  6. Rona couldn't help but glare at the soldiers as they approached. Instinctively she felt a need to fight them. In the back of her mind she could hear her father giving the orders to take the city and her hand twitched. She had decided to walk alongside Cormag instead of ride him this time. To make sure he was recovered entirely. And the wyvern looked over at her. Seemingly noticing her tension he let out a snarl at the guards as they passed by. Rona, realizing it would cause problems if Cormag bit him, placed a hand on the side of his face to calm the beast. The girl noticed the hint of fear on the guard's face and, oddly, she felt better about herself. Yes, her enemy fearing her was much better than anger. She closed her eyes tight and tried to correct her thinking. They weren't enemies. They were just soldiers. She was a mercenary. They weren't on opposite sides anymore. Still she didn't open her eyes until they were clear of the soldiers and when she did the first thing she saw were people staring in wonder at Cormag. The wyvern seemed a bit uncomfortable with all the attention and tried lowering his head slightly as though that would make him less noticeable. The city was actually rather large and bustling. She had known it would be but knowing it and seeing it were two very different things. She felt an odd sense of relief in knowing that it would be easy to get lost among the crowd here, Cormag notwithstanding, if she really had to. "Well, um...we're here." "Mm." Rona responded. That's right. Their job was nearly over. She took a deep breath to settle before speaking, wanting to sound confident. "Yes, as we promised, nothing can stand in our way of completing a mission. I suppose we'll take you to wherever you're heading and then we'll be on our way." "Well, actually..." Alexis was relieved to note the color of the armor. Though there still seemed to be some problem nonetheless. It seemed that Jouran panic was spreading and growing more and more. Alexis was beginning to realize what that would mean for the group as a whole. She wondered if the others realized it as well. The girl was impressed at how easily Anne had convinced the soldiers and she smiled at Anne. "Wow, way to go, quite the negotiator indeed. Maybe I should be careful when I buy something from ya." She then looked over to Raynor. "She's quite the catch isn't she? Might want to act fast before you lose your chance." She hadn't quite given up on the idea of a mercenary and merchant pairing and couldn't help but to throw a last ditch effort fuel onto the fire. Whatever the case Alexis was rather excited at being in the city. It wasn't quite as big as home, and the buildings weren't as impressive, but there were just so many shops everywhere she looked. So many things she could spend money on if she felt like it. Which, being honest, she kind of wanted to. Not something practical like the weapons Anne had but something...more interesting. While pondering what she might want to search for she heard Edda, and the response that followed. "Yes, as we promised, nothing can stand in our way of completing a mission. I suppose we'll take you to wherever you're heading and then we'll be on our way." So it seems that at least some of them didn't realize it yet. She hated to be the one to bring it up but... "Well, actually...it's not so simple. Dunno if you have thought much about it but given the, er, events before getting here you might not want to stick around for long. Some of you probably could set out and stay out of trouble but I kind of doubt you'd go for that." She had seen how many of them seemed to be the types to stick together. She doubted most of them would stay in the country even if they would be able to avoid getting arrested. Simply for the fact that some in their group it would be impossible for at this point.
  7. "This bat's a rental so I don't have a lot of time to rescue damsels in distress." Gabby stared at the girl, shock on her face, as her eyes slowly moved to the bat. Then she looked over quickly at the thing that was grabbing for her earlier. She heard it let out a groan and stir. Which prompted her to let out a yelp and jump away. Looking at the girl she stammered out a "T-thank you." Though she seemed to be stuck in place. Which prompted the other girl to grab Gabby by the arm and pull her along with and out of the alley. "Where, um, where are we going?" Gabby said. Though as she did she heard two buzzing noises from her phone. Shakily checking it she let out a gasp. From: Melissa To: Gabriela I’m safe but I’m worried about you. Are you okay? Melissa, of course! How could she forget? What if she's trapped somewhere? But she said she's safe. But where was she that was safe? "H-hold on." She told her new companion. Then she typed out a message. Fine. Girl with bat saved me. Where are you? We can head there now. Right after she got another message. This time in the group chat thing. She had to scroll through multiple messages that she had been ignoring, unsure how all this group chatting thing worked, and found the recent message from Hitomu. What...was that? Evil twins? That wasn't anything like she experienced. She quickly typed out a Beware of man in labcoat. before looking up at the girl again. "Can we go find my...friend?" She asked hesitantly. What if this was an evil twin of someone and she didn't know it? But she had saved her. Then again she had thought that other guy was helping her too. But she knew she could trust Melissa. Even Melissa's evil twin would be bound to be a good person.
  8. Poor Charlotte. I only really like Micaiah for that one line to Sothe. She's fine otherwise. Charlotte I think it's cool when characters put up a front but aren't bad people. She's trying to look out for her family and that's pretty neat. Plus it's fun seeing her let loose as supports continue. Probably one of the few Fates characters I felt were done well with supports.
  9. Much western Hm, it kinda fell off for me partway through, 7/10
  10. I'm honestly torn. I like them both. I haven't seen all I could of Dimitri yet so that's where my main struggle is. Maribelle is actually quite interesting but Dimitri has so much to him...it's tough.
  11. I actually like what I saw of Echidna but Mae is Bae. And she has Big Hurty Lightning. Also something I didn't realize was she has fluff in her boots and it looks super comfy.
  12. I think I've heard this before 8.5/10
  13. Pretty cool but didn't really do it for me 7/10 It sounds...well, epic, but feels a little hollow 7.5/10
  14. As Sergei thought the rat's bite didn't cause him much harm. Though he would bleed and the rat's teeth managed to piece his flesh. Chris's stab went into the side of the rat and it let out a squeal as Sergei pushed it to the side. The wounded creature rolled into the wall and hissed at the two of them. It looked to be moving slower from the wound but it would dive towards Chris nonetheless, going to bite the boy on his ankle. Lana's attack was much heavier and had more strength behind it than Chris's stab. And, while the attack wasn't the most precise, the weight of the weapon along caused it to bury deep into the rat's back. It didn't get enough time to even make a noise before it tensed up and collapsed. Though this also meant that Lana would have to work to pull the weapon from the beast. Which put her in a bit of a troubling spot as the two rats farther along the tunnel were soon not that far off at all. Both of them were approaching fast and heading for the furthest of the group. Which of course was Lana herself.
  15. Dinah gave Belle a strange look. "How can you be too tired to battle? Did you get all your Pokemon knocked out or something?" "Let's do this!." Dinah looked back at Ivan and gave a nod. "That's better. Alright Tepig we've got...Oh, quick, Ember!" The Murkrow's sudden attack seemingly catching Dinah somewhat off guard. Her Tepig was startled by her trainer's response but dug in and shot out several small flames towards Don. While the flames struck Don it didn't stop him from continuing on and delivering a strong peck to the Fire-type's forehead. "Don't let them get to you Tepig, you're much stronger, just go in for a Tackle!" The Tepig jumped back and tucked their head down before running at Don, turning slightly to try and slam its shoulder into the bird. Tavares nodded when the group responded in the positive. He started heading out and, pausing only to pull a hood up, walked beyond the windless area of the pillar. Naomi shambled along, starting to regret not having Princess come out, but not feeling enough energy to grab the Rhyhorn's Pokeball. She was staring at Kanon as they moved. More specifically at the injury. "D'you think Pokemon think we're tasty?" She asked her. "S'Bug gonna try that too?" While she didn't explain who "Bug" was she did gesture at the Pokeballs on her hip. "When we have a moment I'd love to ask you about the pillars." Tavares seemed a bit nervous by the girl's energy. Keeping his hood up over his face, presumably for the sand, and only taking occasional glances at her. But he did respond anyway. "I can tell you whatever you want...They've been here for a long time. Nothing ever happens with them that I've seen. They're kind of...just there." The group continued on, talking while avoiding getting sand in their mouth, through the dry heat of the desert. Suddenly Tavares stopped. "We're here." He said. Though were the group to look around they wouldn't see any signs of a city. When questioned Tavares pointed to what looked like a small stone outpost, something of a shack, sticking out like a sore thumb against the flatness of the desert. Without explaining Tavares walked off towards it. There was no door, simply an open area on one side, and inside was an adult male with a Krokorok at his side. He smiled when he saw the group. "Ah, back already? I see you've got some strays." He noticed Kanon's arm and frowned. "Ah, hospital isn't far, follow the signs when you get in...Oh, and welcome to Gemupet City." He gestured them inside where they saw a wide staircase. They moved down, down, down...until the staircase leveled out and opened up into a huge open area. Another set of stairs led down into what looked to be a sprawling city. A multitude of stone buildings with paved roads filled with people moving along. From their position above the city they could see a bazaar where large groups of people were haggling and trading. Off in the distance, on the other side of the city, looked to be some sort of labyrinth. After giving them a few moments Tavares coughed. "So...this is the city...the hospital is this way." He led them down the rest of the stairs and pointed off to the right. Though it didn't look like he was going to go with them. "I have a few other things to take care of...I'll probably see you again though."
