  3. Thessa was a patient woman. Many people would expect her to refuse to wait for anything but that couldn't be farther from the truth. When you could live as long as she could there wasn't much she had to rush for. But she had been intent on bringing Caesar down for a while now. She had decided it back in the church when his goons had fought with her. Yet she was still here, in one of the most bothersome places in the city, unable to go and let loose on him like she wanted. It was starting to get a bit frustrating. She continued to wander the park, watching as everyone scurried about doing some inane task or other, and debated just walking out and looking for Caesar herself. "Hey! Thessa!” The voice brought her back to the moment and she looked over to see one of the Fates coming over to her. Thessa turned towards her, expression not hiding how antsy she felt at the moment, and noticed there was another person nearby. “Hey, I know we keep just introducing you to people but this one’s pretty cool. Remember that prison break we did a little bit back? Belladonna here is the result of that. Was a pretty rad story tee bee aitch, but she’ll have to tell you about that.” "Oh yeah, think that rings a bell. Might be mixing some of em up but I gotchu." There was a couple she could think of off-hand and the name sounded somewhat familiar but, looking at the woman Clotho was introducing, she didn't think she had seen her before at least. "No worries, I've met a lotta people already and its always good to meet more. Even if some of them kinda suck." She looked Belladonna up and down. "You don't suck, right?" The name and the vibe screamed plant girl. Funny given one of the things she had taken a note of on her trip around the Shimmer. Maybe this girl could shake some things up after all. "Guess if you're with those girls you probably have some potential huh?" She smiled at Clotho. "They seem to be good at getting more fun people together then the others at least." "Anyway like she said my name is Thessa. I was just thinking about moving on but guess I can stick around a bit. Don't wanna be rude to a new face ya know? So, Belladonna, what do you think about the city?"
  4. "But that Monster is far above our current rank; the rest of us would be wiped out in an instant," "M-Maybe we should listen to the train conductor...she's making good points here!" Sabrina felt herself deflate as two of them seemed to be very against the idea of fighting it. One of them even went so far as to try and respond in kind to Sabrina's way of speaking. Which, honestly, mostly served to highlight that it was a bit of a silly thing to say. It felt like when a parent tried to use slang words and you realized how dumb they sounded. "but as far as I know, they're not creatures to be denied. I'd rather not fight that thing, of course, but if that power of yours can't be held back, I'm here to back you up." Sabrina blushed. She was torn. Abby was being so supportive and yet it was clear she didn't actually want to do this. That combined with the other two being even more clear about thinking this was a bad idea caused Sabrina to back down from it. At least for now. But after she had said all that how could she possibly back down just like that? Marshall had given her an out, sure, but that felt a little.... Sabrina cleared her throat. "Ahem, I see. I suppose if that is the case I will, uh, just have to strengthen the seals binding my dark power." She put a hand to her covered eye. "And, uh, seal it away until we next get a chance to bring down this beast." She was silent for a bit and then. "So yeah I'm gonna go over here now." and scurried off to the side to hide her blushing face. "I-I will just be here, sealing and stuff, if you need me!" she called back without looking at the group. Smooth.
  5. Fits pretty dang well, was fun, the bit in the middle wasn't well paced imo, but, 8/10
  6. History is amazing Doesn't hit the same, neat idea, 6/10
  7. While one of the zombies had wandered off, chasing the illusion Ziun conjured, the other one was still in sight. Unlike the previous zombie this one hadn't seemed to notice them yet. Having been simply milling about around a few gravestones. Eventually it happened to look Ziun's way and, upon seeing him, let out a groan and lurched in his direction. While they were out of range of the zombie the other three would suddenly experience something unnerving near them. Estelliese, Chris, and Lana, though stronger for Estelle, would feel a sudden wave of fear wash over them. Even the farthest from the source, Lana, would feel unsettled. Were they to look towards the left-hand side Estelle and Chris would see the creature they had briefly glimpsed before. Humanoid in size and shape but with grey skin and a distorted face, complete with an elongated mouth that hung open, the creature looked even less natural than the undead they had faced thus far. And it was making its way towards them at a steady pace. Not as determined as the skeletons but not as shambling as the zombies this undead seemed to simply be leisurely walking towards them. Once it got nearer it seemed to attempt to lock eyes with Estelle.
  8. That meant two against one cafe in french “I’m ready.” "Starting to think there's more I can teach you instead of Yu-Gi-Oh..." Fiona said, then shrugged. "Well, let's get started." Fiona took out her watch and a small projection appeared on the table. It was a grid which stretched out and covered all of their fields of play, indicating where the cards could be set. When Fen put down her Monster a tiny holographic image of it appeared above the card. It wasn't quite as detailed as the larger ones but it still looked to move a bit on top the card. "What a freaky thing..." Fiona muttered, using the Spike Brother's favorite word as naturally as she breathed. "Well, it does seem to be pretty strong though. I guess I should play it safe hm?" She smiled at Fen as she set down a Monster face-down in defense position. "And why don't I put something here too, just in case." She also put down a card in the spell/trap zone. "That'll be all for me, let's see what you've got then, Melissa." For a brief moment there seemed to be a glint in the girl's eyes as she looked towards her opponent. Unusually Dark Room When Trevor first went into the room, shutting the door behind him, he would find nothing different about it. It, as before, was empty. So empty that it was hard to even tell what the room was there for. There were lights and four walls. A floor and ceiling too. But beyond that there wasn't anything to see. No electronics, no outlets, no furnishing, nothing at all. As if it was a mere storage room that had nothing to store. When he turned off the lights everything vanished from sight. Not one bit of light made its way into the room. All around him all he could see was that he could not see. Nothing else felt different, at least at first, but it was still strange to be left in total darkness. And then there was something. A subtle shift that could entirely have been missed had one not been focusing. The floor felt different. More uneven. As though the flooring was gone. And then there were the words. He didn't hear them. Not with his ears at least. Instead he heard them in his head in the voice that he heard when he read something to himself. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
  9. “What?” Brian said. “No, we went to Taco Bell like normal people.” "Y-yeah! We - we uh, didn't take any, uh, any of your food or anything." "Oh." Shiki said. They stopped walking for a moment and turned around. "That was for you. We did not know you would need permission. We thought you would be drawn to the food if you were hungry. We will keep this in mind in the future." With that they continued on towards the van. Once at the school they paused and looked at it. "Such an odd place. Many young people trapped inside and forced to learn." A small shake of the head. "Forced learning is no learning at all." Then to the others, "we will take you home if you wish. Or wherever you need to go. There are no jobs open right now so you may do as you please until something comes up." Shiki seemed to think about something then said, "I hear that people do things together to forge bonds. Maybe the two of you would want do that."
  10. Team JAA/AJA/AAJ "oh that? Rus and I don't need any tricks or planning like that. We're fellow adventurers and teammates after all! And when we work together there's no battle we can't win, right Rus!?" Fuyumi stared at Jacklyn for a while, not reacting much to Rus's antics, just continuing to look at Jacklyn directly. Finally she spoke up. "Ridiculous." was her response. Then she turned towards her companions and followed it with, "keep your secrets then." Before they left Kenta looked back once more "Uh, hey, probably go check on that other one eh? She kinda ran off in a hurry ya know." And then they were gone. Anneliese turned to Jacklyn. "You did wonderfully! I don't think I could have won if Leopold wasn't so strong. You said something about working together yes? That's incredible, you haven't even had Rus for long! I should learn from your example." Leopold looked horrified at this statement and quickly looked towards Rus as if asking the Pokemon to help talk Anneliese out of it. "But Kenta was right, we should go find Anima. I bet she'll want to know how it went!" Team BQN As the group looked for the nearest Pokemon ranger they ended up asking several of the other trainers for where they could find one. And all of them pointed them in the same direction. Heading over to the area indicated, with the Rattata in tow, they eventually saw something unexpected. A person dressed in a black outfit, complete with a helmet with a visor and a strange decoration on the forehead, and cape was standing just off the pathway. When seeing the group the man struck a pose, both arms to the side and one leg raised. "Hello adventurers, tis I, Pokemon Ranger Black! Do you have a villain in need of defeating? With my kick of justice I will surely strike them down!" His voice was muffled and, as he held his pose, he looked rather wobbly. Moments later someone else, dressed much more like one would expect when thinking of a Pokemon Ranger, hurried over. "There you are, I thought we told you to stop messing around here. You're confusing everyone and causing a scene, now go on, shoo, shoo!" "Alas, adventurers, justice will have to wait for another time!" He called before running off. The actual ranger let out a sigh and then turned to the group. "Sorry about that, is there something you need? Something that needs someone that ACTUALLY can do something to help?"
  11. "H-heh how would I even know?" "Ya know what, I'll give you that...honestly we all might know stuff we don't know we know, you know?" Clobber thought about that a moment and shook his head. Or rather shook most of his body along with his head. It's not like the games where you just drop down a menu and can see what you're working with. Imagine if they all had some crazy super move that none of them knew how to use. Clobber heard Noibat muttering but decided to pretend he didn't hear anything. She was right through, what an absolute drag to get sent to another world only for that world to be ending. "Y-Yeah, if you don't mind...I'd like one!" "Oh f...rick, where'd you hop out of jeezus." Clobber was startled by the Froakie's response. Not in the least because he hadn't actually remembered there was a Froakie with them. Had he even done anything up to this point? Clobber was struggling to remember. Whatever the case Clobber had offered and they had taken the offer so he figured he should actually do what he said. "Aight then, one cracked coconut coming right up..." Clobber said, part of him pleased he was able to do something as he split another coconut with ease. --- Eventually they were all gathered around Jirachi, "Like friggin kindergartners listen to the teacher do story time." They proceeded to tell them about their grand plan to fix everything. Or not. It didn't sound like Jirachi knew all that much more about the how than any of them. They did bust out some shiny badges that apparently could teleport them which sounded very video-gamey. "Of course it did, this was a video game, dumbass." He muttered to himself. "So, I would like you all to take part in an experiment with me. Please, everybody, take a badge and stand still. I will soon teleport us all to the center of the island." "Hold on just like that, we're just gonna, what....go right into it and hope for the best? You crazy or something?" He looked around at the others, in part hoping they agreed with his outburst but also hoping they just ignored it. The badges were weird. They seemed more like magnets than badges. Flesh magnets. Which was a really gross thought. "More things to stick to me, great." He said as he reluctantly plopped it onto the nearest equivalent he could guess being his chest. And now he got to wait around until he got zapped right into danger. "Guess whenever you wanna do this then."
  12. "So uh, we don't have a guide through the forest right now since Damien is uh, well, missing. So well uh, Cym and Pan - the elves, that is - they're going to come with us. To uh, help. And I guess well, we can help them too. Uh, yeah." Madelyn seemed pretty grumpy about the whole situation. "Oh, sure, why not. Sounds like a party, hmph." She crossed her arms and turned away from them, refusing to look even when the rest of the group came out. Keres was startled when Lindow came running out, as shown by her flat "Ah." upon his arrival. Cym and Pan both turned down Reinaan's offer of a ride. "We've been walking all this time, plus I like using my legs more than anyone else's!" Cym said. "While I'd like to stop walking, it doesn't feel right to climb on a stranger and let her carry me." was Pan's reply. With that settled it seemed to be about time for the group to set off. The day had gotten late but, as Pan explained, they would have to move off the beaten path, or as beaten a path as this forest got, before night came if they wanted to find the Lycans. On the way Keres seemed to be wanting to say something but hesitating every time. Finally, eventually, she spoke up to Lindow. "Those...I want to see them." She indicated the things he had taken from the tomb. Madelyn, too, despite having been intentionally ignoring everyone out of spite, couldn't help but be curious about the artifacts. Particularly because they must have been of some value if they were in a place like this, buried deep in the elven woods. "It's magic." Keres said. She seemed to realize after a bit that this would be obvious. "Ah. It, um. It's not magic I know a lot about..." She glanced to Madelyn, who was frowning, showing it wasn't her expertise, then over at the elves who seemed to be talking among themselves, totally uninterested in the items. "This one, the edge...this part." she pointed at the part of the sword that would be called the blade were it made of metal. "This one, the tip. Most of the magic concentrated there. Whatever they do, it requires contact to work." She realized that she had been talking at the items whole time, then, when she glanced up at Lindow, hurriedly shoved them back at him to take. "Um. That's all. Right now, at least." The two elves seemed to have finished talking about whatever it was and Cym spoke. "Hey so pretty soon we can set up a camp. Make sure to make it obvious, we want them to notice us after all, dunno if they're around here but if they are they'll come to us." "Also, that man you talked about. What does he look like?" Pan asked bluntly. "Cause ya know, might as well keep an eye out right? More the merrier, ahaha." Cym said, almost too hastily.
  13. "Good work Alois!" Penelope said. She couldn't have been sure if that would work but she was glad to see it had. The woman was struggling but, unlike the maid, Penelope knew Alois was strong. She stepped a bit closer, though not too close, and looked down on the woman. "So this is the part I ask who you're working with, you refuse, I threaten, you don't believe me, then I have to do something drastic to get you to believe me. But you don't seem that dumb, think we could maybe skip to the part you tell me what I want?" "Ha!" the maid snorted. "Ye've got some wit on you, girl. I like that. But sorry to say, I ain't have much to tell. Just doin' my job, s'all." "What job is that? I know maids can be trained for more than just cleaning but this seems a bit excessive, unless there's another job involved." "A job's a job. I'm hired t'take care of milord Gaston, and that's what I'm doing." "Doing a great job at that, he's probably already been caught. By some people a lot less nicer than me at that. They're probably getting all sorts from him as we speak; so how about you tell us anything you can before he can sell you out?" The maid laughed. "Nice one. Guessin' ya took Interrogation 101." She spat at Penelope's feet. "But them tricks ain't workin' on me. Mostly cuz I ain't have nothin' to say. Not like they say aught to us down on the lower rungs of society. But a pretty princess like you wouldn't know nuffin about that, huh?" Why yes, she had read that in a book, as all things, which is why she was a bit cross it didn't quite work. It did give her a small nugget of information though so she would take that. Every little bit helped. "No, I suppose I wouldn't. I could tell you about my time sneaking out of the castle but you don't really care about that. However, I do know one thing. I know nobles when I see them and Gaston is certainly not. Which means someone important enough to not 'say aught' to you must be behind this. And I'm certain you at least know who that is." "Pah! A noble's a noble to us on the bottom," the maid responded airily. "Don't matter to us how high up they are. They're all the same. Mayhap to you, differences like that mean summat, but to meself, e's my lord and master and payin' me coin. 'Tis all that matters." Penelope could tell that wasn't the full truth. Maybe the sentiment behind it but she was certain this woman, talented and confident as she seemed to be, had someone of at least moderate power behind her. With a sigh she looked at Alois and said, "I'm sorry, but I think your clothing might get messy soon seeing as she's being so stubborn." "...Gunther? Do you? And Raki, do you know enough about the body of a Wyvern?" "Mm." Gunther didn't reply right away. He was no expert, that was for sure, and he didn't want to give off that impression. If they relied on his knowledge alone it could be dangerous. However there wasn't time to find those who would be better suited so he would have to do what he could. "Yes, I have some idea. We'll have to be careful but I think I can be of assistance in this." "I think she's right. Of anyone here, she's probably the one with the best chances of getting the wyvern to cooperate. I know wyverns, but I've never done this kind of operation myself." Gunther nodded in agreement. He wasn't sure yet what kind of person this boy was but it seemed that together they could figure something out. Of course the most important one here was Citron herself. She would be taking most of it on herself. Which meant he absolutely must remain calm and confident. Speaking directly to Citron he said, "It should all go well as long as we take this carefully. You think you're ready to do this?" He glanced over at Peaches. "If you aren't up for it I can try." He gave Citron a smile. "Might get bit in the process but even if I can't say I'm the strongest knight I'm still plenty tough." Cora winced as she saw the arrow hit the horse. It worked, which was what was important, but it did feel a bit bad having to hurt the animal to get the job done. She stayed atop her own horse for a moment as she wasn't quite sure if Gaston's mount would change course and come running them down. But, seeing Link make his move, Cora realized she couldn't stay up there. "Someone keep an eye on that horse!" she gestured towards Gaston's rampaging horse as she got off her own. Cora hurried over between Link and Gaston, standing sideways so she could keep an eye on both. "Hold on a mite there, 'fore things get messy." She glanced at the mud. "Messier. Now I don't know what sorta bad things he done but we gotta lock him up first." She'd glance towards Gaston, "always thought you were an odd duck but didn't think ye'd break any laws, what did ya do to get this guy so riled?" Gaston wept, holding out his arm, which was bent at an awkward angle. "Feast your eyelids on me! I, Lord Pylauses Gaston, have been most ignominably treated by this murderifous buffoon." He pointed with a finger from his good arm. "Even presently, he must be strategizing to murderize me. It must be due to the compassionate clemency of the Dragon that you are here now. Please, restrain this savagious savage!" "Huh?" Cora still couldn't keep up with the things Gaston said. "Now, I don't quite get what yer getting at but, I reckon if this guy got rough with you there musta been something that started it. So how bout you both come on back with me so we can sort this out? Far as I'm concerned both of ya got some explaining to do." Gaston shook his head. "Non, non, there has been a most egregious aberration! I am the gudgeon! He is the criminality! Arrestify him!" He continued pointing at Link. "Gaston dagnabit talk like a normal person fer once why don't ya?" Cora made sure to keep an eye on both of them as she got closer to Gaston. "Just come with us and there's not much he can do to ya, ye can explain everything once we get back." "Nay! Nevermore! You shall never take me in viability!" Gaston fled from the pair, running toward his horse. "Oi, you right fool stop that!" Cora said, and took hold of her sword's grip before running as well, attempting to cut Gaston off.
