  1. "But ghosts certainly do exist." No they don't. Ghosts were the quintessential "thing that can't be explained by science". In a world of science and progress like the one she lived in, there was no place for ghosts. They were things that, if they existed, their existence would be scientifically understood or at least proven by now. The fact that science had yet to prove they were real was proof enough that they were in fact nothing more than superstition and campfire stories. All the same, the two girls started toward the kitchen. Although she didn't believe that it was something as out-there as a ghost behind these happenings, Natsumi remained on guard all the same, and generally tried to stay behind Kiyoko. Whatever had happened with that mysterious girl, it couldn't have been a good omen. And indeed, a good omen it was not. Natsumi could loosely hear... something, when she and Kiyoko made it to the kitchen, but she wasn't really sure what. And then she heard Kiyoko. "I do not know what your experience with ghosts are, but you should prepare yourself. I feel I must rescind my prior comment, as I think that is indeed what we are dealing with." "Hmm?" As Natsumi closed the distance between herself and her fellow signer, she continued "I'm telling you, things like ghosts... don't..." And then she saw that, as she peeked around the corner. Kind of fluffy. Four legs. Black fur. Ghostly aura around it. Glowing eyes. Exposed bone. Big, sharp fangs. Natsumi knew full well what that creature was. And the brief glance of it was enough for Natsumi to not only take several steps back, exiting the kitchen entirely and quietly shutting the door behind her, but to grab Kiyoko's hand and drag her along as well. Though, for Kiyoko, it was probably less "grabbing" and more "nearly crushing in the tighest grip Natsumi could manage". The simple act of not screaming at the sight of it was tough enough. Why? Why is that thing here? Who owns a pet wolf in the first place!? Even worse, who lets it end up in that sort of condition!? How did it get in here? Did it see me? Can it smell me? It's not coming after me, is it? "O-O-On second thought, I'm not hungry," she said, clearly a lie. "We should ahhh, uhmm, just, avoid that beast c-completely. And go back to our room. And lock the door. And perhaps... barricade ourselves in. Just in case. Yeah... fo-for your safety of course. I'm not scared." Also an obvious lie.
  2. A few other short flights had followed her first attempt, after recovering from flying face-first into a wall at high speeds on her first attempt. Before she tried anything fancy like turning or other tricks, Hibiki wanted to get used to the flight itself, so she'd taken shorter trips around the maze room to get a feel for having nothing but her wings and the air beneath her to hold her weight. Now that she was finally confident enough in her flying abilities, it was time to do this for real! As with her other attempts, Hibiki started in a run, eventually shifting into a sequence of short hops, before taking off with a grand leap forward, aided by a mighty beat of her wings. Now that she was in the air again, it was time to turn, and head for that key. Even having mapped out the entire room by now, her navigation was clumsy. It was less a turn and more suddenly and jarringly switching directions, as she leaned to the side and pushed herself that way with another powerful flap, before straightening herself out. This probably wasn't the most effective or smooth way to turn, but Hibiki could practice that later. Right now, passing her test was the most important thing. She made a beeline for the key dangling from the ceiling, grabbing it then starting downward. This was another part of flight she still had to practice. The landing. While she didn't faceplant into the floor like some other attempts, it wouldn't be right to say she stuck the landing. Hibiki landed on her feet rather shakily, but the momentum of her flight was still too much for her little body to cancel out on its own, resulting in the bat girl falling over, but catching herself on her hands and knees. The room lit back up suddenly, blinding her for a short moment as her eyes readjusted. The maze walls started going down, and at the back of the room, Hibiki could see a new door. Was that there before? Most notable was the keyhole on it. This key was probably for that door. Simple enough. Hibiki made her way to the door, unlocked it, and stepped through to find herself in yet another room. And she wasn't alone. "What the?!" The other's voice rung out. "A lame ass bat chick!?" "Eh? Lame?" That was just rude! Talk about a lousy first impression. "I am not! Bats are super cool, and I'm not boring either!" "Heh! Sure coulda fooled me!" The teen stuck out his tongue, brandishing his sharp teeth and long tongue. "My names Rock! Shout it out when you address me, or I ain't gonna bother talkin' to you!" Hibiki merely nodded in response. "So... are we supposed to work together?" "Precisely!" Ms. Hitotsume's sang through the speakers. "You'll be working as ragtag partners in the next stage of the test! There you'll be up against a formidable pair!" "Heh...how am I gonna get anything done with this chick dragging me down?!" "Hold it! Isn't it a bit early to think I'll drag you down? What's your Quirk do that's so amazing anyway?" "My quirk!?" He recoiled, only to put his hand out. "Check it!" His nails grew long enough to tap her shoulder, and then shrunk all the way back to him once more. "Pretty sweet, right?! ROCK!" ...that was it? Hibiki did have to admit it'd be nice to be able to grow out or shrink her nails on command, but... "I, uh... don't think you have to worry about me holding you back," she commented, looking to the side to avoid eye contact with this sad display. Maybe it was because she was used to the other quirks in her own class, but something about Rock's felt underwhelming. Well, as long as he could hold his own weight, it wouldn't be a problem. Flashing the boy a thumbs-up, Hibiki said "Just give it your best, Rock!"
  3. If you have any opinions on the upcoming 8th generation of pokemon games, what are they?
  4. What's your favorite band? What's your favorite wagon?
  5. ? ? With Banjo & Kazooie hitting Smash Ultimate recently, are you changing mains to the dynamic duo? If so, who (if anyone) did you main previously?
  6. This is actually pretty tough, since most heroic spirits I range from neutral to really liking. There are less than five that I actively dislike, and I should clarify that I'm factoring FGO gameplay into this list a bit, unlike my last one. #5 #4 #3 #2 #1
  7. you asked mine so I'll ask yours: what are your 5 least favorite heroic spirits in fate?

    Yui Rates Music 3.0

I know he does these songs purely as shitposts, but Nathan should probably just stick to his dance videos. 2/10, not even that catchy. Now Neil on the hand should never stop making music. Reminder that this same guy also did The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny and also Potter Puppet Pals, among other things. That said, dunno if this is his finest work. Still entertaining though, so here's a 6/10. OP's suggestion. I'm feeling a tad nostalgic now thanks to We Didn't Start the Fire being in that last song, so let's go back. Whoops. Too far back. 6/10, gotta start somewhere.
  9. This forum's software double-spaces it between paragraphs automatically. This was something I had to get used to when we moved here from a different site, but I don't really know anything about mobile browsers so I can't say I know how to help you if you're looking to do something like this The best I can offer you is knowledge that shift-enter on PC only takes it down a single line instead of the two this forum does on its own. If you know of a mobile equivalent to shift-enter (or just try shift-enter if mobile keyboards have both of those keys), try that out to see if it works. If you want to try playing with the source code a bit, it seems that <br> is a piece of code that gets put between single-line breaks, if what I did above is anything to go by. Try experimenting with that a bit perhaps, if mobile keyboards lack a shift key to shift-enter with or an equivalent command. Do be careful with source code though, since I'm not sure how badly you could break something with a weird and obscure mistake, even if it's just line breaks.
  10. Following up on the above, what is your favorite class of Servant?

  12. I should note that I'm not factoring FGO gameplay into any of these. #5 #4 #3 #2 #1

  14. can confirm. it was so bad I had to tell him to stop.
  15. Location: Trailsau (Team Alola, day 27) Inventory: Good Rod, Antidote, Kasib Berry She'd done some asking around in the time since the fight with Allie. All she needed was just a needle and some thread to work with after all; surely somebody in town had to have those. Finding someone wasn't easy, as it turned out, but with enough persistence, Nani did get her hands on the supplies to start repairs on her hood, just in time for some food to be ready to eat. Everyone was gathered together, just eating and being together, almost like some sort of grand-scale picnic. If it weren't for everything that had happened prior in this town, Nani would actually feel pretty reminded of home right now. It was certainly a more pleasant atmosphere, at least. She stayed near the edges of the crowd though, keeping her head low as she stitched and sewed away. She'd only briefly intruded into the rest of the crowd one time to grab some simple food to eat, and otherwise did her best to mind her own business. Rather than removing her costume entirely, of course, Nani had merely turned it around while it was still on her body, so that she could look at her hood up-close while she worked on it. At least her hair was sufficient cover for her face for now. Every so often, Nani stopped work on the hood to review the steps she'd just taken, or eat some of the meat she'd pulled aside for herself. The keen eye may have noted that her bite marks seemed pretty lopsided. It wasn't like she was sitting completely alone, of course. In fact, she'd been pretty deliberate about bringing one person aside with her in particular. The resident pikachu of the group. Every now and then, when she noticed Keanu wasn't looking in her direction, she'd peek up, using his face and ears as a point of reference to fix her hood with. The haphazard "pattern" of blue thread scattered across the gradually-repairing hood stood out from the usual yellow, but Nani didn't care about the color as long as it served its purpose. After another pause to take a bite of her food though, Nani seemed to stop entirely. "You saw, didn't you?" she asked, not wasting any time beating around the bush or coming up with anecdotes.
  16. Day 8, ?:00, Mall Points: 61 W/L Record: 3/3 Well, the encounter with a rabid fangirl had been brief, and rather strange. Did she really buy life-sized figures of the plants? That was kind of obsessive. Maybe she would do well to go see someone about that. But who was Aurora to judge? "Well now what? Do you all plan on heading back to your rooms? Oh, I suppose you still need to find yours don't you? I want to be there when you meet....him." "Well, I need to know where to sleep anyway. So let's get going and meet this mystery person." Come to think of it, it would be interesting to see Ross's reaction to meeting Gnash. He was a nice guy and very sweet, but his appearance could certainly be off-putting the first time somebody met him. Aurora remembered being pretty shocked to meet him at first. Hopefully that little ice sculpture she'd given him hadn't melted. She did try her best to make it special, but at the end of the day, Aurora was just a girl with ice powers. She wasn't a god. If it had melted, she could always make a new one though! As Aurora followed out of the mall, she made a mental note of how to get here. She wasn't sure if that fangirl would actually show up like Aurora had offered, but if she did, Aurora wanted to be able to lend a helping hand like she'd promised. "We should do some actual shopping here sometime, when we've all got more points," Aurora suggested. And perhaps they could bring that other girl along too! Her name was... Aria, right? But that would have to be some other day. Today, Aurora was tuckered out from all the fun she'd had out in town. She wanted to get back to her room, lie down, and have a nice, peaceful sleep.
  17. Location: Skrelp Harbor Poké: 700 "Wait, you switched out? Come on you gotta stick to your guns and fight! That's no way to battle." "I'm more of a pragmatic type," Kanon flatly answered. Kenta's geodude then began to roll forward, prompting Kanon to repeat her water gun order, and for Bubbles to repeat his attack. Probably because the geodude had been spinning, it seemed like some of the attack bounced off relatively harmlessly. And although the geodude did attack successfully, it too had its attack mitigated by the screen Ursula had provided. And once it was right in Bubbles's face? "Water Gun it again!" With the geodude right in front of bubbles, spinning though it may have been, there was little to stop the poliwag from spitting out a stream of water that hit the geodude in a weak spot. A critical hit! The geodude's rolling stopped, as it fell over, knocked clean out by the repeated water attacks. "Whoa, impossible, how'd that little thing get through Geodude's super defenses!" "You shouldn't underestimate little things." Holding up Bubbles's poke ball in case this fight was now over or about to turn unfavorable for the poliwag, Kanon continued "Is that geodude all you've got, or can you keep fighting?"

    Pokemon Atlas [R-16/IC]

"No idea what you're on about. Never heard the suits say anything about pairing people off." Come again? Ran shifted a glance to her pocket, where her poke ball rested. To think her own pokemon would mislead her like this. Best not to mention that. She probably seemed weird enough now, and she wasn't exactly eager to dig herself into an even deeper hole. "Buuuuuut, if you wanna stick with us for awhile, I don't mind at all." Well, that much was a relief. It wasn't quite in the way she'd first expected, but in the end, she did secure a partner to travel with. Two of them no less, it would seem! The boy with the cyndaquil held his fist out. She was supposed to bump her own fist with his, right? That was what she'd see on TV anyway. And so, Ran responded in term, reaching out with a fist of her own, but only barely tapping the boy's before retracting her hand. Minimal contact was great, and no contact at all was ideal, but there was no excuse to be rude to someone she'd just met. "You also going to challenge the gyms?” "You bet! Me and Ollie here are going all the way to the pokemon league, so you'd better watch out bro. Name's Trey by the way. Know what, how 'bout you and me have a battle. You can be our first win in Johto! You wanna come watch? Should be fun." Trey and Ollie. They were going to battle this other boy. Calling it fun was a bit of an understatement, even if Ran was only going to be spectating. She'd seen plenty of battles and contests on TV before, but up close in person was a different story. "I'd love to watch," she smiled, getting up to her feet. It was a lovely day outside, perfect for two aspiring trainers to duke it out, and for a third to watch. "Oh, my name is Ran. And this..." Ran reached into her pocket, fishing out a poke ball and letting loose the staryu inside. Unlike most of its kind, its colors were a bit different, most notable being the blue gem in the middle rather than the usual red. "This is Orion. We'd be more than happy to stick around with you throughout the Johto Region, if you'll have us." Even if a lot of it is because I'm not so sure about taking off on my own.
  19. Sandstorms and rickety carriages were something Sifu was used to. She always thought those experiences could prepare her for the great blue sea. The only other time she'd felt so wrong in her life was the time before deciding to become a hunter. Rain and rocking ships were different beasts entirely. As such, Sifu had spent much of her voyage on the deck itself. If everything she'd heard about Alcoria was true, there was no point trying to hide herself under decks or roofs. It was best to acclimate herself to where she'd be living. Her arms were numb, her legs had done a marvelous job at not keeping her upright as the ship rocked back and forth, and the rather basic iron switchaxe she'd been carrying around felt all the heavier. This was what she'd be hunting in? That was a challenge she'd accept any day. She'd have to be able to hunt anywhere in order to be the best, and something so opposite of her desert home was as fine a starting point as any. Because of her decision to stay above deck - something the sailor sent to collect her found to be pretty stupid - finding her wasn't tough, and she was the first to be met with a pro. This woman was her future. Sifu tried to mimic her stance, if only to keep herself on her feet for more than a few seconds at a time, but it simply wasn't working out. She'd have to figure out her own way. But for now, she had bigger things on her mind. "Prepare to jump!" "JUMP!?" "Jump now, if you want to survive! This is your entrance exam, newbies!" "Ah...so this is where it ends for me..." Tch. Sifu, for one, knew there was no way she'd be able to make that sort of jump. Especially not with the kind of distance that hunter had managed. Not on this rocking ship, not when her legs were cold from the wind and rain, and definitely not with her switchaxe weighing her down. But coming all this way, just to quit at the front door? "You're here to learn how to rhunt monsters, and you're afraid of a jump!?" Sifu readied her switchaxe. If she was facing him directly, it wouldn't be hard to believe Sifu was ready to lop this boy's head clean off his shoulders. As if she were chasing down a monster instead of a dock, Sifu charged forward, leaping off the ship as she roared "If you can't find a way, carve one yourself!" That was what it meant to be a human! And so, in that human spirit, Sifu swung her weapon forward, lodging it into a beam holding the dock up, dangling precariously from her switchaxe. And then she started climbing the weapon. Up, until she got a hand down on the dock's wooden surface, before pulling her switchaxe out of the beam and hoisting it up, followed by the rest of her body. She still didn't like the wind, rain, and hail against her body, but it was nice to be back on something that wasn't a boat. Sifu rolled over onto her back, stopping to catch her breath after the improvised feat of acrobatics. Once she got up to her feet, she walked the rest of the way, before nodding at the hunter, brushing some soaked hair out of her eyes. "Take it that counts as a pass?" "Don't get too cocky, runt." The Hunter blurted, not even giving the girl a glance. "You might be the best of this bunch, but that ain't sayin' much. This is where the real test begins." Runt? But Sifu was taller than those other three, right? People usually commented she was unusually tall for a woman, even. She tossed the thought aside. If this was where the real test started, Sifu was ready to tackle whatever it'd take.
  20. Octavia couldn't see duel spirits. That was the verdict Natsumi had come to following the shopping trip. She opted against filling the girl in on all the details, simply because it was easier for everyone to leave it at "it was the people" than going into detail on a pair of dragons accompanying them. In the time since returning to base though, Natsumi had put most of her attention into what would be her room. A room she shared with fellow signer Kiyoko. She seemed like a fairly normal girl, especially compared to some of the others that had come out of this project. That was good. After everything else that had happened today, some normalcy was greatly welcomed and appreciated. So naturally, it couldn't last. All she'd wanted was to grab a late-night snack, because she was hungry and needed something to tide her over until she woke up tomorrow morning. It was as she opened the door however, that she was met with the sight of a pale girl in a frilly black dress. She hadn't seen this girl before... new staff, maybe? She walked past the bedroom door without so much as acknowledging Natsumi, which was strange enough with the door to her room marking the end of the hall, before turning and walking through the wall. That wasn't supposed to happen. People couldn't do that. And whatever was going on, Natsumi wasn't exactly eager to toy with... whatever this was. Not alone, anyway. "I'm going to the kitchen. Do you mind tagging along?" She hesitated, before pointing out into the hall, where the girl had turned and walked through the wall. "Also... you saw that too? Right?" Kiyoko nodded her head, looking at the wall saying, "yes." Seeming more curious than anything else, the girl walked over to it. Placing her hand against the wall, looking it up and down, the girl merely said. "How strange." With that, she attempted to walk forward, only to crash into the wall and recoil back. Putting a hand to her chin with a pensive look on her face, she looked to her roommate. "How do you think they did it?" Natsumi felt around on the wall too, trying to find a hidden button, a strange lever... anything to explain what she'd just witnessed. "Not sure. Doesn't seem like there's a hidden door here. It could be that we're dealing with a ghost..." Natsumi couldn't help but laugh aloud at that idea. "But everyone knows ghosts don't exist!" Plenty of things existed in this great big world. From the mundane to the magnificent, the world was ultimately full of wonders, plenty of which Natsumi was sure she couldn't even imagine. But ghosts weren't among those things. "The kitchen's this way," she commented, turning and starting down the hall. "Let's try not to waste any time getting there and back."
