It can be literally anything, doesn't have to be embarrassing. Talent you have, secret hobby, fun fact, idiosyncrasy of yours, etc. Whatever, just have fun with it. -I almost never drink soda, never liked the carbonation growing up or even most flavors. Maybe I'll have mixed drinks at a party like rum and coke, but that's it.

The core story elements seem like a good base to build off. If you are trying to make the antagonists sympathetic keep them from being awful people. This more so is for the kidnapper, but applies to both. I'm not sure on how to replicate twin-stick on a keyboard. My best guess is to use both WASD and the Arrow Keys and have the Space Bar to be for attacks. As for what feels better between the different styles, that will need play testing. For that reason I recommend just doing basic work on the different gameplay elements first.

Katsurou Katsurou stopped at the threshold of the academy grounds, just short of the growing crowd of hopefuls like him, eager to justify their enrolment. Despite the great amount of assurance from his uncle that he would do just fine, he could not help but feel the phantom of doubt creep into his thoughts. Before joining the crowd, he muttered a quick prayer for strength and clarity of thoughts. Clutching his trusty aluminum orb in his hands, Katsurou made his way to the center of the circle the crowd formed around the two officiants, one clad in the armor of ancient Japan, the other dressed in robes that only partially covered muscles that defied his apparent age. The elder looked as if someone had pulled one of the great patriarchs of Israel straight from Genesis and put him in charge of the test he was to take. Perhaps this was a sign that all would be well? Following the proctors into the academy grounds, Katsurou could not help but wonder just how big this place was, containing an entire forest within its walls. He was quickly snapped back to this surroundings as the warlike instructor began to explain the situation. When told that everyone present had passed the written exam, Katsurou let out a sigh of relief, accompanied with a big smile. This smile did not last long when the rules of the practical exam were told. Collecting five badges and holding onto them until sundown did not sound difficult at first, but the attitude of his fellow students made him question what the instructors were planning. “Stealing badges not causing an immediate disqualification? Why would they encourage new heroes to steal?” Katsurou muttered to himself, absentmindedly fiddling with the cord in his collar. Looking up to the crowd, Katsurou looked for anyone else who may be more likely to steal and anyone who would rather work together. Clearly the amazon was out, being the first to ask if theft was allowed. Considering her brutish appearance, he reasoned that she would be the first to strike out on her own. The furtive student with the headphones appeared annoyed by the amazon, but perhaps only because of the competition. The bat-like girl, who had just let out a sonorous screech, may be reliable, or at least not outright malicious, as was the green-haired student and the towering student with strangle ripples along his arms. The pink haired girl, apparently perturbed by the batgirl’s sudden screeching, leaned down to mutter something to her. Katsurou was not able to make out what was being said, but considering the reaction of those around her, it could not have been anything encouraging. His first instinct was to move to confront her for her rude imposition, but before he could, she had turned her focus back to preparing for the test. Katsurou decided that if he was to be a true hero, he would need to protect not just the helpless, but his fellow heroes as well. “Excuse me! I hope that girl didn’t scare you. I’m sure she’s just as nervous as the rest of us,” he said cordially to batgirl before turning to the group that had assembled around her, “My name is Yamauchi Katsurou. It is nice to meet you all. I hope we can all pass!”

Okay, after I warmed up to the idea of Link (I still think it's a crazy idea, but now I know it was made because of the anime and that all mechanics actually come from the anime) and thanks to both a crazy dream doing homage in a way to the first episode ever of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters as well as some other of my favorites from that era, I designed a brand new mechanic. It's a crazy mechanic, but I got it from translating a dream to real life (so, if it works, hold on your horses, Konami). Anyway, let's get upgraded, people. A Link Monster counterpart from the main deck is on the way. TERMINAL MONSTERS INCEPTION: DESCRIPTION: MECHANICS: Sample Cards I would like to hear your critiques and any advice you have to perfect them (it's an archetype featured in a dream, any help is welcomed). EDIT: Given the fact there are Terminal Arrows aiming down, I'll add a corollary: Terminal Monsters can be summoned in the ED Zones. However, that's a risk in itself, because it would leave the player without the ability to summon from the Extra Deck.

I would've replied to this sooner, but I for some reason decided to spend the entire night subjecting my self to literary torture. Yeah, from the look of things it seems that the ransomer guy should definitely be the villain, while the guy who's out to save his dying brother is merely a rival. I do like the idea of your adversaries having their own agendas that aren't simply "for teh evulz!!1!" As for main character progression, you could have a character who is initially so devoted to the idea of obtaining the ancient stones that they do not consider assisting or trusting the rival at all, but slowly sees the good in their rival and devises a solution that works out in both of their favors (if you play your cards right; there should totally be the possibility of this not working out if you don't do everything right). It probably seems a tad bit cliche though? Alternatively, you could have the exact opposite of that: The main character being this bright-eyed individual who wants to save the rival's brother as well as their own sister, but slowly comes to the realization that that just is not possible. Perhaps they can decide to give the ancient stones to the rival to save the brother, holding onto the slim hope that they can ransom their sister with something else. Or perhaps they could put their familial bonds above the rival's familial bonds; after all, you got the ancient stones. You beat the rival. You get the reward. Or maybe they never grow to like or trust the rival, and thinks giving them the ancient stones is a foolish and risky move. As for gameplay, I have admittedly never played any of those games. I looked up their combat, albeit very briefly, and I'm leaning a bit towards the Secret of Mana approach. I'm not entirely sure if Robotron's really fast bullet-spewing, bullet-dodging battle pace really, er, fits with those calmer 2d old school maps. I don't really have much more to say in this regard. I'm a lot more used to turn-based games but I can't immediately think of a way to make that fresh and to stand out from the millions of other games with similar combat systems. And maybe it shouldn't be turn-based; I'd presume that you know the details of the game enough to have already figured out that it should be faster-paced than that.

Im retrospect, yeah, it may not be that potent. It does take your BP if you want to deal with a problem monster, and Extra Deck slots are precious in most decks. Should be fine, then. I still find odd that it's a generic HERO Link. Thankfully it's not DARK for Law Mask Change xD inb4 Lair of Darkness combo :v

Fuse!!! I see you made it to the new world too. Things are going good. The job as a Desk Side Engineer is doing really well. While there aren't a LOT that I know, but I'm slowly picking things up. My troubleshooting skills are lacking, but this job seems to definitely to help in getting me to think more logically about problems, already troubleshot three problems by myself. The supervisor is, well it's a huge thing. I'm contracted to a company called Fujitsu and working at Husqvarna. In short, a Japanese company and Swedish company respectively, and I'm being there between both xD ....so yeah, my Fujitsu supervisors are good and same with the Husqvarna ones, just need to up my game and get things done when I can in a quick manner (since ya know, time is money). But yeah, job wise, it's going good. EVERYTHING!!! I've waited for so long for the conclusion of the Xehanort Saga. Ever since 2.8 showing off the style of KH3 with BBS 2.0, I was hyped. And now with the advent of Pixar worlds finally being a thing, it's making me happy. Not only that, the return of plenty of the Organization XIII members in the New Organization XIII, I got really happy. The songs, I'm loving them, the story and scenes I've seen are making me excited...and even the one seen in regards to Scala ad Caelum, THAT there has me excited! Like, what even is that?!?! Needless to say, that's gonna be my game of 2019. Something better would have to top this hype.

Inazuma Eleven got me to try out soccer with my childhood friend. Prince of Tennis got me into trying out tennis with my family. Kuroko no Basket got me into trying out basketball for a while. Stuff like Totoro and Spirited Away got me into spending hours just running around parks looking for those secret entrances or mystical little creatures in the grass or trees or bushes, that kind of thing. Non Non Biyori was one of the things that got me into really liking the country side (even with the bugs and other inconveniences, it feels nicer imo). Net-juu no Susume got me back into playing MMOs again xd. I'm pretty sure there's others I'm just forgetting at the moment. And in general, a lot of anime/manga helped fuel my love for writing with all sorts of ideas and genres.

Today marked a very important day for Suda. He had spend countless hours preparing for this day, not including the hours it took for him to make himself more than presentable for his crowd. He spent a few minutes of those hours staring at himself in the mirror, making sure that everything about his style was perfect. "You can do this, Suda." He said to himself, tilting his head in various angles. "U.A. better watch itself!" He gave himself a confident smirk, striking a small pose in the mirror as he felt satisfied with his looks. Cracking his knuckles, he stepped out of the bathroom and started heading out towards the school. His timing was as impeccable as always; as if to specifically greet him, the doors to U.A. swung open as Suda made his arrival. There were already some other students gathering around, none of which immediately impress him. What did impress him were the two people that came out of the door; not so much the old man, but the one in the samurai outfit. Suda grinned as he followed the old man into the building, feeling a ting of excitement. The goal of the test would be to grab some badges from the testing grounds. This seemed simple enough to Suda, although he imagined the difficulty would come from the others. He took a glance at the others as they loudly chanted excitedly, and smirked. That kind of excitement is exactly what he wants to see in his future crowd. "Ah, I love the sound of a roaring crowd!" Suda loudly proclaimed, stepping a bit ahead. "Let's hope there's some bite to everyone's bark. I'd hate a boring victory!"

Well, Qli definitely need something along these lines. Genius only opens up 2 so Pendulum Summon is very limited, and very rarely does Electrumite not become the go-to Link in anything Pendulum-related so IMO something like this is needed. Negation is now quick, opens 3 zones, and can give you an extra search. The search is awkward though. Most of the time you'll be Summoning 2+ monsters by Pendulum Summon, and the "place into scale" option is gonna be dead too often. The "Special Summon" option as an extra extension I'd need to see in practice to figure out if it's gonna be too much of an extender or if it really only makes up for a more limited gameplay that today's decks can stop cold too often.... The add to hand is good. The ATK-based protection doesn't sound too great. Either anything 2500+ affects it so dealing with it is way too common, or your monster gets weakened and lowers the bar of what affects it. What do Qlis have for +ATK? seeing as how Tower's weakening and Knightmare Mermaid don't work in its favor. I guess an Axe of Despair can do the trick? xD

The guy that you call the villain sounds more like a rival, having a similar motivation of rescuing a sibling (although not from the same people as the main hero). From how it sounds, he actually needs the stones more since they could (and probably would) find an alternative method than just going along with the ransom, but if somebody is dying, the situation is more desperate IMO. Sounds like them figuring it out is the "best ending" scenario. Also, it seems to lend itself as a concept for choosing the perspective you wanna play from. Though that'd be a tad ambitious if it ended up with different gameplay due to the characters' experiences. It might be better to leave alone for now. As for the gameplay, I went to look up Robotron and Secret of Mana. A Link to the Past is the one I'm most familiar with. I personally prefer a Link to the Past. Having full screen range on your hits demands a more chaotic gamestate if I go by Robotron's gameplay. It makes me think of the bullet hell games a little, and wonder if too much active stuff like that would cause more crashes. It might be used a bit more often but I'm more of a fan for the Secret of Mana approach. Also, A Link to the Past had its share of long range with the bow, upgraded boomerang, fire/ice staffs, the medallion specials, and the Master Sword when in full health. Seems overall better. Though from my experience with the SNES, Link had to point to the direction he was shooting at. IDK much about PC gaming but I suppose you could find a controller with 2 sticks for adjusting movement and view respectively. Or find a way to assign keys to the directions, though this would probably be a bit of a hassle since we don't have 3 hands xD

This one has me thinking, and I like it already because of that. On one hand, it can be highly advantageous, especially since you can pop a card that floats when it is destroyed, letting you preserve or generate card advantage. So that means it can be a +2 at best, or a 1-for-1 at worst as pointed out on the opening thread. On the other hand, it involves column play, and it shins the most when the opponent places multiple cards in a column, so there is a bit of luck, and mind games if the opponent already knows you run this, involved. Similar to how Mekk-Knight players push their opponents to spread their cards around/ If anything I would consider either FIRE attribute for some flavor with the gun theme and name, or alternatively 0 DEF so it gets at least Recurring Nightmare support. A bit unsure about the base 1900 ATK, but if it can't attack after using its effect, it may be fine. Although one could play around the restriction by using it as material afterwards, done more easily with Links around. 1600~1800 ATK would be safer. I wouldn't make this a Quick Effect, though. Then it would be too good as a Normal Summonable Warrior with any kind of Special Summon restriction.

Getting up in the morning had hardly been a problem for Yuuka. She had merely figured what time would be the best to wake up to get through her morning routine and set an alarm for then. Having gotten up just when she should, the girl had made her way to school, and arrived with some time to spare before their exam had actually begun. As such, it did her good to see that there were those even more ready and on time then her, and so she simply smiled brightly and contentedly, awaiting their exam time to start. Standing around, the girl simply looked and studied the two instructors before her, head to toe while listening to the directions they provided. "Oh, this might be some trouble," the girl merely muttered to herself. While she had her own concerns as to how to approach this test, to her great pleasure it had seemed that there were a large majority of other heroes to be that did not. Though there was some to be desired she glanced from student to student as they talked to each other, stretching herself out as she was instructed to do so all the while. Two girls who definitely had the confidence and physicality to be a hero, though definitely lack in the tact of one. One girl who - Yuuka winced - definitely had the energy levels of one. A boy, Shiba Yuudai, who seemed to have proper manners. And then there were two other girls in particular that managed to catch her attention. Both being full of spirit and a certain righteous quality that set them apart from the others so far. The girl merely smiled in glee, wondering just what the test had in store for them, while also looking forward to seeing more of her classmates. Turning her attention to the blonde haired girl, she merely raised her own fist into the air with a smile on her face echoing, "<justice>" in a much more subdued tone than the girl's, but still in English all the same.

The card is plenty balanced. Reminds me of Tiamaton but without a self-Special Summon, having to pop 1 of your cards, requiring your stuff to be face-up, and without sealing off the column after that. You could say Reinforcements is a plus, but Tiamaton as a DARK Dragon now has a potential searcher in one of the recently announced cards. I think it could afford to target face-down cards as well. It could make use of those pesky "float from GY" effects in some S/T cards that you don't wanna activate (or that you can't activate). Other than that you could even make an argument for potentially making it a Quick Effect, but I personally like it as a Spell Speed 1 effect instead. I like the card, and the art seems fitting for column design.

I love it. I still need to beat World of Light, but I managed to unlock everyone by plowing through Classic Mode. I think I'm going to try and eventually 100% this game too because the challenges/achievements aren't as unreasonable to me as they were in Smash U. The newcomers are all really fun; I'm also stoked to playing people like Toon Link, Wolf, and Snake again. Smash is still Smash, Sakurai's our homeboy, and I'm looking forward to the DLC reveals over this next year. I know apparently the full list was leaked a week ago, but I'm not seeking those out because I want to see the reveal trailers completely blind.
