyone to feel bad about a small event! Even something like an Anime Secret Santa is a neat little thing you can do as a sort of event, or the RP awards! Just speak your mind
  8. "I see that I underestimated you. Fusion, Synchro, and Pendulum... Can I assume you're capable of Xyz as well?" Shannon asked as Alex ended her turn. "Of course I am. You don't train yourself as hard as I do only to skip a step somewhere!" "Oh, really? Well then, why don't I show you," Shannon drew the top card of her deck forcefully, her arm glowing bright from underneath the sleeve, "How special I truly am? I activate Pendulum of Souls again! I change the scales of my Pendulums to 1 and 8!" As the air began to grow tense around them, Shannon spread her arms wide. "Swing, Pendulum of Souls! From my hand, the Level 2 Galaxy Serpent and Level 4 Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer! From my Extra Deck, the Level 3 Hallohallo... And the Level 7 Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" As the four forms hit the field, the red glow from Shannon's arm couldn't be hidden, causing the girl pain, though she didn't show it. With a flick of her wrist she was pointing at Clear Wing, another counter appearing on Pendulum of Souls. "First, I use Clear Wing! D'Arc's attack becomes 0 for the rest of the turn, and her effects are negated!" As the green light shone on the fiendess, draining her, Shannon motioned to Libra, the scales rearranging as a star left one scale and went onto the other. "Then I use Magalibra and declare 1, removing a Level from my Galaxy Serpent and giving it to my Hallohallo!" Galaxy Serpent glowed blue for a moment as a similar red glow appeared on the jack-o-lantern, their sizes changing ever so slightly in accordance with their level change. Suddenly, the Serpent turned translucent, becoming a single green ring... with Clear Wing turning into a cluster of 7 bright stars, lining up within the ring. "I beckon to the emperor of flames, drawing from the power of the knights! His power rends his foes asunder, blasting it to pieces! Appear now, Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer!" From the bright light of the Synchro Summon, a dragon wielding a gunblade and a shield appeared, looking like a larger, more armored version of Luster. It growled loudly as a portal opened from Shannon's deck, revealing an ever so slightly more ornate version of Luster. "Once per turn, Ignister can summon a Dracoslayer from my deck in defense, and I choose Master Pendulum! But if you thought all I could do was Synchro, think again! Overlay!" Hallohallo turned into the same purple form as if for a Pendulum Summon, and Master Pendulum turned into a bright yellow one, as a galaxy-like vortex opened in the ground. As they went in, Shannon spoke up. "I beckon to the world of hope, the winds of the mages at my back! His justice cuts through the darkness, finding the best future for all! Appear, Majester Paladin, the Rising Dracoslayer!" The exploding galaxy revealed another knight like Luster, this time riding the back of a qilin with a tornado horn. Raising his blade to the sky, Majester made Shannon's deck shine for a moment as the girl bowed in thanks. "When Majester is summoned, his effect activates. When the turn ends, I can add a Pendulum Monster from my deck to my hand... if I'll need it. Next up, Luster, Risebell!" Clasping her hands together in reverence, she held them high as she began to speak, a red and blue vortex forming behind her. "I beckon to the methods of old, calling upon the power of long dead beasts! His shield holds back the mightiest enemies of life, his blade striking true! Appear before me, Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer!" Pulling her hands down in front of her face, the vortex consumed Luster and Risebell, flooding the arena with light as the giant mech-suit wearing Dracoslayer appeared, brandishing what looked to be steam-powered machinery in place of its usual weapons. Shannon released her hands and threw them wide with a grin. "Fusion! Synchro! Xyz! All in one turn! But that's not all! I activate the effect of Majester by detaching 1 Xyz Material from it..." Shannon removed the material, then reached into her Extra Deck and pulled a card out, "I get to return Luster Pendulum to the field! Then I activate Dinoster's effect, reviving Master Pendulum!" As both of the Pendulum dragon knights returned to the board, Shannon pointed at Ignister one more time, grinning wide. "But that's not all! Ignister, too, has another effect! I destroy Master Pendulum, returning Alexander to the extra deck!" The large red knight let out a battle cry, pulling its blade back dramatically. When it did, the form of Master began to wisp away, turning into flames that seemed to be absorbed into the sword, before Ignister took a swing, shooting a large wave of fire at Alexander, returning the king to whence he came. "That doesn't prove I'm special, but this will... I remove three counters from Pendulum of Souls!" The continuous spell let all three of its counters rise into the air and shatter, then Shannon's right arm began to glow brightly, the mark of the dragon clearly visible through her clothes at this point. "I call to the Pendulum of the alternate world, where everything has become one...! Return to the field with a second Pendulum Summon, Master Pendulum!" As the arc in the sky opened once more, the knight gracefully descended, taking his place opposite Luster, outside of the three Dracoslayer bosses. "Time for battle! Majester, destroy D'Arc!" The mounted paladin began to move, raising its cyclone blade high, summoning a small tornado to attack the fusion king, destroying it and dealing 1850 to Alex's life. (5600 -> 3750) "Then Dinoster!" The largest knight began to move slowly, steam releasing from its joints. It held its sword forward, as if to summon a gush of water... But it instead shot a laser, hitting Alex directly. (3750 -> 1750) "And now, for the coup de grace! Ignister, attack Alex directly and end this duel!" Luster closed his eyes to the side, looking away slightly as the fire dracoslayer charged forward, slashing Alex with his blade, and ending the duel. (1750 -> 0) As the duel began to fade away, Luster shot Shannon a look that confused her. What? She had won, hadn't she? And she needed to prove she was special, did she not? Was there a problem with how she handled it? Hmph. "Good game, Alex."
  9. "That's all? Hm, that won't do. You gotta bare your fangs!" Charlie leaned forward, motioning their hands like vampire fangs in front of their face, before pulling back with a small laugh, "Otherwise, I won't be forced to bare mine." Charlie drew for their turn and glanced at the 6 cards they held, scanning them. Luckily, Dog was the one they wanted back more of the two choices, and Owl was the one they wanted to leave on the board, so it worked out in their favor. Placing a card on their disk, a wheelsaw blade from the ground, a number of hand saws appearing to adorn and move up and down against it as the middle blade spun lazily, until a sinister laugh filled the air. Charlie placed a card from their hand into the Grave as bright red eyes lit up, a dark mist slowly filling the air around the saw blade. "Come on out, Edge Imp Saw! When I summon this baby, I get to discard a Fluffal, draw 2, then put a card from my hand on top of the deck!" Peter raised an eyebrow. “That counts as cute?” he said. “You don’t think it’s cute?” Charlie looked at the saw, cocking their head, “I think it is. But you know what’s cuter? I activate the effect of Fluffal Owl to Fusion Summon!” Charlie’s Life Points ticked down from 6700 to 6200 as Owl rose to the sky, flapping its wings above owl. The space around them seemed to distort as they began to blend together, becoming a bright red and blue vortex as Charlie clasped their hands together in front of them, almost as if in prayer. “Whirring saws and cuddly fluff, come together in a new form! Tear the world apart with your adorable claws! Fusion Summon! Appear, Frightfur Leo!" As the whirling vortex began to take form, a sinister cackle filled the area. From it, a beast standing 15 feet tall appeared, looking like a stuffed lion… except with blade sticking out of it. Saw blades for a mane, with smaller ones adorning it, serrated knives for claws, and its very body torn down the center by another large wheelsaw. It was the farthest thing from cute to just about anyone as it continued to cackle madly, but… “There’s my big cute fluffy lion!” Charlie had somehow found their way to the beast’s leg, hugging and cuddling the abomination, “You’re gonna do a good job for Charlie, right~?” With a weirdly tame growl the beast seemed to nod, earning a big grin from Charlie. “Now I activate Leo’s effect! I target Blue-Eyes White Dragon… and destroy it, inflicting damage to you equal to its attack!” “Equal to its attack?” Peter repeated. He bit his lip. “Hm, definitely not cute.” “Hey, leave Leo alone! It’s super cute!” Charlie puffed their cheeks out before pointing at Blue-Eyes, “Destroy it!” Each of the blades on the beast whirred to life, the smaller ones around its mane in particular detaching and flying at the dragon with a jester-like laugh. As the blades sank into Blue-Eyes’ flesh, the creature exploded, lowering Peter’s 8000 life points to 5000. “I’ll set 2, and then I guess that’s all I can do for now,” They hummed a bit, returning to their original standing place, “But remember what I said about your fangs, buddy~”
  10. "You two are being rude!" Charlie popped in, puffing their cheeks out and shoving their hands by their sides, "You shouldn't be treating someone like that, especially not their first day here!" Turning away from their teammates, Charlie gave Peter and the rest of the newbies a big bow, sighing a bit. "I'm so sorry about that! Hana doesn't exactly, uh... yeah, and Avi is... Well, he doesn't mince words much. But it's okay, he can put his money where his mouth is!" “I don’t know. I’m only fourteen, after all. But I don’t think I would be here if I wasn’t pretty good, I mean.” "Oho?" Charlie grinned in a way that could be called positively feline, "Well then, how would you like to be the first one to try out? Avi may be the strongest on the team, but I'm no slouch either~" Charlie headed to the far side of the small gym, humming softly before turning around on their heel, bringing their arm down. As they did, their disk activated as they smiled and motioned to the other side of the room. "Of course, you don't have to be the first, if you don't want. The challenge is up for anyone to battle me and my adorable babies~"

    NCM (nearly) a year on

There haven’t been as many events as I would have liked, but “Year of Rebirth” still seems fitting for both the site and many of its members, myself absolutely included. Might make a thread about my year later, but not here. It is sad that we’ve lost people, but I honestly think we lost more to people simply moving on with their life than anything else, and what better way to part with people? To our, let’s say, “alumni”, I wish the best. The past year has been a pleasantly wild ride, and I’m proud to be a part of this community. This place is a bit sleepy, but that’s okay. It’s a place that can be called home, without any sort of trepidation. I hope we thrive, moving forward, and thanks to everyone who had faith in us to take a leap.
  14. Ada had refused the ride from Raynor gracefully. Without her full robes, the sun was eating at her a bit, but at least she wasn't overheating. And maybe Layne would be able to help with the sunburn it gave her. How anyone thought she was Aeoran with such fair skin was beyond her, but she couldn't help but grumble as she watched Edda climb on Gojira. Sure she got ahead of herself sometimes, but it didn't warrant that kind of aggression. But that had to be set aside. For now, this pompous paladin and his unit stood between them and their goal. And, yet again, she seemed to be excluded from the "northerners". Fine. It would just be a bigger surprise when she revealed her magic. "If...If you keep going back you can get out of here. They would stay here to try and take me and you could have time to get away. There's no reason to stay here and get caught up in this." Ada grit her teeth as Rona said her piece, ready to give the girl a piece of her own mind, but she was shocked to hear someone beat her to it. "N-no way!" Yue shouted, though for another person it would be considered normal volume. "Th-there's no way we're leaving any of you behind. R-Rona, you're...uhh..." she trailed off, blushing, then shaking her head. "You're members of the Iron Falcons, and Edda is a client. Leon taught us to stand by each other, and we can't let a client get hurt either. So...don't say such sad things." "... She's right, you know." Ada sighed and rubbed the back of her head, trying to calm herself down, "Besides... Aeoran, Jouran, who cares? We're a group. We need to lean on each other, not run off or fight. Not to mention, I'm a devil like you, whether they know it or not." Ada followed the wyvern rider, standing side-by-side with her, keeping her tome hidden until the moment she needed it.
  15. Charlie let out a sigh as they finished setting up the chairs along the wall. Any potential recruits would be showing up soon, but if last year was anything to go by, it wouldn't be many. They had finally made their way up to co-captain, alongside a friend, but what did it really matter if no one new joined? It was just the three of them, after all. The senior clapped their hands together as everything was all set up. They had wasted enough time on negativity, it would just scare the new recruits off! Besides, Avi would be standoffish enough on his own. Charlie prepared to sit down when the door to the auditorium slammed open, revealing a short brunette girl, loudly proclaiming her presence. “All of you present, bow before your new Mascot, your True, Final Boss, if you will!” "Oh my~" Charlie laughed softly and approached Terry as the girl finished, "Well, you're certainly cute enough to be our new mascot. Why don't you take a seat in one of our wretched, dreadful chairs?" "Aha! I made it! Heeey! Oh, hi, where'd you come from?" Hana appeared and looked Terry up and down, pointed at her, and loudly declared, "First year! We got one everyone! Welcome to our...club? Team? Army?" She leaned past Terry towards the people sitting at the chairs, missing Charlie. "Guuuuys, what are we again?" "A Duel Team, Hana. And I'm glad you made it in time, though you have a little... something on your face. Did you taste test again?" "Makoto Kondo, here for tryouts!" "Seems I made it with time to spare. David Kripaldi, here to tryout for the Duel Team." "Wooow, three already?!" Charlie beamed, quickly shaking the hands of both, "Come in, come in! We'd love to have you here at Horizon's Duel Team!" And still another person! A whole four new people looking to join the team! It was a miracle come true! "Welcome, welcome!" The co-captain absolutely radiated their joy as they ushered the last arrival, a small boy, to a seat as well. After a small wait where no one else came, it would be apparent to the newcomers how few of them there were. In spite of that, Charlie bowed in front of them, grinning ear to ear. "Welcome to the Duel Team try outs! I'm Charlie, one of your co-captains! That guy sulking over there is Avi, the other co-captain, but don't bother him too much. And I believe at least one of you already met Hana... Well, you two should really introduce yourselves! And I believe the rest of you are... Terry, Makoto, David, and..." Charlie remembered the fourth boy, cocking their head, "I'm so sorry, I rushed you and never got your name. Um, feel free to introduce yourself, too! Once we get that all in order, we can start the tryouts!"
  16. Smile at the group getting along, nodding a bit. "I dunno... We're a bit more frail than our other companion. I say Berserker is best to scope it out, she won't go down easy."
  17. "And now, Battle Phase! To start things off right, let's get rid of that dragon. I attack Clear Wing Fast Dragon with D/D/D Doom King Armageddon!" "I activate Clear Wing's effect! I negate any further effects from Genghis for the rest of the turn, and his attack becomes 0!" "Hmmm... unfortunate. That's some damage saved from you I guess. But even if it's halved, you still take the damage from this battle!" "I should have negated the effect... Got a bit greedy there," Shannon closed her eyes as her dragon was destroyed, the pain in her arm intensifying for a brief moment. As she clutched at it, she flashed her opponent a smile. "Not bad. Didn't expect someone in Turbo to be playing Pendulums, other than myself. But now, it's my turn! Let's make some magic happen!" Shannon drew the top card of her deck dramatically. As she pulled it back to look at it, a smile crept onto her face, before immediately placing it onto the field. As it formed, what looked to be an unlit Jack-O-Lantern rose from the ground, quickly followed by a witch's hat and a cape attaching themselves to it. Its features didn't move, but a child's laugh could be heard from the being that appeared next to Risebell. "I normal summon Hallohallo! And I'll immediately use it and Risebell as material!" Shannon held her hand to the sky once more, a slight red flash being able to be seen through her sleeve. Hallohallo turned into 3 green rings, soon followed by Risebell becoming three stars once more, a crack appearing in the sky above the pillar. "From the next timeline, the true king's soul burns bright! His loyal scion descends, burning away those who dare stand before the king! Appear now on this plane, Red Wyvern!" The light of a Synchro Summon filled the room once more, obscuring the scene, but not the sounds, of the dragon's appearance. Screeches and cracks were heard as it appeared, a flap of its wings dispelling the light and filling the room with hot air. The burning wyvern reared its head back, flinging it forward with a burst of crimson fire that overtook Armageddon, burning it to nothing. "Once while I control Red Wyvern, it can destroy an opponent's monster that has higher attack than it does! Then I'll activate the effect of my Pendulum of Souls, changing the scales of my monsters from 1 and 6 to 2 and 7! And then... Pendulum Summon!" The arc in the sky opened once more, producing a familiar green energy, as well as a new purple one, hitting the field with a small quake. On either side of Red Wyvern now stood Hallohallo and Risebell, their attacks both 1400. "And as you know, Pendulum of Souls gains a counter when I pendulum summon, so both of my Pendulums gain 600 attack! Battle! Red Wyvern, destroy Genghis!" With a loud screech, the dragon shot another burst of flame, destroying the D/D/D and dropping Alex's life points to 6600. However, when the smoke cleared, a two-headed werewolf-like monster growled at Shannon and her monsters. "When I take damage, I can special summon D/D Orthros from my hand. I summon him in defense position." "Well, that's a shame. However, Risebell can still destroy Swirlal Slime!" Risebell snapped his fingers, a clay doll falling down on top of Swirlal, causing bites of goo to splatter around the area. "Maybe I should have let Hallohallo handle that... But, I still get this effect!" The Dragoon in her Pendulum Scale suddenly shot its gun into the air, its mount bellowing. Reaching up, Shannon caught the 'bullet' as it fell back down, before reaching to her deck and pulling a card from it. "When a Normal Monster destroys a monster by battle while I control Dragoons of Draconia, I can add a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from my deck to my hand. And I choose Galaxy Serpent! However, I must now pass the turn back to you, Miss Alex."
  18. I'm excited for BDII, but kinda feel like I wasted the next 1.5 hours of my life on a really boring show.

  19. “Hm... a wish of fairness. I’m not sure how I’d phrase what I’m thinking right now, but I dislike how lopsided this situation we find ourselves in is, and I would like to find a solution, moving forward.”

  21. Stubbornly insist that Caster eats too. Everyone should eat, it’s a good way to build camaraderie. Prepare simple meal of assorted sandwiches and sodas, plus a bottle of champagne for a toast.
  22. Lopt noted how uncomfortable he made Sieg, as well as how agitated he made Catriona, resisting the urge to smile. At least, until the dragonslayer began his sob story. For someone so brooding and standoffish from before to be this depressing... What had happened to him? Lopt's earlier comments about young people were more aimed at deriding Jekyll than seriously putting doubt into the minds of these people, yet here this young man was a veritable ball of nerves with a strong front. Did that make him more interesting, or less? Was he an enemy of the Jaeger, or simply someone rolling in self-loathing? Whichever the case was, Lopt intended to follow along. After all, he had committed to this bit. However, following along would have to wait until the cat was done with him. Boy, did she look unamused. "It's a very ugly thing to get in the way of a woman's feelings. Doubly so given the cute front of yours." she started with a serious pitch and tone as yet unknown to her voice by any of the people she'd met today. But it wasn't long before the usual playful face and voice returned. "Do it again and I'll kill you, 'kay?" "Veeeeeeery cute~" Lopt spoke with a cutesy female voice, all pretense dropped as the cat was the only one in earshot, "But who would have interest in such a whore? Lust only gets you so far, miss. You should learn how to have real fun~" Lopt's voice returned to normal as Catriona left, shaking his head and laughing. It would seem he had a rival who saw right through him from the start. And she also enjoyed toying with unsuspecting people. Much the same taste, too. But who would keep their act up longer...? Shrugging, he followed after Sieg, only to find the dragonslayer sinking into a corner. This one was a bit... delicate, so he decided to take the seat furthest from him against the wall, crossing his fingers and smiling softly. "So, what are you, then, if not a Jaeger?" Lopt asked, smiling but taking care to not make eye contact, as not to scare his quarry, "You seem like you've been through a lot in your life, even though you don't look much older than me... You don't have to talk if you don't want to, but maybe you can make a new friend? I know I would appreciate having someone strong in my corner."
  23. "Alright then, I'll leave it to you." Shannon slid her deck into her duel disk, extending her free hand out, open palmed, "Would you like to go first, or shall I?" "You can have the first turn," Alex replied, already drawing her starting hand. "Consider this a test of character. Or something." "A test of character?" Shannon drew her hand, smiling, "My, I believe I've already proven that... After all, I'm a leader in my own right." --D U E L S T A R T-- "Souls... that's a good place to start. The rest could be a little better, but I think this can work." Shannon thought, looking over her hand intently. She didn't see her ace, but her arm was throbbing all the same, the plan clear. With a deep breath, Shannon took two cards from her hand, placing them on the far ends of her disk. "First, I'll set the Pendulum Scales with Magicalibra and Dragoons of Draconia!" The room dimmed as two pillars of light appeared on either side of Shannon, illuminating the area with a faint blue glow. On her left, a sentient scale, rose from the ground, creaking with a slight mechanical sound. On the right, a lizardman ruffian with a rifle, atop a dinosaur with flames burning bright on parts of its body. Numbers appeared beneath the pair of Pendulums, with 5 and 2 appearing respectively. With a flick of her wrist, another spell appeared on the field, shining brightly in the dimmed room. "I call to the other side of the Pendulum! Pendulum of Souls appears! Once per turn, I can use this card's effect to change the scales of my Pendulums, as long as their number doesn't go below 1. So, I'll change them to scales 6 and 1!" The numbers between each ticked, Magicalibra up as Dragoons went down, a noise like a clock filling the area. "Then I'll activate Unexpected Dai, allowing me to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from my deck, and I choose Angel Trumpeter!" The spell dissolved into a circle of light, a small fairy-like creature emerging from it. It spread its leafy wings as it raised a flower horn to the sky, filling the air with a soft melody as it played. With a nod, Shannon placed another card on the field, a young boy with long brown hair appearing next to the tiny flower fairy, gently twirling the air around his fingers to make a small tornado in his palm. "Then I'll normal summon Risebell the Summoner. But he won't be around for long! Let's go!" Shannon threw her open hand to the sky as Angel Trumpeter began to play more loudly. The tune swelled until its body turned translucent, then disappeared entirely with only four green rings left of its form. Shannon reached forward, the rings assembling into a loose column around Risebell, the boy's body also turning translucent, then into three brightly shining lights. As the lights formed up directly between each of the 4 rings, Shannon's arm throbbed harder, causing the girl to wince. "From the parallel dimension, the dragon's roar echoes! The wind whips in this world where speed is king, unifying the cries of the powerless! Appear now from beyond space and time..." As Shannon brought her hand back down, bright green light filled the room from the column of rings and lights, blinding the three people present. A cracking noise was heard as a line seemed to tear down the center of the light, dispelling it as glass-like wings spread and filled the room with gusts of wind. "Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" The legless dragon roared loudly as its summon concluded, landing where Risebell had been standing, though greatly dwarfing him. Shannon placed one hand on Clear Wing and sighed, the pain in her arm fading a bit. "Finally, I call to the Pendulum of Souls! Return to the field, Risebell!" The sky began to swirl above the field, opening slightly so that a lime green light could shoot down from it, taking the form of the young boy kneeling next to Clear Wing, blocking its body. Amidst the noise, a sound like a coin falling down a slot could be heard, and Clear Wing's attack rose from 2500 to 2800. "Whenever I Pendulum Summon, I can place a counter on Pendulum of Souls, and each Pendulum Monster on the field gains 300 ATK per counter. With that, I'll pass the turn to you."
  24. "I agree, but function over fashion. Hopefully this doesn't last long enough to NEED sprucing up. For now, let's make things nice for our guests and set up a decent meal. Who knows if they've done anything." Head out and procure ingredients and drinks for a decent, but simple, meal. Also, take a bench from one of the warehouses to serve as a table to dine at.
