The site does cost money each month to upkeep. I don't sell any data, nor do I run any ads - any support you can give to help with the upkeep of things would be greatly appreciated.

There is no max goal for this donation, nor and end point. The rough costs for the site are around 40/50 GBP each month give or take 10 either side depending on the month, there are periods at the start of the year where this does increase significantly due to renewals for the domain and SSL certificates that this site runs off.

The site will remain active and online for as long as I can maintain it. I'm not struggling financially (at least as much as some!) and can maintain this regardless.

    • Under My Nose Once Sibyl broke entirely through Project Rubicon’s skin, the threat of being scalded by the periodic steam geysers seemed to cease. That wasn’t to say it wasn’t hot, just that that immediate danger was gone. She fell into the empty space where a brain would have been had Project Rubicon been human. The ground was spongy in a way that was difficult to walk on; it had a wholly unique texture and give to it. Before she could get too far into her exploration, two things happened. The first was the entire creature lurched. It was unlike the flailing that Sibyl had felt before -- this one was unintentional on Project Rubicon’s part. Outside, someone had gotten the idea to trip up Project Rubicon in Clotho’s string, and while they hadn’t brought down the creature entirely, a trip was still a small victory. And it wasn’t like the string had failed. People just couldn’t hang on or anchor it well enough. The second thing that happened was that, while it was true Sibyl wasn’t about to be roasted, the steam was still present. It came out of every part of the walls and gathered in the center of the brain cavity, slowly taking the form of a pair of recognizable figures. One mass became Baba Yaga, and that one settled down in the center of the cavity as though in a meditative trance. The other became Albatross, and it took to the air, sending a mass of feathers Sibyl’s way as soon as it could. Remember My Name Minos almost asked, “How many times does that work, anyway?” as Override demanded their adversary identify themself, but she kept her attention focused on trying to figure out who it was for herself, not to mention where the next attack would come from. How did Aeon get past all this, anyway? Did she just walk by? Was she that unflinching? The knives disappeared into the floor, and Minos went in after them, wrenching the floor open with her power. But there was no sign of the weaponry. “Knives, blaster power related to those, I guess…” she said, speculating out loud. “Unless they’re just trained to be that accurate. That’d narrow it down too, though.” She surveyed the ground down below. “Hard to see what’s waiting for us down there.” A stupid thought came into her mind, and she couldn’t help but share it. “What if it’s one of those changer powers, and the guy’s not just throwing the knives, they are the knives? Like, they just possess something and throw themselves?” She almost laughed. But that joke turned to seriousness real quick as Override’s onboard computer finished its analysis. With a ninety-five percent certainty, their enemy was Switchjack. Minos winced when she heard the name. Her stupid joke was correct. “Yeah, definitely don’t get hit by those knives. I’ve heard things. They’ll ruin you worse than they did that elevator.” Worse, it didn’t explain their light being as dark as it was. Someone else knew they were here. Maybe they weren’t in the room, or surely they would have done something else by now, but the jig was up for everyone in the building. “We need to get off this floor,” she said. Being Annoying The bottom of the elevator shaft was a reasonable distance below Battle Labs’ bottom floor to accommodate for all of the extra machinery involved with keeping an elevator operational, but climbing out was manageable for anyone, even someone without all the extra advantages Aeon had. The doors were hydraulic so they were less manageable to the average person, but again, Aeon at that moment was anything but average. Outside the doors, though, was a mystery. It was not a mystery in the literal sense, though Battle Labs continued to be dark and difficult to see further into, something only compounded by the lack of natural light. But she could still see outlines of the paths she could take -- left, right, and straight ahead. Lachesis’ voice crackled on Aeon’s walkie-talkie. The signal wasn’t great, having to pass through several underground floors to get there, but it was just audible through the static: “Uh, Roger that, Gamer One, I’ll remind Roy here to add an extra five-digit item to the expense sheet. He’s looking at me funny like he knows I know the exact number and I just haven’t told him yet, one sec.” Roy’s voice was like someone had jammed a walkie-talkie too close to his face, and he was struggling to get it away from him. Even then, his sighs were obvious. “Construction crews already had their hands full. What’s one more job?” OOC
