  1. Trevor's words remained in Mauvache's messages without any sort of indication of reception for some time. Were he to check it later he would see that it had been "seen" but no response to it was given. When the duo returned from their triumph Bartleby would greet them warmly. Or rather he would expend the energy to crane his neck and look at them for a while before letting out a low "Slaaaa...." sound. Eventually the next day would come and with it....not much else. At least not at first. A news story would at some point appear on their watches about "Fact or Fiction: Are the rumors of giant skeletons seen prowling the graveyards at night real, fake, or something even more sinister....a prank show?" However they didn't seem to get any indication from Mauvache if this was something they had to deal with and any further investigation would show this had been happening every few days for the past month. What happened next was fully in the four new Guardian's hands. Yes, four, not three. For it seemed that destiny was trying to bring their fourth member back to them after their harrowing underwater journeys. Whether destiny succeeds or not is not in its hands. However this didn't stop the group from doing what they wanted with that morning.
  2. I'm pretty up front about what I do or don't like if asked but I also don't dislike a lot. Hm. I think at most I've sometimes told someone "It's fine" when I didn't really like it but I can't think of anything specific. 134

  4. If Chris looked closer at the darkness he'd notice that it didn't fade into black like usual darkness. Instead there was a certain point down the stairs that it simply cut off into a screen of blackness. The sight he saw when turning back was not the most heartening either. The Bodak had been slowed and had taken a tumble down the steps but it was already back up and approaching again. The undead paused as it started up the steps and grabbed the dagger still in its head. It yanked it out and took a look at it. There was a moment where the creature seemed lost in thought, if such a thing had any thoughts, as it looked at the dagger but then it resumed its approach. This time holding the dagger properly as though it were intending to use the weapon. Lana would feel the paralysis more strongly in her arm now which made that arm nearly useless. The ghoul grappling with Ziun didn't seem as strong as the zombies had been but it was strong enough. Especially as the paralysis seemed to be working harder now. Ziun would find every movement difficult to do. The creature would have overpowered him by now but Estelle, using her awkward makeshift weapon, stabbed the short blade of light into the creature's back. It barely seemed to notice it but it noticed it just enough that Ziun was able to squirm out of its grip. Though as soon as it noticed that it had lost the advantage on Ziun the ghoul sprang back up, ready to attack Estelle or Ziun. Whichever one moved first.
  5. For some reason this is the first thing that came to mind Favorite dragon?

  11. Penelope frowned. Much of what the maid was saying made sense at first glance but she couldn't help but feel there was something she was missing. She wasn't nearly satisfied with the answers. Particularly not the hand wave of what happened with her sister. The idea that she'd willingly get drunk in a place like this was absurd. Though it seemed likely that she had somehow been put to sleep. Or else there was no way she'd not have done something to stop Gaston by now. "You know things would go much better for us if you answered everything so readily." Penelope said, starting to grow impatient with the way this woman spoke. Unfortunately her impatience made her miss the signs that the woman was about to break free until it was too late. "I ain't 'ave time fer ye two, so I'll jest be on me way. Ye gots yer answers, so leave me be, an' I'll do ye the same." "Not nearly enough answers, I still haven't...hold, hold I say!" Penelope started after the woman, only to be caught up in a flurry of feathers as the birds took off. "Don't think you can jus- ah!" she called out in alarm as she tried to force her way past only to end up falling backwards in the process. Gunther breathed out a sigh of relief. It seemed that everything would be alright here now. Even as the villagers seemed to brush off their thanks Gunther gave a short bow. "Please, accept our gratitude. You didn't have to do so much for people you don't know yet you still did. I can say with certainty that the people of Phar are good folk." When they began to clean up Gunther considered offering to help them. But then he paused. It suddenly occurred to him that in all this time he hadn't see Penelope nor Alois. They should have been able to investigate the entire house by now yet they still hadn't returned. "Ah. This might be sudden but I must go now." He told the others. "I must be sure that Penelope is safe." He figured that Citron would stay with Peaches for now and he had no authority to tell her nor Raki what to do anyway, and he wasn't sure it would be a good idea to enlist Raki's help just in case. And then there was Edrick which.... "I should be fine on my own. Link must have caught that man by now so perhaps..." he looked around at the mess as if to suggest helping. Though he couldn't with any confidence say it out loud. With an awkward grunt he headed back for the house on the search for the younger princess. "Eh?" Came Cora's surprised reaction as Tsetseg hit Gaston with an arrow. "Ehhh?" Came another as Gaston kept going. "Ehhhhhhhh?" came a third when Gaston literally grabbed his horse and stopped it from moving. "....Wait!" She called out suddenly, broken out of her shock as the man tried to climb back on his horse. "You...you stay right there, we have to take you in, dagnabit!" She looked to her horse then paused. She didn't want to ride it too close to that wyvern after all. So instead she just advanced straight on towards Gaston on foot, this time drawing her sword. "You're making a right fool of yourself Gaston, get back here this instant!" She looked over at her companions. "Acantha, Phai, cut off his escape, don't gotta get too close just make sure he don't go nowhere if he tries riding off!"
  12. Team JAA/AJA/AAJ Anneliese wasn't so sure she liked what Anima had said. "Hm, are we supposed to fight with the Pokemon? Have I been doing it wrong this whole time? Oh dear, I've been making poor Leopold get hit when I should have been getting hit alongside him." She seemed to stress somewhat about this for a while until of course the time came to set up camp and she grew distracted. --- "though I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to start a fire on a grass...hmmmm...Well, I'm sure we can deal with any problem anyway, Corsola's a water type anyway right?" "Oh yeah!" “As for what you can do to help… Jacklyn’s right, we should start figuring out for a fire-- But she’s also right in that we shouldn’t be starting it on the grass. The Corsola where I come from at Ghost type, after all,” "Oh no!" Anneliese furrowed her brow. "Something to burn..." She looked around, eyes lingering on the tent for a few moments longer than she should have before deciding that, no, that would be a bad idea. Thankfully Anima brought up wood and Anneliese gasped. "Oh my, I forgot, wood burns! That's right, I believe my parents told me that primitive people used to heat their homes by burning wood...how novel!" She clapped her hands together. "Very well I shall go on a hunt to find wood to burn!" She sent out her Shinx, who gave her a confused look and glanced around to find something to battle. "Come, Leopold, we must gather wood!" From the grass nearby, something watched. Body tensed up as it observed the humans moving about. Then it ducked farther into the grass and waited. Team BQN “I am a ghost!” "And I'm sure you're a spooky one at that when you put your mind to it." Billy said without missing a beat as he led them inside. "Don't get many ghosts. Some Ghost Pokemon of course, they're a tricky bunch to keep from wandering off but they're harmless for the most part." He paused. "Oh right, if one of them slips into your rooms don't worry just come get me or my brother and we'll get them back in the fence." “I get a little excited sometimes.” Billy laughed as well. "Ah it's alright. Good to see passionate young folk. Means you'll be sure to take care of your Pokemon right I'd say. If you wanna know more about caring for the Pokemon my brother does much of that. I mostly talk with the trainers, he's not very good with people, and do the cooking. But I can show you a thing or two about Pokemon food tomorrow if you're interested." Billy had led them over to a hallway that had multiple doors on one side and only two on the other. "As for Bearble, course I know about them. That's one of the Starter Pokemon the Professor raised right over in her place at the edge of town." He stopped then and gestured towards the doors. "They're all empty right now so feel free to choose however many rooms as you're comfortable with. Me and my brother's rooms are right across the hall if you run into any trouble." His eyes lingered on Belle a moment and a small frown crossed his face, as it seemed he noticed something was wrong, but then he smiled again and decided it was none of his business before wishing them all a good night.
  13. well now I want to ad hominem you... anyway It's a bit slow for my tastes but it was still good, 7.5/10 because I don't want to knock too many points for just being slow.
  14. For a brief moment all they could see was each other. As Ziun got closer they all were in clear view and as far as any of them could see it was just them. This didn't last long. First came the now familiar wave of fear as the bodak emerged from the fog. Coming from nearly exactly where Estelle's orb of light was. The creature didn't lurch like the zombies but it did move at a steady, slower, pace. It seemed to be focused on the two standing near the door as it made its way forward. And as it moved it turned its twisted face towards Lana, gazing at her intently. Ziun would suddenly feel something at his back. Claws slashing him from behind. Another ghoul had emerged from somewhere nearby and had attacked him as he made his way towards the group. As soon as the ghoul's claws sliced into his back he could feel a numbness spreading and a paralysis setting in. Estelliese, too, would have an encounter with a ghoul. As it emerged from behind a gravestone and rushed at her. Because of Estelle's position she could see the creature coming for her, unlike Ziun, but wouldn't have long to react before it was upon her.
  15. Aaaand that's it! This was a tough one to get going but we managed it in the end. In 4th place, one of what I assumed would be in finals, Fable! In 3rd place, the not quite as loved sequel, Halo 2 In 2nd place, the hilariously out of place Sonic Riders! And in 1st place, probably the best known Xbox game, a game that essentially made the system. Halo: Combat Evolved!
  16. "I never said I was. People need someone to look up to...to inspire and aspire to be. That's it." Thessa watched Override for a few moments, wondering if he heard what he had said, but when he walked off she smiled and shook her head. "Ah, kids." There wasn't much time until she was gathered with a small group who, she presumed, were meant to also go with to take care of this champion business. She took a quick look around and saw that she once again would be fighting alongside Sibyl...and also the Zodiac girl. The latter was much less exciting than the former and she wasn't particularly looking forward to dealing with one of them. But, it was just more reason to take care of this fast. “And I don’t believe he’s looking for a fair fight besides. But again, this is a distraction, so give him something worth being distracted over.” "Well it's not a fair fight, you're sending me. Numbers doesn't really mean much without real power to back it up. I'll do a lot more than just distract them don't worry." She then turned to look at the Zodiac girl. "So, what, you're here to watch or something? Don't imagine you're gonna have a lot to do." Cassiopeia rolled her eyes but it was in a way that implied she was saying "I cherish the days that I don't have much to do," or, "Call it symbolic of the Zodiac's support in this effort," rather than anything derogatory. "Yeah that seems about right." Thessa replied. "Good ol Zodiac, doing as little as possible and still thinking they should get a say." Cassiopeia just wrapped her hair around her finger, as if to say, "I'd say you haven't changed, but the last time someone did that you said you dyed your hair. Have you changed something else since last week that I just haven't noticed?" Thessa giggled. "It's a shame you're stuck with that dull group, you might actually be a little bit interesting otherwise. Anyway I don't expect any of you to get it. None of you realize what stagnation really means." She frowned and her gaze for just a moment turned duller. Then she shook her head and laughed. "Look at me, I sound like such a granny right now." She then turned away from the girl and said to Sibyl. "So you about ready to show that brat what a big mistake he made?"
  17. There was a tense silence as Fiona looked over the game board and thought about how the match had gone. How, had she just went for Melissa full force, she might have won. It was annoying. And embarrassing. And even more annoying still. Still she was silent as she gathered up her cards. Once she had she looked up at Melissa and had perhaps the most forced smile the girl had ever seen on her face. "Well...good job. I guess that's what happens in a two on one match huh? Didn't expect someone new to figure out a plan like that. Had to use my own cards against me too. You understand how strong my cards are at least." She then stood up abruptly. "Well. I should get going. Make sure those idiots aren't getting into too much trouble." They could see the girl's clenched fists and had to wonder what might happen to the Spike Brothers after this. Fiona began to leave, the fake smile still plastered on her face, then she paused. She put a hand into her pocket and pulled something out before tossing it onto the table, perhaps with a bit more force than necessary, in front of the two. "Make sure you get stronger before I duel you one on one wouldn't want to make a fool of yourself too badly." She then marched off. As she passed the last table the sleeping girl sat up and said "Ohey Fiona....bye Fiona." as the purple haired girl ignored her and kept going. The formerly sleeping girl looked over at the duo, gave a half smile, tilted her head in confusion, then lay back down presumably to go back to sleep. When they looked at what Fiona had dropped they saw that it was two packs of cards.
