  2. "I guess we'll go there then. But I'm not boxing. Not in a thousand years. I'll enjoy watching you getting punched though." She finished with a cheeky laugh as she hopped onto her broom. "Well, let's get going." Cyan simply rolled his eyes. "You're no fun." He simply said, following the girl out the door. The two of them made their way towards the stadium. Cyan thought he saw someone familiar in the crowd, but didn't think much of it. Especially since he didn't have any time to take a good look. "Well, what are you waiting for?" Cyanthrax let out a growl. "Go get your little boxing match. I don't want to have to deal with those troglodytes again." "Alright, alright, I'm going! Fuckin' hell..." He said, rolling his eyes as he made his way to the reception desk. "Set me up with a boxing match." He commanded the person behind the desk, crossing his arms. "And make sure it's your strongest guy. There's no fun in it if I just steamroll over some insects."
  3. Ivan pumped his fist as the Arm Thrust managed to K.O. the Lepash. "Good goin' Po!" The Pancham smirked smugly, breathing heavily from exhaustion. "You should rest up, ya did good." Ivan was having a hard time hiding his excitement. This was the first battle he had won since he got on this trip, and it felt amazing. Granted, it was a Battle Royal and not quite a one on one, but it was something. "I lost." Ivan turned to Jacklyn, who didn't seem to be taking losing all too well. Before he could say anything, though, she got back to her happy demeanor. "well, way to go Ivan! I knew a member of my team could do it. But as your captain, I won't lose next time!" Ivan simply nodded, turning to the other party. "A shame you were born with those things." What the hell was this punk talking about? Ivan would probably bark at the shrimp if he weren't in such a good mood. "You won, so here's from me to you. Enjoy." Ivan took the money, tossing the coins a bit, before turning back to Oswald. "I'll be coming back for it, tenfold! So don't go spending it just yet." Ivan simply smirked slightly. "I'd like to see you try, punk." Ivan simply said, turning back to Jacklyn. Who had just been struck by the Hoppip in the other girls arms. "H-Hey!" Ivan shouted, running over and picking the Hoppip up. He couldn't help but chuckle though. "A fighter... I'd ask you to join my team but..." He turned back to the other group. "It looks like you're with someone else."
  4. "Well, I have to say...you are definitely hard to find, miss Rose." As the two were dueling, Hoshiko heard someone call to her. Turning around, she saw who she could only assume was the Rider from yesterday's duel, now out of costume. "Am I? Funny, I've been told the opposite." She responded, walking over to the boy with a smile on her face. "I was just over here watching this duel and-" As she turned around to point at the duel, it was basically over, as Jun commanded her dragon shot one last beam of light at the boy, reducing his life points to 0. "...well, I was watching the duel, anyways." She giggles a bit, before turning back to the boy. "So... since you were looking for little old me and all, there must be something you want." She said, putting her hands in her jacket pockets. "Don't worry, I don't charge for autographs~!" She said playfully, winking at the boy.
  5. "Not while I've got anything to do about it!" the girl spat, trying her best to get up and keep fighting despite the painful ringing in her ears and the gravity pinning her down. Suda shook his head as he reached over, searching the girl for a badge. Much to his surprise, the girl had 2 of them. Score! "Give those back!" Suda chuckled, putting the extra badges away. "We should get going." Suda said to Hibiki, ignoring the girl as he walked away. Hibiki seemed to be on the same page, both of them walking away from the girl. "Wait!" she called out as Suda would have turned, though. "Your name. I want to know who humiliated me like this." Suda gave the girl a smirk, pointing a thumb at himself. "Suda Hiroharu, the one and only." "Suzume Tachibana. Don't forget it." "Suzume Tachibana... not bad." The silver haired boy said, the orb disappearing completely. He turned to Hibiki, scratching his chin. "That little fight took a bit longer than I'd like... we should probably hustle to get the rest of these badges." He said, looking around the area, groaning slightly. "At this rate beetle has a good shot at beating me." He shook his head.
  6. Cherie couldn't help but burst into laughter when the small bear entered the scene, claiming to be the headmaster. She started laughing even more when the bear talked about some game they were playing. She had to hand it to the place, they were really good at setting up jokes. There was something tickling the back of her mind, though. The way the bear was speaking about trapping them in a sick murder game so joyously, the lack of any apparent way to escape... They were very committed to the prank, which Cherie could admire! She took a look around as everyone was in horror. Cherie shrugged; sure, the joke itself wasn't very funny. Heck, it didn't even have a punchline! But the effort put into the joke itself was something that only Cherie seemed to appreciate. Well, her and one other - a girl in a raincoat, who asked the bear for a gun. She seemed to understand the joke - that, or she was a killer - but she didn't look like a killer. Cherie laughed as she honked her nose, before making her way towards the tablets practically skipping. "Don't worry Mr. Kuma, I liked your joke!" She said smiling, before her face turned into fake fear. "I-I mean oh no, how could you~!" She let out a small giggle as she picked up one of the handbooks. She turned to the other individual that was next to the bear, who seemed to not be very fond of the bears joke. Devin said something that caught her fancy, though. "A party? That sounds like a great idea!"
  7. 3 mana 3/4 Battlecry: Your hero can't be targeted by spells or Hero Powers until your next turn. An interesting tech option that, at worst, is a 3/4 for 3. Seems pretty good honestly. Obviously if there's no Pyro to face or other sort of spell slinging combo deck around then this is not going to see play, but that's the nature of tech cards. Not much else to say, honestly. Really solid tech card.
  8. 5 Mana Spell Deal 1 damage to all minions. (Upgrades each turn!) Could be a replacement for Volcano in Control Shaman as a board clear, although I am unsure how to feel about it. While it has incredible potential, if not drawn early I feel like this will more than likely end up being a dead draw. Pretty devastating if you get it early against aggro though, so not sure how to proceed.
  9. 0 Mana Spell Spend all your Mana. Destroy a minion with that much Attack or less. Very flexible card like the old Forbidden cards before. This will usually go equal in terms of mana depending on what you destroy, sometimes you need to spend 1 extra mana. This also has to be the last card you play on the turn since it spends all of your mana, although I don't think that'll be much of an issue. I think its might be ok enough to run, as it compared pretty good against Shadow Word: Pain. I can see Death and Words being run together in a control deck, although we'll have to see if control priest becomes a thing after the rotation.
  10. 3 mana 1/5 Combo: Add two random Lackeys to your hand. Lackeys so far An interesting card that grants value. While not spells specifically, it does still add 1 Mana cards to your hand which is at least good enough to proc any other Combo cards you have in your hand. Sadly they're not spells so the potential for some miracle shenanigans seem meh since this doesn't activate Gadgetzan. Still kinda cool, really depends on the rest of the set if Rogue can pull off a value deck or any deck that has a spot for this, as the current Pirate list that will probably survive the new era will probably not run this.
  11. 8 Mana Spell Twinspell Summon five 2/2 Treants. Not too surprised to see more Treant support, since that's more or less what Druid has left in terms of a theme at the moment. I'm not sold on this being a particularly strong card - yes you get 10/10 worth of stats for 8 mana twice, but its distributed in a poor way imo. Like it's better for Savage Roar, but this is too slow for any Token deck I feel. We'll have to see the rest of the Treant support this set gives us, but I'm not feeling this one. Twinspell is a cool keyword though.
  12. 10 mana 4/12 Dragon Your first spell each turn costs (0). Battlecry: Discover a spell. Coin Kalecgos Concede, the new Prep Coin. This seems pretty strong to me, even if you get a relatively weak spell off of Kalecgos and you don't have any in your hand it can still be kinda strong. I'm pretty sure most of the time that you play Kalecgos though, you probably have the spell you want to use in your hand if you're playing Control Mage. Still, it's nice to have the option to just get something with this. Hell, you don't even need to cast a spell with this necessarily - just adding a spell to your hand is pretty good.
  13. 7 Mana 6/6 Battlecry: If your deck is emply, summon 6/6 Greasefire Elementals. An interesting card that I can't really see working unless the meta becomes very control vs control honestly. Rogue could do some shenanigans with this and Myra's Unstable Elemental though - just draw everything, play this potentially on curve for a huge tempo swing, and then either win on the spot or refill the deck with Espionage if you didn't drop it on curve. Not sure if it would be meta defining since its kinda high rolly and control can probably clear the board, but hey sometimes they cant and you win.
  14. 7 Mana 7 / 8 Taunt Battlecry: Replace your hand and deck with Legendary minions. This seems pretty strong, being a Golden Monkey without having to go through hoops like the Golden Monkey. It's also pretty well stated as a 7/8 Taunt for 7. I can see this being a capstone in something like Zoo as a backup plan if the game goes too long, transforming your deck of chumps into giant Legendaries. Even in control I could see this being pretty nice, maybe in some type of mid-range Warlock? I like the call back to League of Explorers.
  15. Trailer | Cinematic | Site Release Date: 4/9/2019 The newest Hearthstone Expansion was announced just today, Rise of Shadows! And not only that, but we learn that the year will revolve around this League of E.V.I.L. and their shenanigans. This set specifically takes place in Dalaran. More importantly though, we get the return of Rafaam, the Supreme Archeologist! And I guess we're also getting some interesting mechanics, I guess. Lackeys Lackeys are very much like Spare Parts, non-collectable cards that can be generated with cards such as the EVIL Miscreant. They're essentially 1 mana spells that come with a 1/1 body, which is pretty neat. I like that we have the evolve mechanic outside of Shaman now due to Witchy Lackey. We'll have to wait and see what other Lackey generators we have in the rest of the set. Most importantly though, we're getting more lackeys in future sets this year to fit in with the League of E.V.I.L. Schemes Schemes are cards that become stronger the longer you hold them. For example, Hagatha's Scheme gains 1 more damage for each of your turns that it stays in your hand. It'll be interesting to see what the other scheme cards are, as the mechanic is quite interesting itself. Twinspell Twinspell is a new keyword that reminds me of Echo in a way, although it is much different as it is usable with cards that cost more than 5 mana. Essentially when you cast a spell with Twinspell, you get a 2nd copy of the spell to your hand (without Twinspell, of course). This spell you can hold and use whenever you please. Something interesting to note is that the 2nd copy seems to go in your hand where the first one was, which is important for hand tracking and certain cards like Stargazer Luna. Callback Cards We're getting a few "callback" cards that bring back old mechanics into the new set, like Forbidden Words echoing the Forbidden Mechanic from Whisper of the Old Gods. I wonder how far back / close by the callback cards will go - will we see Spare Parts return? Maybe we'll get something more recent like Adapt or Echo. We'll have to wait and see. I'll be keeping this thread updated with news as the expansion rolls out.
  16. Raijin immediately jumped onto the bed, stretching as he laid on the bed. It wasn't the best, but he wasn't about to complain. As he laid there on the bed, he turned to the ceiling, just thinking about the crazy day he was having. He couldn't help but smirk, though: after all the bullshit he had to endure, for once things were looking up. He had no idea what exactly they were going to do, but that didn't matter. He was finally free. As he thought about what he was going to do with his money, he closed his eyes, starting to drift off. When he was about to fall asleep, however, he heard the door open and words. He couldn't make out what his roommate was saying, as she was talking too fast. He was also greeted by a damp shirt hitting his face. "Fuck!" Raijin shouted, sitting up straight as the wet, cold shirt dropped from his face onto his lap. He didn't even have time to say anything to the girl - by the time he had processed everything, the door was already closed. "God fucking..." He said, tossing the shirt across the room. He let out a sigh as the shirt landed on the corner of a table. Maybe he'd go do something with the others; weren't they having a duel in the garage? He could also go give his roommate a scolding. He laid in bed, thinking about what he was gonna go do.
  17. Morgan looked up to Cyanthrax. Her eyes flicked over to Aria, who was still shouting at him. Cyanthrax simply rolled his eyes, ignoring the girl's shouts. "Well, apparently." She tapped the watch where the message had been. "Staircases are all the rage." She spoke with sarcasm so thick he was surprised she didn't suffocate then and there. "Xia seems to think sports and casinos are the way to go. Has she seen me? I'm so not a sporty girl." She looked up at Cyan. "Unless you wanted to make it interesting somehow." "Casino and sports..." He said, scratching his chin. "Well I used to do a bit of gamblin' myself, never really into it though. Was mainly an excuse to drink with..." He shook his head. "Sports, on the other hand, are a bit more interesting. A lot less violent than I'd like, but it's something" He turned back to Morgana, taking a good look at her. "...'not a sporty girl' is a fuckin' understatement." He shook his head. "How ya do anything without collapsing is beyond me." He sighed, glancing back towards Aria. "Fuck it, we'll do some boxing or something." He turned to Morgana. "The spat with the shrimp has got me fired up, and that's the closest thing we've got to fightin' today I reckon. I'll even let ya do yer magic bullshit."
  18. Alpha Team Karaoke Grimm nodded at the two gijinka, bowing towards Gwen. "Then I wish you all the best." The rest of the waved as the group headed out of Lok's house. Lok had forgotten how big Gwen's house was. He let out a whistle as the group stepped inside the titanic building. Lok waved as Gwen's mother greeted him, chuckling as she mistook Nine as Gwen's boyfriend, before following her through the house. As they went inside, Lok noticed the house was rather messy. This concerned him, although his attention was brought towards Gwen's mother, who had just called for her other daughters. They entered the room and, almost immediately, came floating by towards Lok and Nine. "Oh hello Lok, it's been so long, why don't you ever write?" They both said, Lok rubbing the back of his head. "I've been busy... a bit too busy if you ask me." He said, shrugging. The two ghosts them seemed to shift their attention to Nine. Lok simply rolled his eyes, floating towards Gwen who had her face buried in her hand. "Ain't he a popular one." He said, before turning his attention back to Nine. "it certainly is a sweet place." Looking to Lok he followed saying, "isn't it?" "It sure is, Nine." He simply said, turning around. "Just as big as I remember it..." Southshore Forest Team Showdown "We haven't...really...done out job yet." Isole muttered. She wasn't wrong, exactly. But they had done what she expected to be the hard part of the mission. "I know." She said as Isole started feeding berries to Taiga. "We need to rest first, though." She said, turning to Zygarde, who was looking at her. "You...three. You have been together long?" She asked Scarlet. "You must be here for a reason. No one seeks me out without a goal in mind. You're no simple Chasers, correct?" Scarlet simply nodded. "We've been sent by Rayquaza to get you." She said simply, clearing her throat. "Ever since Volcanion parted the world has been going to shit. Ever since those Godslayers started popping up..." She gestured towards Zygarde before continuing. "Me and my companions have been sent around to gather Legends to stop these bastards from whatever the hell they're planning." "I ask you to please come with us and help us stop these lunatics." She extended her pincer towards Zygarde. "Please..."
  19. Alpha Team Karaoke "I'm Nine, a pleasure to meet you." Madeline let out a small squeak, hiding behind Lok a bit as Nine turned to her. "I've been accompanying these two," he gestured to Lok and Gwen, "for quite some time now." With a bit of joking smile on his face he said, "he can be a bit of a handful sometimes, but I'll say you've both raised a fine boy here." "H-Hey!" Lok said, causing Madeline and Paradia to chuckle a bit, although Grimm's didn't seem to budge as his stare continued to glare at the group, specifically at Nine now. "Trust me, I know he can be." Paradia said softly, tilting her head and causing Lok to object again. "I must thank you for taking care of our sweet summer child during his... trip." She said, bowing again. "Is he like you and Gwe-" Madeline started speaking, before stopping herself. "u-uh, your body guard?" She smiled sweetly, a bit nervously at the Lok. "I guess you could say that..." Lok said, shrugging, not quite catching Madeline's slip up. "As he said that's Nine. The other girl is Kayla she, well, she's a bit shy you see. It's nice to see you. Lok has been through so much and has dealt with it quite admirably." She smiled fondly at the young man. "I hope you don't mind us borrowing your son like this." Paradia frowned a bit, although it was hard to see it through her veil. She seemed to be ready to object, but then Grimm finally spoke, his glance shifting to Gwen. As it did, it seemed to get ever so slightly less intense. "Of course not." He simply said, nodding slightly. "B-But, honey..." Paradia began, before Grimm turned to address her, his gaze radically becoming less intense, as he placed his arm on her shoulder. "I... I still have unfinished business, Mom." Lok said, a bit sad. He was hoping to stay around longer, that maybe his journey had come to a close. But he knew that what he said was true - he had to keep going. "Just... promise me you'll be safe." "Of course." The two ghosts gave each other a hug. Meanwhile, Grimm had turned to the group again, although his gaze seemed to be locked onto Nine. "My son's life is back in your arms. You have done a commendable job keeping him out of harms way." His gaze became more intense as his tone became more grave. "Make sure it stays that way." Southshore Forest Team Showdown Scarlet clutched her chest as she reeled back from the strike. As she had wanted, all of her allies attacks had hit the Crobat while they were clashing, to the point where she started coughing up blood. Suddenly, the wind around Veronica intensified, causing Scarlet to tumble back on the ground and, as she slid on the dirt, Veronica darted to the skies with impressive speed. "We... we did it..." Scarlet said, shakily picking herself up. The battle had been won, and her adrenaline had worn off. She was starting to truly feel the toll of the fight as she barely managed to walk towards the rest of the group. And then she saw Taiga collapse. "T... Taiga!" Scarlet shouted, awkwardly making her way towards her friend. When she finally go there, she saw that the Sharpedo had definitely taken a beating herself. "No no no..." She muttered, crouching down, before letting out a sigh of relief when she was still breathing. "Now...what?" Scarlet turned to Isole, before turning to Zygarde. "We go now." Zygarde said at last. "With me." She planted a foot firmly on the ground and pened up an earthy set of stairs heading underneath the forest floor. She started going down, paused, turned back. "Follow me." She said and continued on her way. "I'm not carrying her." Isole told Scarlet bluntly, pointing with a foot towards Taiga. Scarlet simply chuckled, picking up Taiga to the best of her abilities. The Sharpedo felt heavier now that Scarlet was weakened, but the Scizor had just enough strength left in her to carry her companion. Zygarde led them through pitch black tunnels before they came into a small opening that looked to be some sort of living space. The Legend crouched down by some sort of wooden storage chest and started pulling out what appeared to be food, a bit more down to earth food than what Rayquaza had been giving them. "Food, it's for you." Scarlet nodded, looking around for a place to put down Taiga. "Thank you... Zygarde." Scarlet said, eventually finding a good place to put her companion down. She turned to the berries and roots, grabbing one of the berries and taking a small bite out of it. She was glad that they were able to calm the legend down, although Veronica still lingered in her mind. She couldn't believe that the Crobat they had met and helped them was one of those maniacs. She shook her head, before turning back to Zygarde and Isole. "We should rest up a bit before reporting back to the others." She said, laying down on the floor and allowing herself to Roost.
  20. Po stood proudly as the last swing of his arm took down the Rockruff. "Good job, Po!" Ivan turned over to Jacklyn and Rus, with them being the last trainers standing. A bit ironic, considering this was the plan before they met this other trio of trainers. Regardless, it was the situation they found themselves in. Ivan pointed his finger at Rus, not missing a beat. "Po, Arm Thrust!" Ivan commanded, the small panda nodding as it started charging forward. Ivan's eyes were more intense than they usually were, feeling the rush of adrenaline. They were so close to winning this thing, Ivan could taste victory.
