  1. Shiro was... pretty annoyed, to be honest. All they were trying to do was cross a river and they were getting attack by furry, angry beavers. He really wished he could do some sort of animal communication, but sadly that was out of his abilities. It was a shame to, as he could imagine animals would have some interesting things to say. Although he could easily imagine these beavers would just be screams of rage and "get off my property!" Well, at the very least, they didn't have to kill all these beavers to 'win' per say. They just needed to get everyone across the water and then they could run. So that meant getting Alois across the river. "Hurry and get across!" Shiro shouted at Alois as the human kicked at the animal. Shiro opted to grab the beaver as it was distracted, pulling it under the water and away from his teammate. He just needed to keep it down here long enough for Alois to get across. He could then throw it away or something... he only hoped this worked.

  3. Well, now the Fate logo is fixed. That was embarrassing.

  6. "Ew, gross." "Right?" Kazo said, the fact this was a rare moment where the two agreed with each other was not lost on him. "Well, I don't know, lot of ladies spent a lot of nights with me before. Who's to say one of them wasn't your mom?" "Please stop," Was Kazo's dry reply. He didn't want that image in his head. "But...no, that's not what I meant. The scent I smell is the scent of power. Of Legendary power. You kiddies have been very busy, haven't you?" "Hey! We didn't do anything bad! We've been busy helping you guys! I haven't even gotten a chance to fight any of you myself except one. I thought you Legends were supposed to accept challenges whenever they came!" "I-I mean... help is kind of a strong word...," More like they didn't die long enough so good things would happen. "Little outdated knowledge you've got there. Don't you know? We're in the off-season. We need some time off after all. Especially with people trying to kill us." Yeah, that made sense to Kazo. It's not like people could just fight all day every day. Even legends needed breaks. Elsa stepped forward, hands on her hips, and looked Tornadus straight in the eye. "That's all well and good but can you tone it down a little? You're blowing away the flowers." Instead of some sort of angry retort, like Kazo expected, Tornadus threw his head back and laughed. "Man, people are so spunky these days aren't they?" He then pointed at Kazo. "Except you, why's that? You're bigger than both of these lovely ladies so how come I can see you shaking in your boots?" "Kazo's not shaking! And if he is, he's just trying to hold back the urge to fight. He's not a hothead like some people," Ari spoke up before Kazo could, staring straight at Mac while speaking the last words. "I-I mean, I'm not... really wanting to fight per se?" Kazo commented. "I-I mean, judging from his name... he makes tornadoes... a-and you don't 'fight' something like that... a-at least not with a lot of collateral damage...," As for the other thing. "A-and... I'm not shaking in my boots. I just... have a hard time with women...," His voice got lower and lower as he finished his sentence. Man, he really didn't like admitting it to people. It made him seem even more pathetic... and now two people had noticed. Great. Things seemed to be going alright. The Poliwrath seemed to... loosen up due to guilt, while the Starmie had an important question. "Well...but, well, why is finding this kid so important anyw-gah!" Before Denku could launch into a thread of half-truths, a cell wall was launched right into the poor guy's head. "Sorry Denku but gonna have to cut the chit-chat short!" Brook called out. Denku, for once in his time in this group, dropped his cool demeanor and was just in a state of shock. What... what the hell just happened? "Damn it, it was a trick!" The Poliwrath said and reached out to throw Denku. "Wait, what? No, that wasn't---!" Now they thought him both a criminal and a liar. This wasn't going going to help them at all. Denku was far too unprepared for a fight and would have been grabbed, if not for a blast of water that hit the Poliwrath. "I suggest we make this quick." Gisei said. Denku's mind just wasn't processing all of this... still, there was something really important he needed to do. "Brooke, what the FUCK?!" He shouted, that cool persona he had kept up in the middle of a war, under constant testing from Fia and Beatrice, and the constant sidetracking of his quest, had finally broken. The one person he thought had a level head on her shoulders decided now, without consulting the rest of them, that conducting a jail break in a underground prison under the sea was the right and smart thing to do. He fired off his jets, flinging himself away from the guards and towards the now criminals. Now he had to fight... but did he have to? No, you know what? Brooke and Gisei had this. He wasn't letting himself be dragged into all this. He landed by Brooke, grumbling to himself before finally saying. "I guess it'd be too much to ask what the actual fuck is going on right now. Can't stop you now, sadly. Guess we'll just have to deal with this fallout,"
  7. "Great job everyone~." The teacher applauded as the group finished up. "Except you two~!" She pointed to Yuuka and Itsuki. "If you hadn't beaten them, I'd be the one in handcuffs~." She said with a weird smile. "But these were just the small fry...I suspect they didn't even have quirks. They're working for someone else." Wait.... wait wait wait. She'd be in handcuffs if she was the one to do it... it couldn't be... no way... was their teacher on suspension and had to teach the class in order to get her license back?! ...That'd explain a lot, actually. "Clan's not gonna like that one. But it was a pretty nice show for me. You all seem pretty tough." Two gangsters emerged from the shadows, looking over the group. Man, if only Misu was here. She could probably speak gansterese and make them go away. "That's how it is here in Dagobah's system. If you ain't strong here, you probably ain't gonna survive anywhere." "AH! Little kids! You're all so cute!" The other gangster began to glow as she hopped up and down. "I could eat you all up! But you're not our target today, so step aside would you?" She spoke, not looking at any of the students, but to Ms. Hitotsume. "Oh~? Do you have business with me?" Ms. Hitotsume said, pushing her glasses up her face. "Well I'm not really looking to fight today...but a real teacher needs to show her students a thing or two." She said, as she strode past all of her students. "What do you guys say? Does that sound fun to you~?" She then began to strip into a very skimpy outfit, exposing... a third eye over her belly button. Well, that was certainly unique. "Finally things are getting interesting. I was starting to get hot underneath all that too~..." "Geez...get too careless and you might just die, Gypsy." He shrugged. "Her hero name isn't Demon Eyes for nothin' ya know." The man looked towards the kids, as he started walking in their direction. "While they're busy, why don't you guys see how you go up against a real thug?" He said, throwing up one arm in front of him, in a defensive pose. "I'll let you even get the first hit on me? How's about it?" "Welp, guess it can't be helped," Itsuki said, casually stepping up to the thug. "But maybe you should give the first hit instead, eh? I've seen tougher guys around the Game Centres, and they mostly just get mad when they lose. You might have to show me if you're as strong as you say." On one hand, Herc could see where Itsuki was going with this. Just rushing in with no plan could get them all really hurt. However, that thug goaded them for a reason. It was unlikely the thug would fall for such a basic taunt and they would need this info. Well, he was the biggest and toughest, making him the most likely to walk out without injury... so he should be the one to step up and test this out. "Well, if it's a show you need, I'm all for that," Herc said, walking up and cracking his knuckles. "I need to punch someone anyways!" He charged at the man, rearing back his fist as he ran. When he got close enough, he threw his fist directly at the man's chest. In response, the thug took his hand and quickly swiped at Herc's fist, redirecting it away from the thug and causing him to miss completely. The punch itself created a gust of wind that ruffled the silver hair of the thug, who ignored it to instead focus on his counterattack. The arm that diverted the attack began to glow, causing Herc's eyes to widen. The glow traveled up the arm, across the man's shoulder, and into the man's other arm, which he then placed on Herc's stomach. A sudden burst of energy sent Herc flying back, crashing into the ground and rolling into the bus, his head colliding with the vehicle. It hurt, although not as bad as Herc would have imagined it would. Probably because of his naturally tough self and hard shell. He could only imagine how much it could hurt the others though. With a groan, the beetle hero sat up, and slowly back onto his feet. "Well... that happened," He groaned as he cracked his neck. "Guys, be careful! I think his quirk turns him into Bruce Lee!" Not exactly his A material, but he thought it was funny.
  8. "Incredible, everyone~! What a fantastic range of quirks you all have~!" Herc had to agree. Everyone was showing off some cool quirks. "But as you can see, their are areas each of you need to improve upon! Whether that be sharpening your reflexes, improving your raw capabilities, or even figuring out how to make up for lacks in your quirks~!" That was also true. Herc could tell his biggest issue right now: He was way too slow. He'd have to step it up if he wanted to be a next level hero. Suddenly, the bancho came over and began to... poke him? "You're strong, huh?" She said, as she kept poking. It was... really odd to Herc. Not so much she was poking but... Well, his body was covered in a hard layer, like a carapace. He normally couldn't feel pokes or the like, instead relying on the sound of a finger poking him to figuring out if someone poked him. With Misu... he could feel her pokes and... it wasn't all that bad? He didn't how to feel about it. It was such a novel feeling that he didn't completely dislike it. "I like that. You'll make a great gangster," He had to stop himself from laughing at that. He was big and scary, but he was probably way too soft for it. " Stay out of my way and we'll get along just fine." She said, as steam began to rise off her shoulders. Well, it was a good thing he didn't plan on getting in her way in the first place. Monday came around, and it was nearly time for the training! "Today you will be splitting into two teams. Team 1 will consist of the following: Suda Hiroharu, Katsurou Yamauchi, Diana Seigi, Valerie Clark, Misu Yoshino, and Yuudai Shiba." Well shit, that was literally everyone interesting or already his friends. Guess he was stuck with a bunch of other people. He quietly climbed into the bus, taking out his phone and opening an app for the ride. It was a long ride, and there was a special event to get a limited edition character: a cute samurai beetle girl with tuberculosis. He really wanted to get her, but he was running low on bug nets. He might have to break out the debit card for it... "We're here~!!" Ms. Hitotsume sang out to the students. "Now get off the damn bus." She groaned, switching personalities on a dime. They were met with a pretty run down city, where windows were boarded up with metal sheets and planks of wood. "This is Dagoba District. There's been a recent rise in gang activity, so we're gonna take out some trash." Herc grumbled to himself as he walked out of the bus. He didn't get her, and he didn't have enough money to spare. He only could hope he could get his hands on more cash so he can get back to gatcha rolling. But for now, there had something they had to do. "Hey, you might wanna scram. This town ain't made for kiddies." The one man gave Ms. Hitotsume a creepy smile, and licked his lips. "But we'd be glad to give a hottie like yourself the tour of the town." Ms. Hitotsume's brow twitched, before looking down on the three. "Scumbags..." She sighed, before turning back to the students. "Beat these guys up before I kill them, please~." "Yeah, yeah, we're on it," Herc said, rolling his shoulder. "Well gang you heard them, this town ain't for kiddies, so let's get these kids to daycare," "If you can get them distracted, I can bite the guy with the gun really hard," The bat girl leaned up to whisper into Herc's ear, to which he shrugged. "How about I just take out the gun guy instead and you get the other dude?" Herc offered as he eyed a trash can on to the left side of them. “Hey guys, I’m going to get the guy with the knives, watch my six. I’ll be back, I’ve got a show to perform.” Herc watched as Taro just... rushed off, without thinking about the gun man. That wasn't good at all. As the gun man was aiming his shot, Herc quickly reached over, picking up the trash man. "Yo! Pot, meet kettle!" Herc called out as he threw the can at the gun wielding thug, the can soaring at a surprisingly high speed. The man in question never even got to fire off a shot before the trash can nailed him right on the side of the head, causing him to drop his gun. Herc then rushed over, getting by the man and grabbing his neck and legs, lifting him high above the beetle man's head. "No guns, okay? Let's punch and kick like gentlemen here," He threw the man downwards, dunking him into the ground and knocking him out. "Two down, one to go!"
  9. "Todd. My name's Todd." "Toddmon? Whadda odd name," "And you're Zubamon? What the hell..." He said, with a hand covering his face. "This can't be real...you look like some really important npc." Todd stomped the ground with a heel, digging it in. "Who's your master?! Where are they?! Where are we!?" He pointed back to the caved in wall. "Can you get us out of here?!" "NPC... is that some sort of human evolution stage?" Zubamon asked. "Anyways, my master is one of the greatest warriors in the digital realm, the Legendary Royal Knight of the Wind!" The digimon stood tall and proud, obviously thinking that title carried a lot of weight, even if Todd had no idea who that was. "He's out in the town, looking for people... place seemed like a ghost town when we got here...," He sighed and rubbed his chin. "As for getting you outta here... well... it took me nearly an hour just digging for someone my size... if I take into account your height and the fact I would have to be much more careful as to make sure it doesn't cave in... that could take a few days. But hey, my master should totally come around in around an hour or two, and I know he can get us out!" A sudden clatter caught Zubamon's attention. Without a word he dashed off, running on all fours as he turned around a corner, disappearing from sight. If Todd followed him, he would see that Zubamon had cornered some sort of brown rabbit with pink tips on the ears. Zubamon watched over it carefully, making sure it wasn't armed or something before he turned to Todd. "Alright, Toddmon, this Lopomon doesn't seem dangerous! I don't think anyways!" he whipped about around, staring at the digimon. This was not Conner's day, not one bit. First he saw some monster in the mirror, and then he had three monsters just drop on top of him. That wasn't the worst part, though, oh no. The worst part was that Theo had taken it upon himself to spin some sort of eulogy for him and cradle him close to his chest. "Get... me off your chest," Conner muttered. "Theo, I have to help him," Romy told the addressed the boy holding the other intimately to his chest."Get Conner to the- Theo, he's ALRIGHT," she assured Theo, straightening. "Get him to the cafeteria, PLEASE, then... tell the others Kokoro and Chis might need help. There's more of these things." "Some people I swear have no flare for drama" The dramatic one stated, causing Conner to roll his eyes. "One tries to have a moment, and then the moment is spoiled by no one else playing along. Tis maddening and maddeninger I can tell you that much. Anyways Conner my chum, let's uhh, let's uhh get you to the cafeteria" he grunted, helping Conner up. "Still, these creatures are curiouser and curiouser. Like our earthly animals, yet strangely... animesque. It seems almost ludicrous to say that we've traveled to another world, or perhaps another world traveled to us? Hmm, I wonder if the creatures would be interested in joining the drama club?" For the first time in awhile, Conner let out a small laugh. Despite his annoyingly flowery speech patterns, Theo did bring up a good point. "Well, seeing that our school is now a stone prison, I think it's safe to assume we went to another world. Worst Isekai I've ever seen though. We went from one prison to another," "Hai, minna! Look what I got!" Touch had returned, with one of those creatures on his shoulder. "Uh... hello?" Conner stared at Touch, wondering if he should be a smartass or try to be nice to the strange exchange student. In the end, his morals won over his cynicism. "That's cool Touch. Real neat," He managed to get out, although the enthusiasm was certainly lacking. "Thanks for the help Theo, I can walk now...," He muttered as he wiggled out of Theo's grip. "We should go find the others that ran off." Dominic spoke up, looking at Theo and the one armed wonder. "I'm here," Kokoro's voice called out. "And I'm going back to my breakfast now," "... You know what, you're right," Conner said to Dominic. "Imma go check on Chris... someone... someone make sure Touch doesn't wander off and get himself and his Tamagotchi eaten," with that, he took off in a brisk jog, just trying to get away from the small crowd. It didn't take long to get back to the gym. "Chris, you still breathing? Or did the monster eat you?" "What's the holdup in here?" It seemed Kokoro came as well, for whatever reason. Maybe she and Chris were dating, who knew? He didn't keep up with the gossip. Well, now that she was here, she could check on the jock. Conner's eyes wandered, before something caught his eye. A strange glowing symbol on the far wall. "Many a student has made mention of a strange glyph in the gym, though they only ever see it out of the corner of their eyes. It's quite strange, for when they turn to look at it, like magic it's simply gone!" Conner recalled that not even five minutes ago, Theodore had told him of such a thing. But instead of vanishing... it was there! A strange glowing glyph. There was something else about it... something... drawing him to it. He walked to it slowly, enraptured by the symbol. Finally, he stood in front of it, the symbol eye level with him. He reached out to it... only to remember that arm was gone. With a sigh, he reached with his left hand, gently tracing the symbol with great curiosity. The effect was almost immediate. The wall began to shake, a loud rumbling being heard as the portion of stone sunk in and then split open, revealing a dark dark passageway. It was nearly impossible to see in it... but in the distance... he could see a light. Was that... was that maybe the exit? Quietly, and almost zombie-like, he walked forward, trying his best to reach the light. Mr. Henderson peeked out from behind the desk he was hiding behind, looking to see what the Devimon was doing. The search of the broom closet was finished, and now it was coming closer and closer to his hiding spot. The teacher reached into his pocket, readying his secret weapon. The second the Devimon poked its foul evil head around the desk, Mr. Henderson let out a warcry. "POCKET SAND!!!" At this thundering cry, he tossed the said pocket sand into the Devimon's eyes, causing the creature to roar in pain. "Damn you human!!" it screamed despite its blinding rage and the blinding sand, recoiling away. The metal shop teacher took this opportunity to rush across the room and out the door. He slid as his momentum carried him to the hallway wall, but he reoriented himself and started to rush towards the stairs leading to the lower levels. He could hear the room being destroyed by the Devimon's wild flailing and throwing random attacks around. This was good though. He would make it back, and they would be safe. He spoke a little too soon. Something hit his foot, and the next thing he knew, the white haired teacher fell to the ground, hitting it hard enough to temporarily knock the wind out of him. Looking up, he saw he had tripped over... a metal mushroom digimon? "O-oh! I'm sorry, are you okay?!" The digimon asked. "No, but I don't have time to not be okay," Mr. Henderson muttered. "Come here, you, this ain't a place for a rookie to be wandering around in," He reached over and scooped the digimon up in his arms and ran off. The stairs themselves were hidden behind a large stone wall, one that the even the bigger digimon couldn't just brute force their way through. There was, however, a small space underneath it, one big enough for Mr. Henderson to dive on his stomach and slide across the floor, slipping under it and getting to safety. With an aching stomach, the teacher stood back up, sighing to himself as he placed the digimon on the ground and began to walk away. "Don't get into trouble now, you hear me?" He said as he headed down the stairs. "H-hey, wait up!" The digimon called out as he ran after him. "Y-you're a human, right?" "In the flesh. What of it?" was the response. "W-well, i-if you're a human, then you could become my partner, right? Like in the legends of the Digidestined!" The small digimon called out. The teacher froze at the words. "Partner, huh? Sorry buddy, but I'm not particularly looking for a partner right now. You'll have to rope someone else into it," He continued his walk down the stairs, but the digimon did his best to keep up. "Wait up!" the digimon cried out. Maybe due to how pitiful it sounded, the teacher sighed and turned around, grabbing the small creature. "I'll get you to the first floor, but you're going to have to find your own partner," The teacher stated. The digimon nodded, noting to himself just exactly how the words were phrased. Soon, the teacher and the digimon made it to the first floor, and the teacher headed with the library, the digimon in tow. Ms. Grace looked up from her desk, her eyes scanning Mr. Henderson's body before coming to a conclusion. "You went to the higher floors," The tone wasn't accusing or even worrying. Just stating facts with a hint of disappointment. "Is it that obvious?" Mr. Henderson asked with a chuckle and a shrug. 'That large wound on your arm is very telling," She said evenly as she reached below her desk, pulling up medical supplies. "We're running out of these. You need to stop being so reckless," "Hey, recklessness is part of my charm," Mr. Henderson flashed a smile, causing Ms. Grace to shake her head and slap the wound gently. It still hurt enough to cause the metal shop teacher to hiss out in pain. "Damn, your bedside manner sucks," he quipped. "All your 'charm' won't mean anything if you're dead," Ms. Grace fired back, ignoring the quip. Her voice and gaze softened a bit as she spoke. "I don't think we can afford to lose you Dave," "Hey, I won't go down that easily," was the response. "But... thanks for caring," The librarian only blushed lightly in response. The digimon he brought with him sighed as he watched. His partner was getting really sappy with a weird... human and digimon fusion? A Humon, maybe? He didn't know. He spotted a girl and a Wormmon at a table, so he decided he would find out who those two were. With a bit of determination, he managed to get to the table and climb on top of it. "Hi!" He said. "I'm Ludomon! ... Are you two partners?"
  10. "Hey I know that!...I'll wait until it ends! You're telling me you don't want to take this chance to fight another Legend? I bet we can take this one." Mac nodded firmly. "I mean, to be fair, having a nice, non-life spar would be nice after what happened with literally everyone else," Kazo admitted. "But, I mean, from his name and his entrance, I think he can make tornadoes. That's not the easiest force of nature to fight, you know?" "So, little lady, you wanna tussle with the muscle do ya?" He said, flexing one arm. "I can't say I expected to hear that from some shrimps like you. What's your names?" He leaned down and narrowed his eyes, staring at Kazo. "And what's this familiar smell I sense on you..." "Um... S-same body spray?" Kazo joked. "I... really don't know what you could be smelling... unless...," He looked at Tornadus strangely. "You're... not with my mom, are you?" He had no idea what to think about that if it was true. Hell, if that was the case, did Denku know? What did he think of it if that was the case? "Seahorse races, parades, light shows, there's a lot always going on! It feels like every week is a festival of some kind." The Starmie responded. That was interesting to say the least. Denku was actually genuinely interested about what these people had to say. Maybe because they were under the ocean and that was unusual to him, or maybe because he wanted to know what Dora's home was like. "No one here ever lacks for something to do." The Poliwrath followed up with a grunt. "Not a fan myself but it keeps the people happy. I'd rather just spend more time in the gym..." "Why do you ask? What, you uh, want to stick around or something?" The Starmie asked. "I don't know if the king would let you do that...but you could try!" The Poliwrath cringed. "I'd love to see his face." She muttered. Denku shook his head. "No, no, I doubt I'd be welcomed," Denku admitted. "Just a mix of curiosity about Dora's home, and some ideal places to start my search for the kid we're looking for," He sighed to himself. "After we find this kid, I'm going to go look for my brother again. Let my bleeding heart sidetrack me too much as it is,"
  11. "I managed Clear Mind... And I couldn't summon a single dragon." Leiko stated, making Zirco narrow his eyes. He didn't like where this was going, but he'd let her talk. "That's right. You couldn't." Morodate stated. "I thought you achieving Accel Synchro was a sign you were ready to accept your responsibilities, Leiko... Clearly I was wrong." "Imma 'bout to punch you to," Zirco muttered under his breath. "Who said I can't try?" "What?" Both the signer and the handler looked at Leiko in sync, a questioning look on their face. "I... I owe it to these people... right? To try for what they've all been through... I used Accel Synchro." She looked over to Zirco, uncertainty in her voice. "I can... summon a dragon too, right? One day?" Zirco's grin was as wide as a banana. "Bet on it. We'll have you summonin' that dragon soon enough," "Of course you'll be able to. You're chosen, just like the rest of us, aren't you?" Oh, yeah, the others were here... "We're a family now. Like it or not, we've all been chosen, linked together. So let's make the best of it!" Stepping away from Leiko, she extended a hand to Zirco, offering a shake, "And you're both amazing. So let's not dwell on this negativity, alright?" Zirco looked at the hand before finally reaching out and shaking it. "Yeah, I had enough of being a flamin' rage machine for one day," "Don't get complacent though," Natsumi warned from her seat. "We still have a job to do, but given the nature of the experiments it's safe to say we can all expect great things from one another. For now, it's about time we all got ourselves a real meal instead of some popcorn, wouldn't you say?" "You read my mind! Let's get going, to the food room!" She pointed towards the door with little hesitation, marching off towards it as her arms stretched out into the air, "That snack I had isn't nearly enough to keep my hunger down!" "Bitchin', Barbatos's cooking is amazing," Gil said as he walked towards the D-Wheels, looking over them. "You'd think someone with his caliber of cooking would have gone to school for it or somethin', but nah, he's just a simple huntin' man. Y'all enjoy it," "Well, I hope it lives up to your praise," Zirco said. "Let's eat, the hothead take a lot outta me," Ending Theme 10:00 AM The signers had all been gathered up, and brought back to the meeting room where they all first met, except the room had been transformed. The table now had a large white cloth over it, and silverware at every chair. The center of the table had clean plates stacked on top of each other, surrounding the tables were four bars, each filled with all sorts of food, ranging from cereals, to bagels, to apples, and even chicken noodle soup. There was just a large abundance of breakfast items (and chicken noodle soup) filling each bar. Barbatos stood in the back of the room, looking mighty proud of himself as Mr. E sat by the table at what looked like an old school desk. "Go ahead, eat whatever you may like!" The white haired magus called out. "But please, try not to talk shop during of breakfast. There will be plenty of time afterwards for Signer things. Please, just enjoy your food and get to know each other," He said with a smile. Zirco shrugged, walking over and grabbing a plate before walking to the bars and stacking the food on high.
  12. Time for me to host FOUR RPS.

  13. "All ancient text... Once you know the spells, the tome itself will be basically a chant skipper. For example, I can recite the incantation for that tome by heart at this point. Since you can see the structure, try to follow along with my words." Well, they were just jumping right in, weren't they? Holding her hand out in front of her, palm upward, Ada closed her eyes and began to chant. Raynor did his best to follow her, holding his own hand out in a similar manner to her. It was... odd... he could say the words, but... it felt foreign, and it was like his tongue was tripping over itself. While she formed a ball of darkness, he was only able to manage a small dark mist pouring out of his hand, formless and featureless. "Now, if I was holding your tome, I would be able to cast the spell instantly, so long as I use the book as a conduit. And, on top of that..." Ada reached into her bag, pulling out her Dusk tome and cracking it open, "There are stronger versions of the spells by performing the chant with the tome open. This won't work for you while you're learning, because you need the tome to even cast the spell... But once you've mastered a spell, it becomes available. Does that make sense?" "I... think so," Raynor commented. "Basically... as long as I know the spells by heart, having its tome lets me skip chants... and I can do stronger versions, but only when I have the book the spell is from opened," With a chuckle, he looked at his book again. "So guess I'll have a lot of cramming to do if I wanna be casting magic," That wasn't his strong suit, not at all, but if he could wrestle both a Salamander and a Wyvern, he could learn how to read a language. "Thanks for all this help," he added.
  14. "And what are you stammering about? Are you hiding something? Just spit if out if you have something to say." She tossed her head and then sighed. "But thank you. We will. How could we not?" "H-hiding an incredible fear of women," Kazo muttered to himself as he put his hands behind his head and looking away. At least she thanked him, but good lord, this was why he didn't like talking to these kind of people. Next thing he knew, the winds started to pick up, and appearing in a vortex a large, green man appeared in one grand entrance. "Haha, now that I'm here this party can really get started eh?" The man said in a booming voice. "Damn I love weddings!" Elsa looked around in surprise as the people of Ogren cheered, with one voice cutting through it all with, "It's him, it's the Great Green One!" Mac slowly made her way forward, closer to where Kazo was, and muttered. "I knew it...Tornadus." "Because of course we run into yet another elusive legendary," Kazo shook his head. "I swear you're a magnet for them, Mac," He sighed and rolled his shoulder. "So, you wanna... talk to him or something?" He asked. "Please... please don't fight during the party," "That isn't any of your business...but yes, it's more of the prison." Alright, that was good to know. So there were more people here... "And we didn't hear the King tell us to lead you there." The Tentacruel said warily. Fair point, to be honest. "Though he didn't say not to..." The Starmie added. That was also a fair point. "I doubt he'd want people wandering around in there. It's dangerous." The Poliwrath said, crossing her arms. "I got it!" The Tentacruel said. "I'll go check with the King. He'll be able to tell us if we can let you in there or not." "Yeah, go ahead, I don't wanna be stepping on toes," Denku said. "I'm just kinda chasing leads, so if it's too much trouble, don't worry about it," He paused as he watched the Tentacruel leave. It was quiet in the prison... and to be honest, Denku liked it. It had been a while since he had a quiet moment to himself. Still... he should try to learn more about the city. "So... um... whaddya all do for fun in Merm?"
  15. A young person discovers that their significant other is a demon, and their best friend is a demon hunter. Now they have to decide who to side with, and what secrets to keep and what to expose.
  16. "So you came after all." She said, off-handedly. "Thanks I suppose." She looked over at Mac and Laura. "Our family don't really like all this, so...we didn't have a lotta...a lot of people. I don't really care but I...well, I wanted to give her more." She hesitated then waved her hand dismissively. "Of course this isn't much at all. We should have much more than this, parades, fireworks, thousands of people....But I guess even someone like I have to settle sometimes." "I-if it's any consolation, it is the nicest w-wedding I've been to," Kazo said. "A-and I've been to quite a f-few... my m-mother was fond of them... hers or otherwise," he shrugged. "A-anyways, congratulations on the wedding. I-I hope you two have m-many happy years," He said with a big smile. He really meant that to. "Sent? Why would...perhaps things on the surface are worse than we knew." He glanced over at the soldiers, before looking back. "As for being friends, I cannot say. It wouldn't surprise me, Dora makes friends with everyone she meets, yet I'm unsure she ever really met Phione." He shifted a bit, rolling his shoulder, and then finished. "What do you plan to do next? Your goal is likely behind that door but I doubt you'll easily be able to walk in. What comes next?" "I dunno, I'm kinda winging this," Denku muttered. He turned around, stretching and cracking his back. "We'll figure this out," He stated before he walked away. "It was nice to meet ya. I can see why Dora's so fond of ya," With that he returned to the guards, sighing to himself. "Well, that was somewhat helpful, I suppose," He looked over to the door that Gisei pointed out. "Hey, what's behind that door?" He asked the guards. "Is it like, a lower prison area, or a storage area? Do you mind if I check it out?"
  17. "I guess some people are just more suited to magic, and others to..." Ada stated, causing Raynor to look up. "S-so I guess teach you how to read comes first, y-yeah." "That might help, yeah," Raynor agreed, plopping to the floor, folding his legs under him as he got into his sitting position. He reached over for the book, looking over it quickly. He didn't really look over his purchase and now was the right time to do so. The book was a nice purple, a shade that Raynor thought looked really cool, like royalty. There were some small symbols across the top. He assumed they meant Shade, since that was the book he was told he bought. There was some sort of design on it, like a diamond within a bigger diamond, and the bigger diamond had jagged edges on the top and bottom. He flipped open the book and stared at the strange strange symbols that were attempting to pass as a language. He did his best to read them, and... he could kinda see a sort of sentence structure. He could tell where sentences started and ended... but that was about it. He looked up, chuckling a bit. "Well, these are certainly words of some kind," He joked.
  18. As it turned out, the time difference between America and Japan was the hardest part of this endeavor, with a 13 hour time difference between them and all. He knew his dad still had one from his old hero-ing days and was just too lazy to have Uncle Ron unplug it and move it away, so all he had to do was find one for himself. Thankfully, the school did have a fax machine, all he had to do was figure out the best time for both the school and his parents. So after some talking with the teachers, he found himself in the school on Saturday at 11 AM, waiting for the fax machine to start up. As he did, he dialed his father's phone number, keeping it to his ear as he waited for his father to pick up. It took a few rings, but soon he heard the voice that shaped his life. "Hey son, what's up?" Herc blinked a bit. It sounded like his dad was exerting himself, panting a bit. It was night.... "Did, did I call at a bad time? Am I getting a sibling?" Herc half joked, half asked. "Oh, yeah, since you went to school and your sister went to Uncle Ron's for the weekend, your mom and I have just been going at it, you know? She couldn't wait to have some of that beetle di---," "Okay dad, no, please, stop. Please," Herc nearly begged, causing his dad to laugh. "I'm kidding kiddo," Was the reply. "I'm actually doing some community service right now," his dad explained, causing Herc to nod. Yeah, that made sense... however, what didn't make sense was his dad suddenly shouting at somone... "Watch your six, rubber boy!" Before Herc could question it, his dad answered. "New kid, he's not used to this yet. Anyways, what did you need?" "Yeah, well, I think I'll call mom... I just had a permission slip I needed signed, and I thought you'd be at home," "Alright then. Talk to ya later kiddo. Love ya," "Love you to Dad," Herc said as he hung up. He then quickly called his mom, and soon, had his permission slip sent. Faxing wasn't a fast process though, and he was stuck there for another hour until he got his paper back, all nice and signed. This was good. Now, he could take another step in becoming a real hero. The day had finally arrived, Friday was here, and they were doing quirk evaluations. Val wanted to set the bar... which she did do by default going first. Yuudai had taken off his shirt, to which Herc joined in the call of "Exhibitionist!" with Itsuki. They got a warning but hey, teasing friends was always fun. Everyone else got through their tests relatively easily and creatively. He figured that maybe--- "What a drag this was." lIt seemed Misu was getting impatient. "Well?! Come on, I ain't got all day! You wanna get sent flyin'!?" Well, he did see everyone he wanted to, so now was Herc's time. "Alright, alright, hold your horses, I'm goin'," Herc commented as he started to move. "Time to go wild and show my style!" He headed over to the shooting range, and with a smirk, took a wide stance, letting his left arm hang loose while his right arm was tense and hovering over his hip. He was obviously trying to invoke the image of a cowboy as he shot his right arm up, pointing his finger at a target and saying "Bang!" However... nothing happened. Which is exactly what he expected. Just had to get the easy one out of the way before he moved on to wow the crowd. Next thing he took was the obstacle course. He looked at the warped wall in front of him, cracking his knuckles. Everyone had their creative ways of overcoming this course, but no one would do it as easily as him. After all... he had a bit of a cheat code. Instead of rushing up the wall, trying to get to the top the fastest and best way he could... he simply walked up it, using his ability to cling to surfaces to allow him to take it at a leisurely pace, even at a direct 90 degree angle. The rest of the course was just as easily overcame, using that oh so useful bug clinging to make it across the obstacles. However, it was obvious that despite his ease of finishing the course, he couldn't actually do it quickly due to his bulk, and so he had the slowest time of everyone that made it. Finally, the moment he had been waiting for, the punching bag. Now, Herc had done cool things like picking up cars and stuff, but he never gave something his absolute best punch. He took a deep breath, excitement and a bit of anxiousness filling his body as he got into a stance. He wound up, before unleashing his attack. "Atomic... Beetle... Punch!!" He called out in an attempt to be funny and calm his nerves. His fist made contact with the bag, a boom similar to Misu's resounding through the room... but there was another horrible sound, a metallic scrapping as the machine was pushed back from its spot. It didn't go too far, but it did indeed move at least half a foot away from its original position. That was not what Herc was expecting to be honest. He was so overwhelmed by his own strength he didn't even catch what his number was. He was too busy staring at his fist in awe. "I didn't even know I was that strong," With that, he went back to the others, a grin on his face. "So how do ya think I did?" He asked to no one in particular.
  19. "Are you just trying to take advantage of her, boy?" Dragoneco asked, causing Mr. E to raise an eyebrow. "I am older than both you and her by a lot. I'm actually a bit offended by the notion that I would be trying to do something of the sort," Mr. E stated. "Anyways, hot tub is in the back, and in the other room, there are lockers. The locker with your name on it should have some swimming clothes that fit you. Don't be shy now, okay?" He said as he went back to his book, humming to himself. Zirco watched as Leiko's D-Wheel refused to budge. He couldn't make out the exact details from across the track, but he did know something wasn't right. Soon, the words disqualified flashed across the screen, and the duel was over. Zirco didn't even get to drive over to Leiko to start grilling her, as the auto pilot kicked in, forcing the two D-Wheels to head back into the garage. Zirco was the first to arrive back, getting off his D-wheel, and waiting for Leiko to come back. "Oy," Gil spoke up to the other signers, standing up and grabbing the edge of the couch. "If he goes to attack her, help me restrain him, yeah?" When Leiko's D-Wheel drove in, Zirco took a step forward towards her, but Gil leap over the back of the couch, powersliding across the ground and coming to a stop right in front of Zirco. With a growling sigh, Zirco opted to just fold his arms. "So, you wanna talk about what happened there?" He asked. "You were doing so good and then---," He paused, before shaking his head. "No, that isn't the important thing here. The real important thing here is what are you going to do now? You obviously have the potential with Clear Mind. You forced me to summon my own dragon without summoning your own. That's no easy feat. So, are you going to run away and let others suffer for you, or are you going to fight and improve so others don't suffer any more?"
  20. "Wait! Get back here! I want answers! Damn," As Todd took his arm out of the hole, a new noise was heard from the wall. Instead of the scratching from earlier, it now sounded like a power tool was taken to the wall, the high pitched whining filling the area. Not even a few seconds later, a golden spinning ball exploded from the wall, unfurling in midair to reveal a gold armor plated creature. It resembled a small bipedal dragon, with a white cape dangling behind it and a large blade on its snout. "There no need to fear!" It called out as it landed and began doing some poses it obviously thought looked cool. "I, Zubamon, am here to help all of you!" He paused as he spotted Todd, looking the teen up and down, a confused look in its eye. "Wait, are you a... hoomin?" It asked, dropping the pose. "Wow, you're the first hoomin I've ever met! I should get my master, he's been looking for hoomins!" He turned to go back to the hole he made... only to discover that there was a small cave in, covering the hole he had made. That would be like... another hour of digging. Crap. With a cough, he turned back to Todd. "So, um... what's your name, hoomin?" "Conner, what has happened man? Are you in distress?" Conner looked up to see that Theo had followed him, with his food in hand. Then again, he did scream... so... anyways, it seemed the drama nut saw the thing to. "How intriguing. The statuette is oddly within the mirror, and as such the mirror no longer casts a reflection" he commented. "Curious that no one has mentioned this yet when strange happenings have spread around the school since the calamity" he spoke, addressing Conner. "Maybe no one had seen it yet?" He commented. He was pretty sure others would have said something by now if they saw a monster in the mirror. "Many a student has made mention of a strange glyph in the gym, though they only ever see it out of the corner of their eyes. It's quite strange, for when they turn to look at it, like magic it's simply gone! I heard that student Touch mention something about fire in regards to it, though I pray not. Imagine that! Fire spreading throughout the gym, like we don't have enough worries right my friend? Ha haa. Ahhh, but pity this place isn't Wonderland" Theodore Oswald Dreifus Shaw wistfully mused. "It would be so much better if it were, after all, in Wonderland there are no more troubles, for the greatest problem would be things a child could understand" he sang pleasantly while leaving Conner's food by the sink. "But when it gets round to it, anything can be a Wonderland Conner. For wishing things could be such a way, then life would be a Wonderland," And then he just left. Conner looked down at the tray of food and back to the retreating form of Theo. What the heck was with him? "What a weirdo...," Conner muttered before turning back to the mirror. Suddenly... he... heard something. "Kees I eno eht ton era uoy. Thgil fo dlihc ,uoy ot tuo sllac taht eno eht dnif," Conner gripped his head as the strange alien voice echoing in his skull, speaking a language he could not understand. What was this?! Why was this happening to him? Looking at the mirror once more, he could see a phrase etching itself into the mirror. "Call unto me as I see you" It was all too much for the one armed boy, and he rushed out of the room. Unfortunately though, he came out just as Kokoro threw her shoe, nailing the ceiling. The tile fell out of place, and three small animals fell out from the ceiling, landing right on top of Conner and knocking him to the floor. Two of them, a hoodie wearing monster and a white hedgehog with a blue scarf, immediately got up and tried to bolt, the hedgehog heading for the gym as the hoodie wearing creature rushed for the kitchen. The third one, a black dragon with red fangs, was laying on its back on top on Conner, struggling to flip back upwards and get back on its feet. Conner just laid on the ground, groaning about how heavy the thing on his back was. Mr. Henderson took heavy breaths as he hid behind a teacher's desk, breathing heavily as he used his hand to apply pressure on a large gash he had, doing his best to stop the bleed. "Shit," He cursed under his breath. He had snuck onto the third floor, despite it being against the rules, but it was all according to plan. They'd find a safe path to the roof, and climb down, so the students could get out of this temple. However, that plan hit one really big snag. "Can't believe there's a Devimon in this school," He muttered. As if on cue, a tall, black leather wearing creature had lumbered in, hunching over as it walked through the doorway. "I know you're here huuuuuuman," It said in a singsong voice. "You won't escape me...," Mr. Henderson peeked from the side of the room, seeing that the Devimon had decided to check the broom closet first. This wasn't good... it was only a matter of time. Ms. Grace looked up from behind her desk in the library, seeing Mackenzie conversing with Wormmon. Her face was unreadable as she walked towards the two, her steps silent. She passed them up to go to the shelves though, grabbing what looked like a children's picture book about a cat with a tall hat. She placed it down on the table where Mackenzie sat. "It might... help," She said quietly before walking back to her desk.
  21. Kazo didn't know why they were at this wedding. Sure, it was nice and all, but... well, he didn't feel any attachment to this. He didn't know these people, in fact, he thought that the woman in a suit was a bit of a bitch. It wasn't like he hadn't been in a wedding before though, so he was expecting it to be this boring. Mac apparently didn't get the memo as she fell asleep in the middle of the service. She was the one that wanted to come and she--- Kazo took a deep breath to stop himself from continuing that train of thought. Still, he felt this was indeed a massive waste of his time. The only good thing to come out of this was the usual only good thing to come out of weddings, the food. But of course, Mac was causing problems, even when asleep. She was shocking anyone that got too close, but they couldn't set up with her there. Time to abuse type advantage. Kazo walked over, rolling up his sleeves before his hands whipped out, picking up Mac and gently tossing her like she was a hot potato. Sure, he resisted electricity but that didn't mean he wanted to hold on to her for long. The tingling always felt weird. "That is...quite the goal." He hesitated, causing Denku to tilt his head. "Neither Phione nor Manaphy has been seen for a long time. Some say they are gone but...I can't imagine this to be true." He glanced away and continued. "There are two prisoners here. One is myself and the other." He nodded and they'd see his gaze was now fixed on the steel door off to the side. "In there. I've not seen them but the king sometimes goes through there. I cannot say who is in there but they are obviously someone important." That indeed seemed important. He looked back at the group. "Why are you searching for the Legend of the Sea?" he asked, his tone grave. "Some of the other legendaries are worried about them, so we got sent as errand boys," Denku commented. "Also apparently Dora is friends with Phione, so again, we're doing this mostly for Dora," Denku said as he stood up and took a few steps to the steel door, looking back at the guards for their reaction. This seemed important, he couldn't let this just slip by.

This is interesting. As a storywriter who tries to incorporate mature themes into my stories but I want to avoid the "edgy and overdepressing" trap that people fall into. Any advice?

  23. "Huh? Dress up for what?" Mac took a moment to remember what was going on. "Oh! Uh, I dunno what you're talking about I don't need to dress up at all. I'm fine just like this...You might need something though. Maybe you can wear a dress." Mac laughed again but it seemed a bit less jovial than before. "Only if you wear one to," Kazo commented with a chuckle. Soon, Trish came out with Ari all dressed up, and handing Kazo's bag to him. "I packed some other clothes for him. Hopefully it'll help, yeah?" "Yeah, thanks mom," He said before hugging her. He sighed as he broke the hug, rubbing his chin. "Well... I guess we better get going," He muttered. "Right. Before to see me before you leave, alright?" Trish said with a smile, which Kazo nodded to. "Of course," "You might have to narrow it down. I'm not sure if you noticed coming in but Dora's friends are...everyone." That was a fair point, and one that Denku couldn't argue against. The prisoner looked back at Brooke. "One way or another Dora won't want to stay here. Regardless of how well she's treated or loved. Her mother wanted her to go to the world because she knew Dora wouldn't be satisfied with less." He looked back at Denku. "You will want to take care of your other task before your friend begins her rampage. Who are you looking for?" "Oh, some child of a legendary. Phione, I think the name was," Denku tried to play it off as casual, but he knew this wasn't something they could just brush to the side. This WAS the child of a legendary. Then again, there was always the possibility that this man didn't know who that was at all. If he didn't know, then they'd have to look the old fashioned way and honestly, seeing as legends could apparently shapeshift, that wasn't going to be easy. They'd need Dora... again.
