It's been a while. I've been tired from work and also into other projects, but I always lurk around at least xD This year I sketched up some of my own characters trying to fit into the Inktober entries. Though I could not afford to do the finished images I usually like to upload (and still managed to not finish the challenge). Ice Cream Man of the Underworld [Continuous Trap] If you control no face-up Effect Monsters and no face-up Trap Cards: You can activate this card from your hand. Once per turn, if a Normal Monster is Special Summoned from the GY; you can draw 1 card. Once per turn, if a card/effect targets 1 Normal Monster in the GY, you can have it target 1 additional Normal Monster. - - - - - I'm torn between wanting this to be quick and wanting it to be immediately usable upon drawing them, so against my usual policy of evading the "activate from hand" shortcuts, I decided to add it to this one. It's a "Card of Safe Return" for vanillas, that's more like a Supply Unit in terms of how often it can draw you stuff... it turns revival effects into double ones for vanillas. The Ice Cream man theme comes from how normal monsters are "vanillas" and from vaguely thinking of Mortos der Soulstealer (from Invader Zim) as a funny thought while I was writing it.... *shrugs*

Pact from the Grave [Spell Card] Target 1 monster in any GY; banish it, and if you do, add 1 Normal Monster from your Deck to your hand with the same Type and Attribute as the target. You can banish this card from your GY to target 1 Normal Monster you control; it gains the following effect. -Once per turn: You can discard 1 card to target 1 monster in your GY with this card's Type and Attribute; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Pact from the Grave" once per turn. - - - - - - - - The main idea was for this to give a vanilla the "Zombie Master" effect, but in the form of a walking "Monster Reincarnation" instead of a "Monster Reborn". It could be used as pure vanilla support, as Gemini support, or you could see if there's vanillas whose Types/Attributes coincide with your favorite hand traps. After all, "Foolish Burial Goods" and any discard cost could help you ditch this card's first effect if you can't operate it. Finally, the first effect technically shouldn't be missing the timing with "Dark Desertapir"...

Figured I'd post the cardless images I've drawn so far just in case anyone wants to use them for cards of their own. Canyon Battleguard Sword Slasher Mass-Production Model Malice Doll of Despair Gemini Metal Elf Identity Theft! Hopping Vampires Toon Swordmistress this one of Hungry Burger and the Bistro Butcher I don't actually have a card in mind for, but feel free to use it for something. The Snake Hairstyles Dark Scorpion Motivator Time Lizard I'll try to remember to add any more images here as I go along

Makyura the Mild Destructor DARK Level 4 [Warrior/Effect] 1600/1200 During the turn this card was sent to the GY, you can activate Traps from your hand. Also, this turn, cards drawn or added to your hand by the effect of a Trap must remain revealed this turn. Traps revealed this way cannot be activated from your hand by this effect. - - - - - - - We know that Makyura's original effect leads to infinite loops. Yet the easy and mostly universal answer of adding a hard OPT clause to it is way too tame to make the card playable for the most part (unless you are going for one of those Fusion Gate plays I guess). So here I offer the idea that you can do it so long as your Legacy of Yatas, Jar of Greeds, and Reckless Greed plays cannot lead into drawing extras for usage right away.

Finally, I have gathered enough Mana to summon an Army! With these 'Trading Cards', I'm sure I will be able to conquer this website! Here's how our war game shall be played. Add up the Attack of all my soldiers, and summon one creature able to take them down! However, you can only summon one monster per round, and their Attack cannot exceed that of 3000. Let's see if this pathetic Website can muster up some good soldiers. Round 1 I'll let you deal with the trash

Happy Halloween everyone. This was something I had in mind to make for a while but I finally buckled down and got them done in time for the holiday. Took a long time to get them all drawn, but I'm glad I went through with it. I always liked Jiangshi in Chinese folklore and I was interested in adding something to the Vampire archetype. Coincidentally, as many Vampire monsters are styled after Castlevania characters, and there happens to be a Jiangshi boss in one of the games, I was able to use its color scheme for my Hopping Vampire. First time I've made a LV Monster. It's another older feature of the game I remember fondly so I wanted to make one of my own. The Hopping Vampires would be unique as the only Zombie-type LV Monsters and the only LV Monsters (unless I'm blind and wasn't paying attention in my research) that summon each other from the graveyard instead of the hand or deck. A bit of a hurdle, but if you can get the LV7 version out on the field you can potentially lock down your opponent's ability to remove cards from their own graveyard. If you see anything that could be improved upon in any of these cards, give me a holler, and I'll see what I can do. In the meantime I'll post the card images in the art gallery, you guys are free to use them for your own cards if you want. Thanks for any feedback and have a Happy Halloween.

Regarding LV3, it wasn't really a suggestion ^^" just acknowledging how it didn't get in the territory of Unizombie and threat with outclassing it. It doesn't need an improvement IMO. As for LV7, yes, giving it a milling effect like LV5, and maybe improve it a bit somehow, would do the trick, as evolving from LV5 means you get an extra mil without needing to Summon a 2nd LV5. Another idea is forcing the opponent to send a card of the declared type from either Deck, hand or field, but that + the mill would effectively be a +2 because this is Zombies we are talking about, and they plus from mils.

Heeyyy~ Long time no see. Any how I love the idea of adapting Normal monsters into Effect monsters. I can see this actually working out some what nicely, as one plays a dedicated Normal monster build you can basically Link off any of the Norms into Link_Spider to make this cards second effect live no matter what... I can see this as a better alternative to Unexpected_Dai for more concentrated norm builds as it doesn't have any restrictions that would make this card hang around in your hand too long. EDIT: Ohh wait.. Any monster from the GY with said type and attribute... That adds a whole new avenue I didn't consider. XD

IMO the drawings look great! LV5 and 7 are totally waifu material. LV3 is less appealing but seems you intended for her physical appearance to be refined, as well as grow on some sizes, as she levels up. I also like the touch of the amulet displaying Level stars, that also match their Levels. For the name, couldn't you have just gone for "Vampire Jiangshi"? The text of the effects can be polished a bit. For example, in LV3, regular OPTs are redundant in "When this card is Normal Summoned" effects since NSs are OPT already. If what you want is for the effect to be used OPT even if you NS multiples of it on a turn, then you will need a hard OPT clause. But IMO if you are running effects to NS multiples, you deserve to be able to use the effect for each NS. Also adding "-Type" when mentioned monster Types is outdated. Nowadays it's written as Warrior monster, Zombie monster, etc. As fr the effects, Zombies like milling effects so you can't go wrong with that. LV3 has some restrictions but that's understandable if you don't want to outclass key Zombies like Unizombie. LV5 is more flexible but it will require a Tribute for its NS or SS if with LV3 or Zombie support, and most likely the latter will be the most effective way to play it and use it as an extender with the extra mill. Not to mention that as Level 5 it can combo with Vampire Sucker to NS it by Tributing an opponent's monster. But the LV7 is the most problematic, IMO. It doesn't provide any set-up, milling or otherwise plusing effect, and the stun effect is a pain because then you would have to keep track of all monsters that were sent to the GY by Zombies. While it's a clever effect, it may be annoying if you want to be serious about cheating. Remembering ED monsters in the GY that were not Summoned properly is tricky enough already. Not saying it's a bad effect, it's just more complicated than it may seem. I don't find it rewarding enough to run it, except as a 1-of on the off chance your LV5 tech in regular Zombie builds gets the chance to evolve into it, and I wouldn't run too many of the LV5. IMO if you give LV7 a milling or removal effect to combine with its stun effect, then you would be onto something, although I'm not sure of what that removal effect could be. Maybe take some tips from Vampire Kingdom and give it a hard OPT destroying effect each time a card is sent from the opponent's deck to the GY? Then it would combo with its current effect as well as other Vampire milling effects.

“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.” -Matthew 12:36 (NIV) Gabriela laughed and called Melissa funny. Which was odd because she wasn’t trying to be. Like, funny how? At the risk of derailing her train of thought, funny how? Like a clown? Was she just meant to play the fool, acting for Gabriela’s amusement? That itself was a weird thought, one that broke through Melissa’s barriers because it was probably true, wasn’t it? Why wouldn’t it be? But before Melissa could ask Gabriela about it, Gabriela was already somewhere else, declaring her inevitable dominance over everyone in the entire school (which seemed a bit excessive) before whipping around and challenging Melissa. “Perhaps we could have a duel sometime. I would like to see which of us is faster.” As if that helped. Didn’t she just say that she didn’t often? That she tried to get them over with as quickly as possible? This was a trap, and Melissa had fallen right into- “Oho? Well, you have a long way to climb to reach his throne, o princess of darkness.” Oh, Jes- NO Had Jun been there the whole time? Melissa tried to run through everything she’d said, wondering what Jun had overheard and what Melissa had only said in her head. The line blurred real quick, which only made Melissa more nervous. There was a duel happening in the background. Melissa didn’t care. More specifically, she didn’t care about that one, but now that Jun was here… ”Nothing says true friendship like a friendly duel between friends. Friendly,” Jun said. She did a little motion with her arms but her sleeves obscured most of it. What was that supposed to mean? Melissa imagined word getting out. She imagined word spreading all over campus and then all of a sudden she was thrust into a spotlight she was in no way ready for, and branching off from there was an endless array of possibilities. Most of them were bad. But on the other hand? If she said no? Word would probably get out anyway, and while “Melissa the Coward” or whatever unfortunate label the greater high school consciousness deigned to give her wasn’t by itself worse than the occasional “weird nun girl” she already got, the additional infamy was not something she wanted to deal with. Not with her (worryingly) increasingly growing list of acquaintances who were infinitely more sociable than her and who Melissa wasn’t entirely positive they wouldn’t gossip. Ashley Rendleman knew who she was! And… And also Gabriela would probably be disappointed. And Melissa would be disappointed in herself. Past all the fear and worrying, Melissa did want to spend more time with her without the hubbub of a dance. Something on her terms. “I guess…” Melissa said, her voice still hedging a bit even if her mind was as close to made up as it was going to get. “But, um, not at an arena or anything like that. Maybe at CoffeeCards? Or at one of our dorms?” She looked back. “Also, hi, Jun. Enjoying the show?”
