Rona stared in open-mouthed amazement at Layne. Really? Did that actually happen? She couldn't finish it off and yet....She shook her head. "It seems that beast wasn't as frightening as it looked!" Rona called out. Then, realizing what it sounded like she was saying, she followed with, "not that I was worried to begin with! I knew we could bring it down." She winced as she turned to look at the others. The burn mark still giving her flashes of pain. With a start she remembered the others who had been fighting way off in the distance. "I'll go check on Leon and Yue!" Rona said and, before anyone could stop her, even to heal, she had Cormag take flight and moved hastily, somewhat recklessly, around the trees and to where Leon was. She felt relief rush over her as Cormag landed next to Leon and she climbed off his back. She hurried over to him before stopping herself just short of the young man. "I'm glad to see you're al..." that's when she noticed Yue's injury and she hesitated. She didn't want to turn from Leon until he told her what to do next but... Her body acted for her and she approached Yue. Despite Rona's clear wound she removed the vulnerary she had been given a while back, still untouched, and held it out for Yue. "Take if if you need some...Thank you for defending the commander while I was away." "Wooooo! Go team!" Alexis said, pumping her fist in the air. "Score one for....what are we called again? Irony Beagles? Well, whatever, go us!" She let out a sigh of relief and started to lean back. Her intention was to lay across Tana's broad back but, instead, she ended up tumbling off the side and falling face-first into the dirt. She lay there for a moment before rolling onto her back and bursting out in laughter. "Well I'm sure glad that didn't happen during the fight!" She said. Still laughing she sat up and wiped her face with her arm. She grinned up at the trio nearby, Rona having had left in a hurry, and gave them a thumbs up. "Not too shabby eh? I think next time we could do it even faster." She looked back to where the beast had been. "Still, what was that thing....It can't be a good sign. I've seen my fair share of monsters but something like that is more than just a monster. It was almost like a commander of sorts. I wonder if they have a general..." She then got up fully and stretched. "Well, suppose we should get back to camp eh? Anyone want a lift?"

Team Alola, On the Road to Adarid City Nani was left as the last of the group standing. Before her eyes the other teammates tried, and failed, to stop the overwhelming power of the Lucario. With her the last that wasn't merely clinging to consciousness it was clear where the Lucario was going next. He started towards the girl and was standing in front of her in a moment. Off to the side the Zapdos he had been fighting coughed and his face twitched in her direction for a moment. And still he stood there. Going off what he had done with the others Nani should've been attacked already. But the Lucario was just standing there. Finally he let out a sigh. "I wanted a battle. Yet now, if I continue, it will only be an execution. That is not why I came here." He stepped back from the girl and spoke towards the legends. "Recover your strength. Next time there will be no interruptions. I will fight to the end no matter what tries to stop me." Then he spoke towards Nani, though his words were meant for them all, "As for you. If we meet again I promise to make your death as quick as possible." With that ominous statement he turned and, showcasing the same incredible speed as when he was fighting, left. His aura faded from their senses. And soon, though while he was there his presence was the biggest thing in the area, there was no trace of him left. The only sound after that was Zapdos's groans. They hadn't won, not by far, yet they still kept their lives. Even if most of them were barely clinging on. Team Neo Not Dark, Under The Sea The Carvanha grinned wickedly at Easter. He started to press forward. Opening up to bite onto his neck. But only got a Moonblast to the face in the process. With a low keen the shark-like Gijinka toppled backwards. Landing in a crumpled heap on the bottom of the bubble. When Denku bite down he found hold on the Dragalge's side. Having mistaken where the Gijinka was positioned. Still, as he bit, the Dragalge spasmed as the electricity coursed through his body. Then, after a moment, the Dragon's body went limp and he collapsed to the ground. The Cloyster let out a scream of surprise, muffled by the water, as Brooke's attack grabbed hold of her and dragged her back into the bubble. She thrashed about, trying to get out, but was unable to do so. Her shell, already weakened by her own action, couldn't do much against the powerful attack. But still she tried to fight back. Firing off an Aurora Beam at where Brooke herself stood. Near them the Huntail started forward. With intention to attack Brooke while she was focused on the Cloyster. And he got a Water Gun to the face for his effort. He turned and glared wildly in the direction the blast had come from and saw Dora standing there with a pout on her face. The girl shot out another attack and hit him in the face again as he started to shout at her. Fed up, the Huntail turned towards her and shot out a pulse of water. Which hit the bottom of the bubble and traveled along it in a wave of energy. Team Mac, Cave Part Two Zekrom didn't so much as flinch as Kazo dove over him. Instead he chuckled as he saw the Gabite dig under the ground. Unlike Ari, Mac didn't spend any time charging up. Instead she rushed forward, moving with more than normal speed, and rammed her shoulder right into Zekrom's gut. The Legend grunted and slammed his fist down on the girl and sent her straight to the ground. He looked over at Ari. "What's wrong? Surely your heart is strong enough to fight isn't it?" He raised his hands above his head and a crackling orb of blue lightning appeared. From it a blast of lightning shot out towards Ari. At that moment Kazo emerged from the ground Zekrom took the punch well but a smile appeared on his face. "Good, good!" He said. Mac got back up from the ground, crouching, and swung her leg at Zerkom's leg, catching him in the ankle and causing him to stumble. She followed it up with another Quick Attack, this time slamming into the legend's chest. Zekrom let out a loud roar which seemed to cause the air itself to shake. The others would feel their attacks weaken somewhat after it. He then swung his arm, which had sharpened along the edge, at Kazo to his side. Team Karaoke, Graveyard of Lost Souls "Hehe, isn't that cute." Raphael said as Lok's ray came towards him. He twitched as Nine attacked and, ignoring the ray entirely, instead shot down the pulse with his Shadow Ball. The confuse ray hit Raphael and he stood still for a few moments before he began to laugh. "Ahaha..haaahaha, ehehehe, ohohoho, fufufufu, kekeke HA!" His eyes widened as shadowy claws covered his own pinkish claws. "Die die, all of you will die now. Come on, come closer, let me have a taste!" The Disciple then began to swing his arms while moving towards the others. Not seeming to care as his claws sliced through the tombstones on his way. Just a whirling, laughing, moving bunch of blades. He went first towards Lok. Then, almost near him, suddenly changed course and dove for Nine instead. Gwen, in the meantime, had backed away from the both of them. She closed her eyes...and let dark feelings enter her mind. Let herself become washed in them. Feeling her power grow the more she waited. Team Showdown, Temple of Time and Space Isole was starting to breath heavier. She had been through multi-battle training before on the ship but it had been a while since she participated. She was starting to wish she had trained as hard as the others... "Good, good!" The king said, draining his goblet and holding it out for a servant to get them more. "You're very impressive! But you're not done yet! I want to see more!" Even as the previous two opponents were being dragged out the next two came in. Or at least one did. A tall Gijinka, with a large and thick looking forehead, rushed into the ring. His companion, with what seemed to be a mane of steel around their neck, came in much slower. The first, a Rampardos, was jumping up and down in short hops in anticipation. As soon as the other, a Bastiodon, had entered the ring the Rampardos took off. Diving forward and lowering his head he struck Isole with a powerful Headbutt. Sending her into the ropes at the edge of the ring. As she bounced off of the rope he stepped forward again and swung around, his tail slamming into her and knocking her back again. The Bastiodon didn't seem to be doing much. But he did, in a slow voice, off-offhandedly remarked "You aren't all that tough, are you?" The Taunt settled in their minds, forcing them to only attack.

"Uh, guys..." Alexis glanced back at where Edda was. And saw the zombies approaching. She was sure they could deal with them but by the time that they did....more would be coming. It didn't seem it would end...until. "No worries! Just got one big, ugly, beastie to take down. Even if those corpses stick around we can clean them up once that thing is out of the way." She gripped her lance and flew forward. A brief moment of concern hit her when she saw Ada attacking it. Wouldn't evil magic only serve to strengthen an evil beast? Thankfully it seemed not to be the case. Still, somewhat wary, Alexis passed by the hound's head and thrust into the side of its neck. It had a strange feeling to it. Not quite like a regular body. But it seemed to be doing something so she didn't stop there. Pulling back she flew forward a bit more and rammed her lance into the creature's side. "This thing is foul but I think it's weakening!" She called out. She kept one hand on Tana's reigns, ready to pull back in case the beast attacked. If not she would try and twist the lance and shove it deeper. "Alright guys, now! If we don't stop it, they'll just keep coming! Get it while it can't move!" Rona winced. "Stop giving me orders. You're not the commander." Rona thought bitterly. Still, it wasn't as though there was any other option. She had to kill this thing before it caused more trouble. No matter what happened to her in the process. She took hold of her Steel Axe. She would cleave through the thing's skull and end it in one blow. "Come on Cormag, this is it, let's end this now!" With a roar Cormag took off into the sky. Rona herself gave off a roar of her own as they dove down towards the creature. Going straight for it. She hefted her axe and brought it down right on the head of the creature. As her axe came down she cleaved a chunk of the beast's head right through. She was sure that would finish it. Yet...there was no blood. And the beast struck back as though it weren't missing a piece of itself. Its large jaws clamped down on her side. She felt a burning sensation. It wasn't the same as being bitten by the hounds. It hurt more...yet it also didn't. Her body itself was unharmed, though a burn-like mark began to spread, but the pain was intense. But she was still alive. Despite her vision blurring at the pain. She could still...keep...going.

Morgan: 0 Ross: 45 Winner: Ross via HP loss "Are you KIDDING me?" Morgan said. The girl sat on the smooth, slightly warm, floor of the virtual battlefield room with her arms crossed and a pout on her face. "So, cotton candy?" "Hmph, you've got a lot of nerve after all of that." She thought a moment and then pointed at Ross. "Make it up to me by paying. After all because of YOU I'm losing out on points that I should have earned today." Ross waved the comment off saying, "weren't you planning on making me pay anyway?" "I don't know what you're talking about; it's just proper conduct is all." "Right right, it's the least I can do." The girl gives a small smirk before making her way out of the room saying, "as the winner." Morgan let out what could only be described as a screech as the door slid closed behind Ross. In a huff she threw a couple flaming skulls at the door which exploded on impact without any visible damage done. Taking a deep breath she stomped her way to the door. Morgan came out of the door, adjusting her hat, and walking with her head held high. "Just make sure it's not some cheap garbage." Shrugging, the girl said, "are you sure you've eaten cotton candy before?" "Do you always ask such stupid questions?" Morgan shot back, not answering the question. She stepped out in front of Ross and tossed her head with a huff. --- The stand they found in the food court that had cotton candy seemed a bit amused at the request. Evidently it wasn't something they often sold but they had the machine just in case anyway. "You know if you want the real good stuff you'd need to go to the carnival. Never been myself but I hear its got all sorts of stuff like this. Did you know it's actually located under the Arena? Mauvache thought it'd be a good place to bring your family when you've finished watching a fight." As Gavin moved backwards Kira came down hard onto the ground. Slamming the kanabo mere inches away from the young man and causing a small tremor to rock the immediate area. She let out a small noise, almost a growl, as her attack didn't find its target. There was a wild look to her face and, if Gavin didn't notice, his bots would see her red eyes flashing. While the fighter was backing away and firing the girl didn't seem to take heed of it. She surged forward, pushing off on the ground and using that to launch herself at Gavin. The girl swung her kanabo at Gavin in a horizontal arc. Hitting him for major damage. Even though pain was dulled in the simulation he could tell that, were this not virtual space, the attack could have easily shattered his body. As it was he was flung off to the side. Landing at the feet of one of the hellhounds that was patrolling the area. Who would then attempt to bite the pilot while Kira came charging in again. The girl paused for a moment as one of Gavin's bots got a bit too close and she swung her weapon to knock it out of the sky.

Alright so just saw that this game was released in NA 14 years ago today and with Halloween approaching....share some of your experiences with and thoughts on the game! Were there any parts that stuck out as your favorite? For me it's the regenerators. Even on later playthroughs where I knew what was going to happen they still managed to unnerve me.
