  1. Once again, another set of turns came and went, this time with Charlie having a plethora of cards drawn from their deck and a now revived Frightfur Sheep with a boost of 800 attack, along with Tiger and Cotton Eater, this would bring the Fusion Monster from 3500 it had before, to now a total of 4300 at the end of the turn. At the moment, however, it seemed they were just playing a game of tennis with this Duel. A nice sized damage here and immediately served up to the opponent, who would only do pretty much the same thing. Still...it was quite interesting to see the Co-Captain of Horizon's Duel Team in action. Hmmm, with nothing left on Peter's field, unless he Top Decks something in the next turn, he might actually lo- "Heya, whatcha doing? Got anything to say, new person? I bet you got allll sorts of thoughts just waiting to come out don't you?" David's thoughts were cut short when the one member of the Duel Team, Hana, abruptly derailed them as he felt his head being tapped a bit. He blinked slightly before looking down at Hana, who now was derailed into a different conversation regarding pizza. What a strange individual... he thought, before clearing his throat, adjusting his glasses slightly. "Apologies. I figured I'd remain silent for the time being. After all, no one else seemed to be commenting on the happenings, aside from the other Co-Captain." David began, glancing over at Avi, before returning to the Duel before him. "But, since you prodded...even though now your occupied now with a different topic it seems..." he sighed, overhearing her talk about what pizza everyone wanted. "All I'll say is that this Duel, while it seems generally even, I believe it may just end in the victory of the Co-Captain." With another adjustment of his glasses, David continued. "Right now, Charlie has seemed to be on top of everything since the beginning of this Duel. Peter, while demonstrating a generous amount of Dueling prowess and skill with his Blue-Eyes, Charlie seems to have everything on lockdown with their Fluffals and Frightfurs. Especially at this moment. The only thing that Peter has left for himself right now is Twin Burst, while Charlie has Frightfur Tiger and Sheep, along with Edge Imp Cotton Eater. Further, they still have Toy Vendor which is the main kicker for them and their plays, allowing them to have ample amount of access to any resource in their deck." He paused, taking a breath, already getting lengthy but nevertheless he continued. "With a total of 4300 attack for Sheep, and with the possibility of that Sheep gets destroyed somehow within this next turn...and that's assuming Peter can Top Deck something...it'll return with another 800 attack, bringing it up to 5100 attack at the start of the next turn. And the moment more Fluffal or Frightfurs get summoned, that number will increase further." David sighed slightly, crossing his arms. "This turn hinges on if Peter can make a solid play to claw out of the grasps of the Co-Captain."
  2. I get this. Basing it on his comic run of him having a solo series, it's been generally downhill, so I'll give you that. This isn't too well of a thought out idea for Sony in the department of finding a "Spider-Man villain" to make a solo movie out of. Out of the entirety of the collective characters, if anything, it probably should've been Black Cat who received a solo film (then again, the moment they bring her and Spidey into the same screen, things might get weird if she's WAY older, so probably a good thing that's not the case). Still, out of this we have multiple pathways for this to proceed if this works out perfectly. He was in two different groups within Marvel Comics: -Legion of Monsters -Midnight Sons The Legion of Monsters and Midnight Sons has quite the gallery of members, including Ghost Rider as well as Werewolf By Night. The latter of these two, however, does deal with a different Marvel character: Moon Knight, which has been confirmed for a Disney+ show. Could Morbius possibly make an appearance there in Moon Knight? This could open the door to that possibility. Not only that, but if the 90s animated series of "Spider-Man" is anything to go by as well...then this would open the door for yet another chance meeting: Morbius and Blade. Blade has also been recently confirmed for the MCU in Phase 5. That said, what better way to have a Living Vampire in the MCU (or Sony's MCU whatever) to go against Blade, just like they ended up crossing paths with before in the 90s animated series (which those episodes debuted Morbius as the vampire and had him go against Blade). Again, I understand the implications on the fact of Morbius and a stand alone movie may be pretty bad and might bomb, but at the same time: I went into the Venom movie with that mentality myself. Don't get me wrong, I love Venom as a character in the Marvel comics, but it's only cause he had the connection with Spider-Man. So I assumed it wouldn't work without him. But the movie did it's thing and a bunch of people loved the movie, despite it having no connection with Spider-Man whatsoever. This movie, however, has blatant references to the Web-Head, Michael Keaton playing a "undisclosed role" (even though we ALL know it's Adrian Toomes/Vulture) and even the recurring J.K. Simmons as J.J.J. (though this is currently rumored, but we all know he will). This one might do a bit better than I think it will, but this is just me thinking aloud.
  3. "I'm afraid a straightforward fight is simply not an option at the moment. You may have noticed my current attire is rather ill suited for combat? I was thinking we could do something a bit more mentally stimulating. It may seem a bit childish but would you indulge me in a game of Mirror Man?" Alexandre looked at the Jaeger almost with disbelief. A game? This Jaeger in particular seemed like he was obviously planning something else, but this wasn't something he was expecting in the slightest. This isn't a time for a game...I'm here to train and at least gauge where the others stand...especially if I need them to hold me back if I lose control. he thought, before noticing the Dragon Slayer walk in. Thank the heavens! "Hey, come on, let's get started." "Sorry, but I'm afraid your game will have to wait until later." Alexandre nodded, moving away from Robin before standing in front of Sieg. "Okay... I want you to hit me as hard as you can. Don't hold back on my account. I promise I can take anything you can dish out." "Hit you as hard, as I can?" Alexandre muttered, exhaling slightly as he shifted himself back into the stance he took earlier before Robin. With another exhale, the young Jaeger lunged forward, delivering a powerful palm strike straight at Sieg's chest. It wasn't 100% everything he had...he was intentionally holding back that one part of him... And he wasn't sure if Sieg could feel and or sense that himself. Sieg took the punch to the chest, his eyes narrowing a little. He didn't budge from his spot, instead looking over the prince. "That's...," He paused. "Not bad, but... I expected more. Either you're holding back, or Jekyll is... well, losing his touch," He suddenly moved, punching Alexandre in the chest. It wasn't his full power, far from it, in fact, but he was sure he put enough in it to catch Alexandre off guard without hurting him too much. Alexandre cursed silently, hearing that Sieg did indeed notice it. And he took advantage of it right there and then. A punch to his own chest was deliver and he did get caught off guard in the process. He growled slightly, holding his chest. "...you noticed. Yes...I'm holding back." he began, slowly standing up straight. "Rather, it's more or less...for me to go all out like you want...I'd have to be enraged. But I'd rather that not happen, if you don't mind." "Yeah, no, that's fine, don't rage out," Sieg commented. "But surely you can at least hit me full force without being angry? Just take your arm back and swing," "I can attempt it...though the way I was taught to fight like this was scare tactics and utilizing my opponent's movements and momentum to my advantage." Alexandre explained, getting back into a stance. "The sheer brute force...that's the other side of the coin for me." "Well, I suppose we can try that after this. I just want to get a sense of your physical strength before we move on," Sieg explained as he took his stance again, this time taking a deep breath. Alexandre exhaled once more, before looking directly at Sieg again. With another exhale, the young Jaeger rushed towards Sieg and delivered another strike at the Dragon Slayer's chest...this time, not as a palm strike, but a fist. He made sure to put as much power as he could into his strike this time, after all...he had to make up for the other side of him. Sieg took the hit in the chest again, this time taking a small step back as he was hit. "Hmm... not bad, not bad at all," Alexandre moved back slightly, exhaling slowly. "I would assume that will suffice for the time being?" "Interesting, he was able to tell that just from one strike that the Beast was holding back." Elsewhere, Eric Jekyll, who was now sitting in his office, watched the events unfold from a scrying orb he had on his desk. He watched both the Dragon Slayer and the Beast exchange blows as well as idle chit-chat. He let out a low chuckle, his hands beginning to have his fingers interlock with one another as he leaned back to watch. "Question becomes...which one of these Jaegers will be the first to enrage the prince and release the Beast?" he mused, only watching the orb with anticipation.
  4. "I wouldn't say a good portion, seems a bit optimistic. Way I see it it's the minority. I get the feeling that guy is gonna have a rough time of it. I just wanna know what he's doing here. Guy like that probably doesn't do anything they don't want to." "Probably a publicity stunt or something like that." Chase shrugged. "That's normally how celebrities do things, right?" Least that's how the young man assumed things worked with celebrities. They go somewhere and get publicity in certain locations just to help put their names out and possibly promote themselves and whatever they're career was involved with. So that probably would be the reason why Weston was here to begin with. "Ah, whatever, who cares about some silver spoon dandy. So what, uh, what're you planning on doing? Last free day before we have to deal with school crap. Planning on messing with that design cra-stuff more?" Chase was silent for a moment, before shrugging and sighing a bit. "Nah, your right. A good portion of my design stuff can be labeled 'crap', plus I've heard it before so don't try and hold punches about stuff like that." he said with a smile. "Regardless, I could...but I'm fairly certain going to be designing stuff the entire time during the semester, so I guess I could possibly stay off the sketchbook for a while. So I guess this whole conversation between us helped me out there from driving myself into a corner with designing."
  5. Jared Leto portraying the Living Vampire, Morbius. Won't lie, I wasn't 100% thrilled about this originally, since it needs Spider-Man, but MY GOD this actually seems like it might be good. So let's begin the discussion!
  6. Deal was made! "Someone else gambled around the same time? Would you happen to have any names or images of this potential someone? If they also gambled themselves into hefty winnings, I'd bet that they'd also be a Master and a part of this Grail War. So seeing at least their face would help out in the long run." >Looks over at Rider "Unfortunately, if they are a Master, we won't know what Servant they happen to have at their disposal. But I guess we'll cross that bridge when we arrive there."
  7. Taking the time to go back on one of my old RP characters to rewrite and rework things, just cause I need a good distraction from things. It's fun going back and looking at old characters!

  8. Souji ended up making it back to his dorm room after the Kickoff, delivering the design of Kyouko's outfit to Sai, who was actually elated to receive something of such high quality and with some vision...so much so that Souji thought Sai had found the love of his life...of course, with his general people's skills, that was obvious a negative. Though when he delivered the design, he immediately went off to his own desk in the dorm room and began to yet again rewatch the Kickoff Duel. Once he sat down, he pulled out a pencil and a notebook and began to write a few things down. He needed to get some sort of topic and general thoughts about this Duel ready for the club to talk about, since only him, Kyouko and he believed Melissa was there as well...so the others would need to see this Duel in action. It was a good few hours and Souji never did find time to sleep...and rather than just falling asleep for a couple of hours, he stayed up. Luckily for him, "The Endgame" was playing on TV. He had watched that movie before, but he wanted to watch it again...and that there would keep him satiated for the next couple of hours. ...especially contemplating the possible paradox in time where Colonel Star went back in time in order to drop whatever McGuffins that was needed in order to beat the big bad at the end...and only appear again in the present time, but this time sitting on a park bench as an old man. Such thoughts about this possible paradox plagued his mind for a bit, but eventually he got over thinking this and continued on. He wasn't sure how long he was passed out, buuuuuut he was fairly certain he missed his first class by a wide margin. With a yawn, Souji rubbed his eye, noticing his phone blinking to alert him about a new message. "...someone messaging me?" he tiredly grabbed his phone and glanced at it. To: Souji, Sai, Kyouko, Hoshiko, Akari From: Melissa Sorry! I meant to look for all of you at Kickoff but it slipped my mind. Hope you all had a great time. So Melissa was there last night...that's good. So she probably got a good check at the Duel...hopefully. Souji thought, finally getting out from his bed, proceeding to respond to the group message. To: Sai, Kyouko, Hoshiko, Akari, Melissa From: Souji Well at the present time, all I knew was me and Kyouko were at the Kickoff. Good to know you were there as well, Melissa. Regardless, I have the Duel recorded. Plan to show it during the next club meeting so we can talk about the differing Duel Styles and what we can gleam from them in order to apply them to ourselves and our own Duel Styles. With that sent off, Souji yawned once more and went off to get himself ready for the day.
  9. While HERO is my favorite Fusion based deck, I believe that Dinomist is becoming my new favorite Pendulum based deck!

  10. ...alright, I'll indulge this thread...let's see it
  11. "Oh, your a mage as well. Amazing, there are a lot more here than I would've expected." >Looks at Rider and then at Lando, clearing my throat. "Myself and my Heroic Spirit here played a few games, yes, but everyone has a small run of luck in gambling. Besides, I'm fairly certain our win ratio didn't exceed any other patrons you've had come and go from the Midas Palace. I assure you, everything we did was legit in the eyes of the law. Regardless, maybe I can offer a counter offer." >Moves self to be in front of the chess board and flicks my own wrist, causing one of the black pawns to move a few spaces. "Me and my Servant can make sure the war doesn't come down this side of town. That, I know will affect you more than anything. After all, if some disastrous war comes running amok through this side, it'll be bad for business. I'm somewhat proposing a bit of a partnership, after all, you being someone within mage society, I would assume, would actually benefit greatly from this. We can give you half of what we received during our first night here as well as keep this war away from this side of town and away from the Midas Palace. All I'd ask is you'd allow us sanctuary in the penthouse as well as possibly providing any information you may have about the war and the participants. And if half our earnings isn't good enough, I'm willing to part with 80%, with us having only 20%. It's a gamble and as someone who runs a casino, you can't deny that these odds are well in your favor."
  12. >Seems quite surprised, but plays it calmly "You know what he is? Well, that's definitely a new one...regardless, we had no intention of putting you in what pickle you find yourself in, Mr. Medici. We're simply doing what we can to survive. That said, would you mind me asking, how can we make this better for you? Surely we can negotiate something." >Commence link with Rider "...okay this is a turn I didn't expect, Rider. He knows your a Servant and I, your Master. This guy seems to know a lot...be ready."
  13. Both sides never gave an inch, from what David saw. And things seemed to be going into Peter's favor, least field wise and obviously with each play. The perfect timing on playing Maiden as well as bringing out another Blue-Eyes to then use Burst Stream of Destruction. While it might've seemed like a simple move, David saw it as a chance for this young boy to obviously take the field advantage with his dragons. Just when he needed another monster to even the odds, this kid seems to live up to the Wilson family name. he thought, adjusting his glasses again. And while Burst Stream keeps a Blue-Eyes from attacking, he was able to get past that just from the Twin-Burst Dragon he summoned the turn before. If things continue in this sort of pattern, it's clear that the little heir will pass his test to join the Duel Team. David's eyes then went straight to the Co-Captain, Charlie. He began to look hard at them for a few moments, trying to piece things together. ...however, they aren't the Co-Captain for nothing. So if things seem to be going into the heir's favor, it's obvious that they're probably allowing it. I doubt we've even begun to see their "fangs" yet...so this should prove most interesting. Whatever the outcome at this point, one thing was clear: this was an amazing Duel so far.
  14. A bit of ambience for y'all... 2019, lemme just say this was quite the roller coaster of a year for me. I'll just skip the first three months of 2019, just for the sake of getting to what I really want to talk about (plus nothing happened within those months aside from me turning 26 in Feb, as well as buying my own PS4 and TV). It really all just went down a different direction for me April 1st, well...back tracking slightly. Most of you know that in Nov./Dec., I was blessed with a job thanks to my dad getting a new one and me taking his old job. It was hard work and I'll admit there was quite a bit of times I actually broke down (first major job here), but it was good, and dad was able to help me out through it. Late March, however, I was presented an individual that according to him, was to be my helper. I asked my supervisor about it and he confirmed this and asked me to train the guy in what we did over there at Husqvarna's IT. ...April 1st, I leave work that Monday and get a phone call that says my contract has been terminated. I find out, that the guy I was training...was my replacement, but the kicker is...he didn't even know he was my replacement as he was just told he was going to assist me with projects since Husqvarna got money for more than one IT person. At first, I hoped it was a April Fools joke, but it wasn't. So April 1st was the first hurdle this year had on me...but April wouldn't be 100% done with me. April 22nd: my dad passed due to a massive heart attack. This, I know, a good portion of people remember me mentioning on the old site. He was 47, married about 27 years...and one of my best friends...and just like that, he was gone. A year prior (namely Aug. 2018), he flipped his truck and went to the hospital. I figured he'd be perfectly fine...many people have heart attacks and still live...but my dad was a bit overweight and had high blood pressure, so I guess that played a different factor. I'm still trying to come to grips on the fact that he's not here and that he won't just walk into the door like he always does. A good portion of the year, I honestly wanted to just give up on everything and just crater. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, a good handful of you from YCM and NCM didn't let me. Between you guys and my friends and family IRL, you all kept me going, even when I didn't want to at this time. So I'm actually grateful to all of you who helped me out. With that, the next couple of months I did my best to try and push forward. My family and I really had our moments, namely my brother and his temper. I can't count the nights that there was an argument because him and his girlfriend were arguing and mom would say something and he'd get pissed and then THEY'D get into an argument, with me attempting to play the mediator. Still, we got through all of it. We hung out, we joked, we watched practically the end of Phase 3 of the MCU...though it killed us not to see him with us. Through all this, Sai and Yui helped me out a lot...hell, even got me to play Fate/Grand Order on a few emulators, just so I can enjoy the hell that is gacha (and jeeeeeez it is indeed a hell). What really killed me though, was in Aug. Down here where I'm from, we have an annual festival/fair that's known as the Watermelon Festival. My church does the clean up of it all three days (Thurs - Sat) and one massive go through on Sunday. For the past few years, my dad was the one that spearheaded this little operation. This year, my pastor called me specifically and asked if I'd like to take up his position and spearhead it. I broke, but I only told him I'd do it happily. That was a difficult time, but I did what I could and the results were pretty good. Quite a number of the church members came up to me after and told me I did a great job and that dad would've been proud...again, I broke when I heard this so yeah, bit of a pattern here. Oh, in October, I finally decided to go back into running an RP in the RP Section, after being meme'd for the longest time by a good number of individuals (coughsai, yui, andrepcough). No longer is the meme of "WHERE'S GRIMM NIGHTS, SONIC?!" a thing, as now I've revamped the old idea of mine with thanks to Sai and Yui and it's developed into something even better. And with a much brighter and more interesting cast than the last time, so I'm hoping for a great ride with Grimm Nights and hope it thrives greatly within this year. Now we come to Christmas and the end. It was bittersweet, he wasn't here...but mom, bless her heart, did everything she could to make sure me and my brother had a good Christmas. From a Switch Lite to just getting bits and pieces here and there just to make sure we were happy. It really upset me that she would spend that much when she herself lost her job not even a month after my dad passed...but as mothers do, she only told me to shut up and not worry about it, even though I did and still do. Where does this leave me in the wake of 2019? I'm still unemployed Hurting still because of my dad's passing Still pushing forward...still reaching for what I can in order to make something of myself 2020 is a new year and a new decade. I'm doing my best in order to keep going. True to my typecast nature (of either being shounen or seinen), I'm not giving up and I'm pushing through. My dad would've told me to keep going, so I'm doing just that. Be it IRL or here on NCM, I intend to be better. Don't know how that or anything is going to look like, but it's happening.
  15. "Er, yeah, maybe. So that actor guy. Really seemed to rub you the wrong way. Kinda surprised you didn't say nothing when that uh...what's his name, the big dude who yelled at him. The student all the girls have been glaring at. When he got up in his face." "Oh you happened to notice that?" Chase asked, snickering some with a bit of a shrug. "Yeah, I'll be totally honest, as much as I wanted to say something myself, I've sort of learned to keep my tongue under wraps with that." he said, rubbing the back of his head. "Then again...that's not too much saying for myself at the current situation..." Chase specifically referenced their little spat there, just because of this little scenario and the fact he didn't control it that time. "Regardless, the fact that someone else decided to get into Weston's face...that's something in itself." Chase continued, shaking his head. "Just goes to show ya that a good portion of people don't get sucked into the whole celebrity and they don't like him at all."
  16. Can't say I was apart of the original...but ahhhh what the hell, I'll hop on board! Everybody Walk the Dinosaur
  17. OoC: This guy seems to be important...dude has glass chess for crying out loud!! "Yes sir, that would be us." >Acting cordial and sits down "And may I ask who you are? The suit definitely shows you're one of high class, least from my point of view. Giorgio Armani?"
  18. “Hallo! Do you know who else is coming? I’m kind of tapped out for right now, but I’d enjoy watching someone else.” Alexandre was a bit surprised, hearing someone talk to him right now. He moved his gaze towards the source of the voice, seeing it coming from Elsie...the witch. Her appearance, to him, definitely said human at first glance, but the smell...oh the smell, it definitely screamed out Jaeger. And whilst Lucine, Wada, and Lachlan all had their little conversation, Alexandre thought it best to be cordial and address the witch. "I was told to come here by the Dragon Slayer...the one who reeks of human and Jaeger at the same time." Alexandre began. "He was with the very flirtatious woman and the rabbit man, so it would be fair to say those two would most likely be joining in." "My my, we've just had quite the work out, it's such a shame you hadn't come earlier to join our little game. It would have been much more interesting with a fellow noble no doubt. Other Jaegers do tend to lack that certain elegance we no doubt share. As our dear teammate said we're both rather exhausted at the moment but I'd be more than happy to keep you company until a more suitable partner arrived." The young Jaeger turned his attention to the other, Robin, hearing his little proposition. Alexandre sighed lightly, before standing from his sitting position, adjusting his clothes ever so slightly. "...I've yet to meet another Jaeger noble myself. So I suppose I can indulge this a bit before the Dragon Slayer walks in." This little comment he made, definitely showed that he didn't exactly think of this prince as too much of a threat or being a suitable partner. With him saying something like this, perhaps it would cause his opponent to slip up somewhere. He removed his gloves, his nails then becoming razor sharp, brandishing them. The young Jaeger then began to shift into a stance, his breathing being calmed as well. "If you're ready, I'll allow you the first shot."

Honestly, I'm extremely grateful for them and I just wish my dad was still around, cause that there would've made things even better for me.
  20. Edited and added stuff, just so you know.
  21. >Looks at both of the men, before simply adjusting my clothes slightly, whilst having a direct thought via telepathy to Rider. "...I don't like the way this sounds. However, to avoid an unnecessary bloodbath or just confrontation, we should go along. If push comes to shove...then we will exercise force. No killing, understood?" "Of course..." >Begins walking towards the vehicle, with Rider most likely following behind.
  22. The first Duel for access into the Duel Team was against the Co-Captain Charlie and the young Peter Wilson III. David wasn't too familiar with the young child of the Wilson family, but he'd be labeled a laughing stock if in this world he hadn't heard of at least his parents. Quite the amazing Pro Duelists, and yet...their son was here at Horizon. Surely he had better options to go for instead of coming to a school where the Duel Team was in, for lack of a better word, shambles. Still, David guessed there was a reason for this. He didn't fight to be the first Duel, after all, he learned better by watching and taking note of certain styles of other Duelists. Now, let's see how well the little heir fairs against a Captain of the Duel Team. he thought, smirking lightly. The Duel began and he was mildly impressed. Fluffal versus...of course...Blue-Eyes. David figured that the little prodigy would be using Blue-Eyes, since his father and grandfather used them. It was the only natural choice for him, though he wondered how that would work for him, being handed down a deck rather than finding an archetype and style that worked for him. Then again, he wasn't sure how the whole thing with rich families worked. “Hey, leave Leo alone! It’s super cute! Destroy it! I’ll set 2, and then I guess that’s all I can do for now. But remember what I said about your fangs, buddy~” "Hmmm, best course of action when looking down that specific dragon." David commented, adjusting his glasses slightly. "And with two face downs, one is almost guaranteed to be some sort of protection for Leo...namely if they want to keep Leo out. And if Peter summons up another Blue-Eyes, he can kiss it good-bye right on the next turn just because of Leo's effect." He slowly crossed his arms, his left hand under his chin slightly. ...still, something tells me that this kid isn't worried about the face downs. He might still have a trick up his sleeve...
  23. Out of all the OPs for JJBA Part 4, I find myself listening to this a LOT and I don't know why xD

  24. >Notices the men in suits and what they're talking about >Casually and cautiously, allows the suits to approach "Yes sir, we are. Is there some sort of problem?"
