  1. I nod, listening to Hifumi. "Nercomancy, huh? That's a rare field of study...," I sit down, absorbing all the other info. "So, yeah, now that you placed everything on the table, I mighta well do the same. I wanna win this Holy Grail War, and I think we both know that the average mage doesn't even think about the average man on the streets. So I wanna get an information network to help me watch the other Masters, so I know who is where, and see if I can't work it all to my advantage," I think to myself. "I made alliances with two other Masters, I'll be sure to pass you their pictures when I get them," I jab my thumb at Archer. "My partner here was one of the guys in the casino last night, honestly, that's how we got the money for this down payment," I shrug. "That's about all I got for now. I'm curious about this other guy you mentioned in your texts though. Maybe someone else is trying what I'm trying to do,"
  2. I chuckle as I read the messages. It seemed that this network was paying off. My eyes then narrow as I look at the first message. "Wait a minute...," No... It could be, could it? "Hey Archer, you feel like getting some pizza?" I ask as I slip into my clothes. >Head to the pizza palor, ordering a large pizza with pineapple. "Hey Archer...," I ask as we wait for the pizza. "You're familiar with leading groups of less than moral people. Do you have any advice? I really don't want this to backfire," >After we get the pizza, we head to Hifumi's place. As I enter, I grin widely. "Pizza time," I smile as I place the pizza on his desk. "So...," I pause before I go fishing for info. "These familiars you got are really cool,"

If we're talking possible significant others, than I can't miss something I've never truly had. Family and friends, that's a whole 'nother story.

  4. Shiro wasn't hundred percent sure what was going on, so he moved out of his corner to approach the group. There was a piece of parchment with some sort of messy writing on it that the apparent mayor had written. He squinted as he looked at it. It was hard to make out.... "Ruse...key...wait, no, that's not right." Gunther mused. "Rose is key?" Shiro offered. That's what he was seeing, although he could make an argument for 'Rise is key' but that didn't make sense to him. Before he could think too deeply about the meaning, however, a commotion drew his attention. "Who are you people? And I mean who are you really?" The town guard asked. "And what are you doing with THAT?" "It's... L-Look, I know I just met him, but that Edrick guy he--" The merchant seemed to be caught up in this madness as well. "...I-I'm sure he just, took it off a, a bandit, or.. Or something!" She swallowed nervously, moving a hand to grab at the back of her head. "It's... I'm sure... He's alright, right? ...You're... A good guy, right? ...Please?” Shiro looked over at the item causing these issues. It seemed to be a pendant, with a raven on it. Blood stained it some, but it didn't look like something to cause so much alarm. "I don't get it," Shiro spoke again. Seemed he was doing that a lot more recently. "He has a necklace. So what?"
  5. They had managed to knock over Zekrom, but the tough legend took it in stride, standing right back up right away. "Ahhh that was a good one! Come on, let me see what you can do together! You're a team right? Let's see that teamwork!" He adjusted his stance and crouched a bit, ready to grapple with anyone who came close. "Okay, you want to see what we got, well don't cry when we knock you out!" Mac called out. Kazo watched Zekrom's stance. He was ready to intercept any of them... the three would need some sort of cover to even get close. Thankfully... there was one way. Kazo placed a hand on each of their shoulders, taking a knee so he was level with his teammates. "Alright you guys. You see that goal in front of us, right? I'm going to provide you with some cover, to help us get in close," The wind began to pick up, sand being raised into the air. "Don't get lost in the wind," He stated before his form melted into the storm, his Sand Veil ability making it difficult to track the dirt dragon. As Ari and Mac went for their attacks, Kazo ran around Zekrom, making one full lap around him. Two laps... three laps... he kept running, picking up his speed as he ran. As the two unleashed their attacks, Kazo leapt into the air, diving straight at Zekrom's head with an Iron Head, spinning through the air like a drill, using all his speed to launch himself at the legend. Memories of the fight with Regirock flowed through his mind, but this time... this time would be different. The three of them would overcome!
  6. "Well, it's nice to meet ya Hifumi," I say before listening to Archer. "That's a good point Archer...," I mutter as I stare at the map. "So, you say the Zero Gang can take bullets to the head, and keep walking?" That didn't... Seem natural, and well worth looking into. "Alright, I think they're the biggest problems right now. I'll have to try to take them out before they catch wind of your gang getting help and attack ya," I turn back to Hifumi. "Say, you got a phone number I can contact ya with? And maybe, if you got it, a picture of the leader of the Zero Gang?"
  7. Sieg sighed to himself as he walked down the hallway. He was finally out of that gathering hall, no longer having to be stifled by appearances and being surrounded by people he didn't know. Sure, he'd have to go back into it at in thirty minutes, but he'd have thirty minutes of peace at the very least. "What's a big strong human man doing here with all us naughty beasts?" A voice called out to him, startling him enough that he almost dropped his cloak. No, no, he was crazy, there was no way she followed him when there was so much more do to. He turned his head slowly to his side and got to confirm with his own eyes that yes, she did actually follow him. Why would she do that?! And dammit, why was a simple curious look and ear twitch so cute? "Maybe Jekyll thinks you can make us behave... but I wonder how much experience from slaying dragons translates to cats..." From his personal experience, none. Cats absolutely hated him, as did most animals, actually. Probably because they sensed that he was unnatural. "I'm very sorry to interrupt, but... You offered training, so I figured I'd tag along until then. After all, no harm in getting to know those I'll be working with, right? And despite the start, you seem fairly reliable." And again, Sieg was startled. A man that faced down a dragon, bandit tribes, and monsters without flinching, was not acting like a child jumping at every noise in the dark because of a cat and a bunny. Just wow. "I... I mean... I guess you can tag along," Sieg told Lopt after finally calming down, the confusion obvious in his voice. "I'm just going to get a haircut before the training though...," He explained. "I guess that'll let you meet Nicky...," he mused before eyeing Catriona, trying to come up with a cohesive answer to her question. He then realized that it probably looked like he was staring, so he averted his eyes and coughed a little. "As for what a human's doing here... well... I wouldn't exactly call myself... human anymore... I mean, how many humans have you met with a chest that glows in the dark?" He mentioned, using a finger to trace the tattoo on his cheek, leading the finger down the trail to his chest. "But... as I said earlier... I'm not a Jaeger either... I used to be human, after all...," He sighed, shaking his head. "Sorry, that's probably more depressing than what you all would want to hear right now. I have no clue what Jekyll is thinking, but I'm almost hundred percent sure that dragon slaying and handling cats is like comparing apples to oranges. Doesn't mean I'm not willing to learn," After all, he needed to make sure he could keep everyone safe. He better damn well learn soon. "A-anyways... I'm just... going to... keep going... yeah...," With that, he walked off, hoping he didn't look as nervous as he felt. What was with those two? He was quiet as he walked away, only nodding or occasionally waving to any personnel he passed by. It didn't take long for the Dragon Slayer to end up at his destination. It was a small room, looking as if it'd fit maybe six people at max. Lined along the nearest wall were four comfortable looking chairs, the set of chairs sitting across from a different seat, one tailored made as a red barber chair. The lone seat sat on the opposite side of the room, a sink behind it. With no one else currently in the room, he sat down in one of the comfortable seats, making sure he was closest to the corner, trying to hide away as much as possible, a feat impossible for the man, as he stood out like a sore thumb.
  8. "Don't worry about it. I like dogs," I comment as I get comfortable. "Okay well, this is a strange situation," I say. "But the easiest explanation I have is that there are some big time gangs and big corporations playing a sick game. In this city, they have sent out seven heirs to large inheritances, and a bodyguard with them. They have to now kill each now, and the last person standing inherits all the combined fortunes. Why they're doing it is beyond me, but I've been thrown into this game, and I plan to survive," I shift in the couch. "What I want is to hire people familiar with this city, people who have their ears to the ground, so I can keep track of these other heirs and their bodyguards. I can figure out what they're doing, where their bases are set up, and take them out systematically. This is my offer. Ten thousand dollars for your help, and that's just a down payment. After I survive this war and get the rest of the fortunes, you can name your price for helping me. You want a giant mansion on a hill and 50 million dollars? I'd give you that and a new car every Christmas. If you know anyone else that would be willing to help, this same offer goes to them as well. So, what do you say?"
  9. Sieg just folded his arms and listened at first, but then he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. The cat woman, the one that had still yet to introduce herself was looking in his direction. What could be so interesting over in this direction? He took a quick glance to the other side of him to see what could catch her attention, but he couldn't see anything but the wall. Then what could she be--- No, she couldn't be looking at him, could she? He turned to see if that was the case, but by the time he looked back, she had looked away. Maybe he was just going crazy... Eric had started talking again anyways. “I’m surprised you would bring that up, my dear slayer. That was something I would mention within the mission briefing, however I suppose I can explain that for the moment. Yes, while the Fahlyn, from what we can tell are a hive mind and formless darkness...they hold more power than you realize. These demons feed off of negative emotions...and when they continue, from what research we’ve come across...the prey they seek after, shall end up going through a metamorphosis and inevitably, become a Fahlyn themselves. Our head of research, Dr. Phila Stone hypothesized this and while we’ve yet to prove it, it’s not unlikely that this wouldn’t be the case. After all, these are creatures of a different world...one where our perception of rules and regulations do not match up to their desires. Furthermore, to answer the second portion of your question, they have powerful variants of themselves. As mentioned, these creatures are formless, but they will take the appearance of whatever they need to in order to get the best results. Nothing...is off limits to them.” "I'm sorry... what?" Sieg was taken back by this statement. Were these monsters or parasites? Nothing he had ever encountered in his travels sounded as dangerous as these things, and Eric was going to throw in complete amateurs head first into this? Sure, that was the way Sieg was thrown into this, but he was magically enhanced by a dragon. These Jaegers likely wouldn't last a fortnight at best. His thoughts were interrupted by the cat woman looking at him once more. This time, he couldn't doubt it, she was looking at him. Why would a beautiful woman--- Jaeger--- look at him? He felt his cheeks heating up and he quickly averted his eyes, focusing back on the mission. Now he was acting like a teenager... how disgraceful for a 'Dragon Slayer'. Didn't he just tell himself he wouldn't fall for her wiles? Other people began to question how they were supposed to fight these monsters, to which Sieg had to agree. He had no clue why they were... Oh gods, Eric was putting him on babysitting duty, wasn't he? Great, just great. Before he could spiral down this line of thought, however, he saw some motion. The cat woman had taken off her shawl and let her hair flow free. Damn, as if she wasn't distracting before. Sieg reached behind him and sloppy placed his cloak back on, doing his absolute best to get his face covered by his hood. Last thing he need was to have people seeing him blush. He needed to at least look the part of a mighty Dragon Slayer. "Do you really think that you can do something as grand as saving the world with children?" Lopt asked. "Oh, I'm curious about that to," Sieg muttered as he tried to calm himself down. Soon, however, all the questions were asked, and Eric had dismissed them. “Well, it was nice to meet you all. I’m sure we’ll all get to know each other real well by the end of this. I’m going to head to the sparring arena if anyone wants to follow? Gotta work off this breakfast somehow, I think.” It seemed the raven and its human host were ready to train. Well, as much as Sieg didn't like the idea of them going into battle, he would make sure that he would help them be ready. "Uh...ah...well, I guess uhh...that was...interesting? Or rather, it was kind of...scary? Or something. Well, I guess it sounds dumb to be scared of a picture, but it was a rather unpleasant picture, right?" The boy with the funny accent was nervous, and Sieg couldn't blame him. "So uhh...what do we do now? Maybe we should...go prepare? Not that I'm saying we should do that, just...yeah. Yeah, so...what do you all think? I guess, of what just happened. We're working together now, right? To prevent Grimm's destruction...that makes us heroes!" he started to get excited. "Yeah, heroes. But, uhh, it sounds like it's going to be difficult. And pretty dangerous. I guess that means we'll have to work hard, right? Or maybe...not so hard? At least, I think it'd involve working hard. Not that I'm saying any of us are weak, just...well it's a pretty big task, at least, that's what I think." "Heroes, huh?" Sieg spoke up with a soft chuckle and small smile. "That does sound nice," He quickly shifted back to his stoic (or attempt to be, anyways) self. "But, what Lopt brought up earlier is a valid point. Even if you were gathered here by Jekyll, don't feel as if you need to throw your lives away. You have your whole lives ahead of you," He paused, considering if he should extend his offer. "Truth is, usually Jekyll will just point me in a direction and tell me to get something done, and I'll do it. That's how it's been for the past two years. The fact that he thought it was necessary to call on all of you and place me in this team means he truly believes this is very dangerous. So if we're on a mission and you think it's too dangerous for you, feel free to hide behind me, and use me as your shield. That's what I'm here for," He stood up, moving to the door. "If you don't think you can fight, it'll be best to head to the training area. I'll do my best to help you out, if you need it. It'll just... take like... half an hour for me to show up... so... no rush," Well, this was now officially awkward for him. And he just sounded decently cool to. He headed out the door, walking down the hall, taking off his cloak as he did. He needed a haircut, his damn hair was all the way back down to his knees again. He passed by Alex, who was standing by a painting. "I...really don't like any of this...what do you think? ...do you have any bright ideas?" the Jaeger asked. Sieg shook his head. "Greg there's a good listener, but if he can answer, he hasn't answered me yet," Sieg spoke up. "Anyways, you should head into the training room in half an hour. We gotta see if you're one that protects, or gets protected," With that, he headed further down the hall. Time to get this unruly hair down to a semblance of control.
  10. "Okay, buddy, buddy, lemme level with you," I say as I take out my wallet and pull out the money. "You can rob me right now and get all of 25 dollars, or, you can take me and my partner here to whoever runs this place, and hit the jackpot. I'm talking name your price level of jackpot. There's something big going on in town, and I need some help, so I came here. What'll it be? 25 bucks and a card, or literally naming your own price?"
  11. Zirco looked over his shoulder, seeing that the plan had worked and that the cops were chasing him. This worked out just fine for him. "Tora!" his voice cracked through the radio. "We're gonna make these two chase us for as long as we can before we duel them! Try to put as much distance between us and the others as we can!" He looked over his shoulder. "Let's try to avoid a two vs two, okay?" He said as he sped up, slowly putting distance between him and the others. Jet would find that no one else was on the other side of his call, Gil not picking up at the moment. Was it because he to was arrested? Perhaps he was taken by the cult. Perhaps, and likely the most reasonable answer, was that he had fall asleep as he waited for them. The road they were taking was leading them to a grand stadium, one that stretched into the sky, and looked as if it could fit a million people, but it was also one that was devoid of people. Well, it wasn't completely devoid of people. In fact, they could see someone entering it as they pulled up to the massive building. "...Is the Arena is still going strong? I'd like to stop by there again. I just wanna know if it's worth the trip." The cashier shrugged, clearly disinterested. "Last I heard, yeah, but I don't listen for that kinda shit," the cashier admitted. After that, some other girl had a bunch of questions, which he answered as lazily as he could. Finally, there was an end to the questioning. "We're here looking for him. We have matters to discuss." "Yeah, you and the entire underworld of Hearthome," The cashier muttered. "You're gonna get hurt if you keep chasing 'im down," "So, y'all gettin' anythin'?" "Yeah, are ya? I ain't getting paid to answer tourists' questions," the cashier quipped. Suddenly, the Panta that Octivia had grabbed was snatched by a man with blue hair wearing very normal jeans and a t-shirt who carried a sleeping girl with white hair dress in a lolita styled dress on his shoulders. He cracked open the drink, chugging it all down in one go before tossing it over his shoulder, the drink landing in a trash can behind the counter. "Alright, ladies and assholes of Hearthome," He called out. "The store's having a bargain sale right now, it's called grab whatever the hell you came in here for and get the hell out!" "That time already, huh?" The cashier muttered as he stood up, heading out from behind the counter and heading out the door. The other customers quickly complied, grabbing food they wanted and rushing out the door. The man in questioned folded his arms and waited for the group from Kaiba Corps to get their stuff and leave.
  12. "Alright, we'll see you all tomorrow!" >Head to the Slums
  13. "Oh, and yes," Cat addressed the three that had returned from the basement. "You three haven't eaten yet. Here is some food." Shiro nodded, taking the food in his hands. "Thank you very much," He said with a bow. "Your kindness humbles me," He then moved back away from the other slightly, finding a nice corner of the room and sitting down, crossing his legs as he began to eat the food. It wasn't very flavorful, but it was fine. It was better than nothing, or the slop that was called food back in the city. Still, eating these rations made him realize he missed good Frog cooking. However, it wasn't like he could actually make any of the food. Even as a slave, he never set foot in the kitchen... the humans believed he would try to sneak some 'frog slime' into the food, and so he was forbidden from handling food. Even when returning to the village, he was far to depressed to function for the longest time. His grip tightened on his food as his thoughts wandered. This was a bad time to be thinking about the past. He forced those memories down as he forced himself to finish eating. He had work to do. "So what is the plan?" He finally asked after eating.

  15. Kazo looked on at the destruction that Zekrom had caused. It was by far the most powerful attack he had ever seen. "Ah, I missed, too bad. Still a bit stiff from all that time as a statue I guess." Zekrom then punched his fists together and smiled. "Just means I got to work out the kinks." And with that, Zekrom fired a bolt of lightning at the young dragon. Kazo moved to dodge the attack, but he wasn't quite fast enough, and the attack grazed his side. He couldn't believe the odd feeling he felt. It was somewhat painful, and his muscles were clenching. Was this what it felt like when normal people were hit by electricity? He grabbed his side, letting his body adjust slightly as the legendary went to attack Mac and Ari. As Mac aimed at one of Zekrom's legs, Kazo rushed up, using Slash on Zekrom's other leg. Hopefully, the two of them working together could topple Zekrom, even if only for a few moments.

  23. Much to Shiro's surprise, the wooden door didn't burn at all. In fact, it seemed rather fire resistant. Well that wasn't suspicious at all. "Uh... Well... That didn't quite work..." "Indeed," Shiro muttered. "Sienna, Shiro, you are needed upstairs." Well, it seemed the call to return had been given, so they didn't have time to stick around here. As they turned to leave, Shiro looked at the door one more time. What secrets could it be holding? It bothered him so much. But it also worried him. If they found a key, then he would have to enter the room first, to make sure no traps went off. He couldn't let anyone else do that... Soon, the whole group was gathered. "Well, we confirmed that the mayor pissed off a hag by telling her to leave when she wanted to stay here, and she's probably what cursed the town. Aside from that, I also found a letter "O" in the old man's dresser." Alois explained. "well, see, I found lots too! Well, Sienna and Shiro and I all found lots! Like in one wall we found a lot of these really weird and badly drawn triangles." Tsetseg explained. "five of them! Oh, wait. Six! There was a bigger one on another wall!" "Badly drawn triangles?" "Yeah, yeah. See they were like," the girl then began to pose with her fingers. "See, whoever drew it didn't put the bottom way too high. Maybe they never learned their shapes." "That's the letter A." Alois commented with the exact amount of humor that Shiro was feeling at the second. "Alois knows how to read?!" "I think I'm beginning to understand why the Pelinna Patrol was so willing to part with you," Shiro muttered to himself. “Um, if you haven't shown it or brought it up yet, and,” the merchant spoke up “if everyone’s here, do you wanna show ‘em the key we found?” "Well, if you found a key, we found a wooden door, one that doesn't burn. Perhaps the key goes to that door?" Shiro commented. He hoped to god it did.
  24. "A course of action, yes. But it's getting late as is, and I got something else I need to do tonight," I comment. "We could meet here tomorrow, say, at noon?"
