Octavia»»————- ♡ ————-«« "I'd start with a means to quell those, myself. A new police force or something. Once the city is back in order, rebuilding everything should be much easier, starting with the city's infrastructure." "Seems like a pointless starting place. All you'll do is get the gangs to oppose you immediately. They all have a stake in the city remaining orderless... And from what I saw, they'd probably work together to take down a police force. You might win in the long run, but it seems like a harder path." She ended her sentence with a bite of egg, letting the fork point over towards Natsumi as she did, "I think it would be easier to take over all the gangs." "There's no point in trying at all." Octavia paused mid-sip of her soup as she heard the quiet girl speak up, her brow raising for a moment as she considered that. She wasn't really a stranger to people being opposed to the idea of rebuilding Hearthome, after all, the gangs certainly weren't enthusiastic about the idea, but that was always something self-serving. They profited from the city being unruly, to say there was no point at all was something pretty new... To her at least. "She's got the right idea. What are we talkin' about?" Octavia let out a small snicker as Raijin appeared she shook her head gently, "Hearthome." She listened to Natsumi as the girl went on a little mini-speech about the importance of trying, a small snicker escaping her as she shook her head gently. "...Doing is great and all, but rushing into a plan won't help either. You bring in a shiny new police force and people are going to stick with the evil they know. The gangs are terrible, but they're familiar at this point. Who knows what a corrupt police force might try to enforce on them? And then there's the matter of where you get people for that police force... If they come from another place, the people in Hearthome won't trust them. They did nothing for us before, why should we think they would help us now?" She took a little look back over at Hotaru as she finished her sentence, before shrugging her shoulders lightly, "Maybe you're right, honestly. Maybe we can't fix the place, but it's my home. I'd hate to just abandon it entirely. Right now, I have nowhere else to go when this is all over."

With Cherry going for yet another pound, the Murkrow had flown at her, beak at the ready. With the two strikes colliding, it was clear that they were in pain, but the Murkrow had the advantage as the second had flown swiftly towards Cherry. As the Buneary was recovering from its attack, it tried to escape from pursuit of the Murkow, only for the bird to keep up and ram into Cherry. With the dark aura that surrounded the Murkrow discharging against the Buneary, Cherry was knocked away and clearly in pain as the two Murkrow flocked towards each other, making clearly mocking "cawing" noises towards them. "Darn cheating hecklers." Jacklyn grit her teeth as she grumbled at their two on one tactics, only to then have another idea pop into her head. As Cherry stood up, clearly beaten up and struggling to keep herself in the fight, Jacklyn shouted, "come over Cherry! Jump to me!" The Buneary cocked its head to the side, but seemed to be trusting in her partner, leaping towards Jacklyn. Seeing the Buneary trying to escape, one of the Murkrows charged up a dark aura of energy around it as it went to keep pursuit against Cherry. With a smile on her face, Jacklyn caught Cherry but seemed to only hold on with one hand as she reeled her arm back. "Alright Cherry, use Pound!" Like a baseball, Jacklyn pitched Cherry forward, feet first towards the charging Murkrow. Cherry, realizing this was an all too familiar feeling, stuck her feet out catching the surprised Murkrow off guard and striking it in the chest. The strike seemed to keep the bird going, only to strike into the wall and knock it out. With Cherry landing to the ground, she simply let out a victorious, "buuuu," leaving the other Murkrow confused but still diving after the Buneary to avenge his fallen bird comrade.

Time to get this started! I'm going to group each post by chapter, so chapter 1 will go up now, which includes the group before the first murder, the first murder, the trial and the first execution! I will post a chapter a day until either A) the killer is executed by trial or B) the killer kills everybody... Also, CowCow, I had to use your banner on your profile, for some reason, the simulator didn't want to use your avatar Group Before Murder Body Found Trial Trial Result

A Chapter in Life Quick-Play Spell Declare the name of 1 monster you control; take from your Deck or GY 1 Spell/Trap whose artwork clearly depicts the declared monster, and either add it to your hand, or Set it, and if it is a Trap or Quick-Play Spell, it can be activated this turn. You can only activate 1 "A Chapter in Life" per turn. Written card for now but I intend to find a suitable picture for the card. I may change the name too to fit with whatever image I find. As for how it works, to give an example, using this while you control "Wee Witch's Apprentice" would let you search for "Link Party" and "Packet Swap". An important ruling/clarification is that the monster should be recognizable in the artwork. If the monster in the artwork is blurry, hidden in a shadow, shown as a silhouette, or otherwise is ambiguous, or just implied to be there, then the card cannot be searched by this. For instance, "Breaking of the World" cannot be searched if you control "Demise, Supreme King of Armageddon", because only its eyes are shown in the art of the former. Another example is not being able to search "Gozen Match" while you control a Shi En monster, because Shi En in that artwork is obscured.

Time passed. It's what time did. Passed. And so that is what happened. Time moved on and, in that time, the people living in the past were pushed into the future, which was then known as the present, whether they wanted to be or not. Time stopped for no man. Nor woman. It doesn't discriminate. And so it was that a vague amount of hours later that the ship made its way into the atmosphere of the planet that would be their home for now. The Finback was much too large a vessel for normal landing procedures. And so the students would be put onto a smaller ship to make the decent to the school's private hanger. The Finback would be housed elsewhere and their mechs delivered to an underground bunker beneath the school. There was but one problem. The pilot has seemed to vanish. As it turned out a young boy, a new student, had visited the captain at some point and they had taken that chance to go off somewhere, leaving the inexperienced boy to try and pilot the large ship. Hence the rocky voyage through the asteroids. Finally they pilot was found, having fallen asleep in one of the beds for the students, and they were able to make their way down to the surface. As soon as they landed they were greeted by a large group of upperclassmen, with signs welcoming them, and congratulating them on not crashing. Evidently the last three years the ship had crashed into a building on its way down due to not being able to find the pilot. At the front of the group was a tall and stern looking woman. She introduced herself as the Vice Principal of MechA Cademy, Emilia Reichen. With a sharp and commanding voice she told the new students to follow her to the auditorium. Then led them into the castle-like building that was the school. The auditorium was large, likely much larger than necessary, with rows upon rows of chairs. Emilia directed everyone to sit as close to the front middle as they could and moved onto the stage. The chairs themselves were surprisingly comfortable and covered in what looked like a shag carpet cover. "Welcome, new students, to MechA Cademy. The finest school for mech training in the galaxy. I want you all to know that I expect the best from each and every one of you. We are the defenders of the galaxy and must always remember the weight that becoming a mech pilot has to it." She then smacked the podium she stood behind and her voice grew sharper and louder. "If any of you think for a moment you can slack off then you better leave right now. Because I can assure you that I will be evaluating you all at all times. All. Times." She gazed across the students for a while before nodding. "That being said I have brought a few of your upperclassmen here today to meet with you. They are the heads of the three Houses of the school. Houses are an optional group that you may attempt to join to help get through your school days. I suggest you put serious thought into whether or not you wish to join them." She stepped to the side and gestured to a trio that had been standing in the background. The first to step up was a girl wearing a jumpsuit with various pieces of military equipment attached. "My name is Kris Ward. Head of the Steel Hounds House. If you join my house you can expect to be worked hard in practice. We don't accept slackers. I intend to help every student that joins my house learn tactics and skills that will be necessary on the battlefield." She gave a short bow and stepped to the side. The next to approach was a boy with oddly mystical looking garb. " Yo, I'm Merlin." he said, then gave a charming smile. "Not my real name but it's what everyone calls me. I lead the Sun Lizards and my goal....I suppose it's knowledge. Not just book learning but knowledge of people. I guess you could say we're a social group. If you want to be in with all the trends and gossip you should come around and join up." He waved and winked at the crowd before stepping back. The third was much different than the rest. For they were a large, rounded, robot. "I am called Biofriendly Operational Mechanized Buddy. Or B.O.M.B. I am the head of House Bomb. We at House Bomb like to have fun. Personally speaking the most fun to be had is when working with explosives! But that's not all we do. If you want to have a fun and exciting school life be sure to join. We are all friends at House Bomb and we welcome all kinds!" The lights making up what was likely the robot's eyes formed into a pair of carets before he moved back into his previous position. Emilia stepped back to the podium and cleared her throat. "With that out of the way I'd like to introduce the principal. Former Admiral in the royal army and..." She sighed before saying the next part, "winner of Best Facial Hair in Cosmo Magazine five times running, Horace Walton." Even those living on the fringes had heard of Horace "Metal Crusher" Walton. Said to have the highest personal mech kill count of anyone in the military to date he was a feared warrior who commanded from the front lines. Even his allies were said to be intimidated by his mere presence. And he came from underneath the stage to an explosion of flowers and confetti. "Hellooooooooooooo students!" He said, flashing them all a large grin and finger gunning his way towards the podium. "As young Emilia has said I am your principal. I hope to see you all grow into fantastic pilots in your time here...but I'm not here to bore you. You've got plenty of time to get serious when classes start. I'd like you all to stand up. This is your first day here so for now...it's time to party!" He pointed up at the ceiling and the lights dimmed. A giant disco ball lowered and cast flashing lights through the auditorium. As the students stood the chairs began to lower into the ground to make more space and out of seemingly nowhere people dressed in tuxes began to walk around with drinks and food to distribute among the students. And music began to play.
