  1. Interlude Before boarding, Adonis was blindfolded and selected his choice of music: Alternative Western Rock. It was one of his guilty pleasures. As the helicopter lifted off, Adonis folded his arms gently over his chest and relaxed in his seat. The flight was smooth and quite enjoyable. He had requested to fly in on his own, but due to security measures, he understood the restrictions that required him to take a chartered flight. After some brief, unknown amount of time, Adonis' blindfold was removed and he found himself sitting beside a man of Israeli birth. He had been silent through the ride, but Adonis knew he was there. The sparks in this gentleman's brain and heart were very active. He was probably anxious. Adonis looked down at the Israeli man's lap to see that he was holding a briefcase now. Whatever was inside was why he was anxious. The guest scanned his fingerprint on the suitcase and it opened with a hiss. Inside of it, a piece of a stone tablet resided. With a sigh, the Israeli gentleman turned to Adonis. "This is a priceless treasure of our people," He explained solemnly. "It took almost three hundred years to find, and frankly, if it wasn't for Chaldea and its immense resources, there would be no way the Israel government would hand this over. Be very sure to take good care of it," He carefully picked up the stone tablet and handed it over to Adonis, closing the case shortly thereafter. Adonis nodded in understanding. In his hands, he was now holding an ancient artifact. A piece of history that was claimed proudly by the Israeli people. He knew all too well how important something like this was. As he examined the tablet, Adonis took note of the incomplete symbol etched into it. This was to be his catalyst. When the helicopters touched down at last, the chilly environment of Chaldea welcomed Adonis. The air was thin and the wind was sharp against his skin. It was a new environment for Adonis, and it was quite pleasing. He didn't visit cold places very often, but he much preferred them to the blistering heat that he was accustomed to. Waiting to greet Adonis and currently three unknown others, was Director Wodime. With wide arms and a warm smile, he belted out to his guests, "Welcome everyone, to Chaldea!" Adonis couldn't help but smile back. The Director's excitement was infectious. "Today marks the day where we take our first steps to protect the Human Order. Are you ready to take that journey with us?" Adonis remained silent but followed the Director and his guests inside. He took note of the people he was going to be working with: two young men and a young woman. He was clearly the oldest of the bunch, but that didn't bother him as much as it surprised him. "Now, we do have uniforms for you all, however, there is something I'm sure you all would rather do first..." Uniforms? He was used to having to play a diplomatic role and put on a suit and tie. But uniforms? He wasn't in high school anymore. He let the thought wade out of his mind. "After all, one of the most exciting parts of saving the world is meeting the hero you'll do it with, right?" the Director asked. He was of course referring to the catalysts that each person had been presented with. Still holding the stone tablet, Adonis looked ahead to a room that was sealed by two black doors. "From this moment on, your very lives will change. If any of you have any second thoughts, now is the time to back down." Back down? That was insulting. "Except you Aino, you have to stay." Aino? "Playing favorites sounds like not what a director should do," a young lady said with a huff. She was clearly Aino, and was much closer to the Director than anyone else in the room, judging by her quick response and banter with Director Wodime. The Director pushed opened the large, black doors and drew his guests to a kind of waiting room. A large window was seated in front of a chamber with a round table. Inside the waiting room, a handsome gentleman with white hair greeted Director Wodime and his guests. "Why don't you explain to our new members what exactly how they'll summon their Servants?" Wodime instructed of the white haired man. He introduced this man as Albert: Albert Einstein. Whimsical genius and a well known hero. "That room is our Summoning Chamber, and in it lies perhaps our most valuable artifact. It's a table of Arthurian fame, the Round Table, a place where heroes gather. Using it and your catalysts, we will call your servants into the world. Now, we have to do this one at a time, so what you'll do is walk into the room, and place your catalyst on the table. Then, you place your hand on the edges on the able, and let your magic flow into the the table, and then... call out!" He pumped a fist before continuing. "Be it a chant, a cry for help, or just a command, if you lay all your convictions into your words and reach out, a hero will answer you!" "Interesting," Adonis thought silently to himself. Before he could make a move, someone had already stepped up to the plate. "Aozaki Souta...I'll be first." The name came from one of the two young men who landed beside Adonis. He was... Japanese? His catalyst appeared to be an old book. He took the first steps into the summoning chamber and called out to his hero. When the bells and whistles of the winds stopped, Doctor Watson, Sherlock Holmes' very own best man, stood before Aozaki. Adonis was smiling again, and growing more excited by the moment. He quickly regained his composure as he considered the fact that he was called here to help protect the dominion of man, but he was excited to meet the heroes of old nonetheless. Next, Aino entered the summoning chamber. As she called forth her hero, Adonis' hair stood on edge. A magical lightning filled the chamber and light blinded the room. When Adonis blinked again, a swordsman had been presented to Aino. He introduced himself as Date Masamune, legendary samurai. "I'd like to summon my hero next," Adonis said, after Aino exited the chamber. He walked forward and entered the summoning chamber, closing the door behind him. Following Albert's instructions, he placed the stone tablet onto the center of the Arthurian table and placed his hands on its edges. He took a slow, deep breath, before calling out to his hero. "Come forth, hero of old. Heed my cry. In my time of need, I call upon you to protect this world," he commanded. As he called out to the Throne of Heroes, a gentle breeze began to pick up, gentling rustling through Adonis' hair. A small twister appeared in the center of the table, colored brown by the sand it carried. Then as quickly as it appeared, the twister vanished, leaving only a young man standing there. The man’s hair was a light grey, with light purple eyes that seemed to pierce into Adonis' soul. Despite the way the man held himself, like a man descended from royalty, his opened grey vest and black pants were very plain looking. As the two examined each other, the young man gave a gentle smile. “May God be with you. My name is Moses, a Ruler Class servant,” He introduced himself. “As long as you promise not to get lost in a desert for forty years, I think we’ll get along well,” He joked as he stepped off the table. “May I ask the name of my Master?” With a wide smile, Adonis extended a hand to Moses and shook it firmly. "Adonis Daiwe. I look forward to working with you, Moses." A ruler class servant would be a great compliment to Adonis' own magic.
  2. Hideyo wasn't particularly excited to be suddenly thrust into a battle against a pro-hero; let alone one of his own teachers. And to top it all off, he was going to be teaming up with multiple fellow students. He had arrived at this prestigious UA and from the moment he had crossed over their threshold, he was in combat. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to actually be learning, because he spent three quarters of his time fighting. But at the very least, it kept him on his toes, taught him to analyze each unique situation, and to be aware of his surroundings. Perhaps the upcoming battle was a way to teach teamwork? He had gotten lost in his own line of thinking as he pondered what a battle against Ruby Heart would be like. What were the parameters of this contest? Were the students expected to win or fail? If they failed, would they be thrown out? His stomach twisted into a knot, and Hideyo could feel himself spiraling. He had to shake off this feeling and maintain his smile. Hopefully one of his teammates would initiate discussion while he played a support role.
  3. Well Enough "I would love nothing more than to curse you, Olive. I would love nothing more than that...but alas, a curse from Taros would possibly do nothing for you, Watchdog of Hinder." Olivander remained silent but continued to listen. "As for what begrudges me, you know the answer to this...but allow me to elaborate." Olivander nodded as Kitt spoke his mind. "The manner in which this was done was the worse possible scenario, in my eyes. We had Numuu's Watchdog working on this and learning about this cult of his." "That's right," Olivander thought to himself. "Nuumu's dog intended to study while people continued to die." "I feel my words...my own words and attempts to halt the quelling of the situation made it worse. Was it by my attempt of help that caused a man to lose his life? I don't know, but I am plagued by that scenario...and it's slowly killing me." "Hmph," Olivander grunted. "...I went to see the young girl's home and saw first hand what this curse and plague can do...and it worried me, frightened me even. I can't speak now on why it did, but rest assured, it scared me more than anything else has ever..." "Is he referring to the girl who had the sword? I never paid much attention to her, but she must be important to him. Or, at least her situation is," Olivander thought. "...nevertheless, I can't say anything or curse you for it. You were simply acting upon your patron's will...albeit a bit of a quite insane will to steal a man's life, but again, you are my first meeting with Hinder and his will. With that, seeing you here, I assume your attempting to restore the water to Galatea? Regardless, after this, we need to pool our information...our time here...we've seemed to have solved almost nothing at first glance...we need to fix this place before we go onward." Olivander was mostly in agreement with Kitt. "Yes, I have been looking to restore Galatea's water. I like to think that my instructions to the townspeople will not go unheard. I'm attempting to make things right with Lord Dia. But we cannot force them to pray to her," Olivander mentioned. He looked over his shoulder into Dia's temple, then back to Kitt. "I still have many questions, but I don't believe they'll be answered today. Walk with me, Kitt," Olivander asked as he entered Lord Dia's temple. Approaching the inner sanctum, Olivander, taking the stones from his pockets, placed one of the Mother Pearls onto the empty pedestal, and placed the other where Lord Dia last appeared before him. He walked patiently back to the pedestal where he stood and talked to Kitt once more. "I strongly believe that Galatea is under attack," he said suddenly. "But no amount of inaction will change their fate. I believe we must do everything in our power now, before these people are swallowed whole. And to that end," Olivander said with a sigh. "I'm willing to work closely with you. And I'll allow you to take the lead. But," Olivander said as he folded his arms again. "Do not ask me to be patient, Kitt. People are dying. We should act with urgency."
  4. Bygones As Olivander reached the edge of Dia's temple, he paused. There was an additional set of footsteps behind him. Turning around he stared into Kitt's face. He was expecting the young Nuumu watchdog, but Kitt would suffice. The young man's face was riddled with concern. But Olivander wasn't sure if it was because of Simon's death or something more. He waited until Kitt caught up to him, just outside Dia's temple. "You seem begrudged, Kitt," Olivander said once his fellow watchdog was in earshot. "I can't help but wonder if my words and actions have stained your impression of me," he joked. Though, perhaps this wasn't the best time. "What seems to be the matter now?" Olivander folded his arms and braced his back against Dia's temple. He silently thought about everything that had happened the past few days in Galatea. He was still angry with the Religious Council. Perhaps the inaction that bothered him so much is what really led to Simon drawing his last breath. People were dying and they sat on their hands. Or was it Kitt's words that pushed Olivander to act? There were a number of factors to consider, but Simon was no longer one of them. He shook the thoughts from his mind and gave Kitt his full attention. "Don't be shy. You can curse me if you need to," Olivander said flatly.
  5. Curios-er and Curios-er-er As the crowd cleared, Olivander was approached. Hand in the air, clear as day, they held Lord Dia's pearl outstretched. “This? We were looking for somebody to give it back to but all the acolytes left when we arrived and I believe many have not returned to their station even now. We have no use for it.” Olivander paused before taking the stone from whomever this person was. Why were the acolytes gone? "Yes. This is what I was looking for. I believe it is precious to Lord Dia. But then, why do you have it?" he asked, accusingly. He sighed and placed the stone in his pocket. "I'm sorry. You came forward willingly so I shouldn't assume too much as to why the stone is in your possession. It does leave me concerned, but I will return it to Lord Dia at once." “I believe he will also be needing your stone at some point,” Gil said, addressing their partner. “It would be best to give it to him now, I imagine.” “If you say so then I will agree,” Rose said. They took their sapphire out and placed it on the ground, before looking up and addressing the dog in the middle of Temple Square. There was a second stone? This was the first that Olivander had heard of it. He took it as well and placed it in an adjacent pocket. "Thank you for returning the pearls." “We do not begrudge you for the death of Simon Weatherson. As they say, ‘From your lips to the gods’ ears,’ if you deemed it necessary, then what else can we do but respect that decision? We had a similar discussion with Nuumu’s watchdog. We have as little desire to see Galatea fall to drought as you do,” Rose continued. “Return water to Galatea and together we can wash this blood away.” Rose finished. Olivander nodded. "I have no desire to spill more blood on Galatea's land. I will speak Lord Dia and work with her to restore water to Galatea." He turned away from Gil and Rose and made for Dia's temple. He would return both stones, but he now had more questions than answers.
  6. Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma... Chameleon! Hideyo was admittedly out of the loop. He was focused on single things at a time, as it helped him to keep himself grounded in reality. Or, so he liked to believe. After returning to school, Hideyo occupied himself with pleasant thoughts about his disco ball. He wanted to repair it. He would reshape and stain the glass. And with the help of his quirk, he could bring it to life again. He would give that discoball a new purpose, in honor of the fallen sand soldiers who defended it. He stared out of the window of his class for most of the day, wondering intently about what happened at the beach. Dreadbolt would be their substitute teacher for some time, but Hideyo was far from concerned with that. Taking away from the eerie air, a new student had appeared. This caught Hideyo's eye. Well, that and Dreadbolt's booming voice as he introduced her. Her name was Hoshino Rika. Her quirk was Chameleon, and was pretty self-explanatory. But of all the quirks in the class, this one caught Hideyo's eye the most. The color pattern that appeared across her skin as it changed to reflect its surroundings was the most interesting thing he had ever seen! For some reason, it became his new focus. This is what his father was talking about when he explained Hideyo's last visit to the doctor. His focus being changed to one thing at a time and causing an intense interest in only that topic. It was one of the few things that he learned about himself and what it would be like to live with autism. As Hoshino Rika took her seat, Hideyo offered her a smile and a handshake. "Hi. I'm Hideyo," he said happily. "And I think your quirk is the coolest thing I've seen. Ever!" Uh-oh. He was about to start asking a lot of questions about it, wasn't he? He couldn't stop himself. She would quickly find him annoying. That's okay. He understood.

  12. Drought "Good people of Galatea," Olivander began. "I apologize for the many disturbances I've brought to you. I won't take up too much more of your time," he said as he looked around at the many faces of the townsfolk. "But you have yet another great crisis on your hands. Without water, you will die. Not some of you. Not a few of you. All of you," he explained. Olivander pointed toward the well in the distance as he continued. "Your well is dry, but the goddess Dia knows this. She has long been neglected and she receives few prayers. She alone is responsible for one of your most important resources in all of Galatea. You are all indebted to her. You are indebted to her when you take baths. You are indebted to her when it rains. You are indebted to her every time you thirst for a drink. The only way you, good people, will continue to survive here, or anywhere, is to give her the praise she so rightly deserves." He turned his attention to Dia's temple next. "Be sure to offer your praises to Lord Dia. Daily. For each day, you need her. Keep her temple well. And last, but certainly not least," Olivander said as he lowered his hands. "Among you is a thief. Someone has stolen from Lord Dia, and her holy pearl is missing. It is imperative that this stone is returned to her temple, lest more blood be spilled in Galatea. If you have any information regarding Lord Dia's pearl, please, come to me, that I might retrieve it." Olivander nodded. "Go in peace."
  13. I don't remember the last time I've been this busy. Between working, community runs, going to the gym, and looking after two little furbabies I'm all tangled up.

  14. I Love Democracy Olivander shrugged. "I think I understand what you would like of me," he answered. "If you have few visitors, that means you have even fewer prayers. As a goddess, I know how important that is to you. It's an implication of respect and gratitude for the things you provide to the people of the world. That being water, it is an absolute necessity for us humans. If the pearl has gone missing without anyone noticing, that means they haven't noticed you, Lord Dia," Olivander said, straightening himself up. "I will call the attention of the townsfolk to your temple and to your well, to have them offer you the prayers and thanks you so rightfully deserve. It is my belief that your temple should still be treated with respect. It is where you have chosen to manifest before me, and I know that this was a choice you did not make lightly. As such, I will also bring to the attention of the religious council that your temple be better kept, like the rest of the temples here. I realize I'm not your watchdog, and that I'm a brutish, offputting, bastard and much more. Regardless, I appreciate you allowing me into your temple, and furthermore, allowing me to assist you. Truly, it is an honor," he said with a proper bow, his eyes never leaving Dia. This was possibly one of the few tasks Olivander would take that wouldn't cause him to draw his dagger. It was a nice change of pace. "Thank you for your time, Lord Dia," he said before he stood up straight. He took his leave quietly and exited her temple, making his way to the town square where he stood once again over Simon's bloodstain. He would clean it up later himself. He motioned over to a guard and began barking orders. "You there. Gather your townsfolk once more. Galatea's problems are yet to be fixed. We must address your water crisis."

  18. Kingdom Come The battle was over. Many sand troops lie bloody and beaten on the ground. Many others were maimed and killed. But there could only be one victor today, in this war for the half-destroyed disco ball. Today, Kingdom 'King of Disco' had won. They maintained their control over the legendary artifact, and thwarted their rivals plans to steal the disco ball away. But at what cost? Their gates were now in dire need of repair. They lost many soldiers. Was this disco ball worth the price of their lives? Only time would tell. Or at least, time would tell on another occasion. There was suddenly a rush to return the students to the bus. Epicenter was barking at the top of her lungs, citing an emergency that was ending their beach trip early. Hideyo wasn't one to argue, but he didn't want to leave his disco ball behind. Removing it from the sand castle, he high-tailed it to the bus and didn't stick around to see what the fus was. Rather, he got on board and sat at the front of the bus, hugging the disco ball tightly as he waited to return to school. He was sure that the students would be filled on whatever happened, but he could wait.
