  1. Public Sports Stadium (Cyanthrax/Xia) Valerie gave an excited laugh as Cyanthrax came at her. Said laugh was cut off halfway by a buzzing alarm on the watch on her wrist. Valerie glanced at it while backing away to try and avoid Cyanthrax's swings. "I know I know. Just not right now." She muttered as she took one punch to the head. She recovered quickly to throw another punch which Cyanthrax blocked, and a second which he didn't, and the alarm went off again louder. "Argh, fine, fine!" Valerie said and, as Cyanthrax went for another punch, grabbed his flaming fist with her hand. "Hey, looks like I gotta head out quicker than I thought. But I'll be right over in the tennis court if you wanna watch." She pushed back and hopped over the ropes. Taking off at a sprint the moment her feet touched the ground. Leaving Cyanthrax standing there on his own. Morgan got up onto the ring, though didn't step through the ropes. "I think you got stood up." She remarked. Then she waved a hand and formed a rain cloud over the demon's head, which proceeded to put out the flames around the man's hands. "Did you want to check that out?" Back in the tennis court the two could barely hear Xia's voice. Cam winced and gingerly waved back as Valerie gave an energetic wave followed by a thumbs up. The two competitors, one in sporting clothes, the other a maid outfit, got into position on opposite sides of the court. "Alright Cammy, game on!" Valerie kicked off the match with a fast and powerful serve. The ball moved so fast that the audience could barely even see it. Most watching would assume that the maid, who was still standing there awkwardly, wouldn't be able to reach it. However something seemed to shift in the maid and they suddenly made a leap to the side and hit the ball back. With force that Xia would be reminded of from her own game with Valerie. Valerie wasn't able to recover quite in time and Cam managed to score a point. There was a silence for a moment and then a loud cheer as Valerie flashed the maid a thumbs up. "Knew you had it in ya." From there on the game got even more intense. Camille didn't seem too skilled but they were moving just as fast as Valerie and each of their hits were twice as strong. Valerie was only able to keep up due to her greater experience and managed to keep the game about even. It was Valerie's serve when the audience would be able to notice something unusual about the match. The entire stage was shimmering, as though looking out the door at intense heat, and it was clearly causing some effect on the maid as they started to slip up more. "How about I kick it up a notch." Valerie called out and, like before, hit the ball with practiced ease. Only this time the ball became engulfed in flame and moved even faster than before. Camille, letting out a surprised gasp, raised their hand and a substance reminiscent of a fire extinguisher came out and covered the ball. Slowing it and killing the flames which allowed Camille to hit it back like normal. Valerie didn't seem bothered by this. In fact she only grew more excited. "That's it! Now it's a real match!" "That's dangerous, Valerie!" Cam called out. "You gotta be more careful." "That's what makes it fun though!" Tegur's bar "A-anyways, yeah. Masaru said he was feelin' sick so I said I could take him to the hospital and to meet me here. After that I dunno, probably figure it out from there." Tegur grunted and looked to the boy. "Not used to this place yet are yee? Yeah, I got mighty sick meself when I first got here. Almost sneezed the whole place down gwahahaha!" He slapped the bar. "Well the hospital ain't too far from here, especially if you take a taxi. Iffn ye want to come back here after I'll be here all day. Millie too, ain't that right lass?" The girl, who had paused in her work to listen in, gave a jump. "Uh, yes, yes sir." She said. "Excuse me." Tegur gave a chuckle. "You kids sure make my day more interestin'." He nodded at Masaru and Aria. "You be sure to keep yourselves outta trouble. Don't want to make this old heart worry gwaaaahahahaha!" Mauvache sighed as she read the note, such an archaic form of communication, again. "She really just up and left did she?" With a sigh the woman leaned back in her chair and considered her options. Finally settling....there. "DHG...such a quaint little organization. But which one should I bring here? Hm, many of them are far too volatile and rebellious...but her, she should do just fine." The woman put her hand out to the side and sparks danced along her palm. "Just fine indeed." ------------- "Welcome, Ross, to my grand Arena!" Mauvache said with a flourish. Having decided to meet the girl in the virtual battlefield room that she had talked to the others in person this time. She still gave the same speech, the same explanation, but finished it a bit differently. "Now I've had to deal with many problematic employees lately. I hope that you won't be one of them. I expect great things from you and you can expect great things in return. So long as you do as I ask of course."

  3. Team Alola, Day 27, Trailsau "I'm Marie, and I was sent by your dad to make sure you're alright. And you clearly aren't!" "You talked to daddy?" One of the girls said, pausing to look back again. "Who cares! We can talk about that AFTER we beat up Heatran." "Yeah! After!" The girls didn't seem intent on stopping. In fact they were getting close to the top of the volcano now. Maria and Nani had been able to get closer but it was obvious that, unless something was done about the Sandstorm, or if they didn't manage to get through it fast enough, they wouldn't catch up before the girls reached the top. Meanwhile down at the city itself the fights were now broken up into multiple pockets, with attacks crossing over to everyone else's fights here and there, and Randy would have to find a way to fend away the Gijinka while making his way through. Team Karaoke, Day 37, Alpha "Hmph." The Dusknoir scoffed as Lok followed him. "You really do bring trouble wherever you go don't you?" Said trouble was easy to find. Not because there was a crowd but because there was no one beyond the two. They stood in front of what appeared to be a burned down building. Or rather one stood. The enforcer was standing above Kayla, a dark blade outstretched to her neck as she was on the ground. Held up only by her arms. "What is happening here, Enforcer?" Gwen's father asked as they reached the two. The Bisharp didn't look up. "I found her sneaking around. Going places none are allowed to enter." Kayla noticed Nine, Lok, and trailing behind looking rather uncomfortable, Gwen, approaching behind the Dusknoir. "They have...assassin group's hideout, underneath." She pointed at the burned down building. "Hidden in there." The Enforcer pressed the blade a bit closer. "What is in there is ours to keep. No one, not even those here, are supposed to enter. It is a sacred place." The mayor crossed his arms and turned to the group. "There was a group there, yes, we kept them safe. And they helped us when we were attacked. But those bastards from Omega attacked and forced them out. The place is a shrine now. Entering it is forbidden. Your companion has broken our rules and abused their status as a guest. What do you have to say for yourselves?" Team Showdown, Day 30, Rayquaza's Pad "Shouldn't you be in bed? Well...good thing you didn't. We need to talk." Isole shuddered as she felt a hand on her shoulder. The look she gave when she turned was intense and dark. Full of malice. But it only lasted a brief moment as she pulled away from Taiga's touch and her expression shifted back into her natural state of apathy. "I don't sleep much anyway." She said. "Do we really need to talk? Or do you just want to?" She looked away from the girl, grabbing her arm awkwardly. "Hurry up. I want to...not be here...for too long." Isole furrowed her brow. Really? That was the best she could do? Then again she wasn't sure why she didn't want to be there. But every moment she floated there waiting for Taiga to finish whatever she wanted she would get more bristly. Team Mac, Day 23, Ogren Mac was floating. Floating through the water. Sun beating down and warming her. Just floating...and then a wave came. A massive wave which lifted her from her safe place and through her towards the rocks. Her eyes fluttered open as she crashed into a chair and tipped it over. Rolling to her feet she jumped up and put her fists up. "Alright who did that? Was it you? Looking at me all funny you wanna go?" She was looking around wildly and it was hard to tell exactly who she was talking about. Laura, the Leafeon, came up to her hesitantly. "U-um, s-sorry if you're not enjoying yourself." She said quietly. Mac seemed to deflate as the girl talked and scratched her nose awkwardly. Unable to look at the shy bride without blushing. "Well, it's...not too bad. Um...nice dress." She muttered, clearly out of her element. The Leafeon gave a small smile. "Thank you." Kazo felt a slight chill and Elsa walked beside her. "So you came after all." She said, off-handedly. "Thanks I suppose." She looked over at Mac and Laura. "Our family don't really like all this, so...we didn't have a lotta...a lot of people. I don't really care but I...well, I wanted to give her more." She hesitated then waved her hand dismissively. "Of course this isn't much at all. We should have much more than this, parades, fireworks, thousands of people....But I guess even someone like I have to settle sometimes." Team Neo Not Dark, Day 33, Since Life is Sweet Here "Some of the other legendaries are worried about them, so we got sent as errand boys," Gisei stirred a bit at this. "Sent? Why would...perhaps things on the surface are worse than we knew." He glanced over at the soldiers who seemed to be getting suspicious of how long the group was talking to Gisei. "As for being friends, I cannot say. It wouldn't surprise me, Dora makes friends with everyone she meets, yet I'm unsure she ever really met Phione." He shifted a bit, rolling his shoulder, and then finished. "What do you plan to do next? Your goal is likely behind that door but I doubt you'll easily be able to walk in. What comes next?"
  4. "I hope I can return some day, after everything's over." "I'm, um, glad that we were able to um, return things to normal. I hope for things to look up for you all." "And I hope you all can return as well." The elder said. "You're going to be in much danger...survive it. It's too soon in your lives for it to be snuffed out." He seemed saddened for a moment but gave them a smile. "We'll be fine here I'm sure. Go on now." --- Outside of the hut Damien watched and listened as Lindow talked. "and if we fail, the whole realm will be worse off. Though I'm sure you've already gathered that, right?" "Maybe, maybe not, who's to say this whole prophesy business is true or not. But hey, why you trying to convince me, I already said I'd come." He shrugged. "Someone has to keep you all from dying." Once the group was back together Keres explained how the teleportation would work. Like before they each had to be in contact with the device. There would be a dizzying sensation that would abruptly end with them in front of the Council's Tower. Damien, once he got his bearings, would look up at it and groan. "Really? Look, those stuck up pricks might have sent you on this but no way I'm going to step foot in there. You all can go report in but I'm staying out here till you're done. You can pick me up later." As before one of them had to step up to the tower and announce themselves. There was a few minutes of silence before a portal opened up in the side of the tower. No one emerged and it was clear that they were supposed to go inside. Without much enthusiasm Keres was the first to break from the group to enter through the portal. There was a brief chill sensation and they would all emerge into the council's chamber. The room seemed familiar, calling to mind the fight with the Shadow Ghouls from the start of their journey. Except this time it was lighted. And they could see three men sitting up above them. One was Saleh, the blind, grey-skinned Auran that they had met before leaving. The second was a skinny human who was watching them with a slight jeer on his face. The third was a muscular man whose strong arms were crossed over his chest as he looked down at the group with a steady gaze. "You've returned." Saleh said, relief clear in his voice. "Your numbers seem to be lower than they were when you came to us." Came the snide voice of the skinny man to Saleh's left. "Did it really take that many of you to destroy one of the gates? Providing you really did destroy it." Came the disapproving voice of the man to the right. "James, Braxus, cease that." Saleh said with a sigh. "My apologies. My companions are...on edge, you see....I sense something amiss with the Chosen of Ice." "It seems she has a cursed disease in her body." The skinny man, James, said with a wave of his hand. "She'll have to be treated. It will take some time." He sneered at the group. "I take it you will not want to stay here the month it will require." "At this rate we may not have a month left before we're overwhelmed by the evil encroaching at all sides." Braxus said with grunt. Saleh sighed once more. "Chosen, I sense that the gate is indeed destroyed. But if you could tell us yourselves what happened it would be appreciated."

  17. "well, if you don't know what to do, then just pick adventuring!" "You've got luck, girl. Don't squander it." Naomi looked at the two of them. "Mkay then." She said with a shrug. "To 'venture!" She half raised a fist as she said this then flopped back onto Princess. The journey didn't take much longer and they reached the next city as the sun was starting to go down. Skrelp Harbor was incredibly aptly named. The first thing the groups would see upon entry was the large, man-made harbor branching off of the city. Shaped roughly like a U it was created long ago to give ships an entryway into the otherwise rocky sea surrounding the mainland. On the end of one side of this U was a huge lighthouse that, while it looked impressive from far off, looked to be in some disrepair upon closer inspection. The ferry stopped at the other side of the U and the captain welcomed them to the city, handed out a roughly drawn map of the city, and let them go on their way at their leisure. "I'll be here till tomorrow morning." he explained. As the groups left they would see what looked like a crane lowering a net every now and then and pulling out a huge amount of Skrelp that had gotten too close to the harbor itself. The city itself was large, though not as much as the first city they had encountered, but it seemed to not have much beyond the norm besides its marketplace, located near the harbor. The people, while not unfriendly, seemed to almost all have a sense of "I need to be somewhere" and the city, even this late, seemed to be in constant motion. Though it wasn't as packed as a larger city would be there seemed to be always at least someone hurrying down the sidewalks and streets. The team led by Jacklyn would be the first off the ferry. With Jacklyn practically dragging along Belle who seemed to be rather out of it, having fallen asleep while watching her television during the time everyone had been chatting on the deck. Oswald and Kanon, as per usual, would have to wait some time after the group left to be able to get Naomi off of the ferry. When they did she looked around at where they were and stated. "Oh yeah...the world is bigger." Both groups adventure into the mainland of Korova has officially begun. OOC
