  1. Sorry friend, didn't mean to offend.
  2. I really like the cards here. Nothing too strong, nothing too weak, a nice balance of cards. My only concern is the sheer size of the archetype now, which makes it difficult to play other cards. My only real concern is that you have too much shuffling here, at least for one turn. On another note, Bearskin combos extremely well with Eater of Millions, as it doesn't have to shuffle into the Main Deck, meaning if you banish 7 from your ED with Eater, Bearskin puts them back.
  3. Please update your main post with any card changes you make, otherwise people might comment without noticing ? As for the card, it is better. Unfortunately, Link Summoning exists, and this card is PERFECT for it. I'm specifically thinking of Salamngreats, wherein this card can A) dump itself from the hand no matter what Salamangreat you Summon, B) send Salamangreats from your hand to the GY in case you need to use their effect, AND C) grant you two tokens, turning this card and any 2 FIRE monsters into a Skull Dread or Borreload. Even limiting it to FIRE monsters still leaves Knightmare Gryphon and the entire Salamngreat pool. I'd suggest going in another direction, tbh
  4. Hello! Have you ever struggled with: -Being able to make almost any Synchro? -Turning any Level 5+ Deck into an Xyz Deck? -Competing with all the column play in MR4? Well, I have just the card for you! Try new Which Starling, guaranteed to be impossible to bring out in any Deck twice as complicated as it needs to be! Just slap 1 of these bad birds of unspecified gender into your Deck, and you'll be able to use up even more of your limited Extra Deck slots! Now if only Winged Beast had decent support.
  5. @Black was really not expecting this tbqh
  6. Well...that's certainly an intro. Good to see you back!
  7. Another member here making me feel super old ;-; Hope you enjoy your time here, and if you have any comments or questions, don't hesitate to contact us about them. We're just about as new to this site as you are, and are still fiddling about.
  8. Glad to see you've made it! Hope the site works out, and we do still have a Graphics section, under Multimedia. Feel free to post your stuff there!
  9. I dunno, I just found it boring, not necessarily simple. Still, as you say, there's very good mechanics put in place around it, and as I said, it's 2.0. Much better. Galloping Lizard. Restarts Adapt on all creatures you control by removing the counters and boosts himself by twice the number of counters removed. Pr much the best example of how they've made Monstrous good. ---- Arrester's Admonition is very surprising, especially with Dom still in rotation. It's a 3 cost return creatures only, and while the draw can be argued to be slightly easier to get with Addendum, for me it pales in comparison with Blink of an Eye's versatility and wide range of targets. Even after Dom goes out, we still have the M19 one from Amonkhet which is identical to Blink minus the kick option.
  10. Rift does work with the Extra Deck monsters, as it does not specify "Main Deck". Weird, I know, but returning to the Extra Deck does count as returning to the Deck. Envoy can only Summon 1 monster to each side. It says "as many Silent Tokens as possible", but follows it with "max. 1 on each side". It's a remnant from an old effect that was on most of the cards, that was an attempt to create an effect that could SS a token to each side, but it could still work if either your field or opponent's field was full or you couldn't otherwise Summon a monster there. Zombie/Fairy typing was from initial lore/flavour, that featured these as old, faceless guardians from bygone times bringing order to a chaotic world. Kind of like the Qliphorts, but actually live. Another flavour thing is having their stats in multiples of 500, but to grab that Monarch support, I could very easily adjust it to something like multiples of 200. Thanks for the review!
  11. Tribute Summoning archetype, revolving around getting into the Link Monsters without using the multitude of Tokens it can bring out. Tribute Summoning and Link Summoning, two of the clearly least broken and underused mechanics these days, but this is an archetype from just after Link Summoning just came out. Rather more updated, but anyway... Main Deck Monsters: (5/5) Spells/Traps: (4/4) Extra Deck Monsters: (4/4)
  12. I was hoping you'd be here, and when I saw you on the Discord I knew it was alright. Welcome back! I hope you enjoy your stay. I really enjoyed seeing your cards in casual! But now, no distinction, so hope that's not too much of a shift ?
  13. Always been a huge Simic fan, so I'm a bit disappointed all they get is Monstrous 2.0. At least it is 2.0, and we get decent cards. Like the mana boost and the flash counter. Really liking the rest of the set as well. Nice pair of planeswalkers for WB and WU, even if Gruul is a little underwhelming. Lore is looking absolutely amazing though, really hyped for Bolas' wrath in part 3.
  14. "When this card is Summoned: You can add 1 FIRE monster from your Deck to your hand." Having this kind of searcher is really bad both for the current gamestate and future design. Salamangreats are meta right now in the OCG. It also grabs Metalfoes, Infernoids, Lava Golem, and 100s of other targets. This would become a mainstay in any FIRE Deck, particularly Infernoids with Summon Sorceress being able to trigger the milling effect that loads up the GY. This effect isn't anywhere slow, and is on the other extreme of not only being too fast but too generic. FIRE is tricky, and FIRE Fiends even more so. In fact, all attribute designs are. You'd need to hammer down into something a slower/xenophobic, maybe even less bland; have an effect that gives me more of an idea of the character itself.

    Site Rules

Of course, we do want people to know where exactly the cardmaking community is moving. That'd be really helpful done tactfully!
  16. Hi and welcome home!

    To Everyone

Hey everyone! As the bunny says, a warm welcome to the new YCM! I hope it's at least somewhat of a decent replacement, and I certainly intend to take advantage of the freedom we'll get without an inactive admin to make this as best a site can! Looking forward to meeting new faces and seeing old ones.
  18. WELCOME! With a new site comes new events, and I thought I'd try something new for the Neo Card Maker's 1v1 forum. Here's something on the site on the side of Leaderboard and regular 1v1s. As said in the title, this is a sort of gauntlet free-for-all. Anyone who's interested can pay a fee of 500 points, then try to win as many 1v1s as possible over the course of a month. Every time you win, your prize pool increases, but beware! You are only able to lose 3 times on one entry fee before you're forced to pay again to start participating. The initial entry fee is 500 points, but each additional entry costs 500 more points than the last one. To make sure your wins and losses are recorded, tag each 1v1 you do want to be recorded with " gauntlet" when the thread is created so I can know to record it afterwards and assign reps correctly. For each victory, a user gets an immediate rep with 200 points added to their prize pool. Additionally, for every 4 matches won, they also get a Mystery Box (as seen in the shop ) added to their prize pool, to increase the number of potential points won! At the end of the month OR after 3 losses, a user will receive all points and mystery boxes accumulated up until that point on that entry. Prizes will be handled by me or another moderator. NB: This is not the only method of doing 1v1s. Feel free to do normal 1v1s without having to worry about entry fees or your loss count! I know that points will be an issue early on, so I don't expect too many people at the moment, but it shouldn't take too long for it to be possible! I hope to see many of you participating, and that you all have fun! –––––––––– Participant standings for January 2019:
  19. BASIC RULES 1. Standard YCM Rules apply. As always, be sure to abide by the main site rules in addition to what is listed here. 2. Your contest must have the following CLEARLY stated in the main post: A. Theme/Task What do you want interested members to do in this contest? B. Entry requirements Do you need to be a certain level or have membership in a club to join? Is a fee required? C. Deadline When do you plan on stopping taking entries; after a certain date has passed or a participant cap, etc? It's helpful to state the GMT/UTC offset you're using for the deadline to avoid confusion for other members. Also, clarify the date format, because the day/month/year format varies between the US and elsewhere. D. Prizes You can give up to 10 reps/likes, any amount of points [either from a prize pot or your own funds], GFX prizes, etc. The type of prizes given during your contest is left entirely at your discretion, but you should definitely have something though. E. Your judging criteria Clearly state criteria you're looking for in the work of your participants so that they understand what they have to do and focus on in your competition. ---------------------- If you are lacking any of these things, you will be given 24 hours upon a moderator post to fix it before a lock occurs. Feel free to PM any moderator with the missing information after that so that they can fix it, and thereby unlock it. 3. If you're not planning on entering/judging or have any interest in the contest, DON'T POST. Simple as that; if you have no interest in the contest, then don't post anything. Asking for clarification about how the contest is structured is acceptable. If it breaks rules, USE THE REPORT BUTTON and move on. HOSTING/JUDGING RULES 1. You MUST be able to EXPLAIN why a member received a particular score in your contest. Basically, show the reasoning behind why a member indeed won/didn't win your contest, as opposed to simply saying that the member won, or something like that. You may use a score breakdown, Advanced-level CnC (Comments and Criticism) or a combination of both to explain. It is recommended you use a scorecard in tandem with your judging criteria, as to keep grading level with other judges assisting in the contest. It is also easier to determine a definitive winner that way. Be prepared to answer any questions regarding why a member received their score, and be willing to look at it again and adjust grades accordingly if necessary! Being fair should be a top priority. 2. Scores should be posted within a reasonable timeframe after the deadline. Ideally, you should have a defined date as to when scores will be posted, but we understand that many of you have other commitments to attend to in real life (such as school, work, familial/personal issues, etc.). Just make sure you don't leave it too long. An ideal time period is 1 to 1.5 weeks after the deadline; any longer and you put your contest itself at risk (see 3. below)If you need an extension of judging due to personal reasons (such as exams or real life), please notify the participants beforehand, and let one of the moderators know ASAP to avoid any hasty actions. 3. Cutoff for an “Inactive/Dead” contest Contests with no replies for 14 days or more will automatically be declared "Finished" and moved accordingly. If you'd rather this not happen, try keeping your competition total runtime to be less than 5 or so weeks to stay out of the danger zone. As mentioned above, if you need an extension due to reasons, make sure you say something to the contestants and/or one of us. --------------------------------- This thread will probably get updated as time goes on, so make sure you are up to date by checking this thread on a regular basis! Feel free to PM a moderator if you need clarification on anything regarding the rules listed here as well.
  20. Hello fine user, guest, or lurker! If you're here, you probably want to learn how to use the Card Maker or re-familiarize yourself with it, so just read carefully and you should get the hang of it no time! Firstly, a shoutout to former YCM user Yemachu, who created this Card Maker when are old one became too busted and outdated to use properly. Start by clicking the "Card Maker" link at the top left of any page on the site, if not already there. You should see this page, or something similar: To customize your card, simply fill in the various fields present on the right side (you can use the scroll bar within the window itself to get access to more features) and the preview image will update automatically. In order to wipe the card clean and start again, click the "New" button. The "Save" button saves the current card as a .json file, which you can reload into the Card Maker with the "Open" button. If you want to save your card as an image, click the preview image of the card, and a download should begin automatically. You cannot store cards on-site. Run-down of customization fields: I hope you found this guide helpful. And if you do, what are you waiting for? Go make the cards of your dreams!
  21. This place looks amazing.
