  2. For once Hana found that she didn't have anywhere to be. Usually there would be something calling her name and drawing her into an adventure of some kind. But today the muse of journey was oddly silent. She supposed she might as well actually go to the Duel Team today. How unusual indeed! But first... --- Hana entered the gym while carrying several boxes of donuts. One of which was opened up. The girl was awkwardly leaning forward and eating one of the donuts with no hands. Pushing it to the edge and using her mouth and tongue to get pieces of it into her mouth. In this manner she moved along towards a seat in the front, set the boxes in her lap, and began to eat faster now that she had free hands. "pop quiz. How many people can duel in this room at once?" "That's a silly question Miss Coach Lady." Hana said with a giggle. She held one of the donuts up and presented it to her. "If you don't know that...Maybe you need some sugar!" Her smile was totally innocent despite the implication of what she said. "After all everyone can play! Like like, someone could go over there and lay down and then they can duel someone. And over there. There too! The possibilities are endless!" Hana was gesturing with the offered donut at various spots in the gym. Sure maybe they couldn't be all fancy but a duel was a duel right? What did it matter if they just set the cards down on the ground. Her eyes lit up. "We can even make the attack noises for our cards!"
  3. Rona was so tired. She knew she should be resting. Especially as it seemed they were going to be camping here. But she just couldn't. Not here. Not when she couldn't be sure they weren't going to be followed. Her face must have shown her displeasure because Alexis commented on it. "We won't reach the city if we leave now anyway, might as well take a break here." The Wyvern Rider frowned. "I didn't say anything. The commander says we shall camp and that is what we shall do." She then proceeded to start setting things up for said camp. Cormag ambled his way towards the edge of the area they were setting up and slumped his large body onto the ground. In moments he was asleep. Rona noticed this and felt some shame at the realization how worn out he had gotten throughout the day. She paused in her setting up to approach the wyvern and check him over. Forgetting about finishing the camp as she noticed a couple minor wounds on his body that she became focused on cleaning. Glancing at the others to make sure they weren't listening she whispered. "Sorry Cormag." To the wyvern. While in the army they made sure to keep their mounts in fighting shape she had noticed many of them didn't bother to talk to them unless necessary. She still occasionally struggled with doing so around the others because of this. As she continued she felt her body growing more tired. And despite fighting it she soon ended up drifting off against Cormag's side. Alexis kept one eye on the wyvern rider, amused to notice how sluggish she seemed and how much she was fighting to stay awake. Personally she was glad they were going to take some time. She, too, was concerned about what might happen when the soldiers returned to base and reported on what happened, but she could tell most of them were starting to drop. Anne's answer regarding dark magic was what she expected. This girl, so well traveled, should have often seen the evils of the magic yet she seemed unconcerned. It was just another sign of how well those who practice it have fooled the world at large. Their magic comes from evil so there's no way it wasn't evil in of itself. She felt bad for Anne but it wasn't as though she could do anything for her. That being said she was rather excited at the prospect of learning more. "Anything from outside of Aeora would be great." Alexis said, smiling wide. "If you'd like I could play a song or two for you as well." She glanced over at where Rona had gone and noticed the sleeping wyvern. "Might have to play quietly though."
  4. Did top 30 cause of how many there were, 5 lines of 6 (or 5 full teams!) and it turned out rather interesting
  5. The next morning would start the same for each student. With an alarm. Regardless of if they had their own alarm set the room itself would go off with a klaxon sound. This noise wouldn't stop until everyone in the room got out of bed and placed both feet on the ground. Much to the chagrin of many of them. If they lay back down after the alarm wouldn't come back. It was meant to get them to their feet. What they did after was up to them. The schedule would be posted on a screen that had seemingly appeared overnight in the otherwise barren rooms. It seemed the first class would be General Education with Dalton John. --- Once in the classroom they would be free to choose their own seat. The room was laid out like a lecture hall. A desk at one end, with a large screen currently displaying an image of a round corgi bouncing across the screen, and stadium style seating at the other end. Half a dozen rows of seats, each row higher than the last, with a long desk in front of each. As they filtered in and took their seats they'd see that in front of them was a digital keyboard as well as a holographic screen which at the moment was just a blank blue. The teacher was nowhere to be seen as the bell rang for class to begin. A few seconds later however he rushed in, buttoning up his coat and adjusting his glasses as he stumbled his way to the desk. He put his briefcase down with a thud and took a few seconds to get his bearings before turning to the class. He raised his hands up and spread his arms out and gave a self-deprecating smile. "Not the best first day I admit. Well, either way, welcome students to the General Education class! I already introduced myself but I suppose I should explain a bit more about my class. You see a lot of people see mech pilots as armymen and women with all brawn and no brain. But that just isn't the case. To pilot a mech the most important skill you can have is being able to think. And without the basics you can't hope to learn anything else. Even if it's just a bit if you know something about everything you'll be much more capable and can survive in many conditions." He nodded, seemingly pleased with himself, then clapped his hands together loudly. "Now then, you know my name, but how about all of yours? I'd like if we started this getting to know each other a bit better. So why don't you each tell me your name and, let's see, three things you love. I'll start. I'm Dalton John and I love my dog, my job, and chocolate." He patted his stomach. "A bit too much I'd say." He chuckled to himself before looking around the room. "Why don't we go with....you there, the one who's somehow sleeping while sitting up." He then reached back to the keyboard on his own desk and pressed a button. When he did the screen in front of Kelsey lit up and let out a loud buzzing sound. The girl gave a start and stood up. Looking around in a daze she muttered "Huh?" Dalton then repeated the task and she nodded slowly. With a yawn she gave it a bit of thought and said the first things that came to mind. "I like boxing, arcade games...and uh...my best friend." She nodded tiredly and gave a sleepy smile before sitting back down. "Well that's lovely, see, not so hard. So who's next?" Those who were focusing might notice something about the teacher's briefcase. It seemed to be moving. Slowly inching towards the edge of the desk.

  8. They had chosen the left side. Led by Sergei the group makes their way through the similarly sized tunnel. At first it seemed to be mostly straight but not far along it started to curve back towards the right. The scenery was much the same as before. Several more piles of junk littered the ground. Though one of them would step on something as they went that appeared to be a humanoid skull. They hadn't gotten far when the scurrying noises from before got louder. Sergei would be the first to notice movement. But it was only a moment before they all would see what lurked in the shadows. Battle start A rat came from further along the tunnel. It was large even for a dog let alone a rodent. Its fur had missing patches and its yellowed teeth had a chip in them. Beady red eyes seemed to flash while the rat ran at Sergei and leapt. The beast opened it's mouth and let out a hissing noise as it aimed to clamp down on Sergei's arm. Close behind it a second rat could be seen following the first. Though it didn't jump along with it. If any were to look farther behind they would be able to see figures, roughly the same size as the rats, making their way closer to the group.
  9. distordisdisdisdisdisdisdisdisdisdistortion worworworworworl.... Giratina was trembling. Though it was more like their body was vibrating intensely. Jerking here and there. She realized Nine from her grip only to grab him again and throw him across her other side and into another platform. They were playing with them now. Nine was nearly unconscious, Shaymin had been afflicted by paralysis from Giratina's breath attack, and Lok seemed to barely be avoiding major damage himself. Even as Giratina played with Nine's body she used her twisted aura to rip chunks of various platforms and fling them at the Rotom boy. He wouldn't be able to dodge them all and at least some would strike him with incredible force. --- Gwen closed her eyes tight as Giratina grabbed both Nine and Lok and held them in front of her, several feet above her head, and roared. She couldn't stand this. She knew this is what her plan was to begin with. Long ago, before starting her journey, she had been tasked with finding a way to conquer Giratina. To weaken them enough so her master would be able to use her power to increase his own. She had set out to find those who could help with this. But over the course of her journey, while she found some, she also found something else. They had become her friends. Even with her memories of her time here back she couldn't shake the feeling in her heart. Yet there was still so much wrong in the world. So many people hurting others. So much pain. "So why add to it? Does that not mean you should do what you can to make the world brighter? Drowning it in darkness may stamp out the evils but it would also remove the good." The voice was different. Not that of her master's. Yet still oddly familiar. It highlighted Gwen's problem with this entire thing. She hadn't only seen people do evil acts. She had seen good, as well. From the very people she was using at that. "We're close, Gwendoline, do not give in now." Her master's voice sounded upset. And panicked. It was true, she had come so far. And perhaps there wasn't any turning back. But she knew she had to do something. She couldn't just stand here anymore. And as the thought went through her mind she knew exactly how to help. Something long lost stirred in her memory, in her soul, and she stepped through the barrier. --- Giratina's mouth filled with draconic energy. She was holding Nine and Lok up. Her hands, more like claws now, somehow large enough to wrap around their entire bodies. Rearing her head back she was about to unleash her dragonbreath. Then she paused. Her body seemed to flicker and distort. And a soft, pinkish, glow formed behind her. She tilted her head backwards to look at where it was coming from and let out a snarl. Gwen was approaching. On one of the floating platforms. Her eyes were closed but she was facing Giratina directly. The glow seemed to surround her and pushed away the darkness of the void around her body. "I'm sorry." She said as she got near and Giratina dropped Nine and Lok. Turning to face her fully. "I have done something terrible to all of you. I've tricked you. All this time I was working with someone. Someone who claimed we had to reset the world. To bring it back to the point when it first started. I...still am not sure he isn't wrong. But I do know that using my friends as I have is not something I can continue doing. I'm not a strong woman but there is something even I can do. Even now I do it with borrowed power but...I hope that it will be enough to start to apologies." She opened her eyes, which glowed purple, and smiled. "I'm sure this all will be very onix-pected." she said. And then she began to dance. A slow, graceful, series of movements. With every step the aura around her flared out. Giratina snarled again and tore into the air in front of her before stepping inside. Still Gwen didn't stop dancing. She instead sped up, faster, faster, and they could see the faint outline of a moon hanging above her head. And then Giratina appeared behind her. And thrust a claw through her body. She let out a gasp and ceased movement. But it was too late. The energy that she had created exploded outward. As it did they could hear her voice. "Unfortunately I have to ask you to clean up my mess. Please, I leave the rest to you." And she fell over. BGM Something happened then. Each of the three would feel an energy enter them. They felt a soothing sensation but also one of determination. Their injuries began to heal and, more than that, they could feel their bodies strengthening more than they had before. They felt strong, faster, more alert. The dance Gwen had done gave them a boost in power as well as bringing them back from the brink of death. Giratina let out an even louder roar than before. Her eyes bulged as she screamed at the trio and, destroying the platform under her, leapt towards them again. It was now or never. Either they stopped Giratina's rampage here or the legend would destroy them entirely.

  16. "But how could someone just move the Gate? We saw what it did to those sharks that were just near it in the desert, never mind that crazy wizard. Wouldn't you turn into some crazy monster if you touched it that long?" "Judging from what we know so far, I'd say it's safe to assume that our enemies are mages like the man on fire. No normal ilk would have the faculties to be near the gate for long periods of time, let alone move it or harness its power." Keres was busy writing down notes as the others discussed the matter. Something about the direction of the conversation bothered her though. "I don't think he...was part of a group." The journals and notes that they had found made her think he was a lone mage. One that was paranoid about the Council and thought hiding out in the desert would protect him from...something. "It could have been moved long ago...it would have been easily seen in the open...maybe underground?" How it got there she still wasn't sure but it made more sense than being in a field somewhere. "I think we should look into the island that villagers seem so weary of... it almost too perfect not to provide any leads." "Would take a long time. Have to be sure...not here first." From the maps she had seen it could take up to a week to travel to the lake. If it wasn't there and they spent all that time...But then again where else could they check on this side of the land? In the end she thought at least it would be best to first return to Myyrka before deciding anything for sure. And so once everyone had said their piece and they realized it was getting dark they decided to rest for the night. First thing in the morning they set out to head back to the city they had come from. --- Myyrka seemed much the same as they had left it. If anything it seemed slightly less bustling than before. The town guard recognized them and there was no trouble getting back in. Soon after going through the city however someone came up to them, specifically Geoff, and inquired about his lost dog. Geoff slapped his forehead. "Aye, I still have to find the rascal." He turned to the others. "It is time for me to depart. I still have much to do. I won't be gone from the city long though. We should go on another quest together soon! Just say the word and I will be battling beasties alongside you again! But for now I must go see a man about a dog, farewell!" With that he hopped onto his buffalo and rode off into the distance. "So...someone needs to bring this back to the woman." Keres said, holding up the pendant. "And, maybe we should see where Damien went...make sure he didn't make himself sick."
