  1. Gonna go with another of my favorite artists, ClariS (if I had to give a top 5, mine are in no particular order probably: BRADIO, ClariS, Earth, Wind & Fire, nano, and Rick Astley). Whether it's Clara with Alice or Clara with Karen, I love how their voices come together in their music. Their songs are so upbeat and make me very happy (or in the case of some of the music they did for Madoka Magica, emotional). And how they've kept their identities secret (having live performances done while wearing masks or behind a screen as silhouettes, album art being of illustrated personas, etc.) is pretty cool. The fact they started in middle school is also super impressive. When Alice originally left the duo in 2014 I was very devastated, I was about 20 at the time but when I learned about it I felt like a teenage girl that just had their favorite boy band break up or something like that. Thankfully Karen formed a new duo with Clara later that year and they've still made very good music that gives the same ClariS feel.
  2. Is Big Brother still entertaining (relative to past seasons I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of people who never found it entertaining)? I haven't watched it in forever and I just randomly thought about it today.

    1. Blake

      Blake

It can be entertaining, but there's a lot of pure toxicity involved at times.

The parts where the producers cheat to help players is also a lot more blatant than in the past, especially if you watch the livestreams/follow the subreddit.

I don't care about it, and this will be the first season in a while I totally skip, despite it being a family deal.

    2. The Chayncemaniac

      The Chayncemaniac

This season was alright... until the racism ran rampant once the feeds went live. I'm just watching it, not really getting into it like I have in past seasons

  3. Ooh, perfect timing for this, then. I just love BRADIO's style, both musically and aesthetically. The different flashy suits they wear in their videos as well as Shingyoji's afro are very fun. Their music is so groovy, and if I were to give any sort of comparison I find them almost like a Japanese Earth, Wind & Fire which is a band I've been listening to ever since I was a kid.
  4. Random question, you guys ever had banana sauce (basically Filipino ketchup)? It's really good, and I grew up on the stuff, but I dunno how popular it is to non-Filipinos.

Can't say I have, but that sounds interesting.

  5. Danny Phantom's OP is as catchy as ever and I've never forgotten the lyrics these past 15 years, but man I love the X-Men OP so much. It's just so dramatic and powerful, and I still find it getting stuck in my head every once in awhile.
  6. The current raid event in Dragalia Lost has ash drops on the boss battle and honey drops on the raid battle, allowing for legit infinite grinding. So that's nice.

Sounds very similar to Blazon Summons in the DL raid events. You get Blazons from the boss/raid battle to pull items from a box that you can reset once you empty it (or for the first 4 boxes, once you pull the copy of the free Dragon for the event), but the box itself only has things like crafting materials and gold and a handful of equipment items and stuff, no premium currency.

Though there is a special EX version of the raid boss that you can sometimes fight after doing Expert/Nightmare mode which goes away once you beat it until the next time you unlock it, and the reward pool for that has summoning tickets in it, albeit at a pretty rare drop rate. So with infinite grinding you could technically get a ton of summoning tickets, though it's not like it's consistent or anything.

Btw that "first four boxes can be reset on drawing the best item in them" thing is exactly how it works in gbf too, down to the number of boxes. Same for the extra special boss that only sometimes spawns after battles. It doesn't drop tickets but it hasa very small chance to drop 1/30th of a damascus ingot

      Shradow

Same for the EX boss in DL, it can drop Damascus Shards which 10 can be traded for an Ingot, and other similar 1/10th items. I assume GBF has a similar Unbind mechanic for weapons and stuff.

  7. So GOATS has been the meta for so long in Overwatch to the point Blizzard is gonna force a 2-2-2 team setup in the OWL. Glad they're gonna spice things up, and DPS pros will actually be able to do their thing and GOATS is not the most interesting thing to keep seeing for so long.

A team comp setup in Overwatch that's 3 tanks and 3 supports, it's called GOATS because that's the name of the team that popularized it. It's been the meta for a long ass time.

    2. Nyx

      Nyx

Huh. Strange, because most times that I'd play Competitive, the team would usually aim for 2 Tank, 2 Healer, and 2 Damage. We'd only go 3 Tank 3 Healer if we were losing and taking desperate measures.

    3. Shradow

      Shradow

Well I imagine your average comp team doesn't necessarily have the coordination to run GOATS, unless you're a full premade who's practiced it or something. This is specifically a pro league change that the 2-2-2 lock is happening to I'm pretty sure.

  8. Got a profile song of what might be my favorite video game song, yay.

  9. TIL you can learn the Izuna Drop skill in Nioh by getting it as a rare drop from Jin Hayabusa, now I definitely need to go back and finish the DLC.

  10. I really like Touhou music and that was an awesome remix, though the title and lyrics at 2:46 and 6:32 instantly just made me go AYAYAYA. 9/10
  11. I'm voting Bowser as well, and there's not really much I can add that hasn't already been said regarding the two as characters. Bowser's simply way more fun of a character. And you know what else Bowser has that Ganondorf doesn't? Doug Bowser jokes. Well that's one thing about Ganondorf, of the three of them in terms of characters Link and Zelda at least have the advantage of having multiple incarnations to pull from, but there's only ever been 2 Ganondorfs. Four Swords Adventures featured his only actual reincarnation (and even then iirc he obtained his original memories and stuff from his past life so he was practically the same person anyways), while every other game with Ganon/Ganondorf is the same one that started from OoT. Aside from FSA he's either been brought back from the dead or broken out of some magic seal, but almost never reincarnated. Now, Wind Waker has shown us that they can give him more characterization. But unlike Bowser's constant rivalry with Mario, from the perspective of each Link, Ganon/Ganondorf is a new bad guy even though to the player he's the same Ganon/Ganondorf. He's largely just the big bad that's saved for the end of the game and I wish he'd get more time to develop.
  12. Iga's Kickstarter from 2015 has finally borne fruit. I'm just waiting to get my physical copy but it looks really good and reviews have been great as well. People wanted more Metroidvania and that's exactly what they're getting. All the game modes and stuff coming in the future as free DLC will be cool. I'm also really curious about that Child of Light music at the end, is Aurora gonna be the 3rd playable character or something?
  13. Glad to see Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting great reviews, can't wait for my physical copy to ship. ?

And it's been many years but now we finally get to see where the "spiritual sucessor Kickstarter because we don't have the rights to just make another game in the series" trio of Mighty No. 9, Yooka-Laylee, and Bloodstained ended up. MN9 is a bad ~5/10, YL is a pretty okay ~7/10, and Bloodstained is a great ~9/10.

    2. Thar

      Thar

MN9 being the only one of those three that got shafted by an actual sequel afterwards.

    3. Shradow

I mean, it's not like MN9 didn't already invalidate itself on its own merit beforehand.

  14. While I'm not bothered personally by this whole controversy about transferring Pokemon, one frustration I've see voiced that I can understand is that while updating all the Pokemon would certainly be a huge undertaking, if anyone can do it it's Game Freak and they're just choosing not to. Pokemon is literally the highest grossing media franchise in existence, it's not like they don't have the money or resources that would be necessary to pull it off. In general it has a lot to do with the sentiment that Game Freak just plays Pokemon far too safe since the series just prints money regardless.
  15. Yangus' voice in DQVIII is the best.

  17. One thing I really loved about E3 was the crowd of Bethesda's conference. The conference itself was largely just a bunch of nothing (except for DOOM, as well as Ghostwire Tokyo, bless Ikumi Nakamura) but the crowd had me laughing so much. There was that group of people (who were obviously paid to be there or planted Bethesda employees or something) up in front who kept standing up and cheering while no one else was nearly that excited, and shouting at the top of their lungs every other second. They were so over the top they kept interrupting the speakers to the point they looked irritated about it. One of my favorite shots of the crowd had this zoom in on a few people and one of the women there just clearly did not want to be there. Frowning, arms crossed, and when she noticed the camera on her she rolled her eyes and gave the laziest clap I've ever seen while still being clearly not happy. It was great.
  18. There's a revival of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? with John Cena as the host, wtf?

      Amazing.

  19. One game I just learned was at E3 is Darksiders Genesis, a top-down Diablo-style game that's a prequel spin-off featuring Strife and War. From the demo gameplay I've seen it looks pretty sick.
