  1. This man...whoever he was, he was entirely confident. Either he was telling the truth, that he was a hero, or he was really good at covering his tracks. "Aren't you gonna probe me a little more? Come on, make this fun for me too!" Again she wasn't sure what to think of this. She didn't know of a hero named Crimson and the name didn't give her much of an idea of what he could do. The best she could do was press on and face whatever came head on. It was a much more natural state for her anyway. Yuudai had decided to ask about the tracks. Questioning if it wasn't just some animal tracks. Valerie couldn't claim to be an expert on wildlife but she did know something felt weird about it. "This isn't a deer kid. The spacing between the tracks means it's taking longer strides. It's bipedal..." He looked to both of them and squinted. "So either there's a satyr in these woods, or somethin' else...and I'm here to figure out what." And that would explain it. With the other question, he looked forward and scratched his head. "Special ops? Yeah I guess you could say that. Some heroes gotta stay in the limelight, and some of us stay in the shadows...keeps the enemy guessing, you know?" She didn't like that. Heroes should be out in the open. Showing everyone that there were people looking out for them. Even so, his words made her curious. "You said you got intel right? How'd you find out about this? If you stick to the shadows I'm guessing you don't have the same resources as other heroes. How can you be so sure your information is right?" "I've been following this case pretty closely...even though I operate lowkey, I'm still a part of the..." He paused for a second, "The Hero Association..." She noticed the hesitation but decided to just press the issue at hand. "What are we looking for anyway? Don't get me wrong I'm ready to take down whatever we have to but the way you're talking about it makes it seem like something really out there." "That's just it...If I divulge that info to you...you'd call me a whack job." He laughed. "Even I thought I'd seen everything..." "Don't worry. I kinda already think you are." She responded honestly. "My first impression was pretty rough huh?" He laughed a little more excitedly. "And here I was thinking that I was gonna my very own fan club! Forum Headline: The coolest undercover hero ever!" He scratched his temple. "Guess I got a bit ahead of myself huh?" "Maybe if you weren't so secretive you'd get some fans. But don't worry, once I reach the top, you can say that you worked with me once." "Oh? Don't think you'll rocket to the top so quickly. The hero world is tough, and fickle." His tone dropped significantly in humor. "Take a tip from me, Val. If you want to be a hero...a Real hero...you don't take orders from anyone. You do what your gut says...always." "That's what I've been doing." Valerie thought to herself, somewhat bitterly. It's why she was following this guy instead of reporting back to the teacher. It's why she went off to the river to begin with. She was going to be the best no matter what, or who, got in her way. "You just worry about your fans leaving you once I hit the scene, alright?"
  2. The clerk seemed slightly surprised as the pair accepted so easily but quickly covered it up with a wide smile. "You two know a good deal when you see it! I'll get it all together for you. But you're gonna have to carry some of it. I'm strong but I'm no Machamp after all!" She went about getting all the equipment and shouted in the back for someone to come take her place at the desk while she was out. She handed pieces of equipment, wet suits, tanks, masks, to the two and dragged them off towards a changing room. Naomi in the meantime was comfortable hanging off the hook unless someone came around to collect her. ----- Once back at the edge of the water, fully decked out in their gear, the clerk stood before them with one hand on her hip the other covering her eyes from the sun. "Looks like a good day for diving...well, that's every day! The crane isn't working anymore so it should be safe to go. I could go ask them but..." She glanced back and smirked. "What if they say no? Then we'd have to wait, and I hate waiting, if we don't ask we can't be told not to!" She took out a Pokeball from a waterproof pouch on her side and let out the Chinchou that was inside. "If you have a Pokemon that can handle the water might wanna let them out now. It's always good to have one or two around in case of emergency." She started to take off then paused. "Oh, yeah, guess I should tell you how this all works, shouln't I?" She said, thumping her head with one of her fists and laughing.
  3. Gunther smiled as he noticed the beaver becoming slowly less aggressive. It was odd. They had large, dangerous, teeth. Yet he didn't fear being injured by them like when he was in a battle. He felt more calm than he had in any of the previous encounters. "That's it, no need for violence." Gunther said. "Now, hold still, I'll make sure you're all fixed up." The Knight had some training in first-aid, it was one of the things he had been taught during his training, and something that he was happy to learn. Given the lack of healing magic it was important for soldiers to know how to fix up wounds themselves. That and his general knowledge on animals...yeah, he felt he could do this. The wound wasn't that deep, either, which helped. So, carefully, slowly, and continuously murmuring soft reassurances, Gunther began to work at fixing up the injured beaver. "I don't suppose you could get your friends to stop, too?" He said towards the other beavers. Though he realized they likely couldn't understand. "rope is kind of at maximum occupancy at the moment." "Well then MOVE!" Penelope shouted back at the boy. "If we all meet up on the other side we can just get out of here no fight needed. But I can't do that with you standing around like a log." She continued on towards the boy, and the other side of the river, while keeping an eye on the nearby beaver. A beaver which seemed to not be a problem anymore as Shiro dunked it under the water. Which was somewhat disturbing when she thought about it. How long was it that beavers could hold their breath again? She didn't think it was as long as a frog but were Proteans different? What would a beaver Protean be like anyway? Shaking her head she went back to the task at hand. Checking over at the side of the river she had left she was dismayed to see the mess it had become. "Everyone!" She tried to be heard over the noise of the beavers attacking. "Work together! If everyone gathers together they'll have a hard time harming us." Any injury during this fight would be a failure. Whenever a battle could be avoided, it should be, that was her goal. The fewer battles they had to partake in the better chance they had at succeeding in the overall goal.
  4. First and best, always
  5. Saw this on Twitter got curious. Basically as it says who's the first cartoon character (I saw people posting Sailor Moon girls so that kind of thing probably fair game) you had a crush on when you were younger? Noticed most people posted 3 or 4 of them when responding. For me I can't fully remember but these three came to mind first
  6. I am mad at myself for forgetting this one Duck Tales: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ieii1qGXETo

  8. And so it was that the first Neo Fire Emblem tournament has come to a close! It was a strange journey but we reached the end at last. And the results are.... Fourth Place: Severa, from Awakening Third Place: Marcia, from Path of Radiance Second Place: Morgan, Female, from Awakening And the grand champion of the first NFET is.... Lethe, from Path of Radiance, by a single vote! Congratulations! Apparently her sister came to congratulate her too (Will unpin this tomorrow feel free to discuss the results)
  9. Morgan "well, I did need to get some blood to drink." The witch examined the girl as Cyanthrax brought up the idea that she might be a vampire. Morgan...had to know. So she stepped up next to the girl, grabbed her face by the cheeks, and used her thumbs to push Ross's lip upward. She leaned forward to check the girl's teeth and then stepped back. "No fangs." Morgan called out to the rest. "She's got weird eyes, though." The latter comment seemed off coming from Morgan given her unusually orange eyes which, as the light struck them, shone briefly like a cat's. "Probably not from my world though... we don't have any of these 'movie' things... whatever the fuck that is. It sounds boring as shit. Why don't we discuss this over some ale at the bar?" "Oh. My. God." Morgan said, throwing her head back and sighing loudly. "I swear all you ever want to do is drink. You're such an old man." She looked back at Ross. "I'm sure we can get some familiar movies but a movie is a movie right? I'm sure whatever they have can't be much different from whatever you had." She then remarked, pointedly, towards Cyanthrax "Unlike some people I know that movies can be cool." "A movie sounds fun!" Morgan's face paled as she realized she was agreeing with Aurora of all people. "I think I'm gonna be sick." She muttered. Xia The maid boy and elf girl watched as the attacker fled through the window. The elf seemed like she wanted to follow but a flashing from a device on her chest gave her pause. Moments later the girl had vanished and in her place was the small form of Aurea that Xia had seen before. "Oh, dang it, out of juice." She muttered. Camille looked at Xia, who seemed confused, and quickly glanced away. "That um, well, you see, er..." He hesitated and simply closed his mouth. "That...was me." Valerie said as she emerged from the exit where they had been guiding people. "Sort of...That was me from, well, another universe." She gave a laugh and rubbed at the back of her head. "Yeah it's a bit of a mess." Masaru and Aria at the hospital Once the duo made their way to the hospital, after getting many odd looks from onlookers and being stopped every so often by fans, they would find it to look, to Aria at least, more or less like a basic hospital waiting room. Chairs set up along the walls and surrounding several rectangular pillars. Instead of the usual magazines there were instead pads that linked to various news and gossip channels. The main thing that set it apart from a hospital Aria would be familiar with was the virtual receptionist at one end of the room. Who, as the two approached, would notify them that "Oh, Masaru, we have been expecting you. Dr. Akoola is waiting in room 309, on the third floor. If you'd like we could have a guide-bot escort you to the room." As she spoke a small, pill-shaped, robot with clamp-like hands attached to spindly arms, a pair of glowing pink eyes, and a surgical mask on, came through a tube in the wall and hovered nearby.
  10. Arnold, Arnold, Arnold? That was such a boring name, Kelsey decided. "Alright, good to meet you Arnie, I guess. Suppose I'll get to see how you handle yourself out there eventually if we're gonna be going to school together." Arnold gave a nervous laugh. "Well, I wouldn't expect too much. I'm not that good truth being told." He gazed around at the group. "I don't know how you all handled yourselves so well out there." Kelsey shrugged, "Suppose I'm just a natural or something." She glanced back at the girl who had spoken about force shields, then at Stella. "Yeah I don't know what kinda shields she means. I don't really remember anything weird." "how uh...how was it out there?" "Ooooh it was crazy! It takes forever to walk across the ship but with a mech just....zooom and you're there, you know? And I guess there was a lotta explosions and stuff. That was pretty wild too." She snapped her fingers and pointed at Chase. "I almost blew that guy up though." She waved with her free hand as Stella half-dragged her away. "Sorry about that by the way!" She called out as they left the hanger. Arnold looked around once more at the group and smiled. "Seems this is going to be a good year." He stated to no one in particular. The mechanic started to tap her foot rapidly as she watched those who haven't left yet. "I want to get the repairs done so I can get back to my work." She stated bluntly. Then, muttering to herself once more, she began to grumble, "they can talk wherever why do they have to talk here. Is this how kids always are? This year is going to be such a pain." She then went of towards the mech that was the farthest from the rest and began to scan the damage.
  11. I just realized that Lysandre's entire motivation was literally the same as Thanos's.

    1. Thar

      Thar

      So was Cyrus, iirc

    2. Shradow

      Shradow

Not quite, Cyrus wanted to restart the universe entirely (I think he wanted to rule the new universe as well but I don't remember exactly) into one without emotion since he considered that the source of all strife.

  12. "A new Chosen. How very interesting." was all that Damien said before they transported to the new location. Yet he kept his eyes on the girl. She could practically feel his burning stare in the back of her head. Though if she looked all she would see was his flirtatious smile and a, while not innocent, not suspicious look that he was giving her. Keres had taken a few moments to recover from the move. It took a lot more out of her than she let on to do that so she preferred to stay in the background at least until she had recovered. In fact she was grateful for the distraction of the knights. Even if she wasn't entirely happy to see them. It was better than bandits but they still were soldiers placed there by the Council. She remembered having to avoid them when she had left the tower a couple times. Though these didn't seem to know anything about that. "We're trying to get to town for information and supplies. Is it very far from here?" "Not at all actually! It would only take a day or two to reach it. We try and keep the path from here to there clear of monsters at that so you shouldn't have too much trouble. Can't say there won't be anything, you know how it goes, but it's much better than trying to get through the forest that's for sure." "um, yes. Would you uh, know about any...strange? Things, going on." "Besides Sir Cumstance? Hm." The knight gave it some thought. "Well, we don't venture out far but we have heard some rumors that the monsters are getting more agitated than normal. The locals too. Those Minotaur tribes used to be fine helping out with the farms but lately they've been becoming more scarce. Don't know much else beyond that." "What about the lake?" Sir Perior hesitated. "Yes the lake is a strange place. Never been there myself but townsfolk are always telling people to stay away. Rumor has it that fog on the lake has been there since people first settled this place, hundreds of years ago." Keres gave that some thought. If it were really that long ago then could it have been caused by a Gate? She knew that the devices weren't always here but if not that, what could possibly be the cause? "If you happen to have a more detailed map of the island to spare, that would also be appreciated." "As I said before we don't venture out much. We keep to this area you see. Gotta keep the bridges safe else travel becomes a whole lot harder. Sorry bout that."
  13. Team Mac, Day 23, Ogren "Kazo's not shaking! And if he is, he's just trying to hold back the urge to fight. He's not a hothead like some people," One second Two seconds Three se- "Hey!" Mac said, turning towards Ari. "You wanna go too, shrimpy?" Mac said, putting a hand out and placing it on top of Ari's head. "It'd be a good warm up before a real fight." She pouted at the boy and seemed to almost forget that Tornadus was standing there. "I-I mean, judging from his name... he makes tornadoes... a-and you don't 'fight' something like that... a-at least not with a lot of collateral damage...A-and... I'm not shaking in my boots. I just... have a hard time with women...," "I AM pretty impressive, true." Tornadus said, flexing one of his mighty arms once again. "Hard time with women you say?" The legend grinned then swooped down at Kazo, putting an arm around the boy's shoulder. "That's no good. Women are one of the best parts of life. You're missing out kid. Why don't you tell me your troubles and I'll give you some advice." He flashed Kazo a thumbs up and shook the boy in what was probably meant to be a friendly manner. Nearby Elsa rolled her eyes and threw up her arms. "Alright, just don't break anything." She said as she walked away. Team Neo Not Dark, Day 33, Merm Palace "I guess it'd be too much to ask what the actual fuck is going on right now. Can't stop you now, sadly. Guess we'll just have to deal with this fallout," “If you don’t want to help me that’s fine, but stay outta my way!” The two soldiers seemed surprised to see the Emboar coming at them with an electric move. The Poliwrath stepped in front of the Starmie and held out her hands. She was pushed back by the attack and grunted in pain as the electric shock coursed through their body. However, with a pained noise, they managed to grab onto Brooke and Circle Throw her into the wall to the side. After being struck by the attack they seemed to be in a bad shape already, wobbling slightly as they advanced on Brooke. The Starmie looked ready to attack as well but instead they were struck in the side of the head by Gisei's Crabhammer. This forced the Starmie's focus on Gisei. "You know you're no match for me." The man said without any hint of arrogance. He then looked over towards Denku. "If you don't want to fight, get that door open, before more come." ------- Easter's search was going slowly. There was a frustratingly high amount of doors in just this one hallway. Eventually, after looking into one that seemed to someone's room, and was filled with paintings of what looked like a Skitty Gijinka, a Kingdra Gijinka tapped him on the shoulder. "Miss? Er...you're....one of the king's guests right? I don't know if you should be here...er, are you looking for something?" The Kingdra seemed to be strong but Easter couldn't sense any threatening feeling from him. Instead he just seemed a bit unsure and awkward. Team Alola, Day 27, Trailsau Heatran kept the Flamethrower up, enveloping Randy in a flame so hot even the Fire type was feeling it, similarly to the heat of the volcano. They seemed intent on continuing the attack and forcing Randy off the edge and into the lava until they felt the sizzling pain of a water jet to the side. Biting down and ending the Flamethrower the Heatran turned towards the other two who were now joining in the fight. They fired of another Lava Plume, this time directed towards Marie and Keanu, then started towards Marie. They were moving in a stomping manner, growling all the way, and every step created a small shockwave as they bulldozed through the lava itself heading for the Brionne girl. ----- "What's his deal, anyway?" "It's....complicated." Trevor said with a sigh. Nani noticed that, even though they traveled right past the edge of the on-going fighting, no one seemed to come to disrupt them. "You see...that volcano is, uh, important. I don't know how it...works, really, but it provides....life energy, to the ground...a-all of the ground. Not just here. Erm...without its energy, crops don't grow well, and...and such." Trevor coughed awkwardly. "And uh, Heatran protects it and...well...if no one fights him for too long, the volcano sorta...overflows with energy and....erupts. Its been a while since someone went up there...last person got pretty badly hurt so uh...I guess they're nervous..." Trevor finished, not looking at Nani. When they got near the house he stopped suddenly. Looking over to the house Nani would see a young Tyranitar girl leaning against the wall next to the door. "Yo. Long time no see." She said. The two girls squirmed out of Trevor's grip and started running towards her "Sis is here! Sis is here!" They chanted. Team Karaoke, Day 37, Deadlands "So... everything ok?" Kayla froze up as Lok approached her. She muttered something far too quietly for him to hear. Then, perhaps realizing he didn't hear, and wasn't going to just walk away. "That man. He saw me." She hesitated. "People don't...see me, if I don't want them to." She said. "He shouldn't have found me....but he did...." She stopped herself, turned suddenly towards Lok, and stared at him. "This place...these....you people, are not...not what you seem." She said, trembling a bit, looking almost frightened. --- "but, how was it to be home?" Gwen bit her lip. "It's...it's fine. No, it's good. Yeah, it's good to be back. I used to spend so much time with them all I've gotten used to them being around. It's been so long though, and things...change." She looked into the flames, rubbing some locks of hair between her fingers, for some time. "Hey Nine, do you believe in destiny?" Team Showdown, Day 31, Oasis "We'll just ask some questions and then we'll be outta yer hair lickity split!" The old woman hesitated. She looked back at Taiga, staring at her intently. Then she looked over at Scarlet, who was fanning Isole with her wings, and Isole herself, who seemed to be relaxing back into some semblance of her usual self. "I suppose I never told him I wouldn't bring up any guests." She said to herself. "Well, come on then, that geezer might as well learn to be less of a hermit." She led them up the stairs and passed by each and every door. Instead she stopped by a blank spot in the wall and, grabbing at it, slide open a hidden doorway and gestured the group to follow her inside. Sitting, on the floor in front of a small round table where a half eaten pie was placed, was a very large, orange, very powerful looking man. "Well." The man said. And they each would feel the voice vibrate within their bodies. "What do we have here?"
  14. Oh come on you couldn't use an anime image and something that doesn't make her look like an alien?
  15. Sneaking in like a... Zorua

    Hey Everyone

I've seen several people come that Yui has brought in, they have almost all mysteriously vanished, hope the same fate doesn't befall you...
  17. The rodent Pokemon that had approached Belle was slightly larger than the rest in the area. It had decided that, unlike the rest, hiding and waiting for this human to move on wasn't going to do anything. So it had decided that the time had come to make the girl leave. So it crept closer, slowly, with its head low to the ground as it watched her warily....And then it ran forward at the girl in a charge. --- While this was going on, a couple floors higher, the Murkrow seemed to be getting closer. At first they were merely circling by the ceiling but then they ended up flying onto the stairs itself. Three birds stood, oddly silent, staring at the two adventurers. When the duo would get closer they'd hop a few steps back. This kept going until they were just crossing into the third floor when two of the three suddenly flew up and towards the pair. The third seemed to be waiting for either Ivan or Jacklyn to make a move.
  18. “I’m sorry I’m not much help.” "Nothing to be sorry about; your willingness to escort me is proof enough of your loyalty." Gabriela told the girl with a grandiose sweep of her arms. "Alright alright, calm down. If you're lost you can just tag along. I'm going to same place," Hiraku said with a sigh. "But don't sweat it, these halls can be confusing sometimes. I know I got lost a bit in my first few weeks." Maybe...he wasn't so bad? He actually was sounding rather nice at the moment actually. Gabriela smiled. Perhaps this was working after all. This could indeed be the ticket to making friends! Just a word of advice, I think we're doing a meet in front of the school today. I don't think they've usually done one at this time of the year, but I think the prez might be pulling more strings than I'm comfortable realizing. So, you'll probably be in front of the school dressed like... that. Just so you know." "T-To what are you referring to?" Gabriela asked, refusing to look directly at the boy. Her costume may be unusual but it, and the school uniform, was all she had... "This, er, that's right this is the height of fashion back home! I don't expect the people here to understand our refined tastes though." She then linked an arm with Melissa's, only to let go awkwardly moments later, and cleared her throat. "Well....let us be off then!" She declared. The girl followed after Hiraku, gesturing for Melissa to do the same, as he made his way to the place they were meant to meet with the others. She paused and turned around as she heard several mechanical clicks. But she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary so, with a shrug, she continued on her way.
  19. When Yue spoke up Rona was shocked for several reasons. One, Yue spoke. Two, Yue spoke in a confrontational manner...more or less. And three, Yue said that she trusted her. Maybe Rona had just been blind to it but she hadn't realized that Yue thought well of her at all. It was a relief to say the least. Especially given the girl was a wielder of a bow...Though in this situation she wondered if she had made herself even more of an enemy of Edda. She still didn't know if the girl knew more than she was letting on and it wouldn't do to upset her. But the Wyvern Rider couldn't deny that she was glad for the support. Rona placed a hand on Yue's shoulder. "I won't let anyone come to harm, you don't have to worry about that." "Our task is simple. We are to escort Edda to the Port Town of Enta. It'll be a long trip, so get ready for more walking than normal." Rona winced slightly, atop of Cormag. "I'd give someone a lift but..." Cormag's growl as a response made it clear that wouldn't work out. "Well, you know." She finished with a laugh. Some day she'd get Cormag used to other people. It wasn't right that she rode while her commander had to walk. "Skies seem pretty clear today." Rona declared. "Well, danger-wise that is." The clouds had gathered but it didn't seem like it would rain. She had been taking to the skies at regular intervals to check for any trouble. Thus far there hadn't been anything to indicate there would be trouble. Being the only flier left to the group proved to be a lot of work. It reminded her of back when it was just her and Leon. Though that had been even worse. She'd interrupt her scouting to double check on the lone Mercenary multiple times. "You all might as well relax. I'll be alert enough for everyone!"
