  1. Gotta keep the trend going to its completion I suppose. If you like projectiles we got the right genderbent historical figure for you.
  2. Swords are known to be cool as the kids would say.
  3. Dunno how I missed this here question. And boy what a question it is. Been a while since I played a Fire Emblem game but the ones that persist through the dust of the years are probs the answer as they've left more of an impact. So one contender is definitely Joshua and L'arachel in Sacred Stones. The unlikely duo starts out awkward as you might expect but you see Joshua putting up with the crazy girl's eccentric ways and then she starts getting influenced by his shadier ways and it made for an overall wild ride. Another one up there is Haar and Jill in Path of Radiance. The two share history and already have a dynamic prior to recruiting both of them. It was great for me to have the wyvern riding duo be able to go anywhere and wreck foes together and then have a real relationship together. I tend to flip flop on my feelings on the romantics tones it eventually takes. Now if that was purely a Radiant Dawn thing or not I can't recall but knowing the support conversations in Radiant Dawn I'm inclined to think it was a radiance thing too. They're cute together but like he was friends with her dad so so how weird it feels is something you gotta come to terms with to enjoy that part of things. Think the idea behind Haar and Jill applies to a lot of support pairs that have prior history. I like exploring their dynamics outside their introductions and talks right after. So stuff like Tana and Eirika, Neimi and Colm and the like have their foot in the door with me already. Not that unlikely pairs can't be amazing as shown by my first example. Despite being a dirty memer I don't think I tend to like the support conversations that are largely jokes from just the character tropes. Examples are escaping me but I'm sure you'll have a few of things like that in mind. They can be fun but I want some real emotional depth to things usually. Ships are serious business.
  4. With Keres' singular word instruction of wagon, Reinaan trained his sight on the two gnolls that had been going after her. He began running and with the strength of his longer and larger legs found himself able to leap up over the side of the thing to join the two gnolls. In the same motion he rammed the spear end of his halberd into the right of the two's chest, though from the movement it wasn't an amazingly clean hit. Still, neither gnoll seemed to realize he was there despite the attack. It took a second but it clicked for the boy that Keres had cast her illusion magic on them which was perfect. There wasn't a lot of room to work with given the vegetables and three of them standing in the space. While pulling his weapon out of the gnoll he back handed its face with his left hand, knocking it over in the process. The enemy was then in the perfect spot as the boy stabbed down with his halberd, piercing the thing's neck and ending its life. However, the other creature seemed to have snapped out of the illusions and took note of Reinaan killing his comrade. The gnoll that hadn't run away from Ziiyol's appearance had finally braved the flames and climbed up to the back of the wagon as well. "Hm?" the spirit pondered audibly while looking at her dance floor. Slowly her twirling came to a stop as she began to pout. "Fine, don't burn then." Ziiyol complained as she started drifting to the side of the wagon to watch her partner in action. "Go Reiny!" she called to ears that were far from paying attention to her at the moment. Reinaan had prepared his halberd again to stab at the gnoll who had broken free of Keres' magic. Despite the close quarters the creature still managed to dodge and swing his axe down on the weapon to knock it out of the boy's hands. Instead of fight it the Draken let the weapon fall to the wagon floor and tackled the gnoll, his claws lashing at the thing's face. The maneuver knocked the gnoll over but it was still in a position to put up a fight as it bit into Reinaan's shoulder. Hissing in response the boy began anew a proven effective method of killing the beasts. Both hands found themselves wrapped around it's neck as they struggled on the floor. Shortly the reptile's appendages were digging through the outer layers of flesh and piercing to the inner throat. The gnoll's strength faded quickly as its blood began pouring out through the several wounds. It relinquished the clamp of its bite as its life bled out. Even in this position Reinaan could tell the third and last gnoll in the wagon was approaching. With the gnoll he was tumbling with dying he pulled his claws out of its neck and rolled off the body to reach for his fallen halberd. This he managed to grab in time to ready the spear for the approaching gnoll. This hyena man was hunched forward readying its axe but was met with a spear plunged into its face. Despite this, the gnoll managed to throw its axe with incredible skill, landing a decent slash into the Fire Chosen's chest. Reinaan winced in the pain but would later imagine it probably should have lodged itself into his rib cage without the amulet. Despite the pain of a few injuries and the fatigue of struggling with so many gnolls back to back he managed to bring himself to his feet and began pushing the halberd deeper into the gnolls face. It wouldn't be able to fight the Draken's strength long and it passed quickly. Reinaan stood for a moment, leaning on his halberd to keep from hunching over. His breath was ragged. He couldn't bring himself to scan the battlefield immediately. But then it crossed his mind: Keres. All of these gnolls had been going for her and he hadn't as yet confirmed if she was okay past her yelling wagon to him before. Reinaan turned himself about and walked toward the opposite end of the wagon. As his foot reached the edge he tripped over himself and face planted out onto the ground below with a thud. "Uggghhhh" he groaned as he pushed himself up and back up onto his feet slowly. Dirt now covered the parts of his body that had been splattered with either his own or gnoll blood. And he'd been so shiny too. Well, at least parts of his tail had kept the polish job pretty well in place. And he did have more of the stuff to pretty himself up again in the future. Shaking himself a bit to see if he couldn't dislodge some of the dirt, Reinaan looked and locked his sight on Keres who seemed very much uninjured to him. But then maybe he wasn't seeing straight. "Hey..." he addressed the Water Chosen, still gasping for breath a bit. A moment passed and the breaths eased up some allowing him to continue. "You... okay?" he asked while somehow managing a smile.
  5. Ain't done much in the way of making cards in quite a few years. But at least at the start it was just characters from games i really liked at the time like Smash Bros and Fire Emblem. Really bad design and usually in game screenshots for pics, ya know how it goes. Anime stuff got made, particularly Bleach and Shaman King the latter of which i shamelessly ripped off a gimmick for from some other guy's cards I saw on YCM so that was fun. Eventually I had a fairly big not based on anything project of warrior-types all named after a different letter of the greek alphabet. Wasn't much focus in the design to make it a functional deck and all the arts were super generic anime sword peeps you'd find off google but it felt good to do. Last real thing I ever attempted was actual archetype cohesion with a buncha latin named doggos but didn't ever finish it.
  6. So this ain't particularly ordered but: -Nero -Anastasia -Mordred -Hessian Lobo So there's four of the requested five. Nero and Anastasia are my Fate waifus so they had to be around. Mordred is for her part in apoc and dynamic with her master and the overall package there made her one of my favorites ever and then I rolled her on fgo and she's been doing good work. Hessian is a mandatory meme entry as the big doggo is part of why I got into the gacha hell. The fifth spot is a bit harder but it likely goes to Iskander but there's a few that could take the spot from him. In line with that sentiment 5th spot candidates: Iskander, Artoria, Da Vinci, Bedivere, and Fran. Probably more I could mention there but that seems about right.
  7. No dogs here sir. They're too excitable and often scare the other fish. You suck, 0/10 would grill and enjoy as a delicious dinner. Good friend, would recommend. Lezz see good ol' Chosen huh. It's, I believe, the longest I've been in a single RP uninterrupted. No in fact with the uninterrupted qualifier it definitely is the longest. Been a fun, if a slow and death filled, ride. We tend to stagnate on down time where character interaction memes should be happening so not quite as many interpersonal memes between the cast yet as I'd like but still a lot of silly stuff has happened and you've put up with a lot of silly stuff on my end too. I dunno how ya did it but you've got my attention on it for years already and probably years to come.
  8. Hi hey hello I don't hardly exist here outside RP so this be place to ask questions or seek opinions. Or just come watch the fish if you're into that. Don't expect a lot if you just ask for opinions on yourself. I ain't looking to write essays even on the peeps I do know.
  9. Reinaan had two of the gnoll fighters coming at his front from two different angles. Spears were readied and forward, looking to skewer the boy's chest from both sides. In an attempt to not get caught in the middle of this the Draken took a large step to the right and wound the halberd behind his back. With a full swing he aimed to take the right of the two gnoll's head clean off but the beastman was fast enough that the blade of the axe missed, instead having Reinaan slam the shaft of his weapon into its neck. This blow was still fierce enough to knock the gnoll off to the side. With it's throat injured it struggled to breathe let alone stand for a moment. However the other gnoll was still on target and managed to just barely pierce the Fire Chosen's side with the tip of its spear. It seemed the amulet the boy had bought was proving helpful after all, or else the creature just wasn't very strong. But still, it wasn't a pleasant feeling as the draken's body twitched at the wound. "You wanna play, huh?" the reptile more snarled than spoke to the gnoll as he relinquished one his hand's grips on his halbered and grasped his assailant by the neck. Reinaan began squeezing with all his strength as the gnoll in kind attempted to deepen the wound of his spear. However the draken won and soon the boy's claws pierced the flesh and began digging into the insides of the thing's throat. As it struggled in pain the Fire Chosen inhaled deeply and blasted a stream of fire right in the thing's face for a few seconds, thoroughly charring its face and, combined with the neck injuries, took its life. The gnoll that had received the blow to the neck meanwhile was rushing in again but it was clearly in no condition to continue the battle. Its strike was poorly placed and its spear merely glanced off of Reinaan's scales. The boy released the enemy he'd just killed to turn his focus here while also ripping the spear from out of his side. At the same time his other hand was choking up on his halberd. With a swift strike downward the axe struck into the gnolls shoulder and lobbed the arm clean off. With the injuries it had sustained, the creature made no resistance as Reinaan plunged the spear end of his halberd into his chest, piercing the heart or close enough to it. The gnoll fell to the earth dead. With blood near covering him, Reinaan took another moment to just breathe from the exertions of fighting off these waves of gnolls. Things were still going on around him but it was already clear what he needed to do next. Keres only had him nearby enough to help and there were still four gnolls close to her. The moments of collecting himself seemed to drag out for ages in his mind under the adrenaline of the situation but he soon readied his halberd in both hands and turned himself about to run off to the Water Chosen's aid. "That's right! Dance with me!" Ziiyol meanwhile called out as the hesitant gnolls attempted to avoid her flames and discern their source. Creatures and their fear of fire ever fascinated her and so a brilliant new idea came into her mind. With another burst of flame she made herself visible to even the gnolls, wondering how they might react to more fire and her appearance in general. Still her dance continued as flames flew off of her fans out in front of her.
  10. Reinaan raised his weapon, ready for the one-eyed gnoll's attack, only to be caught slightly off guard himself by Pyrrha's arrow that hit the gnoll. It distracted its attack on the boy but ultimately did little damage to him while the wind chosen suddenly disappeared from sight. Reinaan would later catch a glimpse of her closer to Ryia but he didn't have the time to spend mental energy understanding her powers. The previously injured gnoll, still bleeding quite a bit from the neck, was scrambling on the ground toward him. There would be little time to read to the metal end of his weapon so instead the Draken slammed the end of the staff into the creature's back, pinning into the ground. With a quick spin around he then plunged the tip of the spear into the creature's back. It would cease moving soon after and prove to be only a threat to anyone directly on top of it while it bled out slowly on the ground. The one-eyed gnoll meanwhile was ready to attack and swung his axe at the fire chosen. However, the attack fell short, perhaps the one eye affecting his depth perception. Reinaan pulled his halberd out of the grounded creature's corpse and swing it horizontally to dig the axe into his assailant's side. The strike was slow enough the creature had time to move but not entirely out of the way. The shaft still hit its side, an audible snap indicating Reinaan's strength and the durability of feywood had managed to break a bone. The gnoll was stunned from the pain, giving Reinaan enough time to retract his weapon and plunge the spear point into the thing's neck as another shower of blood rained down on his face as a result. Still he wanted to look this thing in the eye as it died and send it off to the afterlife with a fear of Draken carved deeply into its soul. "This thing's working wonders" a thought drifted through Reinaan's mind in relation to his new weapon. The length and versatility of it were proving very helpful with so many attackers. In the midst of the adrenaline of battle his body paused a moment to simply breathe and stop thinking. Two more gnolls were on his way and his attention would soon snap back as they readied their weapons. Ziiyol meanwhile had made her way closer to Keres with the thought of burning gnolls still dominating her mind. In fact, it seemed much more appealing than being close to a water spirit and she imagined trying to burn the one inside the wagon with the girl would be very helpful. Fire had a tendency to burn everything, friend or foe. And so she made her way to the front of the cart where another gnoll stood close by with two others still approaching, having been slowed by the onslaught of vegetables earlier. "Now then, dance among the flames for me!" the spirit spoke joyfully as she readied her fans and began twirling about in the air. Bits of fire would form on the ends of the fans and fly about in all directions before her. To the gnolls they would simply see fire forming from the air itself and falling around them as Ziiyol had not made herself visible to them. Hopefully at least one of them would catch fire. It was all the spirit could hope for.
  11. With his second bolt ready, Reinaan fired quickly on the gnolls as they began their charge. With his first target staggering he turned to the other three most immediately approaching him and fired on the right most. The bolt sailed through the air and into the gnoll's face, halting its advance on the spot as it howled in pain and bled profusely. That still left two more coming up quick to which the Draken dropped his crossbow behind him and readied his new halberd which had been leaning against him as he'd fired for quick access. The center gnoll was closest and Reinaan felt no need to give his enemy a chance to attack. He swung the length of his weapon, the axe portion on a collision course for the gnoll's neck. The creature raised his spear to defend but the strength of the would-be-Dragon crushed through it and lodged the blade cleaning in between the shoulder and neck. The left most gnoll had kept moving as this initial engagement played out and readied his spear to stab at the boy's side. The Fire Chosen however was ready to keep brute forcing solutions and so use the leverage of his halberd still in the first gnoll's neck to push the beast into his comrade. The two collided, the uninjured one pushing the other off which fell to the ground from the injury after Reinaan had retracted the weapon. The still standing gnoll went in for a straight on stab but Reinaan too possessed a spear at the end of his weapon and outranged this hyena's attack, the tip plunging into the center of the creature's chest. The now also seriously injured gnoll attempted to ready his spear to throw it at the boy with the length of the halberd as the only distance to gather. Despite the injury it stood somewhat firm but the Draken managed to drag it to the ground after twisting the weapon to aggravate the injury. The gnoll attempted to grab it out of instinct but Reinaan kept pushing it in deeper as he approached and stepped on it with one foot. A bit more twisted and pushing and the creature gave up the fight and succumbed to the wound. Reinaan pulled his weapon out and scanned the area. There were so many enemies it would be hard to focus. The boy's nude form was already splashed several times over with blood from the first two gnolls. Maybe he'd actually be a proper red Draken after this. The gnoll injured by the second bolt would become the next immediate priority. The bolt had apparently hit one of its eyes as it was bleeding greatly from one socket and the eye looked horrible. It brandished its axe as Reinaan readied himself to engage again. "Ziiyol," he said, his spirit appearing behind him in a puff of flames though keeping herself visible to only the Chosen. "Go to Keres until I call you back over." he gave his simple order which he hoped would be obeyed quickly. "Of course Reiny." she said with a smile as she drifted off to the Water Chosen's side. Oh how she hoped to find out how well gnolls burned.
  12. Reinaan had been on guard from the moment they'd first encountered dead bodies. And yet he hadn't noticed the sheer numbers of gnolls that were beginning to surround them as they came to the farm they'd set out for. Curiosities like the abandoned wagons and provisions and a trail of blood. But there the group was, staring down twenty of these strange dogman creatures. The young Draken had never encountered anything like them but the weapons and the way they moved spoke well enough to their desire to fight. The boy readied his halberd he'd bought in town and with his amulet in place about his neck he... still didn't feel ready to handle this many. That was when Lindow approached him with a crossbow and a proposal both of which he accepted as he lowered his new weapon to accept the ranged one. "Just remember dragons are the very top." he quipped back, teasing his friend to relieve his own nerves for the situation. He wasn't about to be hunted, not a by a long shot. He prepared his first bolt and took aim on the nearest enemy, the same that Ryia had fired on and missed. The boy trained his eye for a moment, remembering from the battle in the desert how these things operated and how the bolts traveled. He saw his chance and fired, lodging the bolt well into the creature's chest, though not downing it. Had it been a headshot maybe but this was fine. Every injury before they got up close the better. He began immediately readying his second bolt. With only four more on hand without returning the mule he fully intended to use what he had then move to the front line to assure the monsters didn't reach the others.
  13. Reinaan stood, any movement still scattering reflections about from his polished body, having gathered Kloqah's reigns. As he did so Pyrrha emerged from the bar to confirm that Damien was essentially incapacitated. Between the two swordsmen the boy had to wonder what the appeal of alcohol was but he didn't ponder it long. Lindow expressed a positive sentiment after Ryia went in to inform Damien of what they intended to do. How well the man would recall this information in his current state was anyone's guess. More important was the idea of Geoff's competence in battle. Lindow wondered aloud hopefully that he might surprise them. As they began walking back Keres of all people expressed a similar sentiment stating one travelling alone must be fairly strong. As he knew hardly anything about the buffalo chosen, the draken found it hard to object to either statement and instead focused on leading Kloqah with the soon to be sleeping Lindow aboard her. Geoff's buffalo was first to notice their arrival, the man himself only stirring as his mount did. Reinaan groaned a bit to himself. When Ziiyol had first appeared to him the boy had been caught up in imagining all the epic and heroic moments the band of Chosen would have. And while they'd had some very intense battles thus far, he'd never thought they'd deal with so many strange characters along the way. Ultimately, as long the buffalo rider didn't endanger anyone in the group, the boy supposed he could tolerate having him around. On the idea of keeping everyone safe, the Fire Chosen, who had to go on foot this time while Lindow slept off his drinks, kept to the rear of the group, never letting Keres out of his sight. He wasn't about to have a repeat of the bee attack. An added bonus Reinaan wasn't even conscious of was that unless the others looked directly behind them, he wasn't likely to blind them with his scales. As time went on he could tell the exertion was tiring the Water Chosen yet she didn't complain. And given interacting with the girl seemed only to stress her, he felt it best to not prod. She'd ask for help if she needed it, surely. What was more immediately concerning was the state of the road. "What happened here..." the boy muttered to himself as he stopped to examine one of the bodies. He was almost more fascinated than immediately horrified. These were people yes but he wanted to know more about what had happened. What predators left behind could tell a lot about them. Unless it was just people killing people, then he doubted he'd be able to gather much. The boy crouched down over one to get a better look. Immediately clear was the temperature. The body was cold to the touch. The cause of death was a well placed arrow based off the broken wooden shaft protruding from where Reinaan assumed human hearts were. But the body hadn't started to rot yet. This attack wasn't recent but it couldn't have been more than a few days old. The group decided to stop as they were still some time out from their destination and the draken hardly listened as Geoff puffed up his ego. "We shouldn't stay here for long." Reinaan spoke to the general group, more particularly his fellow Chosen. He didn't trust the place after his observations. To prepare he produced his new weapon from off Kloqah's back and held onto it with his right hand while the other kept the lead for his mount. "Catch your breath but we need to keep moving." he added, already wondering how well the group would be able to keep going. Keres was the most immediate worry on that end. They didn't have much in the way of available mounts for her past Geoff's, and that was assuming it had any room after his boisterous self. Lindow waking up soon would be helpful in a number of ways.
  14. Reinaan squinted at Lindow's comments about alcohol. This was just like the adults in his village when they drank. They said and did silly things. Not that it was out of line for the Thunder Chosen to joke with him but it just felt weird and different. It seemed to him very unlikely that any drink could kill, blind or impregnate a person. But then it was plant based. Maybe Lindow was on to something. However the man wasn't done as he continued rambling about other risks involved and eventually lost track of what he was saying and devolved into telling from other times he'd gotten drunk. A bit of a nasty cycle all of this seemed. The draken didn't say much, simply humoring his friend wondering how long it took this stuff to wear off. Thankfully Ryia and Keres' arrival gave the boy someone else to interact with. Though the Earth Chosen seemed particularly incapable of speaking for some reason. So much so that the Water Chosen for once spoke up and clarified. "Accompany us? That idiot?" Reinaan questioned aloud, thinking the girls were playing a trick on him. He wasn't particularly fond on the idea of watching someone else die and doubted the man's abilities in the utmost after his so-called magic display. He watched as Keres looked into the bar before commenting on Damien's condition. No doubt he was even more out of his mind than Lindow. The reptilian chosen let out a sigh before continuing. "I don't see much point to waiting. Guess Damien can sit this one out." he stated to the group, looking for their thoughts on the matter. It was a matter of weighing what annoyed him more. Damien he distrusted more but at least the man had already proven himself capable of combat. Geoff he doubted could hold his own and was obnoxious to listen to but seemed to have no ulterior motives. Either choice felt like a loss for the Draken so getting on with things sooner rather than later felt better. Reinaan shifted his weight from the waiting stance he'd taken while listening to LIndow to get ready to walk. The boy then bent over searching for the end of Kloqah's reigns, the movement casting momentary glares of reflected sunlight in nearly all directions.
  15. Lindow's request caused Reinaan to reexamine him. Something was definitely off about him. He was trying to think what might be the issue. The only thing he could think of was how some of the adults in his village would get after having some of a certain drink he'd yet to have. For one it was claimed to be made from plants so that alone disgusted him but it was also because he hadn't proven himself a man yet to the village and they kept alcohol from children. Humans probably had less rules around the stuff then if the Thunder Chosen had been partaking. Regardless, Reinaan didn't mind offering his friend a ride though Kloqah seemed resistant. With a little persuasion from her small lizard rider she let the buzzed man onto her back. She wasn't going to be happy about it but she'd do it and that was enough. As they began moving away from the ridiculous Chosen of Buffalo Pyrrha asked a question concerning minotaurs and the woman's request. Reinaan wasn't an expert but he had some ideas. "Well, we encountered some monsters that got worked up just 'cuz they sensed magic in Keres. And Hannah was here earlier so maybe she pissed em off without even realizing." The young Draken began offering in explanation. Really this was just an excuse to blame the council for everything. "But it could be... the demon gate's influencing them." he continued, shuddering at the memory of what proximity to a gate had done of the sand sharks. What supposed cow-people hybrids might become around one was not something he wanted to experience. After a bit more walking about the group had found Damien in a bar that was crawling with non-humans. It seemed strange to find in the middle of a human city but then this city had a little bit of everything it was so big. Reinaan did little more than peer into the door with Pyrrha before stepping back outside. He figured it best to stay with the less than sober Lindow outside the establishment that served alcohol. "So... what's the drink like?" Reinaan asked of the witch hunter atop his mount while they waited. He lacked the proper phrasing no doubt. Sounding dumb would be annoying but at least it was with someone who wasn't all there at the moment. It was mostly small talk anyway. He kept his eyes scanning the area and caught sight of Keres and Ryia bringing up the rear of the group. It was good they hadn't gotten lost. And no sign of the idiot fake Chosen either. No doubt off saving the world, two hundred menial chore requests at a time.
  16. Reinaan stood staring at the so-called Chosen of buffalo as he put on his display. A coincidental gust and a sound from the beast at his command and that was what was supposed to convince people? When the Draken had heard there was a Chosen impersonator his first thought was some at least semi-talented mage who could do enough to persuade people they were who they claimed they were. But this? People were buying this? Were humans just stupid? Reinaan looked hesitantly to Keres, Ryia and Lindow in turn trying to make sure they weren't actually convinced so he could prove that idea wrong. Resisting the urge to throw this buffalo riding idiot to the nearest wall, the boy remembered Lindow felt it best to keep their actual identities hidden away for all this and so he would continue with it. That said, the woman's request couldn't be trusted to this man. And the reptilian Chosen doubted the other two hundred seventy nine requests were going to fare any better. "You know..." he began addressing the man, shaking a bit trying to hold back some verbal venom. "It sounds like you're reaaally busy. So maybe we should just take this one and let you get to those other hundreds of people. Wouldn't want to keep everyone waiting." Reinaan said while pulling Kloqah slightly ahead with him. He wanted nothing more than to just get a move on. If he lingered much longer he was fairly certain the buffalo-rider would say something that would set him off. He didn't like the idea of there being an impersonator but so long as he wasn't hurting or taking advantage of people it was tolerable to leave him alone, just so long as they didn't have to be anywhere near him.
  17. As the trio of Chosen continued moving about town it wasn't all that long before they reunited with Keres and Ryia who had been going shopping for food. The Earth Chosen's questions made Reinaan wonder for a moment if either of them had been able to shop for actual equipment themselves yet. Well, there were plenty of shops along the way so maybe they'd find stuff as the group went about. Keres however seemed more concered with the Draken, asking what had happened to him. It seemed only Pyrrha was going to be appreciating the new look but that wasn't going to stop him from putting on a smile and twisting about in place to show off that his back, tail, and ever bit of him was just as shiny as the last. "Just thought I'd dress up for once." Reinaan said, knowing full well he still entirely naked. Though he wasn't sure this kind of humor would register with Keres. Lindow sure, but the girl was usually on task and serious about most things that he couldn't be certain she even knew what a joke was. So he was sure to follow up with the actual explanation of having his scales polished in town while he was shopping. After everyone was filled in on this other Chosen running around they moved together to go about finding him. Eventually they caught sight of a man and a beast, presumably his mount by the wall of the city. Reinaan held back approaching the man, thinking he might get mad and attack him if he claimed to be a Chosen to his face. He figured Lindow had a plan for this sort of thing but it was Ryia that stepped forward and began speaking for the group. "The Chosen... of buffalo?" Reinaan muttered in disbelief at the man's declaration. Already the boy found himself wanting to hurt this man. That anyone believed he was a Chosen with the self proclaimed element of buffalo was beyond him. Thankfully Pyrrha had the right idea. A demonstration of his magic was the perfect thing. "Don't forget run faster than lightning and wrestle dragons." he added to Pyrrha's list as he stood up straight and attempted flexing most of his upper body and arm muscles as if inviting the so-called Chosen to prove the last part of the list immediately.
  18. "Wrestle dragons huh?" Reinaan wondered aloud to his fellow Chosen once the woman had departed them. She seemed really nice. Why the boy thought that he wasn't certain but he'd unconsciously registered the emotions behind the the smile she'd given him. "Makes me wonder where these people get their information. Unless you've getting up to some crazy stuff without us Lindow." the boy shot the Thunder Chosen another smirk. If anyone was going to outrun lightning in the group it only seemed right it would be the Chosen of Thunder with Light and Dark powers to boot. "Guess we should find this guy. I don't like the idea of someone taking advantage of people off our name and reputation." he said with a huff. The boy got Kloqah back up to her feet as the lizard had decided to relax a bit while the group chatted away. He didn't feel as pressing a need to meet up wtih Ryia and Keres as to find the faker. There was some sense of indignation about being impersonated, even if only in title, and he needed to act on it. How to go about searching a town like this the young Draken had little actual idea. It seemed like anywhere he went he might trip over more humans. If that's what it took to find the Chosen guy he'd trip over as many people as possible. That said he did have two others with him who were likely much more accustomed to these sorts of places. "Soooo... how do we find one guy, in all of this?" Reinaan asked as ever more new faces passed in and out of his vision around them.
  19. Fire and Thunder Chosen alike seemed less impressed with the appearance of the other than they had been anticipating. Where Pyrrha appreciated his scales, Lindow seemed not to like it. Or maybe the particular angle was just enough to blind him with sunlight. Still, Reinaan mostly understood the man's ideas about not having bought more weapons. He preferred to take weapons that had been tried and proved in the heat of battle over purchasing freshly made ones. The Draken himself didn't quite resonate with the sentiment but it jived perfectly with what he knew about Lindow as a person. Though the man seemed a bit looser with his lips than usual. Normally he would have had some small comments to make to explain himself then likely turned it back on the boy with a question. "Another Chosen?" Reinaan began thinking as Lindow explained what he'd learned at the pub. "Probably the council doing something stupid to mess with us some more." his thoughts continued. He was going to be blaming the council for a lot of anything that happened as a first response for a while yet. Before this could spiral into blaming the council for the last time he stubbed his toe, Reinaan shifted attention to the woman who interrupted Lindow and explained that her husband was among those who had disappeared. She wanted this man claiming to be a Chosen to help her if at all possible. Lindow seemed to be looking for a map from either Pyrrha or Reinaan and the boy managed to produce one from one of Kloqah's bags for the marking to take place. Lindow sounded like he was really intent on passing this request off to the fake Chosen which confused the Draken for a moment. "But couldn't we handle it?" he asked. "I mean we're the-" he started before realizing what Lindow had been trying to do. For whatever reason he didn't trust the woman enough to reveal their identities as the actual Chosen. This left him mid-sentence saying they were the Chosen and very little time to try and recover. "W-we're the best adventurers out there." came the the first lie he could think of without any of his usual energy for such a bold statement. "B-but maybe you're right. The Chosen should probably look into stuff like this." Reinaan said a bit sheepishly and hoping that he hadn't raised suspicion. He really didn't want to frustrate Lindow by messing with his plans even if he hadn't been informed of them.
  20. Pyrrha's continued comments on how nice his scales looked had Reinaan pretty buttered up as the duo continued moving about the town in search of the others. The shiny natural armor caught the attention of many merchants as well, many selling non-magical jewelry or lavish clothing to compliment his looks. The offers were tempting at points but even with his rudimentary understanding of economics the boy knew he'd dropped a fair bit of gold on the amulet about his neck and didn't think he needed to go spending on things that served no purpose past looking pretty. Still, some of it looked really cool and the Draken could feel himself beginning to reach for more gold before simply pressing on. "So I guess Ryia and Keres would be wherever they're selling food. I wonder where Lindow or Damien went..." the boy wondered aloud. He wasn't expecting Pyrrha to know much more than he did it just helped to speak the thought. Looking behind him he caught sight of Ziiyol, her eyes still fixed on his glimmering scales, as well as Kloqah who he was leading by the reigns. The mount seemed more annoyed than enraptured by the smaller lizard's shinier appearance and was looking to one side or the other, huffing every so often. He was about to turn his attention back forward before something crossed the corner of his eye. It was something familiar yet looked different. He turned about and saw the Thunder Chosen moving about. His clothing was different and his movement wasn't quite as composed as the boy was used to from the witch hunter. But whatever the changes of appearance he couldn't mistake the face. "Heeeey! Lindow!" he called out happily before jogging off toward his friend. He waved Pyrrha on to follow him figuring it best to keep everyone together. He finally got a better look at the man and got to see the details of the armor he had on. It wasn't bad. Reinaan wouldn't have worn it himself but it looked good enough on Lindow. However it soon clicked that he could actually see any of the armor. "Aww," he started somewhat disappointed, "I thought you'd have more new swords." he said with a sly grin at the end.
  21. Reinaan simply nodded as Keres stated her relationship to Hannah. The woman had apparently been her teacher at the mage tower in the past and young Keres didn't appreciate her particular teaching style. He would keep it in mind for if they ever encountered her again. He didn't want the Water Chosen to have to talk to her anymore than she wanted to. He strongly doubted the council mages were more forgiving of behavior they deemed inappropriate than his fellow Draken had been with him. The boy's thoughts were interrupted by Hannah assaulting Lindow and holding him down to the ground. That she had this much force was astounding. But before Reinaan could process the information and ready to attack the woman she left with her guard. With many questions still in the air after the encounter, the Draken ultimately agreed with Lindow's urging them to get inside the town. The Fire Chosen was met with a scene he'd never really encountered before. There were so many humans all in one place, and so many different stores to go about and purchase things. Reinaan understood how purchasing things functioned but his experience was severely lacking. What deals his village had had with the nearest human settlement had been seen to by a select few of the stronger, older men and as such it was a duty that was never expected to fall to him given his stature. Still that wasn't going to stop him from getting some really cool equipment while he was here. He grabbed a hearty share of the party's gold, uncertain as to how much he would need. Lindow had moved off quickly to check over all the stores, a plan of action he intended to follow. Ryia had graciously offered to go food shopping for the group. With any luck the new Wind Chosen would accompany her. The boy didn't really want to leave her alone but also certainly didn't want to be the one left with her. He relocated some of what Kloqah had been hauling to the mule to prepare for his new purchases and began leading the mount through town. The young Draken had been initially uncertain how to act in this larger human settlement, but he soon found it to be quite like moving through the smaller ones. There were many more people and things to catch his eye true, but few people seemed to think anything of his or Kloqah's being there. Some looked twice briefly, no doubt used to any Draken in town being covered in Templar armor, but to them he was simply just another member of the crowd. It felt almost relieving. But then it got frustrating as he wanted to stand out. He wanted people to see him and be impressed. No doubt he'd need the extra foot to make it a reality. Reinaan's first thought was a new weapon. His trusty spear had held up thus far but memories of the undead creatures snapping through javelins in the underground made him think it necessary to get something a bit stronger. He was feeling stronger now too so the idea of a weapon with more heft and weight to it sounded appealing. His eyes took him to an impressive looking store lined with an arrangement of different bladed tools. With his experience being mostly in spears, he ignored the sword display and took a moment to chuckle to himself over guessing how many swords Lindow would return to the group with. An image of the Thunder Chosen unable to move due to the sheer number of blades falling off of him was amusing to say the least. But eventually his search brought him to pole arms. In particular the halberds caught his attention. The were something of a spear and an ax. They seemed longer and heavier than his spear which brought with it the feeling of being more sturdy as well. "I see you got yer eyes on my halberds." the store owner said from his seat. Reinaan nodded before the man pointed to some in particular. "Those on the end there will never break on ya. But they'll run ya a pretty penny." he commented. The Draken had never encountered the metal the supposed unbreakable weapons were before but he thought he'd heard the name once from the elders. Ada-something or other. He noticed a variety of less expensive steel halberds of varying quality. Though some of the staffs were made of wood which was curious to him. It was lighter than the fully metal weapons and the shop owner spoke of Feywood, a substance lighter than but also stronger than steel. After holding one in both hands and moving it about a bit, the boy settled on the feywood and was delighted to pack his new weapon onto Kloqah's back upon purchasing it. Reinaan continued moving about the market and soon came to an armor shop. Something had caught his eye. Something incredible. Something that made the boy consider actually wearing armor forever. It was a decadent silver armor set, with rubies laid into the metal work. The shine of the metal, the brilliance of the gems, this was everything the boy could have asked for in his life. But alas, his heart was crushed as the shop owner came to meet his obvious enthusiasm. Ten thousand gold it was for the whole of it. The Draken wasn't incredible with math but he knew very well that the group's entire gold fund couldn't have afforded it. He swore one day he would return, but while he was there he began thinking about something else. The mage that had healed him mentioned armor could have helped him take the burn better. The idea of gauntlets came to mind. However, none of the available sets really worked with the size and shape of his hand. They were meant for humans obviously. He could make something work but he'd be covering his claws which seemed foolish for one so used to fighting tooth and nail. The awkwardness didn't seem worth it and the boy decided in frustration that his scales would be enough for him. He did however also purchase a sharpening tool to keep the weapon in good condition. No doubt Lindow's army of swords would find it useful too. As the boy continued moving about town a man called out to him. Well, at least it seemed like him. There was prolonged eye contact and the Draken had to wonder if he was perhaps looking at someone behind him. After pointing to himself the man only nodded energetically and so Reinaan knew it was in fact him he'd been trying to get the attention of. "Hello dear Draken!" the man greeted him enthusiastically. "I couldn't help but notice the striking color of your scales. And I thought to myself, why that black would look amazing if only it shone a little more." he continued. Reinaan was still unsure of what was happening. "Please you must try my product, it will make you shine like the sun itself! Your white will be blinding! Your red fierce! And your black mysterious!" the man said with his excitement building as he tried ushering the boy to a stool. Something about the energy captivated him. "Let's do it." Reinaan agreed initially. "But uh... maybe can I see a test first?" he said after realizing he still had no idea what was about to happen. The man heartily agreed as he opened a jar and scooped a substance out of it that appeared to reflect light rather well. He applied a bit of it to the back of one of Reinaan's hands before using a wrag to spread it evenly across the surface. So far it only seemed like his hand was wet and the boy was uncertain if he was buying into all of this. But the man continued and produced a much finer looking cloth which he began rubbing the affected hand with in repeated circular motions. Then another cloth was produced that he held in both hands and began rubbing across the hand back and forth very vigorously. Before the boy's eyes his black scales caught the sunlight like they never had before, giving him a near mirror finish. He could see very subtle traces of color amidst the sea of black. Red and white pigment that had been snuffed out. It was incredible. "Wooooaaaahhhh" Reinaan said in awe of the difference in the two sides of his hand. "Can... can you do me all over?" he said, wanting very much to look like this entirely and all the time. The man's smile spread from ear to ear at the request and so the Draken sat at the provided stool, standing up when the occasion called for it, letting this man polish every square inch of his body. The two spoke some about their pasts. The man mentioned he used to know of a small Draken village somewhere and with the Templar presence here and there across the world he often wondered what their scales might like look if thoroughly polished. He had started trying to sell this service here but very few Templar were interested in such a purely cosmetic thing. How delightful then to see a Draken so shamelessly displaying each and every scale. With Reinaan's patronage his faith in the business decision had been restored, perhaps a bit more than it ought to have. Upon completion, the Draken reflected brilliantly from top to bottom. Reinaan joyfully paid the man for the service and a hearty amount of the polish and supplies needed so that he could keep it up in the future. "I can't wait til the others see me!" he said gleefully as he practically skipped off to the rest of the market. Ziiyol appeared at his side, only visible to the Chosen, and could only squeal with delight at the sight of her partner sparkling so radiantly. "Reiny..." she managed to say while practically in a trance. "You're so..." and the spirit couldn't complete her thought and simply continued to stare, trying to take it all in. She confirmed that every part of his body shone the same way, wanting him to move his legs arms and tail about to let her see. After the two shared a laugh Reinaan focused enough to notice a stand full of things that somewhat resembled the bandit's amulet. "Ah, welcome. I can't say I've seen one so shine so bright before." the shop owner spoke, taking note of the polished scales. Reinaan was proud to be standing out now and inquired what was being sold. He was told these were all magical items with a variety of spells cast on them. Though he pointed to one in particular. One the man referred to as an Amulet of Protection that would strengthen natural armors such as his fine scales. The idea of keeping his scales intact appealed now more than ever and Reinaan inquired into the price. It sounded like a lot but not nearly so much as they had on them in total. Surely it would be okay given they didn't need the gold to eat. And this way he could be protected without buying dumb looking armor. It seemed like the perfect solution. And so he bought it, figuring it for the good of the party that he be able to take more hits. He put it on and was taken aback at how little it seemed to shine compared to his own body. He'd have to go into battle to see just how strong the enchantment was but he was happy with his purchases and began leading Kloqah away from the market in hopes of meeting up with the others somewhere when they were done shopping. With how shiny he was he was confident the others would find him before he noticed them.
