  1. Fen was glad to see Trevor move in to action and lift the sharks into the air, striking them with magical balloon looking spheres before felling them. The resulting shock of their fall, as well as the following aid from Aduain, seemed to get the attention of the other sharks around them and away from the fleeing civilians. The girl was in one part relieved for no longer having to worry about the safety of the people, but in another way was concerned about now being swarmed by a bunch of land sharks. This problem was only made worse as she felt the heat continue to rise around her, only for her to turn and realize where this source of heat was coming from. Eyes going wide, Fen had realized that she was against perhaps one of the worst foes that she could've been against. A towering skeletal creature encased entirely fire had made his way over, seeming to be quite enraged at them and some "council," which she wasn't quite sure if that's what Mauvache was or not. The girl's confusion only continued to magnify as Devin seemed to transform into someone else entirely, somebody much more draconic and speaking in an entirely different tone, as they charged at the fire elemental. This was all topped off by a woman named Salvo crashing a mini train car and blowing up some sharks with weapons and presumably powers of her own. There was a lot for the girl to take in, but for now she had to mostly deal with sharks around her. Thankfully, Aduain had sprung into action and started to fight some of them off, which was good as Fen noticed Devin making a second round and go to strike at the fire elemental. As they did, though, Fen noticed a familiar female being tossed off the draconic person's back. Seeing Melissa move through the air like a ball, Fen knew that someone needed to help her out, and with everyone else being preoccupied by the fighting the young ice mage decided to spring into action. The girl started running forward, conjuring a disk of ice with her magic before tossing it towards the ground. Jumping forward, the girl landed on it and started to slide forward and quickly across the road. As she lined herself up with the falling Melissa, Fen jumped off her disk and put her arms at either side, ready to catch the girl. At this point, though, Fen realized Melissa wasn't that much smaller than her. And she herself wasn't all that strong to begin with. As such, as the projectile church girl landed into Fen, the latter girl was knocked off her feet and sent backwards. Falling backward onto the ground, Fen simply let out and, "ow, ow, ow..." Before looking up at the girl on top of her asking, "are uh, are you alright?"
  2. Having defeated the demon, Ryia was ready to take on the final one only to suddenly hear a crash against the wall that she had conjured up. After hearing the sound of something slamming against the earthen barrier a few more times, the girl then heard the familiar voice of the fire chosen from beyond it. Walking past the wall, she saw that the demon had been defeated by Reinaan, and let out a sigh of relief as she noticed the double decapitated lion's body was lifeless as well. It had appeared to be their victory against the guardians of the second gate and on confirmation of this, the girls muscles started to relax and her relief gave way to fatigue as her adrenaline started to lessen up. Nodding at Reinaan's next comment, the girl started to slowly make her way towards the others, feeling her pace pick up as the soul of the lion had been absorbed into her body. Seeing that her companions under Madelyn's barrier were stirring, still very clearly alive, the girl smiled looking to Madelyn and nodding her head. "Thank you, um, thanks. For everything, Madelyn." Looking to the others, she simply said, "if um, if either of you need any help then well. Uh, yeah." The relief was very evident on her expression to both Lindow and Damien, though given that they were still healing the girl was slightly cautious to actually get any closer to them.
  3. Lana let out a great sigh of relief as they had managed to defeat the goblins without raising too much of an alarm. The girl looked towards Chris as he then went on to explain the proper ideas behind sneaking, earnestly nodding along as she began to stealth alongside everyone else. Lana's ability to sneak around was definitely inferior to her more roguish companion, the girl walking on her tip toes in a somewhat exaggerated manner and taking much deeper breaths that she held, rather than just breathing more quietly. Thankfully, the group had managed to find yet another pair of goblins that didn't seem to notice them yet. Chris, as the group's main stealth leader here, took the initiative once more and chucked a dagger at one, while charging at the other. The girl was impressed by his accuracy with the first dagger and was much less impressed by his nearly getting clubbed by a goblin mace. As the boy was on the ground, Lana met eyes with him and knew that she was going to have to help him deal with the consequences of his actions. Nodding, the girl grabbed her greataxe and began to charge forward, spooking the goblin and prompting it to move towards the metal plate on its home. As it seemed ready to bang on it, Lana knew at her current speed she wouldn't get there fast enough and so with nothing else to use, she reeled her great axe back and tossed it at the goblin. Shocked ,again, the goblin ran back into its home as the girls axe clattered onto the floor inside. Pulling out her hand axe, Lana slowly made her way inside. Walking inside, there wasn't much to see at first glance. Just a bed of straw, a hole in the ground with a bucket next to it and a small fire pit. And also a large axe near the doorway with a cowering goblin clutching onto its mace in the center of the room. Seeing the monstrous humanoid, Lana had decided to simply lock eyes with it, suddenly feeling a bit weird about marching into something else's home and murdering it. Intending to leave the creature be for the moment, the girl bent down to start to pick up her greataxe with her free hand. The goblin seemed to have no compunction about killing the invader, however, as it started to charge the girl. Whatever strange moral dilemma Lana may have been having at that moment instantly resolved itself at this, dropping the axe and gripping her hand axe with both hands. Then, like a professional swinger in the the swing stick at ball game, the girl swung her axe, burying the blade into the creature's head. Giving a slight kick with her foot as she pulled her weapon back, the girl sheathed her hand axe and picked up her larger weapon. Looking out the door, she then gave a thumbs up to the other two, conveying that she had dealt with the consequences of Chris's actions.
  4. As the demon continued to struggle against Ryia it had gotten tired of the tug of war between them and opted for a different approach. Letting go of her shield, the demon start to back and move to grab at her legs. Knowing that there was no escape from this, the girl took one of the only offensive options she thought she had. Letting go of her mace, the girl unclasped her shield, and with a mighty swing of her arm hurled it at the demon. Grabbing onto her legs and threatening to lift her, the demon was hardly expecting to be brained by the square of metal, stumbling back and grabbing at the shield, throwing it to the side. As it recovered, Ryia took the time to grab at her mace and slowly bring herself back to her feet. As the demon seemed ready to resume its attacks against the girl, a cracking noise could be heard as it suddenly felt its sense of balance go from wobbly to completely lost. As Ryia got back to her feet, she had swung her mace into the creature's hip yet again, cracking the hip she hadn't previously causing the creature to lose all balance and fall to the ground. Writhing on the ground for a moment, the creature continued to snarl and stretch its arms forward, clawing towards her with its single-minded determination to kill her. The girl looked down at the demon, her stern expression not leaving as she saw the pitiable sight. Looking to the side, the girl saw that the other demon had gotten much closer to her, ready to strike her as well. She didn't quite mind this, and instead walked over to the downed demon stepping past its arms. Reeling her mace back, the chosen of earth swung once. The head bounced down and a crack could be heard along with the thunk of the metal. However, the snarling persisted and the demon reached up and started to grab at her hips. As it tried to claw up her, the other demon was finally behind her, reeling its arms back ready to dive and sink its claws into her. Letting out a frustrated grunt, the girl brought her mace up again. Swinging down, stomping on the ground at the same time the girl's mace struck into the barely living demon, ending its life. Simultaneously, a wall of earth was erected behind her intercepting the demon that had tried to strike her. Its claws pierced into the rock and its face slammed against it as well. Disgruntled by this, the demon pulled its claws out, snarling as it began to skulk around the wall. Clutching onto her mace tightly, Ryia used her free hand to push the demon corpse off of her, getting ready for the last of them to get near her.
  5. As the two demons had ran towards Ryia, the Earth Chosen was aware that actually trying to fight both of the imps at once would prove to be incredibly troublesome. And so, contacting her spirit, the two split from each other with Ackrin look towards the demon on her left. Creating a series of rocks, the earth spirit pelted the demon, causing a momentary distraction to the imp and forcing it to slow down its pursuit. Moving towards the imp on her right, Ryia went to clash blows with it, the creature swinging its claw at her and her in turn swinging her mace to strike its hand. As the two attacks collided, Ryia winced as her arm jerked back from the force of the creature's attack, the demon as well simply shaking its clawed hand. Following up, the imp then went to strike at Ryia with its other hand, clawed fingers made into a spear like point as they were brought together. Off balanced already, Ryia could do little, but step back and try to parry the creature's attack with her shield. Trying to push the hand to the side, the girl struggled a bit but still stumbled back as the hand forcefully pushed back against her. Not stomping its pressure, the creature raised its other arm up, bringing it down to smash against Ryia. Hastily the girl swung her mace it, but the arm was faster than her own attack and hand ended up smashing against her arm. Wincing in pain once more, Ryia's arm was forced down though her problems were greater than just that. With its hand now near her arm, the imp grabbed onto it and pushed down on her, causing her already off balanced position to be fully exploited and forced onto the ground. Letting out a small gasp as her back struck against the ground, the Earth Chosen then felt the weight increase on her arm. The demon using it as a mean to both continue pinning her and push itself back up, once fully up righted it went to use its other hand to strike. Bringing its claw towards her face, Ryia thought fast and put her shield in the way of the attack. Though she managed to prevent any damage to her face, she was now locked in a power struggle over her shield, one that she was in a much less advantageous position to win as the creature still had both of its arms. On the ground and with little elsewhere to strike, once her arm was no longer pinned the girl quickly swung the mace at the creature's torso. The metal caused an audible cracking noise to be heard, and the creature as well seemed slightly off balance from the attack, yet still it struggled against her shield.
  6. Arash. Super chill homie, bonkers useful servant. Hans Christian Anderson. Cool dude. Broken Support. Bedivere. Saber boi, good boi, blows up things with a single wave of his hand. Is good. Mash. Hokusai. Arash is all well and good but he kills himself after one wave. So she's more generic AoE for everything and is also anti-berseker and is also slick with a brush. So yeah. Well Artoria doesn't have foreigner, avenger or alter ego yet Pretty hard to say since a lot of servants I can think of alternate classes for wouldn't really be that different from what they are right now, (such as Lancer Achiles or Avenger Mordred or Archer Kama.) So because I'm drawing a blank let's go with Lancer Georgios. Why he is a rider to begin with confuses me because Bayard wasn't even around until his animation update. Similarly Ascalon, from my understanding, is generally a Lance and not a sword. It also is also a dragon slaying spear not a sword that uh...turns you into one? So he'd basically function as Lancer Siegfried/Sigurd in terms of role, while still opting to a more defensive patient and tenacious style of fighting, to keep alongside his Rider counterparts playstyle. So mostly a durable tank with a patient style of fighting to go in for one key thrust with his spear and have an affinity for slaying dragons.
  7. Koharu nodded as her fellow teammates introduced themselves, looking them up and down once more. Then, gesturing for everyone to gather around, she looked towards the coach. Then pointing to herself and then everyone else, she seemed to be indicating something to the coach. After a moment, with her eyebrow raised, the woman asked, "you want to duel them?" Koharu nodded. "Well, I have to see what you're made of anyway, so, go on. Show me what you got." At that moment Koharu looked to the rest of the students, a sweet smile on her face that soon switched into a much more predatory one. The rest of practice had gone on without a hitch. Whoever had decided to duel Koharu would fine that the girl was in no shortage of skill or pride, but definitely in need of humility. She had soundly beat her first challenger and anyone else who had decided to step up to the plate afterwards. And despite the fact that she never said any words, the smug expression on her face and how she conducted herself was more than enough to show that she wasn't the most graceful in victory either. The girl herself was quite pleased with how she had handled the duels, feeling like she had barely missed a beat in spite of her long hiatus. Despite seeming to enjoy what was likely less than enjoyable for her opponents, the girl didn't seem to do any gloating beyond her initial victory. In fact, once she had no more challengers, she instead hovered around everyone else who was practicing. Often times, she would simply look over someone's shoulder and stare, and if prompted to say anything just point at a card in their hand. Of course, as she didn't say anything, how they interpreted her advice was entirely on them. Once practice was over, Clara clapped her hands saying, "well, good work today guys. If you have any questions feel free to stay and ask, but we're done today." Clara went to pack her own things up, only for Koharu to then look at everyone else. She gave a short round of applause, then seemed to think for a bit before nodding. Wagging her finger at them for a moment, as if somehow chastising them, the girl then shrugged and gave them a thumbs up. The girl then brought her hand to her chest, before gesturing to everyone else. Pointing to the exit and waving her hand as if gesturing beyond it, the girl then gestured for everyone to follow her. Though this was probably gibberish to most, it was at least abundantly clear to Hana that the girl wanted to leave campus and go hang out around town.
  8. Lana let out a huge sigh of relief as she managed to not be eaten once again, owing her safety yet again to Estelle. Catching her breath, taking her axes cautiously out of the treasure chests corpse, the girl slowly backed away before looking back to the noble mage. In spite of all she had been through, she hadn't been actually all that injured. Physically at least. She was certain that there was some different kind of scarring from a treasure chest trying to eat her. Shaking her hand she said, "no, I'm doing good." The girl then noticed there was still the mimics arm attached to her, which blanched her for a moment before she made sure it wasn't going to do anything. Slowly, she pried the hand off finger by finger, watching it harmlessly fall to ground and letting out yet another sigh of relief. "Alright, yeah, not hurt." As the girl rubbed her arm, she then looked towards the mage again as Chris pointed out her own injuries. "Yeah, you should worry about yourself too, we're both A-Okay." Lana shuddered then at Chris's acknowledgement that this was only floor one of the day, the girl not really sure what other nightmarish horrors to expect in this dungeon. All the same, after opening the door to the next floor, the girl walked down the same kind of staircase they had done several times earlier. Walking through the uncovered entrance to the next floor, the girl gulped as she saw what appeared to be a small village of sorts. The girl stopped in her tracks almost immediately, looking these buildings up and down. They seemed to be made of stone, rather than wood, and didn't have any sort of roof to them. After examining them for a moment, Lana said, "let's be careful...we don't know if the buildings will come to life..." The girl stayed tense for a moment longer, before she relaxed at the sight of what seemed to be patrolling. "Oh good, it's only goblins," she muttered, seeming to very comforted by this. Despite this, though, Lana didn't want to charge head first into the village, instead looking at Chris. Nodding towards the goblins, the girl then waited to follow his lead on what to do next.
  9. Fen looked around to see that the scene around her had only grown more chaotic. The people were still running away from the subterranean predators, some going towards Melissa for help while others seemed to be running away from safety. The sharks, in turn, seemed to be moving towards both groups of civilians, as well as some towards her and a few others who were fighting. The girl put a hand to her chin as she tried to assess what the current situation. They had to save as many people as they could, but their predators were under ground so it wasn't like she could simply fire arrows at the creature's and hope for it to kill them through solid earth. Though, thinking more on it, Fen tried to think of how they were hunting in the first place. Normally she would assume that sharks would see through eyesight and use smell, but these were underground. All they could see and smell were dirt; well, there was the chance that they had some ability to see through solid objects but they didn't seem to be magically inclined beings, just different then the sea dwellers. So, after a moment of thinking, Fen had an idea. Creating a bow and arrow out of ice, the girl pulled back and fired towards one of the approaching sharks. Rapidly creating and firing the arrows, the girl continued to fire in a path arcing away from her, before finally tossing the bow to the ground. The shark had followed the path, launching out of the ground and eating the bow. Her eyes lighting up at this, she looked back to the shark he had killed moments ago and said, "I got it." She couldn't possibly deal with every shark on her own and even if she was, she wasn't nearly strong - and definitely not heavy - enough to lure them all away. Which meant she had to deal with her problems one step at a time. Taking a few steps towards the shark that had just ate her bow, she saw the fin veer and turn towards her, before the girl started to back up. She could try and kill the shark safely through multiple bleeding wounds, she needed to be fast and decisive here. Conjuring a large, spiked ball of ice in her hand, the girl watched as the shark barreled towards her. As it sprung out of the ground, the girl tossed the ball into its mouth, moving to the side and getting struck by the creature's fin as a result. Having the wind knocked out of her by the large predator's body, the girl tumbled back before looking back to see that shark hadn't dived back down just yet. Struggling with the spikes in its mouth, it eventually managed to break through the ice. Coughing as the water and blood from its own mouth went down, the creature eventually dove back downward. Not giving it an opportunity to go after anyone else though, Fen sprung back to her feet. Summoning a glaive of ice, the girl began to spin it, scraping it across the ground with every revolution. As the shark seemed to pick up on this, it veered towards her once again. Once it got close enough, Fen poured more magic into her spear, before hopping back and tossing the heavy ice polearm at the ground at the same time. Conjuring yet another spear, Fen waited to see the shark burst out of the ground going after her discarded weapon. However, as it opened up its mouth, the young huntress lobbed her spear straight into its mouth, causing the creature to fall back to the ground and spasm a bit before finally stopping. Barely out of the woods yet, Fen looked over to Trevor, who seemed to have his own hands full. Yet still, she shouted, "Trevor! Um, when you're done...if you have any magic to uh, throw these shark bodies, please use it. A lot. Oh uh, over there!" The girl pointed towards an empty spot near the fleeing citizens
  10. Tsubasa was stretching her legs at the gate, outfitted in her brand new hero outfit. A tank top. Gym shorts. A baseball cap. Sneakers. On closer examination, if anyone were to see Tsubasa outside of school they would realize that she was in fact wearing her usual casual sportswear. Nothing about it seemed new in the slightest, outside of her sneakers which could've been identified regardless of what she had been wearing. Tsubasa had recently run her old sneakers through, so she had to buy a new pair after the first day of class this week, and they seemed to be perfectly suited for both parkour and kicking evil doer butt. Or, rather, Hero Teacher butt in this case. Of course, nothing really about Tsubasa's outfit seemed particularly heroic and it was a wonder how this even constituted one at all. It didn't. Earlier in the week, Tsubasa had been asked by the staff if there was anything that she needed for a hero's outfit. She had responded that she already had it taken care of. In truth, Tsubasa wanted to use this as an excuse to wear her more casual and comfortable clothes to school. Hero costumes were cool to look and all, but they didn't look all that comfortable to wear and the feline hero in training performed best when she was comfortable. And she would need to be at her best to clear today's task; fighting a bear. The cat girl waited around for everyone's questions to be finished, and all she really knew now that was there was also a briefcase they were supposed to nab. That part seemed easy enough, at least. The girl wondered briefly how much easier it was to steal from a bear then it was to beat them in a fight. She knew that bears were notorious thieves in the west, but didn't know how that translated over to Asian bears. Perhaps her research hadn't been the most productive prior to coming here. Tsubasa also briefly wondered if she was thinking about their opponent's quirk too literally, but such a thought didn't last long either. Ah, how fleeting. Walking with the rest of her group, Tsubasa stopped in her tracks as Sun was immediately decked. Letting out a whistle as she saw the monkey man get knocked back, the girl grinned as she looked towards her teacher. Jumping up and tapping her feet together in mid air, Tsubasa let her teammates get to work as she prepped herself to move. Tsubasa wasn't naturally violent, nor was she particularly a combat junky. In fact, the idea of fighting was exciting more to her due to the novelty of it over anything else. Yet, she was certainly easily taken in by the mood. And with the atmosphere as it was, Tsubasa couldn't help but get into brawling mood. "Well, if you don't want to come towards them, then I guess I should come towards you!" Jumping in place for a moment, ignoring anything her teammates had thought of, Tsubasa simply rushed forward. Once she was a few feet away from the teacher, the girl jumped into the air spinning off of her foot. Spinning in mid air further, Tsubasa went to deliver a flying kick at her teacher. Hemlock giggled as she saw her students begin their approach. "Wonderful display of enthusiasm everyone. That's a good way to start any fight with a villain. And such wonderful coordination too. But..." As Natalia approached the teacher, a faint mist started to trail off of her hand, forming into a ball. The woman took a deep breath and closed her eyes and gestured her hands upward, only for the smoke from the student to cover her face. From Natalia's own smoke, though, the ball of mist Hemlock had formed came sailing right out of it, and exploded on contact with her in a much larger cloud. The woman also didn't seem slowed at all, moving gracefully to the side and causing Diana's fist to simply strike the ground instead of her. A second ball of mist could be seen in the woman's free hand, sending it straight towards Yasha at a speed reminiscent of that of a pro baseball players pitch. Similarly, when it got close enough to him it exploded into a cloud around him. Opening her eyes and taking a deep breath back, "a distraction like that doesn't mean much if the follow up simply isn't there, Kemuri. As for you, Seigi" she looked down at Diana nonchalantly, saying, "a flying attack when you have no means to maneuver or defend yourself is more dangerous to yourself then your opponent. Just think of what might have happened if I had a more lethal or forceful quirk." In spite of being in a battle the woman was still talking without a care in the world, at speeds that hardly seemed reasonable either. "And it's very good of you to want to protect your ally when their goal is as telegraphed as hers is, Yokona. But, stalling will only get you so far against me, so think about your actions wisely." The woman smiled towards everyone again, with both Natalia and Yasha feeling a stinging sensation and fatigue start to set in on their bodies as they stayed in the mists.
  11. Ryia's eyes were fixated on the flames, her expression aghast, trying to make out if she could see anything of Damien beneath the flames. Her legs were rooted firmly in place, too shocked to move and too unsure of herself to even be able to make a difference even if she did. She simply waited for something, some sign of him to still be alive or able to make it out of the flames. As she stared, though, her attention was suddenly taken by the sound of her foe. The demon had seen fit to start moving and leap towards her. As she realized it was attacking, the girl turned to face it; her expression blank but a clear fury in her eyes and she locked them with the demon. Slowed down by the ice the demon's advance was not quite as fast as it had hoped, and the moment she noticed it coming there wasn't a shred of hesitation in Ryia's movements. Taking a single stomp forward, Ryia brought up her shield and shoved it into the demon. The armament slammed against the creature, interrupting its leap and causing it to fall back. Taking another step forward, the girl pushed with her shield bringing it back to her side and pushing the demon further back. Raising her mace up, the girl's expression broke way into one more of frustration and rage as she gritted her teeth. She was angry. Angry at the demons for putting them in this position, for striking at her friends, for keeping her from being able to help them. She was angry at the lion for protecting the demon gate, for calling these demons, for harming her friends. And she was frustrated with herself, her own helplessness and inability to stop what had happened so far. Letting out an enraged shout, the girl brought her mace down, striking with as much strength as she could muster into the demon's head. The demons body bent downward, letting out a gasp of pain and seemed to be struggling upright. Its head was partially caved in, blood oozing out of it and its body was twitching, still barely holding onto life. And with what life it had, it continued to fight. Bringing up its mangled arm to strike at Ryia's exposed side, the head injury and frost had made its movements sluggish. And so, Ryia was able to swing her mace upward, uppercutting the demon's face with her weapon. Being forced in the opposite direction it was moving, the demon was knocked off its feet and onto the ground. Looking at the downed demon, it still struggling to move, Ryia brought her mace down one last time into the creature's face, ending it. With the creature dead, the girl looked back to where Damien had been. Panic had briefly set in as she saw nothing there, her eyes starting to dart around only to finally settle on his body underneath Madelyn's dome of light. Letting out a sigh of relief, seeing that he was being tended to - though still worried if he would make it all the same - the girl started to steady her hasty breathing. Even though Damien was safe, her frustration did not cease. She hadn't felt particularly useful so far and she knew she had to do something to keep the pressure off of the others, but also was aware of how it was impossible for her to go toe to toe with the lion. Reluctantly, she had to leave it to the other two, hoping that they would be able to pull through against the beast just as they had the archwizard. And so, Ryia looked to the demons that had just appeared, biting down on her lip as she walked towards them.
  12. Lana stumbled back as one of the arms that had been holding onto her was severed, as well as being yanked away from its mouth. Looking at the creature somewhat fearfully, Lana then looked over to Estelle saying, "th-thanks for the save." As the noblewoman then asked her question, Lana shook her head saying, "no I'm pretty sure I'm alr- Ah!" She yelped as she realized the creature's arm was still attached to her. Shaking her arm vigorously, the hand attached to her not moving at all, the girl then moved to pry it off. Letting out a grunt as she pulled, the arm didn't seem to be budging any and Lana eventually gave up on pure brute force. Looking back to Estelle she said, "well, I guess there's this? But it doesn't hurt any and isn't getting in the way of anything so -" She was cut off at a distressed "uh!" suddenly echoing through the room. Seeing that Chris was in a similarly terrible situation to what she had just recently been in, Lana grabbed at her axe, getting ready to charge the creature. Before she did, however, Estelle first seemed to cast a spell, funneling some kind of magical energy into Lana's weapon. Looking at it in awe, the girl smiled brightly saying, "thanks Estelle! Now then..." Looking more aggressively towards the mimic, the girl shouted, "hey you! Let go of him!" Stepping forward, Lana brought up her axe and swung it right into the back of creature's faux treasure chest head. The creature froze for a brief moment, allowing Chris to slash through its arm and fall back to the ground safely away from the impending doom that was the mimic's mouth. Then, in a sudden burst of speed, the mimic whipped its head around, wrenching lana's great axe out of her hands as a result. Stumbling forward as this happened, Lana let out a frustrated grunt before righting herself. Frowning at the creature as it seemed to take great interest in looking to eat her, Lana shouted, "fine, you want to take my axe from me? Then here's another! Hiyah!" Taking her hand axe out, the girl chucked it at the mimic, this time embedding the axe in the front of the head. Stumbling forward, head weighed down by axes and no hands to speak of, the mimic fell to the ground. As it did, it lashed out its tongue, looking to grab onto Lana with it which resulted in an all too familiar, "uhhhh!"
  13. Fen simply stood around awkwardly, as the demon man continued to be perturbed at most everything around him and Melissa had gone to help comfort the Devin puddle. She looked at the others, not really keeping any form of eye contact for the moment and then looked back to the screen, again not maintaining eye contact. She had a lot of questions, for everyone really. Or, well, she thought she did at least. When she actually tried to think of what to ask, especially to the big person on the screen she started to draw a blank, as to what to actually say. And so, she just opted to stand there awkwardly, feeling like pacing to sort out her thoughts and also not speak to anyone but also figuring it would be rude. So, she just stood still. As a result, she was almost thankful for the sudden warning alarm that came, feeling literally saved by the bell. She had come to the conclusion that she had much preferred getting straight to work then staying in this room for any longer, and so she felt a wave of relief go over her as Mauvache gave them the situation update. She was less relieved when she felt the incredibly unfamiliar feeling of being teleported, blinking a bit as she looked around the area confused. As it had been not ten minutes ago, she was now in an area completely different. Only at least this place still looked like the city they had just been in. The girl was forced to get her bearings almost instantly, though, as the panicked screams of the public immediately hit her ears. Looking around, it had seemed that there had definitely been some force here that had torn up through the area. A concerned expression crossing her face, the girl was wondering what kind of force or person could possibly do this much devastation to the ground, only for her eyes to spot a fin moving through the concrete. And then, she saw it as it burst out of the ground, destroying more property in the process and continuing to terrorize the public. Fen's face lit up as she saw the foe that she was supposed to go up against. "Oh, I've never seen ones like this before!" Her generally demure tone was replaced by one of excitement as she looked at the sharks. Fen hadn't had much up close and personal experience with salt water marine life, but she had even less experience with marine life that thought the ground was the ocean! She hadn't ever really prepped regular shark before either so she wasn't sure how land sharks, as they seemed to be, were in comparison. As such, Fen was quite pumped up to get ready to hunt the sudden threat to the public, reigning in her own excitement as she remembered that there were indeed people in peril around her. Clearing her throat, the girl said, "well, um, let's go uh, defeat those shark. Yeah." Following the others who had already made their way into the battlefield, Fen as well slowly walked towards the sharks. Normally, she would've preferred to keep her distance between them, but both due to wanting to research them more closely as well not being sure she could get a good hit just by sitting back and firing at their fin. As she stepped closer towards the battle, the fin poking out of the concrete seemed to veer towards her and tear through the ground. Fen seemed impassive as it made its way towards her, conjuring an icy dagger in her hand. As the shark popped out of the ground, Fen side stepped the oncoming land predator without much effort, swiftly plunging her ice dagger into its gills. As the blade entered, Fen let out a yelp in surprise, as the weapon was wrenched from her hand and the gill began to make a grinding noise. "It uh, eats weapons. Huh..." The girl marveled at his, though was still seemed to be a bit spooked at her revelation, shuddering at the thought of what might happen if her hand was stuck in there instead. All the same, she knew where not to attack first, and so tried something else out. Conjuring a longsword of ice now, Fen awaited her prey to jump out yet again. As it did, she managed to step to the side and easily evade it as she had before, slashing at the shark as it passed by her. While its skin was hard, Fen's blade managed to draw blood from it, causing a cut to form across the creature's body as it dove back underground. Stepping back and waiting for the shark to come at her again, she realized something was off as she heard something immediately coming from behind her. Looking to see another shark at her back, leaping out of the ground, Fen raised her hand and conjured a small wall of ice. Bringing the wall up, the girl used it to delay the shark's bite and side step it, stopping its mid air flight for a brief moment before its face shattered through the frozen construct. Flailing a bit, Fen was not expecting the resulting tail slap, being hit in the arm and knocked to the ground. Tumbling, Fen pushed off the ground quickly and got to her feet, though still in a crouching position. As she saw one of the sharks coming at her again, the girl opted to stay low to the ground. Conjuring two spears of ice in her hands, she waited for the shark to leap out of the ground at her, and once it did she shoved both of the spears into the mouth of the creature. As the spears impaled the shark, Fen pushed down on them, having the end of the spear press against the ground the spears to prop the shark's top half up. Letting go of them, the spears only stopped the creature for just long enough for Fen to begin her evasive maneuvers, easily snapping under the weight of the creature. With the ice spears still impaling the insides of the shark, though, it thrashed about for a while unable to submerge before finally giving out and dying. Letting out a sigh of relief, Fen stood back up straight. She looked at the dead shark wistfully, simply saying, "I'll be back to gut you later," before looking back towards the urban carnage.
  14. Picking herself up, trying to recover from the tumble that she just took, Ryia looked to see that there was a large melee going on at the lion. With Reinaan having mounted the lion and managing to inflict a serious wound on it, he took a tumble off of it as well as he was attacked by a demon. With the Draken managing to shake off the imp, both of them got off the lion, whos ice breathing head had let loose an attack that seemed to only catch the demon. With the demon recovering from the attack, Damien had run up, using the demon as a springboard and slashed at the lion's already injured head, creating a deep gash that oozed the same thick blood as all others had. As the deep gash formed on it, the lion roared in pain and turned to swat Damien, knocking the swordsman to the ground. Ryia, now getting towards the fight elected to try and help, those was intercepted by the recovering demon. Moving to slash at it, the demon was nimble enough to catch the blade, the weapon biting into its arm. Then, with its free arm, it went to swing at Ryia. Pushing down on her blade arm, the girl then swung her shield arm in the opposite direction, intercepting the clawed hand of the imp. The hand pressed against the metal with a surprising degree of force, Ryia stumbling a step back as she was caught of guard by it. The demon then hadn't given up, yanking on Ryia's blade to pull her closer. Rather then getting in a tug of war with it, though, the girl merely let go of the blade. Balling up her hand into a fist, she then went for a follow up attack, striking the demon in the face though that only seemed to confuse it more then anything else. Pulling her hand back, the girl drew her mace out only for the demon to then charge at her with both claws at the ready. Turning her body and stepping back, the girl raised her shield to block against the creature's good arm and avoid the already damaged one. Though she had managed to block against the attack, the demon ducked down and went to bite at her. Taking another step back, the girl swiftly brought her mace down on the creature's head, though only managed to stagger it. The girl then went for a follow up swing at the creature, though again her mace had only found an awkward glancing blow against the creature's shoulder. Recovering again from the attacks, the demon then went to grab at Ryia, though rather than avoid away from it she pressed forward, shoving her shield into the creature. Not expecting this, the demon was shoved back, staggering back. As Ryia got ready to keep up her duel with the imp, she noticed that the lion turned to have its red head facing Damien. Inhaling, the lion let loose a stream of flame at the boy. Seeing this, Ryia could only but shout, "Damien!" as the flames raced at him.
  15. Clara let out a sigh at Hana's comment once again saying, "right, alright. Let's get going kiddos." With their goodbyes having been said to the other team, the team went back to their bus and shipped off back to Horizon Academy. On the way there, they stopped at a nearby fast food restaurant. The place wasn't particularly special, but Clara seemed to have some weird insistence that stopping at a place like this after a meet was important - if not downright critical - to the success of the team. All in all, it was a fairly relaxed trip and the group then went back to the school afterwards. The coach was glad to see that even though it was late, most of the team was still willing to stay after to be critiqued. Though she couldn't help but look a bit annoyed as Peter seemed to opt out. The meeting didn't last long regardless, and most of the advice boiled down to being aware of what their opponent could do as well as trying to think of a fall back plan if the initial idea was disrupted. The next day had rolled around and Clara had spent her time supervising the practice as normal. Simply telling everyone to freely duel each other, she started the day off without giving any advice and then later started to give more pointed criticism towards the team members in the middle of their duels. Specifically for Peter, the woman would interject every other time he entered his battle phase. Rather than actually giving him any specific advice, though, she would simply wait for 10 seconds before telling him to continue on. All and all, practice was going by fairly well before Clara interrupted their practice with an announcement. "Right, I figured I'd tell you guys to keep things free for next week. I got us another meet against a school, one that's a lot farther away and a lot more of a challenge the Ocean's Coast. Kashano High." Those who knew much about the high school scene of Duel Monsters would know that Kashano was in a different prefecture then them entirely, and that they were a school that seemed to either make it to the finals of their prefectural tournament, or place well in the nationals. Last year they had made it to the top eight, and though the majority of their starting roster had graduated recent news had still generated hype and high expectations around their prospects for this year. After saying the name, Clara seemed to pause, both for dramatic effect and seeming to have some odd sense of dread looming over her, if only for a moment. Shaking her head, she said, "anyway, be sure to make it. Especially because our roster is much just big enough to play in an official match. With both of our captains gone you guys are going to need to step it up too." "Beep boop bam bom!" The door to the gym opened as Clara finished, with the enthusiastic looking Miss Breiner, mimicking an announcement speaker, walking in. "Don't worry about your members Clara, because I have good news for you. You're getting a new one today." Confused and dumbfounded at the suddenness of this, Clara blinked for a few moments before asking, "were you just...waiting out there?" Breiner's expression didn't seem to change at all, and she simply continued, "well, I say new member. But it's more a returning member. She was on the roster last year and I think the seniors last year were even thinking of making her the captain too." Raising an eyebrow, Clara asked, "why am I just hearing about this now then?" "Well, see, she got into an accident and broke her arm before the start of the spring tournament last year. And then she got into a fight on the first day of school and was suspended. What a misfortunate girl. Charlie and Avi probably just thought she quit and Hana," Miss Breiner looked over to the girl, simply smiling at her. "Well, she's back now, so be sure to be nice to her everyone. Because she's here. Right now. Come on in Koharu!" Slowly, the other door of the gym's double doors creaked open, until a young girl roughly as old as Hana walked in. The girl looked around the room curiously for a bit, before giving a smile to everyone a wave in greeting. Silence then followed for a moment, before Miss Breiner spoke up again. "Well, I have to be going back to my own club now, have fun and good luck duel team!" As the Digital Media Teacher left, Koharu watched her leave and then stood at the door. She looked around at everyone, and more specifically at their duel disks and decks, before walking further in. "Uh...hello there...Koharu, was it?" Clara wasn't sure what to make of the suddenness of everything that just happened, and Koharu herself looked to the coach and nodded. The woman sighed and said, "well, that solves one issue. I guess."
  16. In spite of the fact that she had been trying to strike the darkmantle and get it off of her leg with her axe, as the noble woman came and told her to not make any sudden movements Lana complied. A nervous look on her face as she practically stiffened up, worried that if she did do anything that whatever magic Estellise was going to use would do something wild and painful to her. As the creature was speared through with pure light the girl gave out a sigh of relief. Shivering in light disgust from the feeling of the creature being pulled off of her, Lana took Estelle's hand to stand up and said, "thanks for the help. That was...gross." Lana couldn't help but feel that the dungeon was filled with a bunch unsettling and disgusting creatures, wondering why there were so many of them. Why not something like a goose? Sure, they weren't the prettiest bird out there but they were aggressive enough to be like a monster and likely wouldn't make Lana feel like she needed several baths after fighting. Letting out a sigh again the girl said, "well, we did it gang. We cleared this floor and now all that's left is the treasure to claim! Nothing to stop us now from getting them." As Chris went to go pick the lock of the closed chest, Lana looked at the chest in front of her. Clapping and rubbing her hands together, a smile formed on the girl's face as she bent down to open it. "Now, let's see what you've got inside." Grabbing the lid of the chest the girl opened it further, only for the chest to start shaking. "Eh?" The girl's confusion was only amplified as arms stretched out of the chest and grabbed at her own. Stunned for a moment by the suddenness of all of this, Lana could only let out another, "Ehh?" As the arms started to pull on her, a tongue then stretched out to pull at her neck, teeth forming around the lid of the chest. Pulling her closer, the girl's eyes went wide as she started to pull back in a losing tug of war. "Chriiiiiiiiiisssss! Essssteeeeeelllllle!! The treasure's trying to eat me!"
  17. Best RPer: Hollow Best Host: LordCowCow Best Character Design: Doggo Best World Design: Sethera Best Writer: Radio414 Best Reliable: LordCowCow Best Cooperative: Saikazo Best Helpful: Radio414 Best in Chat: Hakima Best RP: Gijinka The Fallen God Best Character: Melissa Ashforth I can provide more explanation for these if need be but for now I'll only go with Best RP and Character because I feel like it. Gijinka being the second ever RP I've been in that has finished and also just being enjoyable on the whole. I had a blast making fight scenes there and even more so unlike the first RP that finished I was in I actually got to write and see a satisfying conclusion and epilogue to my own and everyone else's characters. Kudos to all of you for that and congrats for making it to the end as well. Melissa as well gets special mention from me mostly because I just want to give props to Radio for the first character I saw him make and obviously one that has stuck with me. This mostly goes into the Best Writer thing but as someone who does the "shy girl" archetype from time to time myself, it's pretty nice to see what I consider a very well done approach to it - not just in terms of the character herself but the type of narration that accompanies it - and I'm pretty sure at the end of the day my own writing style has been changed a bit as a result. So props to you Radio my dude. Keep on keeping on rp peeps.
  18. Ryia picked herself up from the ground, glad to have not been both burned and frozen at the same time, Ryia took a closer look at the lion now that she was safe. It wasn't as though the action itself was particularly surprising, but she still couldn't help but look shocked as she saw the Draken on the underside of the creature. Though he managed to claw through the creature, causing thick clumps of blood to plop out of the creature's open wounds, the girl winced as he was tossed off. Damien, meanwhile, seemed to still be wildly charging the creature, striking it with his sword and though he managed to strike true he was swatted away like a fly by the lion. Staring down the red head of the lion, Ryia looked between her two companions knowing that she had to take the pressure off of both of them somehow. Gripping her mace tightly, the girl banged it against her shield calling attention to herself before beginning to let out a shout and charge the lion. The red head snarled before letting loose another flaming breath attack, but rather than trying to block it, Ryia just braced herself and continued to charge through it. Though the flames were hot and her metal armaments weren't helping, the ring that they had gotten back in the desert proved to still be working as being warm was the worst of the flame breath's effects. Getting close enough, the girl wound up her mace arm ready to strike, only for the beast to stop its bellowing flame and immediately attempt to snap its jaw down at her. Seeing the bite coming, Ryia forcibly put a stop to her momentum and with a nervous expression hastily pulled her arm back from swinging into its jaws and start to backpedal furiously away from it. As the creature ended up biting air instead of her, though still very close for comfort, Ryia let out a sigh of relief. However, all she had managed to do was distract one head and was still feeling pressed to apply even more pressure as the beast let out a frost breath towards Damien. Though the man managed to slash through some of the frigid air, it was clear that the ice was starting to coat him even more and become more of a problem. As Ryia continued to back away, the lion seemed prepared to continue its assault on the girl. As it began to charge at her again, the girl noticed that Reinaan had picked himself up. Using the opening that Ryia had provided for him, as the beast began to charge at her the Draken boy moved forward and dropped to the floor, his stone infused scales sliding across the stone floor. As the beast pounced, the Fire Chosen struck back against the creature's already wounded belly, slashing into it even more and causing more damage to the creature. Ryia's focus was torn between the beast and her companions attack, as well as being incredibly close to the lion to begin with. As she tried to back away from it, she figured the only way that she would avoid the creature's attack was by diving to the side again. But her thought process was slower than the creature's attack, the lion leaping onto her and pressing one of its paws down on her. Being sandwiched between the cavern floor and the beast's massive paw, Ryia started to let out several grunts of pain and exertion as she tried to push back against the creature to no avail, slowly feeling herself being crushed underneath the immense weight of the beast.
  19. Having been freed from the assault of the two darkmantles, if only briefly, Lana was able to take stock of the threats that were coming at her. One darkmantle was diving from above, already injured from the arrow that Estelle had fired, and one that was diving at her leg. Looking at the two gross creatures Lana was feeling her instinctual "smash everything," in her fight or flight instincts, but didn't think she would be able to smash both at once. So, deciding that she didn't want her head to be eaten, opted to attacking the one above first. Grabbing her axe with both hands, the girl hefted the bladed weapon up and cleaved into the floating creature. Her blade split through it and with its weight and the force of her swing spiked the creature towards the ground. With it dead, Lana's head was safe but her leg was much less so. As the second darkmantle wrapped itself around her leg the girl was suddenly knocked off balance, letting go of her great axe and being sent to the ground. Feeling her leg being dragged towards the creature's maw, as well as thoroughly grossed out by the feeling of having this creature wrapped around her, the girl brought out her second hand axe and began swinging at it. Though she tried to swing at it, she was far too conscientious of not trying to cleave off her own leg, that she ended up just striking at the air around her rather than the monster itself. So instead, switching to whacking it with the pommel of her weapon shouting, "get off you gross mouth, umbrella thing!"
  20. Fen winced as the fish had tackled into the petite girl, but was glad to see that she was relatively unharmed. With their brief split up having been solved, mostly, the girl was then ready to get going towards their answers. And the answers they were presented with wasn't quite what she had been expecting. The group made their way into a large building that had been labeled as an arena, and further inside the building the group had found themselves in a large room filled with nothing but glowing blue panels. The girl was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of a woman on these panels, wondering if the panels themselves were some kind of conduit for magic or something. The girl didn't really get far in her line of thinking, though, as the woman named Mauvache explained just what was going on. For starters, they were from another world. All of them. And all of them were summoned here with the sole purpose of fighting evil doers of various kinds. Also from other worlds. The girl was having a hard time processing everything, though the more she thought on it the more she thought it would be a good idea to work backwards on this matter. Beasts and villains from other worlds; she was used to fighting monsters and had fought her fair share of villainous, some of both that even had strength she wouldn't think possible. Otherworldly? That wasn't entirely accurate, all of it was quite grounded in her own world based on the principles of their magic even if sometimes taken to an extreme. But, for simplicity sake, that part was easy to understand. That it was attached to what would now be their new "job" made it even easier to comprehend. Then there was the part about them being heroes; Fen hardly thought of herself as one, especially when compared to all of her other guildmates. As far as physicality, magic and creativity went, Fen felt like she was lacking in all of those aspects in comparison to her guildmates. From her fight with Skadi she was shown first and foremost how inferior and uninspired an ice mage she was, and at the end of the day all she was doing was copying Vincent. It wasn't like she could turn into a dragon or anything, so she didn't really understand why Mauvache had chosen her of all people. Maybe everyone else's schedules were too packed? Fen realized that didn't begin to remotely make sense, but the woman assured them that they were all chosen by her for a reason and even if Fen thought it was just lip service at the moment she would just go along and do her best anyway. Finally, they were from all other worlds - universes in fact...Well, she was sure she'd sort that out later. Before Fen could say anything, by the time she had finally sorted her thoughts together one of her companions suddenly started shouting. Looking towards the shapeshifter, Devin, as they started shrieking and panicking, before passing out on the floor, Fen stared blankly at them. Clearly shocked and not used to this situation - the one shapeshifter she knew never having a problem like this - the girl looked towards everyone, then back to the mass unsure if it was safe to touch or handle them the way they were now. Looking over to Mauvache the girl said, "are...um, are they alright? Like that? Uh..." "Of course! Well, probably. The floor is clean at any rate." "I...I see..." Fen knew how hard it was keeping a floor clean, so she was glad that was the case but she also wasn't sure if that the priority concern at the moment. Still, generally unsure with just about everything the girl did a small bow to the woman on screen saying, "well, um...I look forward to working with you..." She continued to glance towards the others after doing so.
  21. Ryia stayed behind her earthen wall for a moment, looking on as the others went in to engage after her. The group wasn't able to make much head way against the beast, it showcasing its superior size and strength against each of them as well as coupling it with the troublesome magical attacks that it seemed to posses. Adding to her worries, it seemed that Reinaan was getting into a bit of a bind and there seemed to be something concerning her about Damein's demeanor. Yet, she didn't have much time to think about these either as panic soon filled her eyes, looking around as the lion roared. Creatures that she had never seen before; so unearthly yet humanoid, so alien but with a familiar presence, and so monstrous. She didn't need Madelyn to tell her what they were, but that the girl voiced and validated her thoughts in doing so. They were demons. And they were attacking the mages. Ryia had felt the urge to spring into action and rush back to them, trying to aid them as best she could. Yet Lindow had beat her to the punch, teleporting towards one of them and engaging in combat with it. While she felt terrible about leaving Keres and Madelyn surrounded by them, she also couldn't afford to leave Reinaan and Damien - both who seemed to be in difficult situations themselves - alone. And if she left her proximity to the lion there was little way that she could easily close the distance yet again. So, Ryia took a deep breath, trying to calm and steady herself as she resolved to go on the offensive against the lion. Sheathing her blade, the girl took out her mace and began to steadily walk towards the beast, heeding Reinaan's advice. Making her way towards the back leg of the creature, the girl reeled her mace back and swung it as hard as she could. The hit was solid and she could tell she managed to hurt it, even if it not breaking anything. The beast, grimacing as it realized it had been assailed started to walk back and turned to face its aggressor. There was a moment of struggle in moving its leg, one that Ryia noticed and didn't want to let up on as the creature moved. Rushing forward, the girl managed to bash her mace against the leg yet again, albeit more a glancing blow this time. Speeding up, the lion sent its nearer front paw towards her, swatting at her like she was a pest. Bringing up her shield, the girl managed to hastily back away from the lion's attack, gulping as the paw narrowly missed her, seeing it up close and personal. As it brought the paw down, though, Ryia's troubles were far from over as the head was now fully facing her.
