  5. True I guess you have a point... though that is why you and me don't go posting our personal information like names, addresses, age, credit cards, etc but yes you make a good point. Also I don't really live in the US. I'm a kinda a hater of the mainstream, true also I could self-host a encrypted matrix to chat about cool topics like Video Games, Pokémon, Computers and Tech so OSes like Windows, Mac, and Linux and whatever and I will keep your data safe unlike those big tech/mainstream folks that just want money. Yes we do both use Adblockers I use them on all of my browsers UBlock Origin is the best also there are mallious adverts out there and I don't give two fs about what Google wants on YouTube I still break their rules and use Adblockers anyways I'm not even signed into anything so they can't ban me they need to clean up their ad crap first even than I still wouldn't go without an adblocker I'm too used to it.
  6. Okay so first of all, please, for the love of god, use punctuation every so often. See how much easier that first sentence alone is to parse compared to the paragraph-length run-on sentences seen above? I've wanted to mention this for a while but couldn't find a good chance. Might as well cover it now, even if it's not really relevant to the rest of all this. Secondly, I feel like I left here knowing more about your personal feelings than the supposed issue at hand (and even then, I'm not entirely sure I correctly understood parts of what you were trying to say). That's just poor journalism and presentation - not saying that we're a news site or anything of the sort, of course - and circling back to the YouTube note, I can't help but find Britech's channel suspicious in its own way. An 8+ minute upload every single day (or close enough to it) on matters as complex as data security and PC usage reeks of poor research, or worse yet, clickbait to get that midroll ad money. But that's just speculation. Let's look back at the truth for a moment. The truth is that this not the first time Discord data has been scraped and potentially sold, and it will certainly not be the last. This is, however, not a Discord problem, but a specific symptom of a greater, internet-wide problem. I'm sorry to say, but no matter what hipster, non-mainstream OS, browser, and websites you use, if you've used the internet at all over the last couple of decades, your data has probably already been collected and/or sold. Doubly so if you live in the US. If you were truly deadset on ensuring your data is never scraped or sold, the only surefire way to do so would be to not only stop using the internet entirely, but find the respective avenues for every website you've ever visited to delete any and all data pertaining to yourself. Even our posts in this very thread present something to be collected and distributed (not that Torm would ever let this happen as long as he's got anything to say about it), probably to ad companies, which is fine since we both use adblocks. And even if I didn't, any company that wants to send ads laser-targeted to appeal to me specifically are welcome to try. As a closing note, I gotta say it's rather bold of you to say you'll take criticisms "as long as they are civilized and they are more in a debate type of format with some research to back it up", only to immediately turn around and say in the very next line, and I literally quote, Unlike the other forum, we're all more or less reasonable over here and wouldn't get offended by something as petty as one guy hating the mainstream. But even if we weren't, I kinda almost have to applaud anyone that goes "I'll take criticisms as long as they're civilized, now excuse me while I insinuate that some of you may need a mental check-in (not a very civilized thing to say)."
  7. HOT TAKE: Yes Yes I know I know I'm just poking the hornets nest but I want to speak out against Discord! I think Discord is overrated that everybody my age and some older people especially "Gamers" like I hate that ewww well I have an video here:

This video is not about the Data Scrapers on Discord its about other stuff about Discord but next time I will combined them into a thread.

  8. ...okay, color me interested...I'll be dropping into the Discord shortly
  9. Yesterday
  10. Yes now this is one of the biggest reasons why I will never use Discord because not only Discord but Data Scrappers are selling your DATA to someone who wants it this also includes your Private Discord Messages that is a yeah this is why I much prefer Open Source Platforms that are not evilly proprietary in nature such as Google Chrome and Discord lol laugh at me all you want but I don't care I'm right they are selling your Face, Voice, your messages in both rooms and DM Discord is not Private repeat with me Discord is not Private they are only in it for the money they are not not friend despite them making hilariously bad messages and trying to be your friend in a cooperate way. COME ON! Let's not pretend that Discord is flawless or prefect or anything I see anything that is popular and mainstream as a bane to my existence I will let the video do all the talking a couple of years ago I was not as Tech Savvy as I once was compared to toady where now I make better decisions and I use more FOSS Programs everyday with each passing day the more and more FOSS I become Steam though nothing beats that out and Valve is a pretty alright company in my books they are chill and pretty laxed compared to Opera with their Opera GX Bullshit that poisons the web and they shrill it like crazy, Amazon, Google, Twitter, Microsoft, Facebook, etc, but they even helped Linux even despite me still being on Windows 10 as I'm righting this but one day I will buy my own Computer and run a Linux Distro that I like on it just not Linux Mint cause I despise that Linux Distro maybe Despise is a little bit too strong but dislike its UI is not in my taste and the software in bundles is way too much and not my type. But anyways I ranted for way too long this 7 Minutes and 30 Seconds Video from Britec should explain everything and the biggest factors on why I hate Discord if you have any criticisms I wouldn't mind hearing them as long as they are civilized and they are more in a debate type of format with some research to back it up. Now a evil group called 404 Media now has your data via a tool called Sky Pet I don't necessarily Social Media Platforms or Discord I'm not a fan of them nor will I ever be but does that really offended you if it does than you need to mentally get yourself checked out by a doctor by Discord I'm never touching.
  11. Thessa arrived just in time. That is to say the boost from the time she had used was wearing off so had she not gotten there before then it would have taken more time, one way or another, to get to her destination. The building itself wasn't much to look at. Certainly not a place that lived up to the "Battle" part of its name. "Labs" was still fitting enough she supposed. Still if that was where Caesar had gone she could forgive the boring exterior. Her information must have been good after all given that there was a large amount of people gathered outside the place. Apparently they had found out where he was hiding as well. It was a bit weird they hadn't gone in yet but maybe they were waiting for something. She frowned a bit as she listened to Roy and Lachesis speak and explain the situation. Apparently they had tried to go in after all and just failed. From the sounds of it she would have to use some more of her power to get inside, maybe even before meeting Caesar, which she supposed had its upsides as well as downsides. After all lately it seemed that she was being challenged, as in people trying to fight her not that they were hard fights of course, more often than she liked. Having to waste her time like that was starting to be a bother. Perhaps if she made a show of it today that might shift a bit. Like an investment for the future. It seemed that Roy was about to head off. Before he did Thessa spoke up. "Honestly didn't think there would be other people here. I was just gonna go through the front door." "You're not the only one with a bone to pick against Caesar," Lachesis said, smiling a little. Sarah added, "Director Sekelsky's call was for two locations, the other one a bit more obvious as to the scale of the fight. There are any number of reasons why a cape might choose this one over the other." But Roy was firm in his conviction. "I'm not sending another team in the front door when there are so many other possible options. We just have to pick the right one." It didn't surprise her, really, that Roy would say that. He was cautious. Which was probably good for the many lesser heroes he had to manage. "Oh, there was a call. Guess that makes sense then." She looked over at Roy and giggled. "Oh, silly boy. I never said anything about a team." She began to walk in the direction of the main door. "I'll go myself." In response to her words Lachesis looked at the other two capes who had just arrived and back at Aeon but said nothing. Roy sighed. "Take a walkie talkie with you at least, so you don't miss another call. Not that you tend to listen. Sarah, do you have a spare?" Sarah hesitated. "They're all.. by the main entrance, actually." "Aight Roy Boy I'll pick one up on the way then. T B H I'm glad you guys are here, it's a long time coming that you actually see what I'm about." She waved and started picking up her pace. Lachesis waved back, Roy did not, as she headed for the door. She noticed a cape handing out walkie talkies on her way there and called out to toss her one. She could at least carry it with her, though it was likely to get broken at some point during combat anyway, to appease Roy. It wasn't as if she hated him, or at least she didn't think she did, and it WAS on her way anyway. She continued to the door. It was a revolving door, which she vaguely remembered enjoying using as a child, with one handicap door on either side. A sudden urge to see how fast she could make the door spin came over her but she decided against it and simply pushed her way through it and into the building. "Honey, I'm home!" She called out as she pushed on the door.

  16. Lana grit her teeth as she tried to push back against the strange wrapped zombie, only to find herself pushed back away from it and overpowered. Pulling her axe back, the girl saw the creature bring its arm up, about to swing at her only for Chris to appear and bring his blade down on the arm, forcing it to go off course. Before she could even react he was gone again, a visual that she had seen many times but still wasn't sure she could entirely get used to, before calling back to his now much further away voice. "Got it!" Thankfully, there was a now injured joint ripe for the hitting. Bringing up her axe, the girl took a swing to bury the blade into the monster's shoulder, nearly lopping the whole thing off as a result. Nearly. "Tsk, why are you all so tough, you're already dead aren't you?" The creature then brought down the hand it had blocked her with earlier down to strike her. Pulling her axe back, the girl stepped away for the swing to miss and the zombie to start walking her way. The room was pretty cramped as it was and there was more than just this monster to deal with here so she wanted to make sure it was dealt with quick. Stepping to the side of the injured arm, the girl took yet another swing, this time aimed as the monster's neck. With the blade managing to get a clean hit the zombie, Lana let out another frustrated grunt saying, "oh come on." She had proved that nothing short of total decapitation would stop it, as her axe failed to do just that. For that matter why was this thing's neck so tough anyway? As it brought its arm to swing at her again, the girl once again back stepped to avoid getting hit in the gut. She could've been reckless to try and kill it once and for all, but she was pretty sure that getting hit in the gut by this would be worse than anything the skeletons could do. However, she was running out of time as the skeleton to the north was now just one coffin away from them. "Alright..." Winding her axe back for yet another swing she shouted, "Ziun! Do that magic thing again!" If it was able to soften it up like it had the skeleton than that would be all she needed to kill it. And so when Ziun would fire his magic Lana would follow up with another swing.

  18. “Does being an aspiring professor mean you know a lot about caring for Pokemon? Is there any advice you could give me with Peat? I make sure to brush and oil his fur every night, and I help him pick his teeth and claws clean too." "Weeeell..." Not really... Now that he'd mentioned it, it was probably best to double-check Arthur. He'd just been recovered from a kidnapping, after all, and Bridget wouldn't forgive herself if she was so caught up in having him back that she overlooked some sort of injury on the Trapinch's part. Thus, as the team continued along Route 102, did Bridget pop open Arthur's poke ball and give the creature a good, thorough inspection. And, like the impudent toddler it could very well pass for when not playing, Arthur resisted her every step of the way. "What kinda stuff do you have to do for Artur?” "'E's real fussy about 'is care, actually," Bridet answered, as she tried to part-coax Arthur into opening his mouth, part-pry it open herself. "Won't let me do anyfin' for 'im, 'side from feedin' and playin' wiv 'im. C'mon Arfur, open up, I'm makin' sure you're not hurt!" After several defiant chirps and chitters, and no small amount of trying to wriggle out of Bridget's grip, the Trapinch finally relented, and opened his maw of a mouth for Bridget to investigate. As she confirmed there was nothing of concern inside his mouth, and continued checking the rest of his body for anything that could be a possible concern, she remarked "See what I mean? Best I can do is force 'im to take a bath when he's dirty, and that should be its own category of battle." As if to prove her point, the mere mention of the word "bath" elicited a growl of obvious protest from Arthur, and further attempts to escape Bridget's grasp. The Trapinch only settled down once it seemed to process Bridget was just talking about baths, and not saying it was time to take one. "Pokemon care isn't really somefin' I know much about though. And I 'aven't seen that species until gettin' to Korova, either. Sorry. Peat looks healfy 'n' happy though. I'm sure anyone who knows more about care stuff would say you're doin' a good job." The bog up ahead was, as bogs went, certainly a bog. Nate and Quinn went on ahead into the marshy wetness with varying degrees of effectiveness. Bridget followed suit, taking to the marsh with a sense of familiarity gained from some field research back in certain parts of Galar. Which isn't to say she was just at home in a marsh as on dry land, but between having put up with this sort of terrain before, and having the appropriate footwear for the job, it was safe to say Bridget was faring better than her peers right now. Of bigger concern to her was the statue in the middle of it all. People could be fickle creatures sometimes, but Bridget was always willing to trust a pokemon. And as she eyed the statue's surroundings, she couldn't help but notice almost all of them were avoiding the statue. Peat even refused to follow Nate right up to it, which was an immediate red flag to her. She wasn't an art history major, or a geologist, or anything else that could potentially pertain to identifying a statue, but if all the local wildlife was avoiding that thing, it couldn't be anything but bad news, as far as Bridget was concerned. As much as she wanted to get up close and inspect the statue for herself - really wanted to, more than usual - Bridget made a point to keep her distance, and to keep an eye on the other two in case some sort of timely intervention was needed. Plus, somebody had to make sure Arthur wouldn't get into trouble. Bridget looked down to Arthur... only to find that while she was keeping a watchful eye on Quinn & Nate, her pokemon had slipped away, and was now proudly trotting about in the bog. Gonna have to give him a bath later. Might as well make something of this! Not keeping her attention away from her teammates for too long at any point, Bridget followed her Trapinch companion through the water and mud, then pointed at the first pokemon to cross Arthur's path. A Solosis that was otherwise minding its own business. "Let's blow off some steam, Arfur! Give it a good Bite!" Arthur, for one, seemed all too happy to oblige, charging up to the stray Solosis as best it could, jaws wide open and ready to snap shut on its new quarry.
  19. Anima couldn’t help but feel her smile try to falter, for a moment, as she heard about this ‘ghost’. Of course, it was likely that they existed; but the meat of the story was… Something else. It was almost ominous sounding, the way one of their servants offered to ‘show them’ what happened, only to never be seen again. And then, for her parents to have told her she had to let go… Perhaps, then, was the Servant the ghost in the story, and not the grandfather? Or had the parents been responsible for the Servants’ grandfather’s death? Or, perhaps even more... had the servant been planning to kill Anneliese…?! Only the first concept seemed remotely… Interesting, from a supernatural perspective. The other two aspects, however… Anima was only taken from this state of mind, as Jacklyn arrived to greet them… And immediately mentioned the man in the mask. She frowned, for a moment; visibly, before nodding. “...Actually, I will… Definitely believe you,” Anima chuckled lightly, rubbing at the side of her neck. “His name was Brady, and he was weird as…” she trailed off, letting the others carry on the conversation for a moment as she set to softening her expression. It was then, of course, that Jacklyn suggested they take a photo of them with the ‘first major landmark’ of their journey… The weird, half-sunken statue. “Oh, er... Right, of course, I can take your photos!” Anima almost immediately jumped in, voice a bit more enthusiastic than it should have been, as long as she didn’t have to… "Oh, I'll take one for you guys if you want too!" “Huh?” Anima paused for a moment, before shaking her head slightly. “No, you, um, you don’t have to do that,” she murmured, grip on Confi tightening ever so slightly as she gave an apologetic smile. “I, er… Confi’s camera-shy,” she tried to excuse herself; even if it was a flimsy lie, it was one that couldn’t easily be contested… And if she didn’t want to admit, or didn’t want to voice that she wasn’t comfortable having her photo taken, she didn’t have to. Instead, without waiting for any further prompting, she knelt down and put Confi down. She then rummaged through her backpack for a moment, to pull out her PokeDex. It was scratched up, been repaired, had buttons replaced and had been bashed several times… All by people who had owned it before Anima, and before she had gotten it, but it was hers; and the camera, at least, functioned well enough to take some pictures of her friends. It stalled for a moment as she opened the camera, but after a second, she saw a reasonably clear picture come onto the screen, and set about lining it up to catch both Anneliese and Jacklyn… Even as their faces scrunched up. “Ah… Right, that thing...” she murmured, before spamming the picture button roughly ten times in quick succession. It was always best to go for quantity, and then pick out the best one to have printed, she had been told. After that moment of repeatedly taking photos, she quickly folded the PokeDex back closed, before stuffing it back in her backpack. “Well then--” she began, acutely aware of the pounding headache the statue was likely giving her friends, and hoping to alleviate that pain for them. “We should move on now, we, uh, we don’t want to burn too much daylight on this leg of our, er, adventure, after all!” she explained, already beginning to move on herself. Hopefully, if she was lucky, they’d follow without questioning the strangeness of the statue-- For as long as they didn’t question it, she didn’t have to question it.
  20. Adding a 5th of my own Lufia & the Fortress of Doom Which puts us at just 5 away now
  21. Quinn flinched the moment when Route One Oh Two became the smallest bit wet. It was not enough to keep from carrying on, but she kept thinking about it as it took further and further steps. Quinn was intimately familiar with mud, for reasons they rather kept to hirself. As Route One Oh Two became a full-on bog, Quinn spent more time looking for the safest places to step than zir stated goal of hunting for Pokémon. Cassiopeia had to help with a few of those jumps, putting all her effort into pulling upwards, giving Quinn just a few extra moments of airtime to navigate safely. It did not always work, and every piece of clothing below Quinn’s knee suffered the consequences, but there was still entertainment in the process, so Quinn did not mind. There were wild Pokémon to encounter, of course, and for those, Quinn did faer best to stay in place. Normandie did not seem to mind the environment fighting with her trademark ferocity, and Cassiopeia was unaffected by most terrain in general. The Pokémon that truly caught Quinn’s eye, however, was a Bearble standing stock still and facing away from her as it approached. Quinn recognized it immediately. “Peat? Where is your friend Nathaniel?” Quinn asked. But the Bearble did not respond, still looking ahead and growling under his breath. “Ahead, then? What is he doing without you?” Quinn made a move to continue, but Cassiopeia suddenly jerked its hand back, pulling the rest of the young ghost back with her. “Oh!” Quinn said, in more of shock than actual pain. “What is with you, you silly balloon?” That was when xe heard the whispers. In all likelihood, they had always been there since first stepping into the marsh, but it had taken breaking focus to notice them, and now they were impossible to ignore. The whispers in the back of Quinn’s mind were incomprehensible, but in the sort of way that promised comprehension if one only listened harder. Quinn tried again to approach the statue -- the whispers had to be coming from there, right? -- but Cassiopeia once again refused. “Do you want to go back into your Pokéball?” Quinn asked. That seemed to be an acceptable compromise for Cassiopeia, who practically opened her ball for Quinn as ze took it out. Approaching the statue alone made staying clean a practically impossible task, but Quinn no longer cared. The statue’s aura was awesome in the literal sense, with all the terrifying implications that that implied. It was no wonder that both Cassiopeia and Peat were not interested in such a place. Nathaniel was also there, hesitating just before placing his hand on the edifice. Quinn did likewise but overcame that final mental barrier to find out what the statue felt like. The statue was warm, but not in a way where the rock had absorbed sunlight all morning and was now radiating excess heat, nor was it warm because Quinn’s skin, as a ghost, was naturally cooler. No, it felt warm because it felt like it was alive, an impossibility in itself, but that was what it felt like. Even more, it felt like it was breathing, too. There was a pulse of energy in the statue. Its rhythm was slow, but it was there and it was consistent. Quinn could tap along with it if they didn’t feel compelled to keep his hand on the rock. “Material or Astral, I have never encountered anything like this,” Quinn said, Quinn’s voice soft. The voices in her head got louder, and faster too. And yet, Quinn still could not understand it. “What secrets do you hold?” Quinn mused. Still keeping faer hand touching the rock, Quinn began walking clockwise around the base, searching for more phenomena to experience -- an irregularity in the rock, perhaps, or a change in the statue’s beat.
  22. Nate and Peat rushed into the water of the marsh without hesitation. The water went up to Nate’s ankles, soaking into his sneakers and socks. The mud beneath clung to his shoes like it was reluctant to relinquish him. Nate bulled forward. Peat, beside him, cut through the water with far more grace than he usually had on land. He barked and smiled and raced past Nate. “Oh no ya don’t!” the trainer shouted, pulling a burst of speed he hadn’t had a moment before. Wild Pokémon scattered into cover as the two raced by. Nathan was not a perceptive man on his best days, but even he might have noticed how the amount of Pokémon dropped severely the closer they got to the statue, if he hadn’t been so distracted. “Ha! Caught ya!” Nate was winded when he caught up to Peat. “Not as fast as ya thought, are ya, bud--bud? Peat?” Peat had stopped running. His teeth were bared and he was staring ahead at the statue in the marsh. It was probably only a few yards in front of them now. It was much more interesting up close; towering over the area and chiseled with the skill of someone that had obviously been a master of their craft. Nate felt the sudden urge to touch the statue. Which wasn’t that weird. His Mom had told him a thousand times throughout his life that he didn’t need to touch everything when he went to the store, but he lived in the physical world. His senses were driven by touch. He hadn’t ever felt the need to touch a statue though. He could guess how they felt. Smooth. Cold. Wet, in the case of the statue before him. Still, his Pokémon had stopped for a reason. Peat seemed unwilling to move even a step closer. “Wait right there, bud,” Nate said, moving toward the statue. “I won’t be long. I just… I just need to look. To get my hands on it. What if it has something to do with that rare Pokémon we heard about?” Peat gave him a look that he interpreted to be uncomfortable, skeptical, but he barked again and took a fighting stance. Nate usually trusted Peat. He trusted the instincts of Pokémon more than he did his own. They were connected to the world in a way that humans could never hope to be; more than one trainer had lost their lives by not listening to the Pokémon around them. But something was calling him forward. A tugging in his thoughts that demanded he investigate. “I’ll be right back.” Nate jogged toward the statue.
  23. The Mute and The Quiet “One of the reasons I came back up is because I was hungry, and I still don’t know where the best places to eat are. I don’t have… a lot of money, but I do have enough, I think.” Natasha nodded in understanding and gave a soft smile. She put a finger to her temple and closed her eyes, giving an exaggerated but clear symbol for "I'm thinking". Then she opened her eyes and nodded. Melissa would notice her eyes seemed to be sparkling with a sudden childish excitement. Natasha then typed away on her watch, having to restart a few times because of her haste, before showing Melissa a message. "There is a newer place I have wanted to try. Will you go with me?" Natasha then led Melissa over to a taxi and, after some trouble, set the location for them. There was a short trip where Natasha was, as always, silent but she kept giving Melissa an occasional look as though trying to let her know it was okay to speak if she wanted. Eventually they reached their destination. A restaurant called "Eating For Two". As they approached it Natasha pointed out a sign near the door that seemed to establish some "rules" for the place. Customers must come in a least a pair Customers must each order at least one item No refund and no take home boxes Serious eaters only If Melissa looked towards Natasha she would see a determined, and excited, look on her face. She looked over to Melissa and gave a firm nod before stepping inside. The interior was softly lit but seemed rather cozy. All the tables had cushioned chairs in front of them and each of the tables were spaced out with plenty of room between them. They only saw one other duo there but they were at the far end and it was hard to make out what they were eating. Though even a brief glance could tell them that there was a lot of food between them. An employee approached them and smiled widely. "Ah, Natasha yes? I see you got someone to come with you this time, very good. Sit wherever you would like someone will be with you shortly." They then looked at Melissa and she could have sworn they had a doubtful expression before they turned and walked off towards what was presumably the kitchen. Fen and Kelsey One-Two Punch "Thank you for the match." Adonis seemed to be quite literally wobbling as he raised a fist up in the air towards Fen. "No problem....I went easy on you this time after all....next time I'll...I'll..." then he toppled over. A couple other boxers came into the ring and dragged him off towards a bench before approaching the ring again. Clearly wanting to use it next. Kelsey gestured at Fen to follow her out of the ring. "Glad you liked it! Yeah it's pretty fun to knock that guy around isn't it?" She paused. "Well I guess you mean in general, not that. But gotta admit he's a lot more fun to hit than a punching bag." She stretched a bit before looking around. "It's a pretty slow day here. Wasn't any events planned or anything so we sorta have the run of things. If you wanna get back into the ring in a bit, or try something else out, you just let me know okay?" Kelsey seemed to think something over then, "if you wanna leave too that's fine. Just make sure to hit the shower first....Not that I'm saying you smell or anything, you smell just fine! I, uh, assume that is." She gave an awkward laugh.
  24. Figuring out where you are now. Why you’re there. Why time is frozen, perhaps? And while you’re at it, regaining your lost memories, which may very well answer all the earlier questions. It’s a mystery story. Your main job is helping people who have found their way to this world, but it isn’t the goal. It is a means to an end.
