  5. Alexis smirked at Yue. She could tell how hard that was for the girl to say but she said it nonetheless. Out of instinct Alexis put a hand on the archer's shoulder in an attempt to calm her somewhat. The bull's response left a lot to be desired. She wondered what "Steel Chickens" could mean. Maybe it was some kind of slang that she hadn't heard of before. Alexis glanced over at Yue to see if she knew what it meant before shrugging. "I'll look forward to you eating your words big guy." she said to him. Looking around she didn't really see much of interest. Nothing more than she could find at any old bar back home at least. But at least she got a hook for a potential vessel. One that came with a hint of adventure and exploration at that. Adding on to this she couldn't help but notice Yue's discomfort. She wasn't sure why the girl had come here to begin with but it was clear that she wanted to be anywhere else right now. Though it also looked like Yue was hesitating for some reason. Alexis thought she might make the decision for her and save Yue the trouble. "Hey, why don't we head out? Doesn't look like there's anything for us here. Not till we get big guy over there his boat." She paused, then called out to him "Oi, what's its name anyway?" After getting a response, or lack thereof, Alexis hooked a thumb towards the door and grinned at Yue. "Alright, seems we've got some searching to do. Got any idea where to start, lovely hunter from Yon'Lou?" "um. Anything catch your eye?" Rona was entirely lost. She didn't even know where to start. It seemed that there were more choices than she had ever seen yet nothing looked like anything she was used to. She picked up one outfit and gave it a confused look. She held it up towards Leon, "What is the purpose of this? All this would get caught on a saddle or an enemy's sword." Leon looked at the outfit curiously as well saying, "I'm not entirely sure. You're right in that it doesn't seem very practical, but instead..." Leon put a hand to his chin as he said, "I guess it's more for show? Though, it's definitely more revealing then any dress clothing I've ever seen." "Why would someone want to make a show of how they dress?" It was bizarre to her. Clothes was there to protect your body from the weather and make sure nothing got damaged. "Though it seems much better than that." She pointed at a dress over by another stall. Leon looked at the dress, saying, "Well, for combat the other one is probably better. That one is better for more formal occasions and the like." Rona nodded, understanding dawning on her, "So you think I should get the first one?" "Eh?" Leon looked at the girl confused saying, "um, I don't know if that's really good for what we're looking for. Though I guess I don't know what we're looking for...Hmm." Leon looked at the two options of clothing, thinking more saying, "both would probably look good, but...hmmm...We should probably look for something else." "This is a more complicated matter than I thought." Her gaze swept again through the various stalls. She had to find something that was battle ready. One particular outfit stood out after some searching. Her main concern was how much the heat would get to her in it. But, if Leon thought it would work... She held it out to him. "What about this? It looks like the clothes of a fierce warrior." Leon looked at the outfit, and back to Rona. Thinking on it for a moment he said, "I suppose it's similar to what you're currently wearing." She wasn't sure of what the commander intended. "Is that...bad?" He looked at the girl saying, "no, I don't think so. I've never thought what you wore was bad before, so it's probably fine." Rona wasn't sure why but the statement caused her to smile. It wasn't as though it really meant much but a commander's approval was something she still was unused to. With an eager nod she turned on her heels and presented it to the merchant. "I will take this." She declared, with a hint of pride in her voice. She had done it. She had new bought clothes!

  8. Sergei managed to reach one of the rats before they decided to pounce on the group. The creature let out a hissing noise as its head was grabbed. A noise that didn't last long as the beast's skull was crushed against the wall of the tunnel. It took several hits but the rat soon stopped moving as Sergei felt warm blood leaking down his fingers. The other two, startled by the movement, recklessly advanced towards the rest of the group. Ignoring the large man who had grabbed one of their fellows. The first, somewhat faster, rat made a beeline straight towards Chris. It didn't waste much time and as the rat got near it leapt up in order to sink its fangs in Chris's face. Bringing with it a rather heavy body that would be in position to slam into him were the main attack fail. The further one darted to the side and got in range of Lana's axe. As the rat was focused on biting her, without even the smallest instinct to avoid the incoming weapon, she managed to bring her axe down on the beast's skull without much of a fuss.
  9. I forgot how song titles worked and at first thought I was about to hear Mark Zuckerberg sing 6.5/10
  10. “Something behind the altar caused that thing’s power to stop! I will distract it! Go quickly and find its source!” Gunther wasn't very comfortable taking orders from this strange, and still suspicious, man. He glanced over to where he last saw Penelope and realized he couldn't see her from his position. Though despite this hesitation in the short moment where he was deciding if he should listen to the man or not it seemed to no longer matter. The light faded even faster than it had appeared and Gunther saw, mouth slightly agape, that the threat had suddenly passed. Evidently someone had gotten to the source before him. The other light soon flared up and he winced. Then a voice spoke. A feminine voice. One that, due to their words, seemed to be the one they were searching for. Gunther gave an awkward glance towards Abdul. He still was an unknown but, unless this was quite the trick, he didn't seem to be the one who caused this. Though the Knight didn't feel like his response was the wrong one he only wished that this voice would have sounded before this all started as it would have saved him some embarrassment. "It is done. We should put out the fire." Catriona's order snapped him to attention. He would leave dealing with him to the princesses. "Right, on it." Gunther said. Looking around for something to help smother the flames. Which was when he saw...them. The people formerly known as badger and beaver. The town's mayor and...some girl. As she looked his way Gunther's eyes widened in realization. His mind went back to earlier when he was petting several beavers. Did that mean...He blushed and looked away. Continuing his quest to help get rid of the flames. "Well, wasn't that interesting?" Penelope said as she got up, the numbness fading, and brushed the dirt from her skirt. So much more information to process. The woman had, in a way, revealed themselves. She would remember that voice, those words, and be on alert for any future attacks. She was quite excited for the day she could confront whoever that had been. She also took note of the man who had ran out. Likely they had been some sort of small animal that was hiding during all this before the curse lifted. His face was an easy one to remember. He'd be sure to find them after this and question them. Though for now there were others to get answers from first. Not the girl, though Penelope couldn't help but but slightly amused hearing her attitude towards Catriona. It was rare one spoke to her elder sister in such a way. The mayor was the one she was focused on now. "Speaking of everything we did." She said, approaching him with a friendly smile and a frosty gaze. "I think there's a few things that you should elaborate on, Mr Mayor." She noticed another among them she hadn't seen before. Likely the same source of that unknown magic from before. "And you would do well to introduce yourself, stranger." Her eyes lost their cool edge for a moment as she addressed him, however. Cora hadn't fully thought this through. Sure she had cleaved into the thing but the fall was rather painful as she landed. She managed to hit the ground on her feet, with the support of one hand, but it still stung and shook her body intensely. And then the magical wave had come and knocked her over again. Once she was up, however, she had discovered that the statue had ceased its attack. She let out a sigh of relief and almost slumped back down onto her knees. The adrenaline rushing out of her suddenly. It was over. It was really over. They had defeated it...somehow. She wasn't really sure how it had worked out but as long as it did that was fine by her. And then she heard a voice she thought was lost to her forever several times through all of this. Acantha. And the mayor, she supposed, though that was less important. She could hardly believe her eyes. She really had been a beaver. And was actually back! The words she spoke towards Catriona choked the girl up. "It's really you." Cora muttered, eyes watering. "Looks like you're in one piece, at least," Cora nodded, trying hard to keep from letting her emotions spill over. They were saved. The curse was gone. They had managed to bring the town back! She couldn't help herself as she hurried over to her friend and touched her shoulder to get her attention. When Acantha started to turn Cora threw her arms around the girl, knowing she'd get an earful for this later, and delivered a crushing hug to her fellow guardswoman. "I was...so afraid." Cora admitted for the first time out loud. Her tears now flowing freely down her face.
