  1. The inside of the temple was surprisingly bare, but the design was just as beautiful as the outside had been. Noticing how empty it was, he was sad to always realize that Dia wasn't worshipped as much as the other deities of the realm. It made him sad, but that's why he was here! He wanted to spread her influence in the shape of water! Finn looked around every which way, waving at the acolytes that were scattered about, only to receive strange looks in kind. They must have never seen a watchdog his age. He was quite used to the fact that he was truly an oddity amongst already odd bunch that were the watchdogs. It never deterred him or his demeanor, so he kept pace behind Levanna. He would've rushed ahead long ago, “I think --” Finally speaking again, she kept her voice low “-- there’s a path behind that altar that leads to a little pool and the mother of pearl stone if you would like to commune there,” she said. “I will be right out here if you need me for anything.” "Thanks Levanna!" Finn smiled, stepping beside her and bowing his head to the woman. "I'll let Dia know that you're keeping her Temple tidy! She'll probably be a little upset about the no ocean thing though!" Knocking on his head, Finn stuck his tongue out playfully. "I'm sure I'll take most of the punishment though." Finn turned on his heel, and headed for the path behind the alter that Levanna had pointed out. Walking through the temple, finally free from watchful eyes, he picked up some speed. At the end of the path, he finally saw something shimmering. The clear and beautiful refraction of light that only water could produce! In the center of the pool was the Mother of all Pearls on a pedestal. He skipped towards the pool, opting to strip down to his last layer of clothing, a bathing suit with flowers haphazardly printed on the blue surface. He cannon-balled into the pool, only to have the familiar sensation of a hand grabbing his wrist. "Seriously? Every time with you!" The small deity chastised him. "I have anointed this as holy water, and yet you still dive ass-first into it!?" Finn rubbed the back of his head with a huge smile on his face. "Oh come on! Don't act like it isn't a cool entrance!" He was clobbered on the forehead with a chop from Dia. That would probably bruise. "So," The goddess' mood reflected in her lightened tone, as she looked to the side, "What have you to report?" "Well," Finn began, taking Dia's hand into his, "I arrived in Galatea, obviously, and I met Taros' and Hinder's watchdogs! They seem really nice! I wouldn't mind travelling with them, but we probably have differing priorities in our duties. I also tried to get Galatea's leader to go for your idea, but she opted out of our offer...so there won't be an ocean on this island either." Finn sighed. "I'm sorry Dia...I just want you to be taken seriously as a Goddess that's more revered than you are now." Another swift chop to the forehead concluded his damp mood. "Hey!? What was that for?" "You obviously weren't trying hard enough to convince her is all!" Dia snapped. "Why don't you just skip the convincing and just drop my tear somewhere?" Finn clutched her hand tightly. "I don't want them to see you as a monster, Dia...I want them to see your beauty first hand, unclouded by fear or judgement...just like I did!" Finn said with a cheesy grin. It prompted the Goddess to stew in anger for a bit, before pouting to the side. "Hmph. A proper response from my watchdog." She touted. "Oh! There was something I wanted to ask you, for once!" Finn spoke with enthused curiosity. "They told me a watchdog made this pool...one of your old watchdogs! I thought I was your first since I haven't met any others....what were they like?" He prodded the deity.
  2. Juri looked at the light leaking into the cabins from topside of the Aegis, wondering if he was even able to get a sunburn here in the Digital World. Even if he was immune to the digital sun's radiation, the heat was for sure like it was in the real world...except it was worse. They had found themselves washed upon the shore of some desert, with no wind on the sea to help sail them towards their destination. Where were they even heading anyways? He faintly remembered their mission in all of this, being dragged so abruptly into this world by his 'partner'. He looked to his newfound device, and then to the large beast-man digimon who sat in the corner. The guy hadn't taken his eyes off of Juri since they had gotten on the ship, watching the boy like a fox stalking his prey. The digimon seemed to scrunch it's eyes in on Juri, prompting the boy to look away in a hurry. "Jeez...you could at least not scowl you know?!" Juri grumped. "This is just my regular look. Deal with it. I just hate the smell of weakness is all...and you're drenched in the damn stuff." The digimon grunted, not taking it's eyes off of him. With a sigh, Juri began to fan himself off. His long hair had since been put into a bun, ever since the washed ashore. He was reminded that more people had been sent out on this mission as well, more people from his world. He hadn't really taken the time to introduce himself fully though, and the thick air of awkwardness still hung between all of them. That's when he noticed one of the crew descend into the ship, pausing briefly before waving gently at Juri. A little dumbfounded at the coincidence, Juri began to wave back, before the digimon in the corner put himself directly between the two. "You got business with my partner? Or you got some kinda ulterior motive here?" the beast-man hounded the girl. "Calm down Grudge...she's just being friendly." Juri placed a hand on the digimon's back. "Tch. No one's friendly for no reason. Spill it, punk!" "That's enough Grudge. Now go back and sit in the corner." Grudge looked back towards Juri, with his eyes filled with strong emotion. "You can keep an eye on me. And if she tries to make a move on my life, you can do what you want with her, deal?" Grudge looked to Juri, and back towards the girl, and then huffed. "Fine." Grudge agreed, begrudgingly. He did just as Juri said and plopped himself back into the corner, leaning his back against it and propping his leg onto his knee. Juri gave him a thumbs up, before standing up and greeting the girl with a wave and a smile. "Sorry about that. I think he's just overly protective! My name's Juri Jackson. What's yours?"
  3. Team ThunderWaves Flying through the air was enough to make Taiga gag, but she needed to focus. Right now she was on a crash course with the Raichu, the two of them descending in a spiral motion. Taiga closed her eyes, and took a bite out of the girl's arm, as she was tossed to the side. She made a hard tumble, but it was better than being in the air. She gathered herself, standing in the midst of all the poles, dusting herself off as she watched the Raichu try his best to do something against their opponent. Veronica was fast, but Taiga could feel her speed start to soar as well. It was a feeling that she hadn't been used to in a while, but it was all the more sweet to feel her blood pumping faster and faster. Her heart was beating faster as well too. This was surely a fun fight. But what was she supposed to do against the bat? She wasn't even remotely fast enough, and she wouldn't be able to drag out this fight long enough to get to a comparable speed. "Aw whatever!" Taiga groaned, as she started to run around the poles in a blinding display of speed. Once she thought her momentum was enough, she leapt towards one of Veronica's poles, leaping onto the rounded side with the bottom of her feet. There, she sprang out into the air between the poles, catching the side of another. She repeated the process ad nauseam until she was merely a blur. The attack that Veronica had thrown out at her whizzed by her face, but it was easily dodged with how quickly Taiga was moving now. With crazy acceleration on her side, she jumped out again. She locked her hands together, and brought down her clamped fists on Veronica's skull with a sledgehammer-like motion. Veronica's head had moved to the side, but Taiga's fists had crashed down on her collarbone. She shot down towards the ground like a rocket. As Taiga descended, a huge jet of water erupted from her feet, crushing the already earthbound Veronica into the ground. Taiga didn't let up, as the water came roaring from below her. The torrent might have been enough to keep the bitch preoccupied for a moment, as Taiga took a knee on top of her waterfall. That Thunderbolt from earlier still seemed to be running through her, as she laughed. "Fufufufu...weaker than Isole's that's for sure..."
  4. “Well, outside the Temple Square and perhaps Tavern street, we do have a natural spring we get our water from. A Dia watchdog long ago came and blessed it so we would never run out. So no, I don’t think we need an ocean. I appreciate the thought, however. And people do find it tranquil." The fact that Dia had another watchdog sometime ago...it was kind of a shocker. Conceited as the thought may have been, Finn thought himself the first Watchdog. He'd have to ask Dia what they were like. "Would that interest you? Or perhaps you’d rather the excitement of the theater? We have a rather exciting amphitheatre that maybe you would be interested in visiting sometime. And, ah, no,” she gestured at Finn to indicate the other inquiry he’d had. “Aiden is not a watchdog, merely a priest for Lar.” Finn nodded in understanding. “Alright, Well, I imagine you’ll want to see the Temple Square, then, seeing as you’re so anxious about its goings-on. I think, ah, Finn, you said you were interested in visiting Dia’s temple at some point today as well? We could all go together and then after that, we’ll see about your temple, how does that sound?” Finn shook his head up and down with excitement, threading his fingers together and holding them up against his smiling mouth. "That sounds great! I can't wait!" Hehe, that rhymed~! “You can leave your teacups on the tray if you like. I’ll make sure someone cleans them up for you,” and, when she reached the door, “After me, please.” Finn did just that, hopping to his feet and prancing right behind their guide. "I can't wait for you guys to meet Dia! She's really cool, and so pretty!" “Ah, normally there wouldn’t be this much peace and quiet, but surely you can appreciate it, no? Dia’s temple is right over there.” Levanna gestured at a large building with an exterior the color of the sea. Finn's eyes were glowing at the sight of it. “You know, here’s a fun fact you might not know. Inside is one of the last remaining Mother of Pearl stones in all of Naviim.” Finn's adoration was interrupted by a complete storm of chaos erupting from where Levanna said nothing of importance was going on. Incidentally, that had not turned out to be the case. “Pay them no mind.” The request was pretty much impossible, but Finn somehow managed to keep his eyes away from the whole ordeal. “Please, could you contain this rabble for me?” Levanna asked here guards, “See, it’s all under control. Shall we visit Dia now?” Finn was about to agree before he heard someone else speak up. Kitt was now moving away from the group and towards the temple of Taros. "Taros, grant me strength for what I'm about to do...and possibly get ready to see a show..." Finn reached out to stop him, but he knew how Kitt must have been feeling at the site of such desecration. "Well. This will be entertaining. So, Finn," Olivander spoke quickly. "You wanna go pray or watch the street brawl?" "Uhh...I don't really like fightin' that much brah..." Finn said rubbing the back of his head. "Dia's probably waiting on an update from me too...It's been a couple of days since I last talked to her, so I better head to the temple and see her!" He said following close behind Levanna.
  5. Team ThunderWaves Her attack was dodged, gracefully, as the Crobat descended onto one of the wooden pillars that littered the room. She decided to try and do the same as she descended after her surfboard assault, only to slip on the top of the pillar and fall back to the ground on her back. It knocked the wind out of her, but she was familiar to the feeling by now. She grit her teeth and sat up, annoyed at the display of elegance in such a situation. The Raichu seemed to lose his cool at Veronica's words, and seemed to be disoriented. In the blink of an eye, he was hit with an extremely quick attack from the Godslayer. He looked to the Rotom, unsure of his emotions. He probably wasn't the one who liked to fight. "Great." Taiga scoffed. She looked over to Veronica, standing high and mighty over them on her pillar. "I'll offer you the same thing I did for Taiga. If you want to leave, I won't stop you. As you've seen just now, I'm much stronger than I look. And I'm gracious enough to let you go if you don't want to fight." "I appreciate the gesture, but..." He fired off a Thunderbolt towards her. "I've been through too much to give up now!" "Couldn't have said it much better myself, kid!" Taiga grinned. She looked towards the Raichu, who still seemed to be dumbfounded. "We're all dead here if you don't decide to grow a spine! We just have to beat her, got it?!" Taiga roared towards the boy. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Veronica whip up a strong wind from behind her, launching herself at their resident Rotom. "I don't think so!" Would she be fast enough to intercept the godslayer? There was no way...but she had to try. However, before she could even get her running start, a ball of electricity swooped across the field, interrupting the Crobat's assault. "Huh...decided to fight after all, eh?" Taiga smirked. The girl stood upon one of her pillars again. Those things were really starting to piss her off. Looking at the unoccupied ones, she got a rather swell idea. Instead of taking off at the Crobat, she brought out her fangs, drenching them in dark energy. She bolted off towards the nearest pillar, sinking her teeth into them. It was straining, but she was able to rip the column in half, with a helpful boost of water from under her feet. She gathered herself again and repeated the process two more times. This would limit that wannabe-bird's mobility, and in this situation that's really all they could do. Taiga looked to the fight again, spitting out some splinters. She could feel killer intent lay eyes on her, as Veronica swooped in with a pair of fangs ready to bite. "OH YOU THINK YOU CAN BITE ME HUH!? YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THAT!" Taiga grimaced, materializing her own pair of dark spectral fangs. She dashed in, clashing the fangs against one another. Veronica, boosted by her tailwind, seemed to be pushing back Taiga, who had water gushing out of the back of her heel. She wasn't strong enough to hold the girl's jaws back on her own, that was for sure. As a desperate gambit, She stuck her arm through the gap between the clashing rows of teeth to grab a hold of Veronica herself. "Can't get away now, huh? Where you gonna go now, huh?! FUFUFUFUFU!" Taiga snickered, as she put as tight a hold on the Gijinka as possible. She looked at the other two, only to bark like mad at them. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITIN' FOR?! HIT HER WITH EVERYTHING YA' GOT!"
  6. "Dia, the goddess of water and purity? Well, that would definitely explain the interesting attire as well as the greeting there." The other watchdog chimed. "My acquaintance there, Olive, already heard me introduce myself earlier, but allow me to reiterate it for you, Finn." he smiled, before bowing slightly himself. "I'm Kitt Axton, Watchdog to the Great Forge Maker himself, Taros. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Finn's eyes lit up, and his mouth hung open. "Wow! So you can make like...metal things and stuff?! That's so cool!" He scratched the back of his head with an innocent smile. "All I can do is fish, really! I'm happy to have met Taros' Watchdog!" “I do apologize,” Levanna said as she returned to the office room. “In fact, I’m afraid I owe you a three-fold apology. The first is for the interruption. Aiden is a marvelous priest, and he really cares about those who worship with him, but he can get ahead of himself sometimes. The second, though I may have apologized for this already, is being late with the tea. I don’t have anything exotic to offer, either, just some herbs found here on Galatea, but maybe that’s exactly what you were looking for all along. "There's nothing to apologize for!" Finn giggled. He looked at the cup of tea that was placed before him with a blank expression. As the surface of it rattled, he couldn't help but wince at it. All Tea was was impure water. Dia would get mad at him if he were to partake...but she'd have been mad at him for something else if not this. Finn picked up the cup and gave the drink a light sip. It was bitter, but strangely delicious. He stuck his tongue out at it after the fact. "Is that man....Aiden right?...Is he a watchdog too? He seemed rather rude." His tone was pout-like. “The last apology I have to make is concerning the faulty scheduling. I’m afraid the temple to Taros is currently occupied with another matter, and the offering ceremony must be postponed. It truly is a tragedy, and on such short notice too! What else can I do but apologize?” "Geez...sorry about that Kitt." Finn said, taking another sip of tea, and then sticking his tongue out again. "I'm sure it'll open up soon enough! You should introduce me to Taros!!" “Well, it wouldn’t be much, but I suppose I could try to answer any questions you might have about our humble island? If this is your first time here you must have many, I assume? Or perhaps you would like to visit the temples yourselves? I’m sure I could arrange for an escort if you so desire.” Kitt asked his own question, prompting a rather suspicious response from their host. Even though Finn was young, he knew something sneaky was up. He wasn't a watchdog for nothing after all. Finn looked to Kitt and rolled his eyes in doubt, making sure to place a hand over the side of his face as to not show this display to Levanna. After Kitt had one of his questions answered, Finn decided to ask his own. "Would Galatea like it's own ocean!?" The boy asked with a wide grin.
  7. "One, two, Ocean's so blue~," A boy in a large overcoat sang to himself, kicking his feet into the air as he sat on one of the large couches of the room he had found himself in. He had been escorted to this building as soon as he had ran off the zeppelin to Galatea, and he had been waiting here ever since. Something about needing to wait for more people, or something like that. Whatever the reason was, he was sure it wouldn't be an excuse that Dia would take to heart. He'd for sure be scolded instead of visiting the temple to commune with her. "Three, four, better row the oar~," he continued before switching his position on the couch so that he lay flat on his back. This ceiling was way more boring to stare at then a starry night sky on the ocean's tide. "Five, six-" He was interrupted by the doors of the office being swung open. The lady who had introduced herself as Levanna when he arrived had entered the office once more, tailed by a couple of others. They all looked...unique in their own right. Could they be-? “Here he is,” She must have been referring to him. He gave the others a smile upon the greeting. “A little on the young side, I’m sure, but you all are on the young side when you get to be my age. I can get you some tea while you introduce yourselves, maybe some biscuits too. Do you have a preference?” Another knock on the door, and someone else entered the room. By Levanna's expression, she wasn't too thrilled about the man barging in. “How kind of you to join us, Aiden, what-” “Spare me,” The man bluntly stated. The disrespect that the man showed Levanna was a bit excessive, but the boy sat there without blinking an eye. “We need to talk. It can either be in front of these dogs or not but we do have to talk. Simon is-” “Zzt!” The woman stopped the man's talking in it's tracks, as she turned to the rest of them and smiled. “Well, the tea and biscuits might be a bit late,” she said. “But do feel free to introduce yourselves still! I’ll be right outside if you need anything else.” As they left the room, the youngest among them came to the realization that these other people were also watchdogs! He hadn't met one in quite some time, but his curiosity has certainly peaked. "Olive," The darker skinned dog said to no one. "My name's Olive. I'm the watchdog for Hinder. But, we can court one another later. Don't mind me, lads," He pressed his ear up against the door, prompting the boy to laugh. "I wouldn't expect any less from hinder's watchdog!" He cleared his throat, trying to make his voice just as deep as Oliver's. "My name's Finn! Finn Flanagan! I'm my goddess', Dia's, watchdog!" The boy placed a fist over his heart, and bowed to the both of them. "It's a pleasure to meet you all! Aloha!" Finn looked at the last to introduce themselves, smiling and shifting the balance of his weight forwards and back. "The world sure is big, huh? This is my first time visiting Galatea! Let's make sure to drop by the temple later, yeah?"
  8. Juryo made his way to the back of the store, noting all the other appliances he had walked past. DVD players, toaster, microwaves....yup this definitely was an electronics store. However, the three of them seemed to be the only ones doing any shopping around here today. Looking at some small copy machines, he wondered how much merchandise that was sold here overlapped with the office supplies store. He shrugged at the thought. It didn't really matter. He didn't believe that the office store had any Microwaves just lying around. He took a look at one such Microwave. There was nothing fancy about it in the slightest, but looking towards the back he noticed that the cables seemed to be a little frayed. It wasn't plugged in, so how could it have been put through such rough use already? "Must be used...Is this a second hand electronic shop?" He looked for a price tag, noticing that there was none. "Huh." Well, he'd leave the choice of Microwave to the girls. He was already on a mission. After a while, he managed to find himself in the back of the store, with the large printers standing against a wall. He walked up to them, noticing that these didn't have a price tag either. "Geez...are they free or what?" Juryo propped himself up on a shelf, noticing that there were no employees in sight. He sighed. Luckily, next to the printers was a door that was labeled 'Employees Only'. It couldn't help to knock on the door. He did just that, putting his ear up against the door. He heard a muffled screaming, and the rummaging of metal. Instinct kicked in, Juryo's quirk activating to make the door as light as possible, and his body a little heavier. He rammed into the door, breaking it off his hinges. There, in the corner of the room, he saw a bald man with a gag in his mouth. Across from his way a boy, roughly his age, hunched over a small LED t.v., with the plug in his mouth. Juryo winced...what a pain this trip had turned into. The teen stared at him, watching Juryo struggle with a decision he couldn't make. The teen stood up, and spit the plug out of his mouth. "Yo!" He casually greeted Juryo, while he had a hostage in a corner. "I can explain this, I swear!" He smiled, placing his hands up and against his chest. "Get to it." Juryo groaned. He wasn't a licensed hero, so anything he was planning on doing would most likely be illegal. It'd land him in jail. But still...he couldn't just let this go. "You seeeee, I can't eat normal food! Only electricity, you see?! My parents kicked me out cuz I raised their bills so damn high! Ridiculous, ain't it! It ain't my fault I was born like this, right bro?!" Juryo had heard a sob story once or two in his time as a vigilante, but he could at least sympathize with someone like this. "That doesn't give you the right to do something like this. Turn yourself in...I'm sure the government can help yo-" "SCREW THAT, ALRIGHT! I AIN'T GIVIN' THEM MORE THAN WHAT THEY'VE TAKEN FROM ME!" The boy looked to his uniform, noticing a symbol. His eyes rattled, at the realization. "Hairo, huh? I got the same letter...so you just signed your life away then, huh?" The boy gripped his head. "They sent you here after me...didn't they?!" The boy's skin began to glow bright, as his entire being became that of electricity. Not a single distinguishing physical feature was left, but only that of a beam of light. It walked towards him, still able to talk. "Well...I ain't gonna let you! Bring it on, lackey!" The energy being bolted towards him, ramming into Juryo's chest and flinging him towards the front of the store. The impact shook him, but he was conscious enough of the situation to see Kiburi and Nanami. "We've got a situation..." He grumbled. “Don’t cry Miyu-san! I’m sorry you had to put yourself in danger for this!” Yu replied, fighting back his own growing despair as he bowed towards Miyu. "Danger?" Miyu cocked an eyebrow at Yu, and then looked towards the so called 'Theodore'. "I'm not particularly in fear of my life here. I can take care of myself ya know?" "It may be a chore, but it needs to be done anyway, right? If we do it well now then nobody will have to do it again. Look, if we're quick in doing this and we end up with spare time, we can hit the mall on the road back if you want, ok?" “That’s right Miyu-san, we can do the shopping quickly so you don’t need to be near me for too long! Please bear with me Miyu-san, Midome-san!” Was that a pun? Miyu pouted, turning her head to the side. "Humph! Whatever! But you two better promise to carry my bags back! And I won't take no as an answer!" The thought of whipping their bodies as they trudged back to campus sent chills of pleasure down her spine. "Let's get this over with as soon as possible then! Chop, chop!" Miyu walked into Job Hutt ahead of the others. Looking around, it was as bland as a office supply store could be. However, there was one thing that stuck out in her mind. The fact that large, proportional cutouts of scantily clad women littered the store, each holding different office supplies in their hands or between their-WHAT KIND OF ADVERTISING WAS THIS!? "This store owner needs divine punishment." Miyu growled, as she headed towards the front desk. "Can I leave the list to you boys for a bit? I have a complaint to register." Walking up to the customer service desk, Miyu noticed a businesswoman. She must've been here for the same thing as her! Miyu patiently waited behind her, happy to eavesdrop on their conversation. Throughout the grocery store, a woman's shill screaming could be heard. Everyone who looked in that direction would see an extremely large woman rummaging through a family's shopping cart. She took no time devouring all the food in large gulps and swallows. She harbored a massive pair of jaws that she hid underneath a spiked mask. However, her hunger was seemingly not quelled from all the food she just ate. "Hero! Are there any heroes here?!" An employee could be heard shouting. "Heh!" The towering girl could be heard laughing. "I've beat up most heroes who patrol around here! Don't think anyone's comin' to save your store! I'm one hungry girl, and nothin' can stop my feedin' frenzy!!!!!"
  9. Premise On December 31st, 1999, the night sky was lit up with the largest moon ever recorded in human history. Once the clock struck midnight, the moon instantly turned a blood red. Scientists' minds were boggled, but nobody panicked. They thought of the event nothing more than a sick way to cap off the last year of the century, and went about their partying. Little did the masses know, that something dark and terrible infested the world that night. At the turn of the millennia, monsters of the night infested our world. Where they came from, no one knows, but they spread among the populace like a plague. That same night, a once thought extinct group sensed the presence of evil. These were the remnants of the Demon Slayer Corps. Ages ago, they had rid the world of the demon menace, but they were once again flung into the dark underworld of monster slaying. The year is now 2004. You are one of these members of the Demon Slayers, whether by choice or by circumstance. Your job? Protect the innocent and ignorant, and rid the world of this rising evil!
  10. Team ThunderWaves Taiga's foot tapped fiercely, her arms crossed as she watched for Scarlet to make her way. She must've missed her with all the commotion going on around them, but the girl finally made it to the platform. She waved her arm weakly through the air, smiling at Taiga. "Told... told ya... I'd make it..." She laughed. Taiga shook her head. "Slowpoke." She shot her face to the side, only to slug the Gijinka in the shoulder. The metal clang of her fist meeting armor rang through the air. Taiga winced, but wore a toothy grin. "I'm just glad ya ain't dead yet. We still got a job to do, right?" The rails on the platform began to raise, as they began to descend into the depths of the island. Taiga began to shudder. Whatever was down here was making her skin crawl to no end. "Well...the easy part's done huh?" Just as the platform stopped, they could see a single path. A door lit up with a bright light. Taiga took a deep breath. She was the first to walk up to the door, her hands tucked into the creases of her back. "Sheesh...I'll see you on the other side then, alright Chrome Dome!" Stepping through, she was met with a room with strange wooden poles sticking out of the ground. Beside her was that strange Raichu from before, and another Gijinka that resembled Isole to some degree...although this was totally a guy. No one else arrived behind them, so she assumed the worst. "They split us up huh?" She eyed her two mismatched teammates up and down, only to sigh. "Ya'll think you can keep up? I ain't got time to babysit, so I'm gonna need you to handle your business appropriately." She winked at both of them. "And don't go thinkin' my services are gonna be free either. You owe me after this one, got it!?" Walking further up, she heard a familiar voice, arguing with a smaller one. “You’re right I DON’T understand, Veronica! Why are you with them still? Can’t you see what they’re doing is bad? Betty wouldn’t want this...” “Yeah well we can’t ask her can we? They’re more dangerous than we are and if you can’t see that...” Her demeanor and stance changed once she saw the group of Gijinka before her. Her defensiveness only made Taiga smirk. “What’s...Ah!” The small girl managed to get out, before Veronica chopped her in the back of the neck. The girl fell unconscious, as she grabbed her and pulled her back before stepping towards the group. Her expression was somewhat flustered but when she spoke it was with a dismissive attitude. “So you made it here after all. It’s a shame that commoners like you ended up having to face me. You’re basically out of time already. Soon we’ll have a world free from the grip of so-called Legendaries. And I am not about to let you ruin that.” "You sure love to hear yourself talk, don'tcha?" Taiga said, pressing her fists against her hips. "You aren't gonna be able to run away this time, so you might as well give up!" At the same time, in the back of her head. Didn't they have help trying to beat down this batty bitch last time? A bead of sweat dripped down her cheek at the realization. They needed the help of a rampaging Zygarde to best her...and even then it was a stalemate. She crossed her arms defiantly. "You better give up now...your friend might get swept up in all this." "What?! Excuse you, I do not talk to myself! I was talking to you three, but I suppose that was a lost cause to begin with, especially with you here," the woman harrumphed. "And Yuffie is not my friend! I told you this before, but she's nothing more than an annoyance." A bitter expression crossed her face. "Just like you, she's a plebeian who cannot comprehend our lofty goals. We are doing this for the good of Adarid, and because of that, I will not give up!" "Well...I guess giving you an out of this situation was beyond pointless, huh? Fufu." Taiga assumed her starting position, placing both hands on the ground, one foot outstretched behind her while the other was tucked into her chest. "You sure you wanna do this? I definitely remember how strong you were...I can't forget your stupid face." Nervous sweat still dripped from her brow, but she wore a huge smile. "But..." She looked the Crobat dead in the eye, "I'm not the same as I was last time." "Of course it was pointless! You're the ones who need an out after all, not me." The woman scoffed. "I doubt you'd have grown enough that I can't handle you. You had Zygarde before, but unless these two next to you are secretly legendaries, you don't need to worry about me." She tossed her head arrogantly. "You should worry about yourselves instead! If you want to turn around now and go back home, I won't stop you. I'd rather avoid needless bloodshed, if possible." "I don't wanna have to kill you either..." Taiga mumbled. "That girl there really seems to admire you...And she wouldn't do that if there was still some good in you, right?" Taiga laughed. "I must be goin' soft...but then again..." Taiga dashed off, doing a short hop to land on a waterboard that appeared beneath her feet, "I won't be goin' easy just cause some bird brain digs ya, ya dig!? FUFUFUFU!" Taiga ollied into the sky, taking the board and throwing it at the bat with a wicked smile. "Catch!" She turned her head to the others. "Wanna join in, or you got cold feet?!"
  11. Team Showdown Her goal was just in sight, as she slid across the sand on her waterboard. As she zipped through the army of Gijinka, she made sure to trip up as many of the bug bots as she could manage, as they fell over like clanging dominoes, one after the other. With random parts of this robo army discombobulated, they'd be easier for the other legends and fighters to take out. She could see the other side of the army in front of her, as she smiled. She sped up her boarding in an attempt to break the back line, but was met with a metallic clothesline to the gut. In all of her excitement to get to the real fight, she hadn't realized that she had garnered more attention than she perhaps wanted. The water beneath her feet stopped and shot out in front of her, as she fell flat on her back. "Get your breath back..." She thought to herself as her teeth grit. One of the Gijinka made a move, stepping on her wrist, while another mirrored it stepping on the other. She could hear the shifting of the army, as multiple of these lifeless dolls shambled towards her, piling one on top of the other. It must've been ten or more of them until they finally realized it would've been overkill. She struggled, chomping at any piece of metal that was close to her face, but their combined weight pinning her down was really making it hard for the girl to even think, let alone move. Taiga's eyes widened in terror, as each and everyone of the Gijinka on top of her began to glow and smoke. She could feel an energy well up inside of her...but if she used it now...would she have the strength to fight on? Or would she just be a hindrance to Scarlet and Isole? "Geez...if I'm really this pathetic...fufu..." She laughed solemnly, as visions of her friends winning the day raced through her mind. "They don't need me anyway..." A high pitched whirring sound started to emanate from the golems surrounding her. Just as she was about to give up, she felt the ground beneath her rumble and tear apart. In an instant, there was nothing beneath her anymore. She was free falling through a giant hole, the Gijinaks grip on her loosening as they fell away with her. Suddenly, she felt a firm grip grab her wrist once more. She looked below her, watching as the ball of metal exploded. Her head turned up to the sky, seeing Landorus was the one who had just saved her life. "I figured you'd be eager to fight but you need to be alive to do that you know. I still want to see what Gijinka these days are capable of." Taiga looked away from the legend to wipe something from her eye, only to look back with a sharp smile. "Just you watch old timer! I'll make sure these Godslayers know what real Terror is!" "Ha! I'm sure you will." He looked across the field. "But we still need to break through for you to get that chance. So, need me to lead the way or are you and your people ready to set out ahead of us old folk?" "Just throw me, would ya? You got enough strength for that?" The Legend floated in silence for a moment, before bursting into laughter. "You kids come up with the craziest ideas. Yeah, I think I can manage that. Hope I don't overshoot ya." His muscles began to bulge and an aura surrounded his arms as he spun Taiga in a circle before releasing her. "Don't know how you plan on landing but hope it's softer than it looks!" "Thanks, ya old coot! Don't you go kickin' the bucket on me before we get a chance to arm wrestle!" Taiga waved to the man as she flew through the air. Timing her landing as well as possible, she stuck out her foot. A massive jet of water erupted from the bottom of her feet in a giant pillar. She dove into the erected torrent, landing her butt softly on the ground. The water around her flushed away, and before her was a raised, metallic platform. On that platform was a myriad of Gijinka she had never seen before. A lot of them looked incredibly young. She sneered as she walked up to the middle. Looking around, there were no signs of either Scarlet or Isole. She got a little nervous, but she made sure not to give off that vibe. "Well...you lot sure are lucky you made it this far. I don't know any of your names, but you gotta be worth somethin' as fighter, right? Fufufu." Taiga blew the weird lookin' Raichu a kiss. "Just watch your backs and make sure not to get us all killed, 'kay?"
  12. "Alright everyone, one at a time!" Mr. Arai waved each group to come up, handing them their lists and credit cards. "Now don't go losing those cards, alright! We'll be in big trouble if they get into the wrong hands." He waved them off with a smile. "I don't care if there are some extra charges on them, but don't go too overboard, alright?" Each group of students would then head to different corners of the city, begrudgingly, to do as their teacher told them, lest they be hunted down like dogs. Walking into Sheev's Electronics, Juryo could see that this place was almost just as run down as their Academy. Half of the store shelves were stocked, and half of the appliances seemed broken or cracked. The lights above them sporadically flickered, as if this places generator was on it's last legs. He looked at the list of items to get, and then back to Kiburi and Nanami. He pinched the bridge of his nose, and gave a heaping sigh. "Does this place even have half of the crap on this list?" Juryo handed the list and card over to Kiburi. On the list were items such as batteries, flashlights, microwaves, tube lights, and printers. "Well...I can grab the printers...I can make them really light. Problem is that I'll be really heavy for a bit, so this might take longer than expected." He laughed. "It'll be some intense training, that's for sure!" As he laughed, the lights went dim for a couple of seconds, turning on again to illuminate his confused expression. "Geez...this place needs all the business it can get, huh? Let's get out of here as fast as possible." Juryo nodded to the others and pointed to the back of the store. "I bet some printers are back there, so I'll be right back. You girls get the rest of the stuff on the list, alright?" "You have reached your destination." Miyu's phone rang out, as she directed it to the store in front of her. It looked as bland as could be. 'Job Hutt' was the name of the store, as her head slumped to the side. This was totally not what she had in mind when she thought of school activities. She just wanted to start over and have fun, not pick up some lazy teacher's office supplies. It was enough to bring a tear to her eye, as she looked back at her teammates. Her eyes started welling up immediately, as she hiccuped. "Can't you guys do this alone? There's a shopping mall so close by...and I can totally pick up a new outfit with this card!"
  13. Team Showdown - S.S. Showdown Taiga could feel a familiar cold weight lay on her shoulder, as her head turned to greet Scarlet. She had noticed that Isole had also made the trip in time. Funny how the small ice girl landed exactly where she had started her journey. Honestly, a part of Taiga wished the girl had stayed back. However, she couldn't help but grin at her display of guts. "'Bout time you both showed up. I was about to go back to Skuldafn and drag you by the scruff of yer necks! Fufufufu!" "Ahh, where one of you beauties are the other is always soon to follow." This Captain guy was just as irritating as always. "I figured she would be fine. Even if you ran into trouble she wouldn't have stuck around if she couldn't handle it. Honestly I'm still shocked that she wanted to go along. She has been a bit...harder to get to interact than the rest." He then shook Scarlet's hand and leaned down to give it a kiss. "Thank you for taking care of that girl. She's had a rough time of it. I'll be sure to get all the juicy details of your adventure from her later. You better have been a good influence." He finished with a wink. Taiga slugged the Pidgeot in the shoulder, her jaw clenched in anger. "Hey...you got some nerve doin' that in front of me, ya damn flyin' rat." It didn't take long for Taiga's whole body to react to the fact that they were nearing their final destination. Her skin and scales started to twitch with anticipation. Everything she had done up to this point...could she make it all worth it. Could she actually rid the world of such evil? Was she capable of that? She tightened up her gloves, and pumped her vest. Damn right she was. As they were nearing the shore, she could see a swarm approach. What they were, she hadn't the faintest clue, but she could tell by what her whole body was feeling that they weren't friends. Taiga looked around her at all of these Gijinka who were going to participate in the battle, just to get a good look at their faces just in case she got a little too wild. These were her allies this time around. She didn't know them, but they were like her, right? There sure were a lot of kids in the bunch...were they orphaned? She'd ask them later. Right now, it was time to get her head in the game. Her eyes turned predator-like, as they made landfall. Taiga hopped off the boat and cracked her knuckles. She turned to Scarlet, and with an low rumbling from her throat, she managed to say something. "Don't die. If Isole comes out...she doesn't die either, got it?" She spat into the sand. "Break your promise, and I'll kill you." Some Gijinka had already started to fight among the inhuman creatures before them, but Taiga dug her heels into the sand, pointing beyond the giant army. "My name's Taiga the Terrible! Tyrant of the Tides! You better remember my name, so you can beg for forgiveness!" She proclaimed in a huge roar, before darting off into the battle. The sea of Gijinka, that was her opponent, all looked a like, so it would prove difficult to keep track of them all at once. As she ran, she created a board of water underneath her, gliding around the sand. However, as she gained speed, so too did the board gain volume, until it was a giant wave. She kicked the wave at a group of three of the enemy, sweeping them away with a powerful torrent of water and away from the rest of the army. She followed behind closely, knowing full well that that attack wouldn't be enough to down the foes. After all, they seemed to be artificially constructed by the godslayers themselves. As the wave crashed down into the sand, the three enemies lifted themselves up. One screamed at Taiga, enough to rattle her eardrums to the point of pain, while the other two seemed to gather metal together to form a large ball. "As if I'd let you!" Taiga growled, before darting in, sweeping one of the gijinka off of it's feet, letting the orb of metal it had gathered crash upon itself. It started to spark and smoke before it exploded. Taiga, seeing this before, used the gijinka that had screamed at her before as a shield of sorts. It proved effective, as it shambled to the floor, not even conscious enough to blow up itself. Behind her she could feel the cold impact of steel hit between her shoulder blades. It knocked the wind out of her for a moment, but she turned around. She wiped the spit from her mouth. "Just a bunch of toys, ain't ya?" She laughed, before leaping off the sand again and into the robot, using her shadowy-infused teeth to rip the Gijinka's entire mid section from the rest of it's body. She spat out the abdomen, watching as the Gijinka crawled towards her, in an attempt to explode. "Tch. Disgusting...who told these guys they could up and make Gijinka just for them to die..." She looked at the robot's abdomen lying in the sand before running away from the blast. Could these guys feel pain?
  14. After Hero History, class was dismissed. Juryo sat in his chair while everybody else left the classroom. He closed his eyes, and waited for the shuffling to cease, before opening his eyes again. They tracked over to Keika, who stood alone with his bag slinged over his shoulder. Juryo couldn't help but crack a smile. "Well aren't you sweet?" Juryo did the same, mirroring Keika's pose as closely as possible. "Well, let's head back to our place then." That was certainly a phrase he thought he'd never say to this guy. "I got tons of snacks and stuff, but you gotta arm wrestle for what you want, capiche?!" Juryo had leaned in to emphasize the last word, before straightening himself up again. He turned his heel to start to walk out the door, looking over his shoulder to now in turn wait for Keika. "You comin' or what? I'm pretty bushed, you know?" "It's lovely!" With her new roommates exclamation, Miyu couldn't help but squeak and smile. "It's not the best room, but we're sure making it work," Toshiko smiled, stepping up onto her bed to start attaching the hooks to the ceiling, and hanging up the stars on them. "I've never shared a room with someone or even had a sleepover, so this is exciting! Do you want some stars on your side of the room, too? These seem to be all the ones from my room back home, so they might be pretty densely-packed if I try hanging all of them up just over here." "Yes! Yes! Yes! Gimme those stars!" Miyu jumped up and down, as she took the decorations from the girl and started placing them around her side. Even if the room was pretty janky, she was glad to have a roommate like Toshiko. For once in her life, Miyu was rather excited. The Next Day "Many heroes lost their lives during the Starkiller City event, but a Hero knows what's on the line every time he steps outside his agency. Double Dragon and Hiroki Goto were both saved that day, and the city was placed under a quarantine until all the villains were purged from the streets." Mr. Arai stopped reading to look over the students. "Less than a fraction of villains managed to escape the clutches of justice that day, but we can say for certain that the Ringleader and his most powerful allies were dealt with." Mr. Arai closed the book he held in his hand. "It's almost been a decade since the incident, but I remember playing a very supportive roll that day." He rubbed the nape of his neck, and stretched it from side to side. "I can almost feel all the breaks and bruises I got back then...sheesh." He placed the book on his desk, and clapped his hands together. "Now that our Hero History lesson of the day is over, I have an important announcement." A cheesy grin painted itself on Arai's face. "As you can plainly see, we don't have much staff around here. It's pretty much just me, our resident engineer, and a couple of wardens to keep the place safe. Due to the fact that this school was erected in such a hurry, we're kinda low on supplies." He laughed, as he could hear a couple of confused groans coming from the students. "Look, look, I know it might've been my job to do most of the shopping, but I'm only one guy, so please bear with your teacher." He bowed to them. "This also gives you an opportunity to conduct yourselves in a proper manner outside of school, spread our name around and get people to start noticing your efforts!" He clapped his hands together once more. "Well, let me list off our groups! Toshiko, Akuma, Keika, and Hane will be responsible for the groceries. Kiburi, Nanami, and Juryo will be the ones to grab electronics. And last but not least, Yu, Midome, and Miyu are off to get the office supplies!" "WHAT!? Office supplies!? Are you joking!?" Miyu could be seen standing on top of her desk with one leg, the other in her chair. "This some kinda prank?!" "Think of it like...an assignment! Yeah, that's what this is..." The teacher said the last part to the side and to himself. "And it's not like you're gonna have to pay for any of this anyway. When you get your group together, come up to me and I'll give you your list and a Hairo Academy Credit Card." Mr. Arai smiled tenderly. "And thank you for your help."
  15. "Ah..." Kokoro's face turned bright red. "J-Just, you know... figures. O-Of stuff. I, uh, some of them were pre-assembled, but others I had to put together myself. But th-they're hardly worth showing off! Let alone talking about! A-Anyway, how bout this station, huh? I don't remember it being here before, and everyone else sure is taking their time getting here. Ahahahaha!" The girl stood to her feet and started to walk away. "I'm, um, gonna check this place out. You never know what you might find in some weird train station that wasn't there before, after all!" "Yeah, I think I'll stay here...you never know when the train might show up." Todd looked to the empty tracks that spread in every direction. "I might yell if I hear anything, so keep your ears open, alright." As Kokoro left, Todd kicked his feet that hovered off the side of the steps, as his head fell into his hand. "Well...she's not terrible." Todd shrugged. "Guess we should stick with her for a while. I gotta get my eyes on that figure." "She was actin' kinda weird there at the end, huh?" "I'd be more worried if she wasn't acting weird, given this stupid situation." A little time had passed, and Todd was about to leave the steps once more to go have another look around the station. That's when he heard the familiar whistling of a train. He'd never heard it in real life, but it was unmistakable from all the anime and t.v. he'd watched. He looked down the tracks to see nothing in sight. There wasn't even a smokestack on the horizon. But it was plain to him that the train was close. But if it wasn't on the tracks...where could it be. "Kokoro! Do you hear that?" Todd shouted, trying to use as much of his diaphragm as possible. Next to him, he could see Pix's ears shoot into the sky. "Todd, did you hear that?!" The small rabbit asked, in turn. "No...all I heard was a train." "Well I heard someone say, 'H-help... help me... someone... please...', or somethin' like that." The Lopmon scratched her tiny chin. "If I had to guess, someone's in trouble in this town. We gotta go help them!" Todd sighed once more. He really couldn't be bothered to try and help anyone. Doing good deeds wasn't really his style anyway. But, he was really bored. "Well, it's better than waiting around for the world to end. I'll follow your lead." Todd picked himself up off the steps and laid his hand out in front of him, giving Pix the lead. With a boost to her ego, she puffed out her chest and started to march in the direction of the noise, her ears still perked up. "Follow the leader, Todd! We got some savin' to do!"
  16. "I'm fine with that...rock...paper...scissors." One boy muttered, shaking his fist in the middle to which he immediately began to flip the other three off. Keika gave a slight grin, before shaking his head. "...oops, sorry about that. Guess my hand has a mind of it's own." Juryo couldn't help but crack a smile. If this guy were to be his roommate, he'd remember that. "Very well." With the last one seemingly in agreement, they all put their hands in a big pile. "We throw out on 3, got it?" Juryo ordered. With a nod of all 4 heads, Juryo smiled. "Alright then...1...." Their hands rocked into the air, and back down to meet each other. "....2...." The completed the motion again. "............3!" As the air settled, Juryo saw the aftermath. One scissors, and three rocks. "Looks like we found a first loser!" Juryo laughed. "The rest of you ain't so bad. Great minds think alike, right?" He said before putting on a more serious look. "Again! 1....2....3!" With another fierce flurry of fists, two rocks and a scissor remained. "Well...looks like we have our results." Juryo looked to Keika, and slugged him in the shoulder. "Why'd you go and copy my strat like that, eh?!" Juryo groaned, slugging the boy once more. "That should be enough time. Take your seats." Looking just as pale as before he had left, Mr. Arai walked back into the room with another large figure in tow. The man stood at a staggering 7 feet, and wore a sleek business suit. He walked with a cane, as his right leg seemed stiff and staggering. Fluffy ears protruded from his white hair, as he looked over the classroom with a sharp glance. He and Mr. Arai took to the front of the classroom. "This is Hairo Academies largest benefactor. Without him, this school wouldn't be here, and you would all have likely ended up in prison." Mr. Arai stepped back from his desk to give the floor to the man, who gladly accepted it. Before introducing himself, he bowed. "Good day, Students of Hairo. My name is Zwart Bakker." Loosening the tie around his neck, he smiled. "I was once in your shoes, unable to become a hero because of my past, and who my parents were. However, I changed my course for the better, and now I help the world in different ways. My path has now led to the creation of this school. To give you all a second chance...because I know how desperately you all need that. This world needs Heroes who have backgrounds of all kinds...your views on the world are more important to me than any random hero on the street." He looked to his wrist, uncovering a rather cheap looking watch. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must be off. It was a pleasure to lay eyes on the ones who will be the first to Graduate Hairo. I hope to see you soon." With a nod to Mr. Arai, the man slowly walked out of the room. Mr. Arai walked back up to his desk, and placed both hands on it. "Now, you've all studied Hero History 101, correct. Let's begin our first lesson then shall we." Mr. Arai flipped open a thick textbook in one hand, and started writing on the chalkboard in the other. "It all started when a baby was born shining with a mysterious light." A couple hours of prattling later. "Tomorrow we'll talk more in depth about the Starkiller City incident. But that'll be all for today. Your stuff has been moved here from your places of residence, and outside of your dorms. Take the rest of the day to move your belongings into your new roomsooms, and get to know your roommate. You'll be spending a lot of time with them." Walking out the door, the teacher flashed a salute. "Don't cause trouble. Later!" With class finally over, Miyu bolted straight from her chair to the door. She turned her head back towards Toshiko, and waved. "Hey! I'll make the room pretty before you come up! See you soon Toshi!" Miyu booked it towards the gate, where to the side of the school she saw a rickety looking building. It almost looked like a janky hikikomori's apartment complex. Miyu shivered but she was excited. Just as Mr. Arai had said, Miyu's belongings had been placed in a neat little pile outside of the rooms. She decided to claim the closest room to the school as possible, and started shoveling all of her junk into the cramped space. The walls were a dry grey color, and the beds looked terribly uncomfortable. However, that could be remedied soon. She placed her black sheets onto the bed, and straightened out nice and smooth. She placed a ton of cheesy romance movies across the wall of her bed, and started hanging up strings of red lights. There were two desks in the room, one placed against the room's walls adjacent to their bunk beds. On them, she started to put little plushies that resembled a cartoonish portrayal of a demon on it. Right in the middle of her desk, she set up a slick laptop, adorned with stickers and bedazzle jewels. "It's perfect!" She squealed, as she waited for Toshiko to arrive.
  17. Team Showdown - Skuldafn After many hours of continuous binge eating, Taiga was almost full. Conversing with the dragons after passing their trial was alright, but it would be time to head back to base soon. With their gifts from the Legends, the fight against the godslayers would be all but a wash. "I feel like I could take on the whole world!" Taiga roared, as she raised a mug into the air, splashing some ale on her face by accident. "Gah! It's in my eye!" After some flailing, a familiar voice spoke in unison, aimed at her mind. "We are Dialga and Palkia, Lords of Time and Space," "Yeah, yeah I remember! Get on with it then!" Taiga rattled her fist to the sky. "And we have an urgent message. Mioter has fallen. Minutes ago those you know as Godslayers waged an all out attack on the city from the island below. The leaders of the city was forced to use their great Psychic power to teleport it away and have since crash landed in the water. As we send this message our fellow Legendaries are racing to the island to do battle with the Godslayers. This is a call to arms to all those who can fight. We cannot send you there directly but we can bring you to one who can. Answer our call and you will be moved across the land to a vessel that can reach the island. There is no shame in refusing. Just know this is to be the final fight for Adarid's future. If you are ready, brace yourselves." Taiga rubbed the nape of her neck. Just moments ago she was raring to dig her fangs into some Godslayer, but the moment was literally at hand. She closed her eyes, and took a chunk out of some meat. Chewing it in a hurry, she slammed her mug onto the table and shot up like a weed. "BRING IT, YA BOZOS!" She looked to Scarlet and Isole respectively. "I better see you two when I get there!" And in that instant, Taiga was whisked away with nothing but darkness surrounding her. She slid across the ground at a breakneck pace, only to be led into a dazzling light. Upon reaching the other side, she could feel wood beneath her bare feet. She stomped on it, the deck feeling all too familiar. "No way." She shot her head around to be met with a face she wished she wouldn't see again. That damn Pidgeot. Team Showdown - S.S. Showdown "So, that sure was a thing. I'm sure you all heard that lovely little message so I'll get to the point. Welcome aboard the S.S. Showdown, this is your Captain speaking. Seems we've got a bit of a job to do and not much time to prepare. This ship is heading full speed to Mioter, or rather where Mioter was, right now. Where we're to have a confrontation with those bastards that have been screwing things up left and right. I don't know about you but I'm kinda pissed to have this shoved on me so I plan on venting it on those Godslayers. It'll take a bit yet to reach there so rest up while you can I doubt we'll have much time once we reach our destination. Before that, though, I have a couple people here who'd like to speak." "Uh...what...?" Taiga asked in disbelief, now noticing that the ship was in the air. "What the hell is a Mioter?" "I am honored to be standing before so many brave souls. My name is Azriel. Some of you know me as the former sheriff of Juyu. But I am also the Disciple of Arceus... I have watched this land for many years. Unable to intervene due to the terms of my status. However the Godslayers attack isn't just a random occurrence. Moments before it happened I sensed the return of Arceus for just a brief moment. This is their attempt to distract from the fact they now have the creator god within their reach. We must stop them quickly else all life will cease to exist. I know it is much to ask but I hope you to all lend me your strength as we fight this grave threat." "Huh?!" "I'm Fiona. Ah, er. I am...I used to be...I used to work with the Godslayers. B-but I left and was found by this ship's crew. I...have information that will help. The Godslayers' base is located deep underground. The only entrance is a device that is near the center of the island. It will bring people down into the base. But it's not so simple. Once inside the only way to travel from room to room are teleportation pads. It...it takes time for these to be set to travel between rooms so it's likely that before they attacked they set it up to make it difficult for people to attack. But it's the only way to reach the heart of the base where the leader will be." "WHAT!? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?" "So there you have it. A lot to take in I'm sure but if you're here it means you're willing to fight and that's really all that matters. I'd love to say we have an in depth plan but there wasn't much time for that and we aren't sure what we're up against besides that it has enough power to shoot a city out of the sky. So here's the plan for what it's worth. We land and we fight. We fight our way to the center of the island. We have no idea how much time we have so don't wait for long once you find this device. Even if it's only a dozen strong once you get there you'll have to head down. Everyone who doesn't get there will fight alongside the Legends and wait for a chance to follow behind." He took a long pause as he looked across the crowd. "Well, that's that. Get what rest you can. And in case I don't get a chance to say it later....good luck. This may be the end but this fight is only just beginning." Taiga almost threw up, but whether it was from this sudden revelation or being so high up in the air was up for debate. Her head swirled, as she aimed her attention at Captain. "You mean...to tell me...*Ulp*," she swallowed down whatever tried to force its way up, "You were workin' with the Legends this whole time?!" Her head swayed from side to side, dizziness and confusion setting in. However, she found her footing, and twisted her foot for more stability. "Whatever, you know what...." She smacked a fist into her hand. "A straight fight is the only thing that really got through to me. The best offense, is a good offense! Fufufufufu!"
  18. She was...rejected!? This was unbelievable! Wasn't she nice? Didn't she do everything right that she saw in all those magazines? She was behaving like a normal girl, right? Then why did Yin say no to her? The question kept bouncing around in her head. On the outside, she remained cool, but inside she was panicking. She was about to step out of the classroom, before she heard a voice next to her. "Hey there. I'd like to share a room with you if you don't have anyone else in mind. Us horned girls gotta watch out for each other, right?" Miyu stopped in her tracks, and shot her face opposite of Toshiko. She wiped her eyes clear of any visible tears, and turned back to the girl with a smile. Her eyes automatically were directed towards the girls horns. "There sure are lots of us in this class huh? Horny gals, I mean!" She placed a hand over her mouth, as if not expecting to make such a remark on purpose. "Oops!" Miyu giggled. "You're Toshiko, right? It might be a little cliche with a red oni and a blue oni rooming together, don't you think?" Miyu shot a hand out. "I'll gladly be your roomie, Toshi! As long as you promise to be my friend!" Her hand flinched back a little. "Oh right...you freeze people right?" Chain rattling could be heard, as metal links poured out of Miyu's wrist. With a mind of their own, they wrapped around Miyu's hand like a tight glove. Then, with a little concentration pouring out from her eyes, the girl lit the chains on fire. "We can shake hands like this, right?" She said, tilting her head to the side. The sound of chains rattling in the room sent a shiver down Juryo's spine, enough for him to almost fall out of his chair completely. He looked around, and saw Toshiko conversing with Miyu. The red girl's hand was on fire now, prompting him to clutch himself to stop the shivering. The bruise on his head started to flare up as well, as if it was getting ready to defend itself. "Yo, Juryo was it? Care to be roommates? Honestly, none of the other guys seem like the kind I want to hang with." "[Yo.] Juryo, right? And you're Keika. You guys did some pretty cool stuff with your Quirks up there. [Very nice.]" Since when did he become so popular? All these guys were starting to huddle around his desk, as if he wanted them too or something. With an aggravated spit to the side, Juryo stuck his pinkie in his ear. Trying to grind the wax out, he looked at the other two guys...make it three now. "So, assuming that we're the only four left, how do we split?" "Geez. Who cares. I don't even remember your guys' names." He was only half joking there. Juryo stood up, to match each of them. "I say we play a little rock, paper, scissors. Losers room with losers. Winners room with Winners." He hunched over, with a sly smile on his face. "That's how this hero industry works, right? Get a little lucky, and you room with the best." Juryo put his fist out, waiting for the others to join in. "That is...unless you all got a better idea or somethin'."
  19. As Yu sat down, Mr. Arai crossed his arms. He nodded to himself, as he seemed to mull over everyone's performance all at once. He mumbled, as his head was lazily thrown around in haphazard angles. He did this for some time, all the while scratching his chin and tapping his foot. After a couple of minutes of his contemplation, his head stood straight and his eyes widened. "You're all simply pathetic!" He shouted, his fangs chewing at the air between them. He almost seemed to be growling. "I've seen better quirk displays at a kindergarten! Seriously, you all lacked the ferocity of a true hero!" He slammed his foot into the ground, crumbling the infrastructure a little more. "The only one who was even worth an Iota of my attention was miss Kohaku! And even then, that was pathetic! If this were the real deal, and I were a villain, none of you would have stood a chance!" A vein started to swell on his head, as he kept barking. "ARGH!" Mr. Arai cradled his head into his hands, as his body started to shake. He wrestled with himself for a few moments, as if something was trying to escape from within his chest. Slamming a fist into the desk, and splintering it in half, the man was finally able to stand upright. He gasped for air, as he turned to the students. "I'm sorry..." Mr. Arai spoke softly. "I didn't truly mean that. All of your quirks are wonderful, and you did great against me. Now before we go on break, let me explain some things." Mr. Arai leaned against the chalkboard, his breathing still heavy. "If you haven't been told already, from this day forward you will be living in the campus dorms. In those dorms, you will be closely monitored, twenty-four seven. There are cameras in every nook and cranny on school grounds. This ensures that you are behaving within the rules and regulations that the Hero Administration has placed here." He took another deep breath before continuing. "Now, we don't have many dorm rooms in our single building, so you will have to find one roommate that you would like to bunk with. Boys will live on the top floor while the girls live on the bottom, and neither will be allowed in the other's area." His gaze turned sharp. "If at any time that rule is broken, I will have no problems sending you to the deepest level of hell I can find." He stumbled up to his feet, as he made his way to the door, hoisting himself up on the side. "Break starts now, so I suggest you find a roommate before I assign you one...while I'm gone, I'll have our resident engineer come fix the room." Mr. Arai shambled out the door, and down the hallway into the faculty room. A few moments later, a lady wandered into the room. Her expression was almost in shock, as she saw that the room was in total disarray. Her fist balled, and started to shake, as she slammed it into the door, breaking it. "That....mangy...rotten...good for nothin'!" The lady's hands started to glow a bright green light, as the door she had just busted began to reassemble itself. She walked into the room, towards the crater that Kohaku had made, and placed her hands on it. All the pieces of rubble that had been scattered throughout the room slowly started to gather back into the hole, as the girl concentrated. She seemed to ignore that the students were even there. "A roommate, huh?" Miyu thought to herself, pursing her lips together in thought. She looked around the room, seeing who would be the most fun to have in a room together. It was a shame she couldn't bunk with a boy, but she might've killed them before the first night was over anyway. The thought made her giggle. Miyu scanned the room some more, with a definite top 3 in mind. Shark Girl, Ram Girl, and Tenta Girl. The last on her mind seemed like it would be the most fun! Torturing such a strong girl, that's what High School was all about! Molding her into a sidekick would also prove invaluable. Ignoring the woman who had come in to fix up the room, Miyu got up from her seat and skipped to her third choice. She stopped and bent over, placing her hands on the girls desk. With a sweet smile, and knocking her head to the side, Miyu spoke. "You're Lin, right?!" She accidentally mixed her two names together in her excitement. "Sorry! I mean Yin, right!? Your quirk is sooooooo cool, and you really stuck it to that lame teacher!" She got closer to the girl, the enthusiasm dripping from her tongue. "So, like, do you wanna be my roomie!? I think it'd be so fun if we could hang out together! And sleep together!" Her eyelashes dropped lower, as she spoke in a lower tone. "And don't forget about bathing together..." Blushing as he heard the conversation from that devil, Juryo couldn't help but wonder what was up with that teacher's behavior. As a matter of fact, that guy hadn't even told them his Hero name, or his quirk. Was it a strength enhancing Quirk, or would it be a dead giveaway if he revealed it that he wasn't a hero? He couldn't help but find it all to be a little suspicious. Regardless, the man was capable and strong. If Juryo could learn anything about becoming a real hero, and avoiding jail time, he wouldn't worry too much about it for the time being. Instead, Juryo kicked his legs up on his desk. The lady that had come in to clean the place up had a pretty interesting quirk, so he watched her work for the time being. None of the guys interested him enough to go out of his way and pick as a roommate. Instead, he leaned over to talk to Toshiko again. "Hey, I doubt any of the girls wanna room with you on account of the cold. Why don't you try rooming with that demon instead, and teach her a lesson for me." He said, a dastardly smile painted on his face.
  20. "As you may have heard from Lord Usaphaidos, I am Vorpu. So long as you all stay close by I can promise your protection. My powers haven't left me despite this grand change in the world so that's at least one constant we can count on." “Okie dokie new friend! Strength in numbers right?” "If we're to go scouting, we shouldn't waste any time and get moving. I have to admit, I am curious about where we are." "M-m-me too!" The small glob of shadow responded rather sheepishly. "I may not be a floor guardian, but I know my way around the Pyramid like the back of my hand! I can get us to the surface in a jiffy!" The small creature leaped and bounded out of the throne room, and towards the outer hall, prompting the rest to follow. After navigating the deepest crypts, they came upon a large circular tube that shot straight up. The creature stuck his hand inside, showing that the solid black pillar had a permeable layer to it. With his hands halfway through the side, he jerked his head in the pillar's direction. "This is the abyssal lift! I know most of you probably know this already, but we're on the bottom layer of the pyramid! The 99th floor! This elevator can take us to any floor in an instant!" He walked into the pillar entirely, and waited for the others. Upon their arrival inside the lift. the creature giggled. "Intruders need a pass from a floor guardian to get to the next level of the pyramid." He squished his cheeks together as he blushed. "Heheheh so cruel of Master Usaphaidos to make tomb raiders fight that hard! That's why I love him! Heheheh!" As they all would step into the lift, they would feel themselves being rocketed into the air. Their guide was smushed against the translucent as it ascended to the top, though the others wouldn't feel much due to their vast strength. Once they had made it to the top, they would walk out of the pyramid to find a rather simple looking set of granite stairs. Walking up them, and moving a stone slab out of the way, they would find themselves in the first floor's only room in the pyramid. It looked extremely plain, and only held a large stone Sarcophagus in the image of Usaphaidos, which they had emerged from. "Make sure to put the top back on!" The creature exclaimed. Light was shining from the outside world through a crack in the tomb's barely open door. The shadow moved the stone out of the way, unleashing more light. It hissed a bit upon seeing the rays of a sun. "Yuck! So this is outside?! Terrible!" Begrudgingly, the creature made its way outside of the tomb, stepping onto the lush grass that lay outside. The scenery was so new to him, that he had to take a breath for once in his undead life. The small tip of the Abyssal Pyramid lay at the base of the crag before him, and the rest was surrounded on all sides by forest. Taking a few whiffs of the air around them, the creature came back to the others. "I smell a fire not too far from here...we could go check that out if you guys wanna..." "I reckon I could be persuaded to follow ya and scout out. Vorpu can take his posse and search an area...and we can search another. But lemme reiterate one thing, son...we are scouting and nothing more. If the situation calls for it...then we eliminate the opposition. Are we clear?" "Sheesh old timer! I thought you were an outlaw or somethin'!" Jacques shrugged. "Ain't ya...I don't know...supposed to out the law?" He looked towards the gunslinger, who most certainly did not wear the most enthused expression in the abyss. "Fine, whatever! But even if I egg 'em on they're fair game! Hahah!" The young scythe wielder let out a laugh, before heading towards the Throne Room doors. "How do we even get to the top by the way?" The boy asked. "I don't really remember gettin' in or out of this place..." From behind, the shuffling of bandages could be heard. The two would turn to the side to see the Mummy from before, pointing to the left hallway after the Throne Room doors. "Staaaaaiiiiirssss..." It moaned. Jacques looked frustrated with the response. "You're telling the Grim Reaper to take the stairs!? Your insolence knows no bounds!" Jacques began to swing his scythe to cleave the Mummy in half, but was interrupted by Usaphaidos, who had teleported in the path of the Scythe's trajectory. Usaphaidos held the blade between his fingers, flicking it away. Jacques grunted, as his Scythe flew away to the side. "All denizens of the Abyssal Pyramid are under my rule and protection. You'd do well to remember this Jacques." With another grunt, Jacques lifted his hand up as the Scythe flew back towards his hand. "Yes, Lord Usaphaidos." He shot a glance towards Nassor and left the Throne Room in a hurry, turning to the left and walking towards the stairs. After the two of them had left, Usaphaidos looked at the Mummy, and stroked his chin. "That was rather cruel of you...did you make those stairs just now?" Usaphaidos chuckled. "What need would I have for stairs in a pyramid...truly you are a cruel undead." The Mummy could only grunt in response. After some time, the duo would find themselves emerging from a side passage, which split apart the right wall of the first floor. Light was already seeping into the tomb, as Jacques had to shield his eyes for a brief moment. "So there it is, huh? A brand new world, ripe for the taking!" Jacques readied himself, before bursting into a full out run. Bolting past the other party, He found himself on the side of a large lake. "Nassor shouldn't have trouble keeping up with me, right? He'll miss out on all the fun if he doesn't!" The Grim reaper kicked his heels together, as he sat on the grip of his scythe, riding it like a witch would her broom. He bolted across the lake, taking flight, until he caught site of something standing in the middle. Someone, clad in armor, stood on top of the water, watching as Jacques approached. Jacques clenched his teeth, as he headed straight towards the person with killer intent.
  21. It wasn't much longer that the class had been filled to the brim with teenagers. The teacher at the front of the room eyed them over rather quickly, his pupils darting between all of their faces, placing the name and quirk right behind them in his mind. He stroked his chin, as if he hadn't thought this part through enough. He looked as if he were about to say something, only to go back to stroking his chin, pacing behind his desk. He stopped for a brief moment, and turned back towards the class. "Good Morning, delinquents." He said, almost casually. "Society's trash? Screw ups? Lost souls? Problem children? Failures?" He began eyeing certain individuals dependent on what phrase he uttered. "Welcome to your first day of Hairo Academy for At Risk Youth's Course Correction Program! I'm your teacher, Arai Oka. I've been retired from hero work for about 5 years now, so it's good to get back into things by whipping you all into shape, and molding you into proper heroes!" His cheery demeanor dropped for that of a serious nature. "In all seriousness, this is your last chance to avoid a jail sentence. There's only so much I can do for all of you, so please don't give me any trouble." A sole finger tapped his cheek. "I have the authority to send any of you away for any reason, so please give it your all." The air in the class was tense after his introduction. A fanged grin spread across his face. "So now that I've introduced myself, please do the same. While you do so, give us an accurate description of your Quirk. If you try to lie at all, I'll fail you automatically." He held up a finger in the air. "Trust is the first thing a hero needs in others, and himself. That is your first lesson." "This is such bullshit..." Juryo whispered to Toshio. "Ah! Seems we have a volunteer!" Mr. Arai remarked, clapping his hands in excitement. "Please come up, won't you son?" "Son of a..." Juryo kicked his chair away as he stood up. He walked to the front of the class with both hands in his pockets, as he groaned with every step. He looked to Mr. Arai, who still stood in the middle of the desk. The teacher ushered Juryo to stand right next to him. "You've gotta be kidding? What is this?! Preschool!?" The man laughed heartily, almost howling. "I can't say that I am, son! I'm very serious. It's just a precautionary measure." The man picked a phone out of his pocket, and started to dial. "Or do we have a problem?" Juryo saw the number, and shuddered. "Whatever." Juryo spat, before standing uncomfortably close to the teacher. He held his hand midway up his chest. "Yo. My Name's Isobe Juryo. You all can call me Juryo, I don't care. As for my Quirk...while I'm touching things, I can redistribute the weight however I want. But while I'm not touching them, they start reverting to their normal weights." Juryo shot a glare at Mr. Arai. "So...is that good enough? Or am I being detained?" He smirked. But he was rather nervous that he hadn't gone into too much detail. The man took a moment before responding. "That's good enough. Thank you Isobe." "I said call me Jury-" "Now if you'd please, try to hit me with everything you've got." Juryo stopped for a moment. He blinked in bewilderment, as a smile crept across his face. "Come again?" "Did I stutter? I want you to try and hit me. I want a demonstration of what you can do." Juryo's hand immediately went for the desk, while placing the other hand on his chest. "Your funeral." Juryo's breathing had become a little sporadic, this was a little nerve wracking after all. Trying to land a punch on a retired pro hero? Who was this guy anyway? After a couple more seconds passed, Juryo lifted the desk easily with one arm, as he swung it at the teacher. Mr. Arai simply dipped under the table, and chopped Juryo's wrist in a flash. The desk clanked against the chalkboard without so much as disturbing the residue chalk on the board. It looked like a piece of styrofoam had hit the floor when it did. Juryo hadn't realized what had happened, the motion was too quick, but he went for another punch towards the man with the hand that had been on his chest. Mr. Arai caught the punch midair, feeling a little bit of force behind it. "You aren't a rookie, that's for sure." Juryo's voice nervously sputtered. "Well naturally." Mr. Arai smiled. He picked up the desk, surprised by how light it was, and put it back in it's place. "That'll be all. Next!" Giggling as Juryo was humiliated, and dragged himself back towards his desk, Miyu was the next to get up. She clasped her fingers behind her backside as she skipped up to the desk. She placed herself close to Mr. Arai, who didn't so much as flinch at her approach. She waved to the class with both hands while wearing a bright smile. "Good Morning everyone! It's a pleasure to meet you! My name is Hioni Miyu! You can call me whatever you'd like, as long as you wanna be friends!" Miyu held her hands together in front of her chest. "I hope that we can all become great friends, and even greater heroes together! This is just a small bump in the road for all of us, right?" Juryo could be heard coughing in the back, intelligible insults being placed in the rasp. "Let's see, my Quirk right? Well, I think I have a really long chain living inside me, and I can call it out whenever I want, from wherever on my body I want. It's pretty long, but I have to share the length between all the chains I call out." Miyu demonstrated this by having a chain pop out of her shoulder. It slunk to the ground with a clang. "Also, I can cover it in some really cool fire! But don't worry, it's not hot." She picked up the chain and held it in both hands, as flames lit each link. "Well, unless you've got some guilt on your conscious...but I'm sure it wouldn't burn any of you guys!" She smiled. "Now, Miss Hioni, if you would please try and strike m-" Without hesitation, the end of Miyu's chain shot itself towards the teacher at an insane pace. Mr. Arai seemed thrown off by this as well, as the shock on his face was visible. He ducked under the chain, as he did before with Juryo's desk. However, Miyu had kept composure, as she looked to the side. The chain's tip made a sharp turn right back at the teacher, who caught the attack in the corner of his eye. With a roundhouse kick, the man deflected the attack once again, flames tickling his shoe. He brought his face closer to his foot, and blew out the flame with a quick huff and puff. Smiling at the girl the teacher pointed to her desk. "That'll be all. A good attempt." "Maybe next time!" Miyu chimed, as she skipped back to her desk in the front row. "We'll see! Next!"
