  1. We had no effects or name confirmation until earlier this hour, less than 50 minute ago. Just follow the rules already.
  2. That’s just more restrictions for no good reason. You should be able to figure out what cards do by reading.
  3. Shannon had listened to her new family as they went, making notes for each mentally. Kiyoko was altruistic and eager, much like herself, but she seemed to not realize that the others needed swaying. Still, it was nice to have someone with the same drive around. Octavia, who seemed rather plain, surprised her. She didn't expect the girl's motivations... or that she would be scolded like that. Interesting. The spirit girl, Hotaru, who chose not to speak up. How... passive. Natsumi, who it seemed had a spirit of her own, but otherwise blended in. The worm also made Shannon's skin crawl ever so slightly. Jet... seemed like he needed some help. A lot of it. She would make sure to guide and aid him, as he required. Hypatia was an amnesiac. With a flair for the dramatic. Shannon cast a glance to her deck before she continued watching the group. Tora was... normal, really. She didn't stand out, other than raising her voice, and she wasn't plain like Octavia... but she still felt resoundingly normal. Raijin, who had seemed so snippy, quickly followed Tora's remarks. Shannon couldn't help but let out a small giggle at that. Leiko spoke again... And the girl had no confidence at all. Or knowledge. She would be a challenge. But, like Jet, it was her job to take care of this girl. And, Zirco brought up the rear. By far the most boorish of the group, Shannon could only sigh as he turned the event into a physical altercation. He was probably the biggest problem child they would have. She opened her mouth to tell him to knock it off, but the scene was over before she even could, with Mr. E whisking them away. Well, it was for the best. A leader shouldn't be harsh too early. ----- Shannon had followed along with the tour happily, simply observing their new home. Despite being a prison, it seemed as if it was an upgrade from her old facilities, even without the staff. And, to each and every one, she had introduced herself the same, likely to the chagrin of her teammates. "I am Shannon Almaz, the leader of our little group. It's a pleasure to meet you." And with that out of the way, Mr. E had gone off to go swimming. Curious, but the man was nothing if not capricious. Instead, Shannon directed her attention to her only teammate who spoke up to her in a civil manner. "Your name was Octavia, correct?" She smiled softly, "I was planning to go claim a room before anything else... And I would like you to be my roommate. Is that quite alright?"
  4. Diana cocked her head to the side as she walked with Shoshiki, worried that she had said something wrong. He hadn't spoken a word since they had been travelling together, and it was worrying her. How could they be an effective team if he wouldn't communicate with her...? However, those thoughts had to be pushed out of her mind for the time being. As they trailed Yuuka, another contestant had approached her, though he appeared to be only talking. Keeping her exposed eye peeled, Diana peeked around a building to watch, ready to sprint the first time he made any funny moves. Yuuka seemed to be keeping casual about it, but it still seemed suspect this far into the exam... "Be ready," She whispered as much to herself as Shoshiki. And then it happened. The boy seemed to make a move, with colors appearing around the pinned medals. Diana cleared the distance quickly, taking a swing at the boy's head with her left arm, only to be caught off guard moments before impact. "Uuhhhh let's start over? My name's Itsuki Watanabe, pleased to meet you?" The boy, Itsuki, said with a nervous laugh. But it was too late. The girl was already in motion, and her left hook collided with his head from behind, sending him sprawling down the road. He was just like them, trying to figure out the way to go... Turning to Yuuka, she motioned to where Itsuki stopped moving, her expression making her thoughts apparent. "Hey, uh... is it really okay for us to take his medals?"

  10. Lexjiv because Josh, Joshua, and Black are all chock full of consonants.
  11. "Hm... I'm not so sure about that, Mr. Kaiba." Shannon tapped her fingertips together, smiling pleasantly as she challenged the man who took charge of their lives right now. "I'm sure you already know of me. I'm here because I'm supposed to be. However, I don't believe the rest of our little family here is as eager as I am to take hold of their destinies. I don't know where they came from, or what they want to do with their lives... But is one million dollars and a house enough?" The light-haired girl crossed her legs, placing her laced fingers in her lap as she continued to speak. She did not care about the money, the house, or anything like that. Why, that wouldn't suit the hero, would it? But, even more than that, she was the leader to the rest of these. The scared. Gloomy. Awkward. Angry. Plain. This group was her responsibility, and only she could handle them, of course. "After what they've been through, and with the considerable wealth of KaibaCorp factored in... Surely you could spear a billion each?" Despite the ridiculous demand, Shannon exuded confidence, her pleasant smile still gracing her face. Anyone looking at her could tell that she believed her demands to be a foregone conclusion. And, to make such even more evident, she turned from Blues in order to address the rest of her signers, her confidence still evident when she continued. "Now, we should probably settle in and get to know each other better, yes? We have the pleasantries out of the way, and I'm sure no one would like to turn down Mr Kaiba's generous offer of a house of your choosing plus a billion dollars. The sooner we get to know each other, the sooner our family will come to love each other, despite the tense beginnings." As Shannon continued to assert her station, Luster Pendulum simply ignored Dragonecro. The difference in size was massive, but the knight had faced similar in the past. And the worm didn't earn his attention, either. No, what bothered him was the so-called Magus. To the spirit, he felt... Off. Luster couldn't quite put his thumb on it, but he was definitely not right. He stood in silence as Shannon gave her speech, shooting Mr. E a glare before fading away.
  12. "I'm telling you, Layne, it's bear! There's no mistaking that texture, that sweet and meaty flavor! Your body just has to be ready! They could have done with picking a better time of year, but other than that... Yum!" Ada dug into the stew she had with joy, chewing happily. Her excitement over the meal had gotten her mind off of the money and the situation, but it had also drawn unwanted attention in the room. Before she knew it, she realized eyes were on the two of them, taking another bite of the food and chewing it slowly. As she swallowed, she nudged Layne with her foot, glancing at the door. "Hey, uh... I don't think we're exactly welcome here. Maybe we should finish up and head out quickly..." Ada whispered, before she lifted the bowl and seemed to inhale the remaining stew. She licked at her lips as she adjusted, preparing to get up and leave. "Whenever you're ready."
  13. This time again! Just use the sorter linked to do it. I recommend turning Major Forms on. https://www.dragonflycave.com/favorite.html I did my top 20 (+2). Just to keep it fair, with only 1 Pokemon per evolutionary line in the actual top 20.
  14. Diana's eyes went wide as the boy's body seemed to extend, paying close attention to how it seemed to come apart. The girl stood, enthralled, hardly even noticing as he handed her the badges. "Oh, uh, y-yeah. That's a cool quirk you have!" Shaking it off, Diana quickly pulled her bag off of her shoulders, sliding the badges in before turning to Yuuka. However, the other girl had her own idea as she attached her badges to her clothing. Diana frowned a little as the girl began to lay out her plan, but she had to admit, she had the right idea. Pondering for a moment, Diana nodded and sighed, feeling a little deflated. "I guess it's alright if we're just taking them from those who would attack others... Even if baiting feels a bit wrong. You two ready?" Casting a glance at the boy, whose name she still had not caught, the two of them walked through the area, trailing Yuuka just enough to keep her in earshot. It was a logical course of action, regardless of Diana's personal feelings... and it did mitigate collateral. As she opened her mouth to speak to her companion, she tripped over something in the road, catching herself just in time. And, to her surprise, it was a wallet. Lifting the wallet up, she saw an address listed on it... And the buildings in the area had matching schemes. "Hm... I guess we should return this when we pass by, right?" The duo continued walking, with no major developments, "So, uh... what's your name, <anyway>? I never managed to catch it, and it's probably best for me to know who to call." She put on a smile, fiddling with the wallet with her right hand, absentmindedly, "And man, what are you, a <scarecrow>? Er, or whatever you guys call it. You look like you really need a brain!" She laughed a little at her joke as they arrived at the address. She ran up to the door and knocked on it, only for a man to prompt her to return the wallet. She did so energetically, before she bowed dramatically in thanks, then jogged back to Shoshiki, badge safely tucked in her backpack. "Well, that's 2 each, now! 9 more and we're all golden!" Badges on hand: 4
  15. Shannon had watched the events unfold with curiosity. It was strange that this man was to be the... father to their family, so to speak, but he did seem like he meant some of what he said. And his comments about Hotaru drew her attention. Looking at the girl as Mr. E teased her, she saw a serpentine, undead dragon behind the girl. And, true to the man's words, he did not appear too pleased. Shannon smiled, pleased that it seemed that the only others who could see the creature were Hotaru and Mr. E. After all, she was special. Mr. E was clearly special. Perhaps, Hotaru was also special? "This is our new home then?" Shannon asked no one in particular, "Well, it can't be worse than the labs we come from, can it? Though, I'll miss James and the rest of the staff... But, we'll just forge new bonds together, right?" Standing up and giving a small bow, Shannon scanned the group. Edgy boy, plain girl, Hotaru, lanky boy, and others were part of the merry band. A nice mix of members, even if most were female. Simply perfect. "As said, I am Shannon Almaz, and my mark is the Head. I've been told it signifies the leader of our little party. I'm sure we all have questions for our eccentric 'handler', but it would probably be for the best that we get to know one another, as well. After all, we're family now. And I think there's more to discuss than he told us... Such as the fact that I'm from Cradle City. Or maybe... This is better?" Shannon produced a card from her pocket, revealing only the art and name of the card. Luster Pendulum the Dracoslayer. As she did, the spirit of the creature appeared beside her, invisible to all but Hotaru and Mr. E. "Luster Pendulum is my Duel Dragon. How about all of you?"
  16. Deep inside of a hidden facility within Cradle City, a teenage girl awoke. The sun was just beginning to rise, although she didn't know it. She hadn't seen the sun in years. But that was just one of many trials she had to overcome, and she had long since made peace with it. Sitting up in her cot, she grabbed her brush and began to tend to her hair. Flowing, beautiful, with the colors of the rainbow seemingly shining through it, despite her dimly lit cell. Standing with a stretch, she smoothed her nightgown off and walked to the door of her cell, knocking on it. "Jacob, I need my best suit for today. I trust it was taken to the cleaners?" "Of course, Ms. Almaz." By all accounts, the girl's behavior did not make any sense. She seemed to be locked in a room with little-to-no comforts, but she acted as if she was the queen of her castle. And, if the speed with which the door opened and a clothing rack was pushed in was any indicator, she probably was. The girl examined the black suit, looking for any wrinkles, lint, or other issues... and smiled softly as she found none. "Perfect. Thank you, Jacob, leave the door unlocked and I'll be out when I'm done getting dressed." ----- Walking down the hall with Jacob, her handler, the girl seemed to be in charge of the facility. Headed towards a destiny she had been informed of the night before, the girl hummed softly, watching her prison leave her sight for the last time. And, in a way, she would miss it. It became clear fairly early into her stay that she would not give them any trouble. Protocol was followed strictly early on, but they had loosened the rules for her with time, realizing that she was determined to get through it, whether she chose it or not. Her room being locked at night was about the only thing they actually enforced, and that was just a formality. After all her trials, all the experiments, the girl had finally manifested the mark of the chosen one earlier this month. And today was the day where she would meet the "others" she had heard about for so long. Would she get along with them? Would they follow her lead, as the most chosen among them? Well, of course they would. Shannon Almaz was born to be a hero. A leader. A savior. Looking at the mark on her arm, the dragon's head looked fierce and foreign to her, yet somehow... perfect. The true mark of the leader of this group to be formed. Surely, this new power would serve the world well. And Shannon had taken the mantle upon herself with her teeth grit. With arms outstretched. Truly, she had overcome to reach this point. ----- As Shannon and her handler stepped out of the car, the girl raised a brow. This dump was where her story would begin? It didn't seem like much, but... She would take what the world gave her. With a somewhat sad look on her face, Shannon turned to Jacob and embraced him, the older gentleman hugging her in return. "I'm going to miss you, Jacob. Thank you for all that you and the others have done for me over the years." The old man furrowed his brow as Shannon thanked him and closed her eyes, letting out a sigh and making sure his appearance was back to normal before she opened her eyes. He was worried for the girl, but it was out of his hands. "Of course, Ms. Almaz. We wish you the best." Wiping a tear from her eye, Shannon turned away and nodded, taking her first step towards the prison. "I'll live up to what you all have given me." ----- Shannon sat down at the table with a smile on her face, her hand clutching the mark hidden underneath her right sleeve. Here she was, with her new peers. Her new family. And why should she be nervous? She was there to guide them. Lead them. Her hand was trembling with excitement, of course. With a deep breath, she opened her mouth to speak, her sweet voice flowing from her lips like a melody. "Nice to meet you all. I am Shannon Almaz. I look forward to working with you all, and I hope to be a good example."
  17. We should have a rough draft up for member groups in the next couple days. Look forward to it!

  18. I wasn’t sure about the other one, but this one is definitely locked. Cards must not be posted in discussions for at least an hour after their reveal. Place it in the appropriate news thread.

    Introduction

    Welcome to new home!
  20. "<justice>" <"Hell yeah, JUSTICE!"> "Yeah, that's it!" Diana grinned as she had some people join her small cheer. One of them was a giant beetle of a man, who proceeded to goad someone else. Not very justice-like, Diana felt, but maybe he would learn here. The other was a smaller girl with pale skin. Hardly the type that looked like she belonged here... Deciding that she should probably start up a conversation with the girl, she was caught off guard when a squirrely-looking boy covered in stitches approached the smaller girl. Diana waited for a moment and tried to listen in, but his voice didn't quite make it to her ears. She opened her mouth to join in, only to be cut off by the old man and samurai. After a short explanation of the exam, the boastful girl and then the girl she wanted to talk to went up, followed by a thin boy about her height headed up there. Determined to not fall too far behind, Diana rushed to the front as the others entered, taking her badge with a grin on her face, clutching it tight in her left hand and extending it upward as she looked over her fellow examinees. "<My name is Diana Seigi! Yo-ro-shee-coo!>" Turning her back to the group, she threw her badge into her backpack and entered the exam area, following after Yuuka. The beetle boy might be a blowhard, but Yuuka seemed alright. She caught up to the white-haired girl as she neared the city, flashing her whites. "Yo, you were the girl that joined in my call for justice, right? I'm Diana, and I was wondering if you'd want to team up with me? I can offer strength, but I'm not much for anything past that." As she extended a hand for the girl to shake, she realized that the stitched boy from earlier had approached. Given his size, he was probably helpful, and he didn't seem like he would be up to no good... "You, too! Wanna form a team with me and her for this exam? I can carry as many badges as you need!"
  21. "2 Mend staves, 2 vulneraries, and a Shade tome... I think that's everything, right, Layne?" Ada counted the objects she was holding again, making sure that it was all in tact as they walked out of the shop. She had hoped that this mission would have given her more funds towards her robes, but... here she was helping Layne, payment for how she performed in the last battle. The myrmidon-looking shaman walked down the street with her staff-wielding companion, making sure to stick to the shade as much as possible. Even after the time she had spent without her robes, that Aeoran sun was still too much for her. "At least I didn't have to sell this stone, though," the shaman mused as she produced the blue seastone, "I feel like there's something special about it... At least more than 300 golds' worth!" Ada grumbled and ground her teeth as she thought of the shopkeeper trying to get the stone for pennies. She could scarcely buy a vulnerary with what he offered, much less more. Of course, if she had sold it, the duo wouldn't have empty pockets. Anyway, is there anywhere else you wanna go before we head back? We have plenty of daylight left... and maybe we can score some free grub at the inn?" Ada smiled, trying not to let her nervousness show. She had felt awkward around Layne since the trip, what with the trouble she had caused him during it. She could only hope he didn't feel the same.
  22. You are a pretty swell dude. I think you can get wound up even tighter than I can, but you're pretty cool on the whole, and I'm glad to be your friend. soon
  23. I'm just paranoid. Of lots of things. That's all.
  24. I... dunno. I’m pretty open on here, and I think the only things I haven’t told are stuff I wouldn’t ever tell... No matter how much I wrack my brain, I can’t think of anything without a prompt rip
  25. Fiiiine I guess I’ll deliver. You’re a cool dude. I don’t think I’ve ever not gotten along with you, though I assume you might hate me behind my back out of paranoia. But that’s par for my course, and I do like you. You are like... the non-failed version of a little brother type for me. There’s Marcos, but he ended up becoming less of a little brother, and there’s another that was... rocky. i enjoy talking to you, and, like I said, see you like a little brother. You are a sweetheart. I honestly don’t even know. You’re sorta silly, but amongst RP, you feel... less so, maybe even less personally invested in groups or discussions. However, I can tel you’re passionate about your work, and you’re still fun to talk to... I just feel like maybe we don’t click? Idk. You kinda remind me of when I was younger and I thought I knew everything about design. I did know a good amount, but not as much as I thought I did. you have a lot of potential, but don’t get caught up in thinking you’re at the apex, if that applies. Ngl I love you. Platonically, of course, but despite a fairly limited amount of talking time... I feel super safe and comfortable around you. I can open up to you, relate to you, even have fairly deep conversations with you. I’m mostly just sad I didn’t know how close I lived to you in the past ;; i mean we didn’t talk then but shhh See Jesse, but not exactly the same. While I wouldn’t say you give me the same sense of security, I feel a strong sense of relatability and camaraderie with you. I enjoy talking to you, even if it’s not super often, and you’ve been a great person to be in RP with... devin’s death is forever on your hands though ?
