  1. Joseph had too many consonants, so I used a nickname basically nobody calls me, and ended up with... Xjoe. I'm a fucking fanfiction.
  2. >Mewtwo grabs ledges easier Fucking thank you. This was desperately needed. Fast thoughts on piranha plant: FUCK THIS GIRL IS STRONG. Fantastic aerials, a down b that punishes the entire game, and even her worst move (ptooie) is absolutely fantastic anti-air. Not really my style of character, but still amazingly strong by all means.
  3. I think what's so great about it is that it prevents you from falling back on tempo. Sure, it is just a cantrip, but the situations in which you would cast this, you would otherwise be casting nothing.
  4. Though it would be pushing it pretty hard, I think Phoenixide could afford to only require one of its materials to be Gemini. This opens up potential for gemini scorpion, junk forward, and other similar effects. I understand that reaction is supposed to fill that role, but you simply won't always have it available.
  5. I finally decided on a main, in Greninja. Does anybody have experience with him? He feels a lot different from sm4sh, so most guides are next to useless.
  6. Top 20, with reasoning. Nihilego went missing at some point during selection. She belongs here, somewhere in the top 10.
  7. Woke up late, rushed to work. Turns out I misread my schedule and am an hour early. Fuck me amiright?

  8. They freed the wrong bug. Hornet isn't even as good as ladybug. Deck might even be worse than it was before this list, with the loss of gumblar.

Green blue always feels good. Scry doesn't show up as much as I want it to. No matter how much scry there is, that will always be true.
  10. Even if you aren't a combo deck, running karmic guide isn't a detriment to your midrange (helps it, in fact) and it gives you an option against hard control. Arena is slow, you are absolutely correct there. But frankly, I think you are in a situation where you take what you can get. At the very least, I'd go for sign in blood. If you add SFM, shred memory is a really fucking good card.
  11. Bombs: No. You don't have karmic guide. Add karmic guide. The combo with reveillark is simply too good to pass up, and it is generically powerful as well (as all combo pieces should be, fuck you pili pala put down that cranial plating and go back to the kitchen table). Otherwise I'd say you're probably fine, maybe toss in crypt ghast to help push your x spells. Living death is a winbutton in many gamestates, as already mentioned. Card Draw: You aren't running phyrexian arena. Run phyrexian arena. Otherwise I think you are fine on the draw effects, but I feel advantage should be capitalized upon more heavily. Land Tax is a mainstay of the format for a reason, and even cards that net you low-quality advantage, like scrying sheets, make all the difference in orzhov. Run some cards to help you get to your advantage generators, like Stoneforge Mystic and Academy Rector. Also, run Phyrexian Arena. Removal: Honestly I don't think that should be much of a concern. Between grave pact effects and boardwipes, it will be difficult for aggro to keep up with you. Return to dust is fantastic, and Anguished Unmaking is similar, but honestly I'd go as far as Utter End to be sure you can cut short combos when you need to. Though you are a combo deck, and a resilient one at that, most other combos will go off before you can so you need to be prepared for it. Though it doesn't do much against combo, Vindicate is stupid good and you should probably run it.
  12. Getting tired of people complaining about the lack of logic in Thanos's plan. That's the fucking point.

I imagine anyone with goals like his is at least somewhat insane to begin with, and (assuming we're talking about the MCU) it's not like it was really any better in the comics where a large part of his motivation was him wanting to impress Lady Death (which I don't think she was).

    3. (o ×)

      (o ×)

There is a reason they hammered home the title of "Mad Titan". He was so consumed by his goal, and the method that was previously his only option, that not once did he consider an alternative, even when granted nigh-omnipotence.

  13. You don't need to remember specific names for mind crush, provided you can make it clear to your opponent what card you are referring to.
  14. cosplay crunch except this time I have 18 days, twice the work hours, and a full-time relationship. Let's fuckin do it.

  15. As quickly as their interaction began, his introduction to the girl with silver hair was cut short by those running the exam - he didn't even get a chance to catch her name. After a particularly frightening girl made her introduction and went through the gate, Shoshiki's silver-haired teammate made her way up. "Hello everyone, my name is Itou Yuuka. I look forward to working alongside all of you." Well, at least he knew her name now. The rest of the students went up one by one, until the entrance was nearly empty. Each time one of the entrants received their starting badge and left, Shoshiki willed himself to go up and take his, but each time someone with more presence leaped up before he got moving. Come on, Shoshiki. Move. You'll need to do it sooner or later, and every second you wait is going to make things more difficult! After a boy with weird treads on his arms introduced himself and took his badge, Shoshiki felt a pause long enough that he managed to take that first, most difficult step. Despite the fact that he was screaming internally, he made his way to the platform where the samurai and old man resided, holding out his hand for his badge as he muttered, "Shoshiki Kojin." Luckily, that introduction seemed to be enough for the samurai, who checked him off of the quickly-thinning list and dropped the badge into Shoshiki's hand. Unfortunately, like many of the others, Shoshiki was not fully prepared for the weight the badge would bring with it. Unlike many of the others, however, Shoshiki's hand fell off at the wrist with the impact of the badge. Landing on the ground with a satisfying thud, his hand was only barely attached to the rest of his, with a few thin strands of his nervous tissue trailing down from his still-outstretched arm to the other half of his wrist down below. Unsure of exactly what to do in such a situation, Shoshiki simply stood there for a few seconds, staring into the now empty space his hand had occupied. Is this seriously happening right now? With a defeated sigh, Shoshiki directed thicker threads downward, weaving together as they bridged the gap to his hand. With an awkward yank, he rose his hand and the badge within its clutches back up to himself, his wrist stitching itself back together as if nothing had ever happened. Shoshiki spent a few more silent seconds standing in his place, before an expectant glance from the samurai woke him up to the situation he was in, and how valuable the time he was wasting really was. Taking a deep breath, Shoshiki nodded at the man whose chances of becoming his teacher felt far slimmer than they did an hour ago, before turning himself to face the gate. Quirk Factor With a slight grimace for what was to come, Shoshiki used his free hand to unzip his hoodie and tossed it aside, exposing his otherwise bare torso, covered in stitched in a pattern almost mimicking a zebra. He never liked how gruesome his quirk was, but luckily it came with plenty of perks. A set of stitches on the back of his right shoulder loosened and opened up, creating a space just large enough to fit the badge. Shoshiki carefully stowed his treasure within, before the opening was closed once again by the stitches, leaving a small but visible bulge where it lay beneath the surface. Now then. I think she headed into the city area, so that's where I'll go. Hopefully, she isn't the stealthy type. Threads from Shoshiki's elbows and wrists extended out of his body, before coiling themselves tightly around the lengths of his arms. Bending his arms at the elbows, he brought them to his sides, as he leaned forward and looked on into the city zone on the other side of the gate. Please don't miss. With a grunt of effort, Shoshiki extended both of his arms forward as fast as he could. Rather than stopping at the natural limit of their length, they went far forward, as he tightly grabbed onto bars on either side of the open gate. Retracting the threads back into his body once again, Shoshiki was propelled forward at a high speed, launching off of the ground and through the gate. Though he wasn't far above the ground, he managed to continue moving forward by swinging between light posts, fire escapes, and any other handhold he could find at the moment. "Help!" The plea caught Shoshiki off guard, and in his momentary confusion he missed a street light by a few inches, crashing down onto the ground and skidding forward a few feet, his limbs all pointed haphazardly. Still a confused mess of body parts, Shoshiki turned his head around to find the source of the cry for help, to see what seemed to be a mannequin on the side of the street, crouched down beside a sewer grate. "I dropped my keys! Help!" Many hoping to become heroes would be disappointed by such a mundane task, but Shoshiki was overjoyed. This is something he would be good at, and he didn't even need to fight anyone for it! Pulling himself together both literally and metaphorically, Shoshiki approached the prop. It seemed the budget for this test wasn't the best, but he supposed it would work well enough. Peering down through the grate, he saw a glint of silver at the very bottom. Cracking his knuckles, Shoshiki used his quirk yet again, stretching out the lengths of his fingers as he slipped his hand through the grate. It was difficult for him to control his hand too precisely at this distance, but after a bit of frustration, he managed to grab hold of the keys and lift them up, only to find they were much heavier than expected. Once they had reached ground level, it became abundantly clear why, as one of the silver UA badges was attached to the keychain, only to pop off by some unseen mechanism as he set the keys beside the mannequin, for lack of interaction. "I was lucky to hear that, given how fast I was going," Shoshiki mused to himself, as he placed the new badge in the shoulder opposite his first. "Guess I should stay on foot from hereon out." Breaking into a brisk jog, he noticed the girl from before, Yuuka, now accompanied by the blonde girl who arrived before him. He approached with caution, before the mystery girl spoke to him unexpectedly. "You, too! Wanna form a team with me and her for this exam? I can carry as many badges as you need!" Nervously looking to Yuuka for some form of reassurance, he scratched at the stitches on his neck, "I guess... But that means we will need to find even more of these badges to pass..." As he spoke, Shoshiki extended his arms slightly so that he could reach and pull his two badges from his back, showing them to the pair. "I don't think these little tasks everywhere will work for a group like us. If we are going to get all the badges we need in time, we need to find something big," he offered his pair of badges to the volunteer packmule, shrugging, "but I don't really know what that could be... Any ideas? Er, Yuuka?'
  16. Though many films will end up with their own threads at one point or another, I figured something like this could be really useful for upcoming films that people are looking forward to, but don't want to go through the process of posting a thread. What really is sticking out to me, personally, is Velvet Buzzsaw. As excited as I am to see Jake Gyllenhaal in the MCU, weird suspenseful films like this are where he really shines. I am a huge fan of Nightcrawler and Donnie Darko, hell I even enjoyed Life and that movie was a fucking mess. This feels like a perfect utilization of his talent, and even without him the cast and crew is incredible. What are all of you excited for this year?
  17. Even here, I don't believe double strike to be a terribly relevant keyword. There is a reason etb effects are more prevalent than creatures with a hefty board presence. For granting double strike, I'd keep it pretty limited. True Conviction could be funny if your table is slow enough for it. Another haste granter I forgot that I believe is an absolute must-have is Slayer's Stronghold. Can you imagine just how swingy it could be with bruse? Drop Hydra Omnivore, use the stronghold and bruse on him, knock everyone down by 20 and gain an obscene amount of life, while keeping it up as a blocker for the inevitable retaliation.
  18. I think you want more haste, as well as more things that grant haste. You have some cards that give great value on hit, but the deck getting dicked this hard by sorcery speed removal holds it back a lot. An undoubtedly good option for this is fires of yavimaya, as it can also server as a combat trick (synergizing with bruse's buff, for that matter). Another really good option here is the new Rhythm of the Wild, I'd say it goes without saying exactly why. My persinal favorite for cards of this variety is Mass Hysteria, as well as Concordant Crossroads. Yes, it benefits the opponent as well, but as a 1 drop it is easy to sandbag until you plan to drop some guys for a big swing, and even if it is being used completely fairly it is likely that you gain well more from it than the opponent. Edit: additionally, your top end feels pretty bloated, without much to get you there. Consider farseek, cultivate, kodama's reach, explore, growth spiral, harrow, green sun's zenith (with dryad arbor), and the assortment of other ramp spells that are not coming to mind at this moment.

Is there a banlist update tomorrow or something? If so, gifts legal in edh would be nice. EDIT: fuck gifts, I went prophet back. Card is fair, people just kneejerk react to green being good.

Lgs ran out of slots for midnight, so my group is splitting a box 6 ways. I'll bring up my pulls when we crack into it
  21. Today I have to wear jeans to work. I'll be honest, spending 10 minutes at 5 am figuring out which pair had the least ground-in paint was much more effort than I would have liked to put in this morning.

I was expecting something else. My job is to not wear jeans, which is absurd. I look more professional than half of the teachers at my school do, even when I wear jeans and a blazer.

The fact that you would ask this non-rhetorically about a set that contains instant speed explore is offensive.

  24. Well, definitely good with 141. Mill effect doesn't matter but whatever.
  25. Infinite support. Honestly I don't want to suggest much because I'd prefer to see this how you envision it. Your ideas are pretty insane, and diluting them would be an injustice.
